Amity #3

Memories of You

Rate this book
A small town, slow-burn romance for fans of Elsie Silver and Laura Pavlov.

Lily
I fell in love with my best friend when I was fifteen. My first love, my first everything. But then I left, and broke both our hearts in the process. I tried to move on, but when tragedy brings me back home to Amity, it also brings me back to him. I want to stay away; I don’t want to want him. But there’s always been a pull between us that’s impossible to ignore. And I’m afraid if I let him in, I’ll end up falling even harder than before.

Parker
It’s always been her. Even when she hasn’t wanted me, I’ve still wanted her. Lily is my everything, even when she left. Even when she acted like she hated me, I’ve still wanted her. Now that she’s back I’m determined to do everything I can to have her once again. The memories of her will never be enough. This time, when I get her back, I’m going to hold on tight and never let her go.

For everyone saying there is no owd you either read with your eyes closed or have zero comprehension skills.
They break up because the fmc wants to pursue degrees and academic stuff, she comes back later to get him back and then sees him on a date with his arms around a girl. He said he did it on purpose to HURT her…that should have been the end. She should have never taken him back. So idk why everyone is saying there was no owd 🤷🏼‍♀️ he might have been celibate but he’s enough of a piece of shit that i wouldn’t want them back together

I’ve loved this series from the start, but this one hit a little deeper for me.

Lily and Parker pulled me in so easily. She’s bold, a little chaotic, and completely herself, and I loved that he never tried to change her. Their dynamic felt natural and fun, but also layered with so much history that you could feel right away.

This is the kind of second chance romance that leans into all the feelings. There’s tension, longing, and that sense that neither of them ever really moved on. I loved the mix of humor and emotion, especially in their banter, but it’s the quiet moments and the weight of their past that really stood out. It felt messy in a very real way, especially considering how young they were when everything first fell apart.

Not every choice worked perfectly for me, and a few moments had me questioning things, but overall I was still completely invested. The flashbacks helped build their connection without slowing things down, and watching them find their way back to each other just worked.

It’s emotional, a little dramatic, but ultimately really satisfying.

Huge thank you to Madi Danielle & The Smuthood for the ARC! 😍 All my bookish thoughts are completely my own. ✨

It was fine 🤷🏽‍♀️ boring tbh and the way it’s formatted drove me insane.

I mainly read this to find out if the mmc turned into a manwhore during their separation

SPOILERS

He didn’t. He hung out with lots of people and let everyone believe that he turned into this major whore and he never corrected anyone/leaned into this image but he never even kissed another girl (though he almost did). She left for college and came back after like a month and was going to get him back but saw him in a compromising position (nothing spicy they were just sitting close and their heads bent towards each other and his arm around her lol) and was convinced he moved on so quick. It took her years after that but she finally moved on and got a bf …. But of course he sucked

Am I the problem? Is it me? I’ve now read all three books in the Amity series, and despite rave reviews, unfortunately for me each one has been worse than the one before it.

What initially drew me in to the series was the town of Amity itself, all the character and world building. In the first two books, I really enjoyed the small-town atmosphere, the sense of community, and the interconnected side characters. Even when the romances didn’t fully land for me, that world-building kept me invested. Sutton and Jameson’s story had its issues but still held my attention, and while Bailey and Wes’ story fell a bit flat for me, I was still hopeful going into Parker and Lily’s book.

Unfortunately, this one was a struggle from start to finish.

Lily, who I think is meant to come across as quirky, fun, and lovable, instead felt incredibly immature and, at times, downright annoying. She didn’t read like a 25-year-old, and that made it difficult to take the romance seriously. And the dynamic between her and Parker felt juvenile which made it hard to stay invested in their relationship.

The switching between high school and present day interrupted the flow of the story, and rather than adding depth, it often felt unnecessary.

Speaking of unnecessary, the second half of the book leaned heavily into spice. And while I love a really spicy romance, this spice just wasn’t spicing for me. It became monotonous and took away from any development that might have made their relationship or the story more compelling.

What surprised me most, though, was that even the elements I’d previously enjoyed, the side characters and the town itself, didn’t have the same charm here. Everything felt flatter, and I found myself disconnected not just from Parker and Lily, but from the story as a whole.

All that said, I did listen to this one on audio, and the narration itself was very well done. The performance helped bring some enjoyment to the story, even when the material wasn’t fully working for me.

Thank you to Smuthood PR and Madi Danielle for providing this book for advanced review 🖤 All opinions are my own.

ARC/ALC Review

I have to get this one thought out of the way … I will never understand why some choices are written into a story. I’m not putting this in a spoiler thread because the book has already released and it’s just one of those things that makes me twitchier than twitchy. Okay, maybe I will LOL. Everything that happens in this story is legit for the age group these characters are in. I said what I said. #fightme

I enjoyed this story. Not everything about it, but enough that I was satisfied. There are more than a few choices the author made for the storyline that I have yet to figure out why she chose what she chose to happen, but it’s not my story to tell, and honestly, in real life, those choices are not not realistic. So, there’s that. I enjoyed the “flashbacks” because they helped me understand their bond better and young love is always heartwarming for me. Without those flashbacks, it might have been difficult for me to really connect with them as a couple and believe in their HEA. Plus, the flashbacks were more like “moments in time” rather than “chunks of time” so you don’t really get pulled from the “today” story, it just gets enhanced. I like that even with all the dramatic(ish) events in the beginning of this book, they got their act together and began building a “now” relationship fairly early. Also, the last minute “surprise” events were enjoyable and added a level of emotion that wasn’t unwelcomed because they weren’t “conflicts”.

