Summer Montgomery never imagined starting over would lead her to the quiet town of Lander, Wyoming. After walking away from her cheating ex-husband, she’s determined to build a new life for herself and her daughter, Mia, one built on strength, independence, and the warmth of the little coffee shop she now calls her own. Love? That’s the one thing she’s sworn off for good.
Captain Ethan Hawthorne, steady, loyal, and every inch the hero the town believes him to be, can’t help being drawn to the curvy, guarded woman who brews the best coffee in Wyoming. Breaking through Summer’s walls won’t be easy, especially when her past refuses to let her go.
When a devastating fire destroys Summer’s home, she and Mia find themselves with nowhere to turn… until the Hawthorne family opens the doors of their ranch. Just as Summer begins to feel safe again, the past she tried so hard to escape creeps back into her life, threatening everything she’s worked for. She soon realizes the biggest fight of her new beginning may still lie ahead.
If in Asher's book, they don't mention that child is not his, I hate everything. HOW IS IT POSSIBLE? I WANT HIM TO SUFFER FOR GRACE. I WANT GRACE TO FIND LOVE IN SOMEONE ELSE. HOW IS IT POSSIBLE THAT THE MAN WHO I KNOW LOVES HER MARRIES AND IMPREGNATES ANOTHER WOMAN. I'M ANGRY. FURIOUS.
Now, about Summer and Ethan. I like the trope of the single mother and the man who fights for her. I liked that they fought for their daughter, but I still prefer the first book.
OMG this book is so good. I’m just in love with the series and I’m sad that I have to wait for more books to be ready! Hopefully it’s not a long process for the next family members to appear!
I’m really hoping for Asher and Grace when it’s her turn to have a love story!
Like the first book in the series, Under The Crimson Sky is a gentle romance designed to warm my cold little heart 😉 It has strong Hallmark movie vibes and honestly, you know exactly what you’re signing up for — will they/won’t they, found family, everything going beautifully, a twist and relationship curveball… all neatly wrapped up with a HEA 💕
That said, I did start getting genuinely frustrated with Summer. Ethan is blatantly laying his feelings on the table, constantly telling her how amazing she is, and she just keeps pushing him away 😩 And then — Ethan nearly dies halfway through the book and she responds with a casual “Get well soon” before walking out of his hospital room?! I wanted to reach into my Kindle and slap her silly 🤦♀️
What really has me hooked though is the ongoing subplot with Grace and Asher, which continues on from book one. I’m fully invested now — will they get their own book?! And Jude… I need Jude’s story next because there is clearly more going on there than meets the eye 👀
The only downside is the pacing of releases. These books are coming thick and fast, and I do wish Keeley would slow down a little. There were some pretty obvious continuity issues — in one chapter Mia is 4 years old, and in the very next chapter she’s suddenly 6… on the same day in the story timeline 🤦♀️
Overall, this was cosy, predictable, and comforting — flaws and all — and I’ll absolutely be continuing with the series 💕
I loved this book, from start to finish I couldn’t put it down.
The writing style is perfect and so easy to read. I can picture it all so vividly and I am in love with this family, I can’t wait to read more about them.
I was worried the shorter chapters would feel a little abrupt and move on to quickly to the next thing but it really doesn’t. It flows so well and if anything keeps you engaged and eager for what comes next.
It’s such a cosy, feel good story, I love a cowboy book so I’m loving those little elements and I love that it isn’t cheesy, I often picture myself and how I’d react and some of the things authors have these men say makes me cringe but I find myself smiling and laughing along with the characters. The story feels relatable and realistic and enjoyable all round read.
You aren’t getting spice in this read, and I do enjoy a spicy book but the way it’s written, the suggestion, and the build up was enough I didn’t feel I needed it or missed it.
What a rollercoaster, I am so invested, I’ve laughed and cried and everything in between. I got lost in this world and loved every second.
Under the Crimson Sky absolutely stole my heart ❤️✨
Ethan Hawthorne might genuinely be one of the kindest fictional men I have ever met. The way this man fell for Summer before she even realised what was happening had me kicking my feet the entire time 🥹 And little Mia?? The fact Ethan stepped into that dad role without even a second thought completely melted me. He loved both of them so fiercely and naturally that it just felt right from the very beginning.
I adored their relationship as a whole family. Summer and Ethan complemented each other perfectly and their dynamic felt so genuine, comforting, and full of love. Every scene with the three of them together had my heart so full.
Then in comes Kevin… aka SATAN himself 😭 The fact this man dragged Summer to court over custody of Mia had me ready to fight fictional characters again because the rage I felt was unreal. But honestly, seeing the entire town rally around and support Summer during everything was one of my favourite parts of the book. The found family and small-town support in this series is just unmatched.
Another incredible read from Keely Weis and another easy ⭐️ 5/5 stars from me. I’m officially running straight into book 3 because this series owns me now
It honestly brings me great joy to find authors that I would not have found before if not for me just searching around on Kindle. I like the storytelling and the building of the characters and the overarching plot. This is one piece of commentary and definitely a personal pet peeve but I’ve definitely noticed a trend in an increase in similes and metaphors in books specifically using the word like, I’ll give an example, she smiled in that way that women do when no one’s looking like the sunrise when it has no witnesses but still shine so bright. Look, I get it sounds poetic but maybe just use it a little bit less. Just a little bit. I’m excited to see the next few character stories and potentially Grace and Asher's, I do not have good feelings about his marriage considering his wife seemed far more happy to win him as a prize than to have him as a person so that story will have some good foundations.

