Yet another brilliant Ruth Hunter book from Simon McCleave.
What's not to like about this series? It has sharp writing, clever plots and accurate geographic settings.
This time it all relates to unresolved happenings in previous books, though it's not necessary for readers to have read them, they'll probably want to after finishing this one. I particularly enjoyed the little bits of character development for all the regular cast members.
I'm really looking forward to the next one.

1st time I’ve been disappointed

I love DI Hunter books and I’ve never had issue until this one. Everything seemed a bit rushed and the 2 story lines running side by side meant that both were a bit lack lustre. Maybe 2 separate books would have been better.

As usual a great book from this author. I could hardly put it down. It has two stories running side by side, both making me anxiety ridden for the characters. I cannot say anything further without spoilers but if you are a fan of Ruth Hunter and her team this is one not to be missed.

A great read

As I have come to expect from this author…a book full of action, heroism, terror, fear and a group of colleagues nearer to friends; especially when one of their number is kidnapped and threatened with a gruesome death.
Working between Wales and Merseyside the team cover the miles to bring justice against organised crime groups who wreak havoc.
I strongly recommend this book.

Five star as usual

Well I waited for this for a while and read it in 2 days. I couldn't put it down! One of the best in the series I believe. Fast paced and the usual suspects carrying out the actions. I just wonder how much further Simon can take this. I personally hope it's a lot further.

Another great Ruth Hunter story

Another great Simon McCleave book. All the usual characters , lives at risk, more little insights into the characters private lives, all making the book believable.

Padded

A bit a weak story, both of them, but enthralling nevertheless. Movement between North wales, Liverpool and back again

Best one yet

The book is a page turner of the highest order. From page one to the end it had me gripped in suspense. Simon always tells a good story but this one beats them all