🎧I listened to this story more than read because an immersive experience is what I like best, I used the ARC to read some situations a little better to make sure I was really getting what the story was trying to say, and it worked really well with this story. 🎤Brandon Francis & Savannah Thomas🎤 performed smoothly and kept me invested in the story. I don’t listen to either of them nearly enough and I need to change that. Before today, I’d listened to just a couple of books narrated by Brandon and now it seems like I have about 5 on deck between last month and now, and I am not sad about it! 👏👏

This was a really great second chance romance with Lily and Parker. When she moved away things were over between them. But when she came back, she tried really hard not to want Parker. But it just wasn’t that simple. I loved the connection between these two. Everything that they went through, and they still had love for one another. That’s two hearts that were meant to be together. I loved the plot and the way they were able to reconnect. A really sweet story and I’m sad that this is the end of it.

ARC Review

This was such an interesting read, it was enjoyable and it’s definitely one of those stories that you don’t want to put it down. You just want to keep going to see what will happen with these characters. The banter between them and their dynamics was very enjoyable to read.

Lily and Parker were such fun characters to be around and to see how their story develops. I loved how Lily just speaks her mind and lets her intrusive thoughts get the best of her. It was just funny, as you don’t know what to expect out of her. Parker was just the biggest green flag ever, and I loved how he encouraged her to stay true to herself, especially since he was on the receiving end of almost all of it; he was just supportive of it. His patience shows how much he loved her and how he was willing to wait for her, letting everything take its own pace.

I had the chance to read an ARC of this one, and I’m so happy I did because this story delivered in all the ways I was hoping for.

I love Lily, she’s so unapologetically herself, no filter, super chill, and just feels so real. And Parker… he’s the kind of character that quietly shows up again and again, always there for her and the fact that he waited for her all this time… yeah, I’m not over that. 🥹

This second chance romance was done so beautifully. The history, the tension, the growth it all felt so natural. And the banter?? So good. It added the perfect balance to all the emotional moments.

I was especially excited to finally read their story after all the teasing of their relationship in the previous books, and it did not disappoint.

If you’ve been following this series, you need to pick this one up.

Leaving Amity is so bittersweet and wrapping it up with Lily and Parker was worth it!! These two are absolute perfection! The banter you get from them in “Embers of You” and “Scars of You” are child’s play compared to the banter in this book! They knew every single button to push and how to push it!

Lily is back in her home town, a place she thought she needed to leave to grow, and with being from a small town means having run ins with Parker, her ex. Coming back into town with her boyfriend Aaron in tow has really complicated things. Parker sees Lily in ways that others can’t and I’m talking like he REALLY see her!

Parker is so madly in love with Lily and Lily is still in love with Parker but is so scared of that love. The history these two shared and seeing the flashbacks of them was even better!

Loved the relationship Parker and Ethan, Lily’s younger brother, had. It was sweet to see that even though Lily and Parker weren’t together he still was involved.

Their love is so sweet and their journey back together was just as sweet! I laughed and kicked my feet at every turn of the page. Narration by Brandon Francis and Savannah Thomas. They were fantastic! This audio brought all the emotions to these characters!

I absolutely love this Amity series! I was originally drawn in by the town name, naturally 🤭 but I have stuck around for the amazing stories & characters Madi writes!

Lily & Parker were everything! She is such a fun FMC who is unfiltered and a little chaotic. She wasn’t ever afraid to speak her mind & that is so admirable!! Parker is the hot firefighter MMC, who is supportive, thoughtful, and never once tries to tone down Lily & her personality. I love a second chance romance & this best friends to enemies to lovers romance was just so sweet and fun!

Lily is back in town & Parker is not shy when letting it be known he wanted her back in his life. This book was the epitome of it’s always been you! The chemistry between these two was so undeniable, but the tension building between them gave way to some delicious spice! The banter with these two in the beginning had me cackling and just loving them so much!

This one was full of heart, humor, and so much emotion! It put me through all the feels and just had me falling so in love with these two!! I cannot recommend their story enough!!

Thank you Madi & team for this early copy & the smuthood for the early ALC!

This was a story about childhood friendships, first love, choosing yoursel, and second chances. I loved how Lily was just authentically real and didn't filter herself. I also loved Parker and how he didn't care what people thought of him, but that was also a trait that changed a course in his life without him even knowing. Miscommunication is especially tough when you're young.

The banter was great, and so many laughs were had because of the side characters and the relationship between Parker and Lily’s little brother Ethan was the sweetest :)

This was a second chance love story that I rooted for the whole time.

