Irresistible Objections: An Enemies-to-Lovers Billionaire Courtroom Romance

Rate this book
The moment he walks in, the air shifts.
It feels like the court belongs to him—and my body never stopped being the evidence.

Adrian Steele.
My rival. My almost. My biggest mistake.

Five years ago, we burned through the line between passion and devastation.
I swore I would never let him close enough to ruin me again.

Now he’s my opposing counsel on the biggest retaliation case of my career, with cameras waiting in the hallway and partners listening for any crack in my voice.

He’s sharper than ever, controlled to the point of cruelty—until the moment we’re alone.

Then the truth tightens between us.
Every argument feels like foreplay.
Every cross-exam feels like a dare.
And the desire we buried didn’t die. It detonated.

Winning this case means keeping my distance.
Losing means losing everything.

Adrian Steele wants the verdict.
He just wants me more.
And he’s done pretending otherwise.

A high-heat, high-stakes legal romance about second chances, sharp minds, and the kind of chemistry no courtroom can contain.

This was my first Brandy Garr book and it will be my last. WAY too many adjectives to describe the emotions of the characters and nothing else. I couldn't get into the story because of it. I felt like the whole book was just describing the characters feelings with barely any actual plot or scenes. The couple had gotten back together after 5 years but there was no background about what happened, why they broke up, nothing. And all the emotions were very soft.

Not angry. Not happy. Just flat.

And the book has prose exactly like that on every or every other page.

And zero spice. So if youre looking for a book that reads more like a poem, this is for you. If you expect scene and character building, you may not like it.

This is the perfect romance book to have your body humming with excitement. I had a hard time wanting to go to bed at a decent hour all because of Adrian and Elena and the story they deliver. Holy moly what a fantastic 5/5-star book Brandi write. I feel bad because I read this book faster than she wrote it.

Enemies to lovers

A captivating novel that offers rich, atmospheric descriptions of the setting, painting vivid scenes of urban landscapes and atmospheric conditions. While the prose beautifully captures environmental nuances, the narrative could benefit from deeper exploration of interpersonal dynamics and emotional connections between the characters.

I received this book as a Goodreads giveaway. However I only got 70% through the book before I DNFd. There was definitely chemistry between the characters. However, I was so confused on the history and how they got to where they were, not much plot at all and it just really didn’t work for me.

I don't think this story is for me. It was a miss. The best way I can describe it was that it was just weird. The plot concept was interesting but it was a mess overall. It was hard for me to overlook inconsistencies in the story. Adrian and Elena had a very complex relationship but some things just didn't hit right for me.
