But there’s one big HMS Prince Gerald is terrible. From the day it launched, it’s been plagued by every problem in the book, and its crew is made up of malcontents who might as well be fighting for the other side. Now, it's Brad’s flagship, whether he likes it or not, and he quickly discovers that someone very powerful is determined that his mission should fail. Saddling him with the worst carrier in the Queen’s Navy is only the start.
With saboteurs at every step, his wife having second thoughts about their mission, and his friends in peril, Brad has no choice but to pull off another miracle… or die trying, again.

The perfect mix of military sci-fi and comedic space opera, The Worst Carrier in the Resistance will keep you on the edge of your seat and begging for more.
Skyler grew up in Southern California, under the best weather that state has to offer. So, he's shown a little of his insanity over the years in moving to colder, wetter places: New York City; Provo, Utah; Bainbridge Island, WA. He now resides with his family in Texas, which (apart from the humidity) gives him that great weather once again.
Skyler has been and continues to be a leader and executive with multiple Fortune 500 and Fortune 1000 companies, working across a variety of functions, both technical and non-technical. In other words, he's very much a jack-of-all-trades but master of none. Maybe that's why he has now decided to be an author as well. In it, he’s finally found the thing he loves to do most.
Mr. Ramirez currently resides in Texas with his wife, Lindsey, and their four children.
I appreciated the refresher. It's been a minute and a lot of books since the last one lol. - Holy smokes. They're just casually talking treason. You're on a spaceship. Assuming you're going to be heard somehow just seems prudent. - Wow what an ass. To give a completely untested, unready ship? -Oh good, Hayley is going anyway! Screw you, dickhead! - God, I wouldn't want to go back there either. -Lord, that man is fully crazy. -Yep! - Who's the puppet master then! WARN THEM SOMEHOW DANGIT! -Shit. Ryan, really? And what, you felt that Brad wouldn't at least hear your concerns and possibly find someone else for the job? -Laraby!? No! -Well shit. Annie's gone. Ryan was blackmailed with the survival of his family. Laraby has been the puppet master/ kingmaker since the beginning. Brad is drinking again. This all sucks. -Holy crap! Annie's alive! Gutshot but alive! The resistance is alive!

This book keeps you on the edge of your seat. What to say without giving away to plot? There is lots of action. The characters are themselves and it is interesting to see their personalities conflict and mesh as the case may be. Putting together members of two different personality teams for the special mission is genius and it was very fun reading. Military genius plans and then what comes next when reality strikes is great. All I can say is, please don't let us wait to long for the next installment. This series and the rest of Skyler Ramirez books are highly recommended.
A solid entry in the series, with the main plot advancing rapidly. The way scenes alternate between the husband and wife is still a bit tedious, but the story remains fast-paced. For once, the interruptions—or interludes—are actually quite interesting; they act as short stories embedded within the main narrative. Skyler Ramirez generally excels at the short-form format, after all. I’ll be reading the next one; this installment concludes with a great climax.
Dastardly villians, beautiful queens, pet scorpions, psychotic killers, gladiators, epic space battles, spies, traitors, crocodiles, mutiple personality agents, crazy antics, brilliant tactics, SURPRISES, fabulous heroes... what more could you want in a book?
Brad and Jess are reunited, as Brad leads a task force to bring back a fleet that will hopefully turn the tide in the war. With mistrust and spies everywhere, the mission is doomed, unless they can unite the task force. As the chase hots up, the puppet master is revealed. Will the task force prevail or will the war and Queen Anne be lost.
How Skyler managed to bring all the dumb luck characters together for one long escapade is amazing and a lot of fun. Well done. Sometimes I can’t put a book down, and there’s those i put down simply because I do not want the fun to go by too fast. Now patiently waiting for book 11.
Brad & company keep on delivering the goods! Already chomping at the bit for the next in the series. Skyler Ramirez ranks up there with the greats - Heinlein, McCaffrey, & others.
Not my favorite in the series. The story breaks into an interlude story with a bunch of other characters that takes about 1/3 or 1/2 of the book. I don’t really care for the side-quest story so it makes the book seem short.
I thought this book was almost the greatest science fiction novel I have ever read. I don’t think I was very happy with the way that ended, but I understand you have to deal with it and wait for the next book!!!
3.25. Very Empire Strikes Back. Just when you think its over, a flip and a miraculous recovery. Good space tactics, enough science-y mumble jumble, self referential plot armor devices and a few hidden references are an enjoyable distraction to read. Next one soon!
Fantastic series. Now I have to wait for the next book for almost a year 😩. I'm 78 and hope I live that long. Highly recommend this series and this author!
Another twisty, turny plot that keeps you guessing...but always chuckling as your fav characters stumble, and at times dance around the villains and authorities in their way!