Memories of You was an absolutely perfect second chance romance. I was very excited to be getting Lily and Parker's story because I've been looking forward to it for a bit! They're unbelievably sweet, and I wholeheartedly believe that they're perfect for one another. I love a good friends to lovers trope, and this was an amazing example of that, even with the quirks along the way!

Shout out to the narrators: Brandon Francis and Savannah Thomas! They each did an absolutely amazing job of bringing these characters and story to life! ✨️ Now that I've gotten the hang of it, I had so much fun immersion reading for the second time ever!

Side Note: I absolutely love Jerry Lee<3

This was such a cute second chance romance. Parker has always been down bad for Lilly and that doesn’t change when she comes home (a$$hole Aaron in tow) to help her aunt rebuild her salon.
Childhood best friends turned sweethearts, a cute country small town, a hunky firefighter, a sweary bird, an FMC with no filter and no shame, and one bed (of a truck) are hitting just right in the third book on this series.
Thank you Madi Danielle and Smuthood for the Advaced Listener Copy of this dual narration book. The performance was great and I’d recommend it.

So this was a cute and quick read with a bit of angst, which was what I was looking for. Overall, I enjoyed Parker and lilys story but found some things to be confusing or I wish had been further explained. For instance, Bailey and lilys friendship was confusing to me since whenever they hung out, it seemed more forced and like they were acquaintances rather than besties. I also wished there was further explanation on Parker’s so called promiscuity and why he let everyone believe that. Parker was probably my fav of all, although the Jerry Lee comes in a close second. I didn’t hate lily but also didn’t love her either, esp when she was with Aaron who made her feel small even when she claims she’s a bad bitch. For me personally, I just didn’t mesh with lilys personality and quirks. But overall, a quick read with plenty of steamy scenes (they were the best part of the entire book imo)

3.5! Thank you Smuthood for the ARC of Memories of You. I listened to the audiobook and that’s a reason I am lowering the rating. I wasn’t a fan of the male narrator for some reason. He was a little too intense for my liking, but otherwise it was good. The story was very sweet as I am always a sucker for a second chance romance. I’m from Washington so I enjoyed the references to the PNW even though the small town is not real, I could almost imagine it. The characters definitely had strong chemistry that you could feel. The progression of the story had a nice flow, but I also feel that the story dragged a bit from half way on. I also felt a little cringe with the spicy 🌶️ scenes, but that could have been the narrator.

Paris Rona's ARC review!

After reading Scars of You, I knew the next book in the Amity series was going to be great. This was one of my most anticipated books this year. When I saw the tension between Parker and Lily, I was immediately like "YES! I NEED IT!!!"

With that being said, this book had tons of twists and turns and was heartbreaking and heartwarming all at once! Miss Madi Danielle did not come to play.

We get the backstory of why there's animosity between Parker and Lily throughout the book, and of course miscommunication is always at the scene of the crime. After a building fire that messes up her aunt's business (iykyk), Parker and Lily get reunited after seven years and at first it seems like they have history and they dislike each other, and later we find out that they used to date but Lily left to go to college, and is later revealed to have wanted to come back to their small town Amity before catching Parker with his hands around another girl >:( so that ended that.

So naturally, as a reader, I had Parker ON NOTICE. But he redeems himself beautifully little by little, showing himself to be an extraordinary firefighter, kind friend, and an amazing lover. His relationship with Ethan, Lily's 12 year old brother, is so cute, and wholesome, and probably my favorite non-romantic relationship in the book aside from the sisterhood of Bailey, Sutton and Lily. He's such a good role model, and the way he tries to make Ethan feel better through his bullying is commendable (but we all know he was there to run into Lily as well lmao). The way he defended Lily against her abusive boyfriend (and then when he's her ex) was swoon worthy. When he lowers Lily's boundaries little by little, until she finally lets him in and encourages her to be herself/lifts up her self-esteem...ugh. I LOVE HIM YOUR HONOR HE IS FORGIVENN!!!!

Lily also does a lot of growth throughout the book. She acknowledges her misconception of Parker as a flirt who has a hard time with commitment, when really he's a cinnamon roll MMC. She slowly starts letting Parker integrate into her life and comes out of her shell a lot more and improves her relationship with her family and friends in the process. She fosters a dog, and names it Tulips, after Parker bought her tulips (her favorite flowers!) and overall seems to grown as a person by the end of the book. After that devastating barn fire, in which Parker and Ethan get seriously hurt, she decides to stop questioning Parker's role in her life, and decides to move in with him permanently, recognizing that life is too short to spend even more time without the person you love. Her strength and resilience through that ordeal (plus she had just found out she was pregnant!) really solidified her into one of my top FMC's of all time.

The chemistry between both characters was electrifying. The smut was incredibly hot and the banter was great. Their relationship developed through the sex, and really showed how they were friends first and foremost, and lovers second. Through those scenes, readers get to explore how Parker and Lily's feelings for each other change over time. I loved the flashback scenes exploring their relationship as burgeoning adults in the beginning of their journeys.