I am in love with EFAN!!!! (mia speak lol). my heart just exploded at the cuteness of this story, I even CRIED!!!!!! when mia was in the hospital with ethan asking him to be her daddy so she can tell all her friends 💔❤️. I just loved it in the courtroom the whole town came through for summer and mia. and the incident in the courtroom after omg my world fell out my arse, I was on the edge of my seat I spoke to my book Out loud like I was crazy person.
this series is going to have my heart and soul I can feel it bring on book 3 dexter's story next.
Wow. What a book. Yup I have tears in my eyes. The good ones. I ugly cried in the last 15% of this book so hard that I think it was a cathartic experience. Absolutely loved Ethan and Summer. The way Ethan was with her and Mia just brought spontaneous tears to my eyes and I’m NOT a book cryer. I’m not happy with the way things went down with Ash and Grace but I’m trusting the author because I just know she’s a big soft romantic and she’ll do them good!! Absolutely loved and highly recommend ❤️❤️❤️ P.S. this one was so good I didn’t even mind the minimal spice scenes. Who knew??
Absolutely LOVED this book! I got lost in the story. It makes you want to keep knowing more. The characters are great, the story is great and it's such an emotional rollercoaster. I personally found it relatable and it was easy for me to connect with the characters.
Keely is definitely one to watch. The character building and world building is amazing and not thrown in your face. The best moments are so descriptive. Loved her style of writing
4.5 ⭐️ Ethan ❤️ comes to Summer’s rescue in so many different ways. He is exactly what she needs and deserves after being with someone who was really a nobody. Not only does Ethan fight for her but he fights for her little girl, Mia. His family is perfection and I love everything about them.
There is not 3rd act breakup, rather like a 1st act one but it doesn’t last long. Summer was just scared and couldn’t see what was right in front of her.
I really, really enjoyed this book! Can’t wait for the next one in the series!
I couldn’t put this book down! Summer and Ethan’s story brought everything to the table for me. This book got me into my feels, had plenty of twists and turns and the writing style makes me feel like I’m a part of the family.
The character that stole my heart was Mia—-she had such love for “Efan”
When a book works its way into my soul after reading the ebook, I reserve a spot for it on my bookcase—this is one of those books—-a place is being held for it ❤️
i love this book! but I have to be honest, I was so looking forward the story between Gracie and Asher, but now he is married and has a kid? 😔 I was hoping he would fight to be with her. She deserves better

Just when I thought nothing could top the first book, this one was perfection! I loved Ethan and summers story, there was moments I held my breathe. I can’t wait for the next book
I love this series so much. I hope that all the siblings get a book. Can’t wait to read Dex and Lexi’s story. This got me out of a reading slump. Love the writing style. My favorite character was Mia. She is so adorable.
I truly couldn’t put this book down. The story completely swept me away and wouldn’t let go. Page after page, I kept reading, captivated by the atmosphere and the emotions. I found it a beautiful book that will stay with me for a long time.
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ I wish I could give this more than 5 stars 🥹💕 Book two delivered ALL the feels, unforgettable characters, and twists that had me hooked from page one. One of my new favorite authors—can’t wait for what’s next! 📚✨
This might just be my favourite read of the year and it’s only January 🤩I think the only books that can top this is the rest of the Hawthorne series books. Because it just keeps getting better. Can’t wait for the next one, wish I could read it today 🥹
I love these cosy books the Hawthorne family you want to be part of . Rewritten so well you feel part of the family laugh and cry with them and enjoy each and everyone that’s meets up in the ranch kitchen!!
Just finished book 2 of this series. And just like the first book, I really loved it. Such an easy read as well as a lovely story for Ethan, Sunmer and little Mia♡ However....I am sooooocurious about Grace's story...will she and Asher have theirs. The little bits here and there ☆☆☆
A heartfelt small‑town, second‑chance‑at‑life romance about healing, trust, and finding safety in unexpected places. Summer Montgomery never imagined that leaving her cheating ex‑husband would lead her to the quiet town of Lander, Wyoming. Determined to rebuild a life for herself and her daughter, Mia, she pours everything into her independence and the cozy coffee shop she now runs. Romance is the last thing on her mind.
Captain Ethan Hawthorne a steady, loyal, and deeply rooted in his community, finds himself drawn to Summer despite her guarded, cautious nature. She’s fiercely protective of her new life, but Ethan’s patience and quiet strength slowly begin to break through her defenses.
When a devastating fire destroys Summer’s home, she and Mia are left with nowhere to go until the Hawthorne family opens their ranch to them. Just as Summer starts to feel safe again, the past she tried so hard to escape resurfaces, threatening everything she’s worked to rebuild.
Finished this one last night and it wrecked me in the best way!
Single mom meets cowboy/fire chef and he falls first hard and fast
The story line was great and the love little Mia has for EFAN is so damn cute I was laughing, crying through the whole book I’ll buy the paper backs for my collection to re-read
I really enjoyed this book. Closed door spice but made me cry for about 20 minutes. I didn’t really like the way of writing and some of the grammar but the story itself was amazing.

Decent read. Not as good, in my opinion, as the first but definitely entertaining. This series is fun and a feel good one. The Hawthorne family is delightful. Can’t wait to check out the next one.
Book two in the series was good, I think I liked the first one better but that may have just been because I was so ready for Summer to drop her guard down. That man loved her from day one I would have gone all in if I was her. But definitely understand the hesitation her parents and ex were a piece of work. Still going to continue the series for sure.