The ending wrecked me but I had to trust the HEA!! I loved how her friends and family rallied behind her to support her through that horrible time. Secretly, her whole family had always been Team Parker and I respect them so much for that. I love how Parker is protective of her and doesn't dull her shine. While her ex would criticize Lily for not having a filter, and speaking her mind, Parker lets her express herself and supports her behind the scenes. When she spilled the beans about her pregnancy, his reaction was so heartwarming. And then the proposal scenes just sealed the deal for me, and knew that everything in the end fell into place.

They were made for each other, and I hope to see more of Parker and Lily (and Wes/Bailey and Sutton/Jameson and Ethan) in the future!!

Thank you Madi Danielle for the ARC and I can't wait to read the next book!

3.75⭐️ 2🌶️ ARC REVIEW 📖 MEMORIES OF YOU 📖 by Madi Danielle ✨ This is book 3 in the Amity series. I enjoyed Lily and Parker’s second chance at love. Lily has been told she’s too much and a lot to handle, and I can relate to that. It’s healing to see her have Parker in her life because he doesn’t want to change her. He doesn’t view her as being too much, he loves her exactly as she is. I loved the flashbacks because it helped me understand their bond. I was rooting for Parker because he was obsessed with Lily, and determined to do what it takes and for however long it takes to win her back. Their connection slowly grew, which was relatable and I believed in their HEA. Overall a good, cute read with witty banter and nice slow-burn spice.

“All I could think about were memories of you."

Lily (he calls her Lil) and Parker were high school sweethearts but she left for college 6 years ago and broke his heart when she broke up with him. She’s back in town (with her boyfriend) and trying not to let Parker’s nearness effect her. Which is difficult when he’s around every corner she turns, and insists on giving her a hard time, smirking, and winking 😉 at her. 🤣 For Parker, she’s the one that got away - his best friend and first love. She wants to avoid him but he plans on seeing her as often as possible. 🤭 She literally can’t get away from him - He’s always at her house or her work.

He’s loved her since he was 15, when they were best friends and he didn’t want to tell her and ruin their friendship. He loves flustering her, getting under her skin, riling her up. She thinks she’s too much but he insists she’s not, that she’s perfect - he soothes her insecurities. She says whatever comes to mind, and some people think she’s odd/weird for the random things she says, but Parker loves it. He adores her, quirks and all. He’d do anything for her. She says the most outlandish things and he just says ‘I love you’ and he really means it. 🥹 He sees her, understands her, gets her better than anyone, and loves her unconditionally.

🚒💔 First love, broken hearts, and a second chance that never truly stopped burning. 💔🚒

Rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐☆ (4/5)
Spice-meter: 🌶️🌶️🌶️☆☆ (3/5)
Audiobook: 🎧 Duet
Series: Amity, Book 3 (interconnected standalone)
HEA: Yes

Memories of You was my first Madi Danielle book, and it definitely won’t be my last. With familiar characters from earlier books making appearances throughout the story, this felt like stepping into a world that already has strong foundations, and now I’m genuinely curious to go back and explore the rest of the series.

What stood out most here was the emotion. This isn’t just another second-chance romance where two exes reconnect and immediately fall back into bed. It’s a story about grief, timing, unresolved hurt, and what happens when life forces you back to the person you never truly got over.

And honestly? It worked. This book is flirty, funny, heartfelt and surprisingly emotional in all the right ways.

The Story

Lily and Parker were each other’s first everything. First love. First heartbreak. First person they imagined forever with.

Then Lily left and in doing so, shattered both of their hearts.

Years later, tragedy brings Lily back home to Amity, forcing her to face the town she left behind and the man she never truly stopped loving. Parker may be hurt, but one thing has never changed: his feelings for Lily. Even when she pushed him away, even when she acted like she hated him, he still wanted her.

And now that she’s back? He has no intention of letting history repeat itself.

Their relationship carries years of history, unresolved pain, and so much yearning that you can feel it in every interaction. The push and pull between them feels authentic because neither of them can simply forget what happened—but the connection between them is impossible to deny.

This story balances emotional heaviness with humor and warmth beautifully, making their reunion feel earned instead of rushed.

What I Loved

✔️ Friends-to-lovers-to-heartbreak-to-second-chance done well
✔️ Small-town setting that feels warm and familiar
✔️ Parker’s unwavering “it’s always been you” energy
✔️ Strong emotional payoff with plenty of yearning
✔️ Banter that keeps heavier moments balanced
✔️ A romance that feels sweet, spicy, and deeply wholesome

🎧 Narration

Performed in duet by Brandon Francis and Savannah Thomas and they absolutely nailed this audiobook.

Brandon brings so much warmth, longing, and quiet devotion to Parker that it’s impossible not to fall for him. Savannah captures Lily’s grief, vulnerability, and emotional conflict beautifully, making her journey feel incredibly real.

Together, they bring so much emotional depth to the story that I genuinely could not stop listening. I finished this almost in one sitting and completely ignored my responsibilities which feels like a fair trade, frankly.

Tropes & Vibes

✔️ Small-Town Romance
✔️ Second Chance Romance

✔️ Enemies to Lovers Energy

✔️ It’s Always Been You

Final Thoughts

Memories of You delivers exactly what second-chance romance readers want: history, heartbreak, chemistry, and a love story that feels impossible to walk away from.

Lily and Parker feel like true soulmates messy, imperfect, deeply connected soulmates, and watching them fight their way back to each other was both emotional and incredibly satisfying.

Sweet, spicy, heartfelt, and full of longing, this was such a strong introduction to Madi Danielle’s writing and now I absolutely need the rest of the Amity series.

MF Second Chance Romance

Great read!!!!
I have read the other books in this series and have been waiting for Lily’s story but I wasn’t sure about Parker but only because of his reputation since she left…… but I didn’t even need to worry because after reading this I learned that Parker is absolutely perfect and can do no wrong….. well except not stopping everyone from spreading untruths about him.
Their chemistry was off the charts, their banter was hilarious, their friend group was amazing (so great to see everyone again) and the angst was perfect. There’s also some emotional moments so be prepared. This is a slow burn but it was spicy, Lily and Parker were definitely making up for lost time.

Lily left Amity for college leaving Parker behind. He never knew why she started ignoring him and giving him the cold shoulder. Now she’s back years later with a boyfriend in tow. He thinks now is the time to try and win her back…

Lily is unapologetically herself, she loves to blurt out whatever is on her mind no matter how weird or odd…… and the only one to truly ever get her and take her as she was without making her feel small or acting annoyed was and is Parker. Again, Parker is perfect.
He’s a lot more mature than people give him credit for, even at 18 when he knew he had to let her go experience life outside of Amity. He always wanted her back but was never really sure if it would happen but all he wanted was for her to be happy, with or without him.

Jerry Lee learned some new words 🤣 it was so funny when Lily said ‘Now I know how Sutton felt’.

No cheating, no OWD, no third act breakup with a HEA.

‘If someone has taken her away from me, what I said is true. No one could ever replace her in my life. Lily is my once in a lifetime. Even if I’m not hers anymore.’

‘He waited when he didn’t even know if I would come back. He waited even when I was a jerk to him at every turn. Even now, he’s never made me feel bad about anything that’s happened. He’s still Parker, my best friend. My first love. Maybe my only real love.’

“Guess it’s safe to say we really are meant to be, huh?” I tell him. “I never doubted that for a second.” I look to the side, breaking our eye contact. “Me either.” Parker chuckles. “It’s okay if you weren’t sure. I was sure for the both of us.”

‘I don’t know how I thought anyone could love me like Parker. No one has and no one could. This man is everything to me. He gets me better than anyone and he loves me unconditionally even when I push him away. Even when I’m at my worst, he’s loved me through it all.’

“You’re everything to me. You light up every room you walk into. You’re my first love, my only love. You’re the mother of my future child. I love you so much. There was a time I didn’t think I could be good enough for you, and sometimes I think that may still be true. But I promise you I’m going to make sure I’m worthy of every beautiful moment you give me for the rest of our lives.”

I feel so lucky to have experienced this story both ways. ARC in my hands and ALC in my ears and I would 100% recommend doing both if you can. Memories of You came to life in the best way.

Madi Danielle absolutely delivered with this one. Memories of You is definitely my favorite in the series!

The narration by Savannah Thomas and Brandon Francis was amazing and they really brought Parker and Lily to life!

This book was a 5 star read for me! One minute I’m smiling at their banter and the next I’m sitting there feeling all the feels. The tension, the history, the way some people just never really leave you. I relate to that so much. Second chance will always be one of my top favs!

Lily is quick, emotional, says whatever pops into her head.

“My mouth moves faster than I can register what I’m saying.”

I felt that. I see so much of myself in her. I have had to dim my light for people before like I see Lily do in the beginning of this book and I can’t say enough how good it feels to have a man who sees me.

Like Parker sees Lily.

I loved her internal dialogue because it felt real, like her brain never slows down. She’s witty, funny, loving, and just so naturally herself in every moment. And the way she is with animals!! I loved that so much. It just shows how big her heart is without her even trying.

Parker… yeah. This man. 🫠🫠🫠

“I’ll never give up when I want something. And I want her.” Yes please!!

Firefighter, small town golden boy, confident, a little cocky, but completely gone for her. The kind of guy who teases nonstop but underneath it is fully obsessed. He never really moved on and you feel that in everything he does. Protective, loyal, and just the right amount of unhinged when it comes to her. Also the tension with him? Insane. The way he pushes her buttons but also knows her better than anyone… so sexy 🤌🏼

Their dynamic is everything.

The way he sees her, really sees her, and lets her stay wild instead of trying to change her. That’s it for me.

Their banter was such a huge win. Lily is my spirit animal.

Parker does not let up. He knows exactly how to get under her skin and he does it on purpose every single time.

Lily tries so hard to act unaffected but she is absolutely spiraling inside and I loved every second of it.

Parker and Ethan. That was everything. The way he shows up for her family just adds another layer to who he is.

And Franki the orange cat… obsessed. Feisty little girl.

Also the random chaos?? The bird yelling “Hunky Parker” & “Jizz” had me dying 😂

˚.༄ Thank you to the author Madi Danielle and The Smuthood for the provided eARC and ALC in exchange for an honest review! 💌 ꒷·˚ ༘

5 ⭐️

This book was everything I needed and having both the eARC AND the ALC made it a hundred times better!! 🙏🏼 The narrators chosen are a perfect match for Lily and Parker and made the immersive reading experience a 10/10. I also really enjoyed the writing style, it made for a quick and easy, yet really really good read! 🥰

Our FMC, Lily, left her home town to go to college. She (kind of) breaks up with her then boyfriend, Parker, and pursues her education and afterwards life in the city. She’s kind of quirky and chaotic in the best way and I just love how she always speaks her mind and lets her emotions show. A lot of characters nowadays have issues with clear communication and I get it, we all do. But I really appreciated her honesty and how her brain works! 🌞🫶🏼 I giggled quite a few times at her sudden outbursts. She also has the cutest dog, Tulips, and I love that she teaches Jerry Lee (her aunts bird) all kinds of funny words. The little glimpses we got into her life as a nurse in the ER were also really interesting and I’m glad there wasn’t a lot of medical jargon - I wouldn’t have understood a thing. 🤣🙏🏼

Our MMC, Parker, makes it known from the second he lays his eyes on Lily again that he wants her back and is giving everything he has. I love his honesty with Lily from the get-go and how he takes all her anger like a champ (let’s be honest, he definitely deserves some of that pent-up anger). He’s hell bent on “getting his girl back” and I was literally swooning over this fictional man trying to woo his childhood best friend turned teenage sweetheart turned ex-girlfriend. 🫠🌸 And I was rooting for him!! Like - dang right, go get her tiger! The way he remembers every little detail about her is just mind blowing. And the glimpses we got into his memories about old times? I’m melting. 🥹 I also loved his relationship with Lily’s brother. He was willing to take on the big brother role and I think he executed that perfectly. The way he protects Ethan because he’s Lily’s family? I can’t. 🙌🏼

I also don’t really get why some of the other reviews are so bad? Like - they were teenagers when they started drifting apart and their story went to sh!t. He didn’t have to stay celibate for her, yet he did (and she didn’t, mind you). They both have the right to live out their respective lives, be it with other people or not, and like Lily said: if they’re meant to be they’ll be. 💌

𝐖𝐇𝐀𝐓 𝐓𝐎 𝐄𝐗𝐏𝐄𝐂𝐓:
🌷 Nurse FMC
🔥 Firefighter MMC
🌷 Small town
🔥 Second chance
🌷 Always been you
🔥 A lot of yearning
🌷 Some cute animal friends
🔥 No third act breakup (preach🙏🏼🙏🏼)
🌷 Found family

Memories of You (Amity Book 3)
By Madi Danielle

5⭐️/3.5🌶️

I am a huge fan of the Amity series. Madi has a way of making each and every character stand out on their own. She doesn't needed to repeat traits and each story line is its own.

Lily and Parker... these two are the epitome of "It's always been you". I'm such a sucker for a second chance romance. Especially when no one is OVERLY angry for no reason and holds a grudge for 70% of the book. There was a small misunderstanding which was brought up a few times but once the air was cleared, it was cleared.

Lily and Parker felt so natural together. I didn't have to wonder if they were going to make it or if one was more devoted than the other to the relationship. They were so deeply tied to each other from the beginning and stayed that way no matter how much time passed.

I could feel Lily's guilt and slight hesitation. She thought she had a reason to be angry and while she did play that card for a bit, she didn't let her anger overshadow the fact that she had always been able to trust Parker and she didn't need to question if he was telling the truth or not. There were a few moments where I wanted to shake her and say "JUST TELL HIM WHY YOU'RE UPSET! LET HIM EXPLAIN!" but it didn't reach the point of being annoying so we forgave her for that.

Annnnd Parker? Don't get me started. That man is the very definition of a one woman, man. I don't think there is a man in the real world who has the patience or loyalty that he has for Lily. My heart melted and I was immediately in his corner. Team Parker. He's wasn't loud about his feelings for Lily but he didn't need to be. His actions screamed it for him.

I loved the short lived tension and once they moved past the past, it was all golden for them. When the walls start to crumble down, the spice stays at a solid 3.5 for the rest of the book. It's emotional and intimate and it really matched their history together.

Overall, what stood out for me was the emotion. This wasn't just a second chance/small town romance. This was about coming back to something you thought you'd lost forever. It was about timing, healing and figuring out if love was enough the second time around.

This series has been amazing. But let's be so for real...the star of the entire series is Mr. Jerry Lee. If you know, you know.

Thank you so much Madi for sending this eARC and allowing me to be part of the ARC team for this series! I've loved every single second of it!

A sweet second chance finale to the Amity world and another fantastically performed audio! Like the others this was full of heart, A LOT of spice, and a town full of friends with lots of cozy vibes. Sweet and heartfelt and such a tender romance.

Lily is such a force in the best way. She’s bold, a little chaotic, completely unfiltered, and unapologetically herself. I loved that Parker never once tried to shrink her or shape her into something else. He just sees her. Fully. Completely. And that alone makes their connection feel so real. There’s always been something between them, even when everything around them says it shouldn’t still exist.

This is second chance romance at its most emotionally charged. There’s history here that never really went away, just got buried under time, hurt, and everything they never got to say. The tension between them is constant, but what really stands out is the longing underneath it all. The banter is sharp and fun, but it’s those quieter moments that carry the most weight, the ones where you can feel how much they still mean to each other even when they’re trying not to.

I also really appreciated how the past is woven in. The flashbacks aren’t overwhelming or disruptive, they feel more like snapshots that deepen everything happening in the present. They add context without pulling you out of the story, and honestly, without them, I don’t think I would have felt as connected to Lily and Parker as a couple. Young love here is messy and sweet and heartbreaking in all the right ways, and it makes their present-day choices hit harder.

That said, not every storyline choice fully clicked for me, and there were moments I questioned where things were going, especially once these two got together. It seemed like there wasn't much to resolve. I also don't love PROLONGED miscommunication (or here lack of it) and assumptions that could easily be resolved, and this story is really built on that. It makes it easy for them to get back together, but it also makes the distance and heartache feel unnecessary and a bit trite. But even with that, I stayed invested the entire time. There’s an emotional pull to these two that just works, even when the path getting there feels a little chaotic. And once they start choosing each other in the present, it becomes really satisfying to watch them actually rebuild instead of just reliving the past. And the romance is super sweet.

The side relationships also added a lot, especially Parker’s connection with Ethan. Loved seeing all the other couples and characters too. Overall, this one is emotional, a little messy, occasionally dramatic, but ultimately very satisfying. I didn’t love every single choice, but I loved the experience of reading it and how invested I stayed in Lily and Parker’s story from start to finish.

The audios for these have also been really good, this one with narration by Brandon Francis and Savannah Thomas. They brought out the emotion in both characters without overdoing anything, and the flow felt natural and easy to stay immersed in. Their performances kept me fully engaged and made the emotional moments land even harder, and I'm excited to see more of them since they were newer narrators to me.

Thank you to Madi Danielle and Smuthood for the ARC & ALC.

There’s something about returning to a small-town series you already love that feels like stepping back into a place that remembers you and Memories of You absolutely delivered that feeling.

This story hit that perfect balance between emotional and comforting. It’s soft and funny in places, but underneath it all is this steady thread of grief, longing, and unfinished love that gives the story real weight.

Lily and Parker were everything I wanted them to be and more. Lily is chaotic in the best way, completely unfiltered, and emotionally honest to a fault. Her inner dialogue feels so real, like her brain never slows down, and I found myself relating to her more than I expected. There’s something powerful about watching a character who has dimmed herself for others slowly come back into her own.

And Parker… I was not prepared. He’s the definition of quietly devoted. He never stopped loving her, and you feel that in every interaction. What I loved most is that he doesn’t try to change Lily, he meets her exactly where she is and supports her without hesitation. That kind of love? It hits differently.

Their history is layered and messy in a way that makes their reconnection feel earned. This isn’t a quick fall back into each other, it’s about working through hurt, timing, and everything left unsaid. The tension between them builds so naturally, and when it finally shifts, it feels worth it.

The banter was one of my favorite parts. It’s sharp, funny, and full of that familiar energy of people who know each other too well. I found myself laughing one minute and then suddenly sitting with a much heavier emotion the next.

I also had the chance to experience this as an audiobook, and the narration added so much depth. Brandon Francis and Savannah Thomas brought these characters to life in such a natural way. Brandon’s portrayal of Parker carries this warmth and quiet longing that makes him impossible not to love, while Savannah captures Lily’s emotional complexity beautifully.

What stood out most for me was how emotional this story felt without ever becoming overwhelming. It’s about second chances, but also about growth, healing, and learning to come back to yourself and to someone who never really let you go.

Who this is for: If you love second-chance romance with emotional depth, strong character dynamics, small-town settings, and a hero who has always been all in… this one will absolutely work for you.

If you’re already deep in the Amity Series feels, this one is going to hit in the best way.

Memories of You by Madi Danielle is the third book in the Amity Series, and after the emotional rollercoaster of Wes and Bailey, it was honestly so nice to settle into Parker and Lily’s second-chance romance.

Lily and Parker have that been-in-each-other’s-lives-forever kind of history - thanks to their moms being best friends, they’ve literally known each other since birth. First loves, first everything … the whole foundation is there. But when Lily decides she wants more for herself and plans to leave for college, she delays telling Parker, and when it finally comes out, it breaks him. Still, he loves her enough to let her go - because denying her dreams was never an option for him. (Yes, he’s that guy.)

They part on relatively okay terms, but when we jump to present day, Lily’s back - and she’s carrying a lot of resentment toward Parker. It’s not immediately clear what went down, which definitely keeps you hooked trying to piece it all together. She’s back home, working as an ER nurse nearby, and trying to convince her current boyfriend that this is where she wants to build a life … even though it’s obvious she’s not exactly thriving.

Meanwhile, Parker? He never moved on. He’s still close with her family (especially her younger brother 🥹), and the second he finds out Lily’s back, he’s ready to fight for her … but only if she’s not truly happy. And spoiler: she’s really not.

Watching them slowly find their way back to each other - and honestly realize they never fully fell out of love - was so soft and satisfying. Parker is peak golden retriever MMC energy: loyal, patient, and so selfless it almost hurts. Everything he does when it comes to Lily just gets you.

I also loved how the flashbacks were woven throughout the story. They added so much depth and really built that emotional connection, showing you exactly why these two matter so much to each other.

The only tiny thing for me was the ending felt a little rushed - but if I’m being honest, it’s probably because I didn’t want to leave their story yet.

Overall, another solid, emotional, and swoony read from Madi Danielle. If you love second chances, childhood sweethearts, and a hero who would quite literally do anything for his girl … this one’s for you. 💛

Let me go ahead and just hit ya in the feels!
𝙇𝙞𝙡𝙮 𝙞𝙨 𝙢𝙮 𝙤𝙣𝙘𝙚 𝙞𝙣 𝙖 𝙡𝙞𝙛𝙚𝙩𝙞𝙢𝙚. 𝙀𝙫𝙚𝙣 𝙞𝙛 𝙄’𝙢 𝙣𝙤𝙩 𝙝𝙚𝙧𝙨 𝙖𝙣𝙮𝙢𝙤𝙧𝙚.

Ok now that we’re on the same emotional page, wow! I have been anxiously awaiting Parker and Lily’s story since they were first introduced in this series and Madi delivered one of my most favorite second chance romances I’ve read! This book had everything I could want! Banter, witty remarks, tension, yearning and pining, healing and comfort and so much swoony romance!
Parker is the probably the greenest green flag boyfriend I have ever read! THIS MAN!! He has lived Lily for years, they were child hood best friends turned lovers. They were each other’s first everything! And when Lily wanted to go off to college and not stay in Amity what did this king do.. he let her go so she’d be happy. He never stopped loving her!

Lily is sunshine and chaos mixed into a ball energy! I loved her and her crazy personality! She says the most hilarious random things that just make her, her.
“Are you calling him daddy?” Sutton snickers. “Does anyone else you know give that energy?”
“Pedro Pascal,” -Lily 🤣

She’s back in town and after being around Parker for a while old feelings start to emerge again. She dumps her “A$$hole Aaron” (Jerry Lee the 🦜had me cracking up) boyfriend and it’s not long before she realizes just how much she missed Parker and how she deserves to be treated. There is some minor miscommunication and misunderstandings that is why she pushed Parker away but after it’s discussed they both fully open back up to each other and it’s just beautiful!

I also love a firefighter x nurse dynamic and loved the caretaking trope in this book. Also the adorable friendship between Parker and Lily’s little brother- swoon! This book exceeded my expectations! It’s heartwarming, endearing and has plenty of spice!
Their chemistry together was of two soul mates crashing back into each other.

ꜱʜᴇ ᴄᴏᴜʟᴅ ꜱᴛᴇᴘ ᴀʟʟ ᴏᴠᴇʀ ᴍᴇ ᴀɴᴅ ɪ ᴡᴏᴜʟᴅ ᴛʜᴀɴᴋ ʜᴇʀ ꜰᴏʀ ɪᴛ.

If you love second chance romance, “it’s always been you” , friend to lovers to enemies to lovers the you will want to read this!

✨ ALC Review ✨
Memories of You by Madi Danielle
🎧 Narrated by Brandon Francis & Savannah Thomas
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Thank you to Madi Danielle and The Smuthood for the ALC!

This was such a sweet, emotional second-chance romance that honestly felt like the perfect palette cleanser.

We follow Lily and her high school sweetheart Parker first love, first everything. When Lily leaves for college, it’s hard on both of them, but Parker ultimately lets her go because he knows she deserves to chase more. Things take a turn when Lily comes back to surprise him and sees something that looks like betrayal… but it’s actually a huge misunderstanding. Instead of talking it out, she ghosts him and moves on with her life.

Fast forward, life brings her back home after her aunt’s shop burns down, and of course… Parker is right there (as a firefighter 👀). The tension, the history, the unresolved feelings it’s all still there.

I really liked how this leaned into that small-town, “it’s always been you” kind of love. Parker was giving protective, flirty, low key obsessed energy, and I ate that up. Everyone thinks he’s the town playboy, but the truth? Yeah… not so much. That man has been down bad for her the entire time.

Lily’s boyfriend while she’s away? Immediate no. The way he talked down about her, her town it just made it that much easier to root for Parker.

The story itself is pretty quick and easy to get through, and the pacing worked well for what it was. It didn’t feel overly heavy, just emotional enough without dragging things out.

🎧 The narration (Brandon Francis & Savannah Thomas) really brought it to life. Both narrators did a great job capturing the emotions and personalities of Lily and Parker, especially the tension and longing between them.

And yes… there is a pregnancy trope (more of a surprise pregnancy), which I personally love.

Overall, this was cute, flirty, a little emotional, and perfect if you need a break between heavier/darker reads.

Tropes:
• Small town romance
• High school sweethearts
• Second chance
• Friends to lovers
• “It’s always been you”
• Firefighter x nurse
• Protective MMC
• Surprise pregnancy
• Miscommunication
• Slow burn / yearning
