I’m broken. Destroyed. My life ended on that train platform, and a fresh rage arose in me.

I won’t take it anymore. Not from Rafael, not from anybody. I won’t be the doormat, the victim, the object, anymore.

My life ended that day, but I’ve been slowly bleeding out for months, dying with every breath under my husband’s thumb.

But not anymore. The desire for revenge is eating me alive, consuming my thoughts.

With Theo at my side, let vengeance reign.

Til death we part, Rafael.

Til Death We Part is part 2 of the Til Death duology, and will conclude Theo and Violet’s story. With pitch black themes and content, read with caution.

Part 1 was all about the FMC doing nothing and crying for Theo, and as much as my heart cried for her, after a while it got on my nerves. I mean yeah the author wanted to show that in her bleak life, Theo gave her the hope to keep fighting and living, but the way it was so repetitive, overshadowed FMC's struggles and her courage, rather it kept highlighting Theo, even when it wasn't certainly not needed. I will be sounding insensitive but by the infinite time she was hoping for Theo to do something, I was begging her to end her life. I also don't know why the author decided that this has to be an incest story..... Like most of the times I was able to tune it out but when ever he was saying little sister during their sex time, all my mood went downhill. I found Theo to be pathetic initially but by the end of the duet he was holding the whole story on his shoulders. The way the characters were made, made it feel shallow. Honestly yeah people have different ways to heal but a girl being gang raped and tortured and brutalized for days, begging for fucking from her lover, is not only something that's very difficult to grasp but is legitly physically almost impossible, with all the injuries that were sustained. Atleast this MMC that much sense. This book had a lot of potential but along the lines it did fumble badly. There have been better pitch black books, that showed the trauma and pains of the mcs without the continuous mentioning of dependence on each other, and the painful road towards healing, without adding sex.

Til Death We Part is book 2 and the sequel to To Have and to Hold. These books are extreme taboo novels with an extensive list of triggers, so please read and be mindful of what your consenting to reading before you dive in. Hazel doesn't shy away from the dark and depraved, rather leans into it and take you on a journey of pain and sacrifice, chaos and violence, and a revenge journey so brutal its becomes cathartic and allows Violet to begin her healing journey.
Book 2 picked up exactly where we left off and Violet's rage is finally showing itself. This book was the retribution we were waiting for. Violet transforms from a broken girl to a feral women who will stop at nothing to dish out the pain she received ten-fold. Theo is there to support her in any and every way he can. He replaces the horror she endured with moments of pain given with a tenderness to balance and heal. He is soft and patient. He allows her control and becomes a vessel for her needs. His devotion has no bounds. Together they vow kill the men that hurt Violet and the chaos that follows is exquisite. It is brutal and bloody and that final dining room scene had me in a chokehold! Violet emerges a phoenix. " The woman who'd walked out of the flames of her marriage was black-souled, embers smoldering, ready to set alight any second. I saw her." This was the hardest earned HEA's I've ever read and it was the perfect conclusion to their story. Looking forward to Raphael's continued torture when we get into Christian and Riley's story.

I was lucky enough to ARC & Alpha read this book and I've been waiting to talk about it!!!

I didn’t think Hazel could hit harder than To Have and To Hold, but Til Death We Part absolutely proved me wrong. This book got under my skin in a way I wasn’t prepared for. I loved the first one, but this? This is the one that made me stop, breathe, and really feel everything Violet was going through. It’s dark, emotional, and so full of raw female rage that I swear I felt every heartbeat of it.

Violet’s journey in this book meant everything to me. Watching her shift from a girl who was trying to survive into a woman who finally decides she’s taking her power back, no matter the cost was honestly beautiful. Painful, messy, violent… but beautiful. There were moments where I just had to sit with her anger and her hurt because Hazel writes those emotions so vividly that they almost feel like your own. Violet doesn’t just get revenge. She reclaims every part of herself that was stolen, and watching her do it felt cathartic.

Theo in this book is a whole different kind of intense. The devotion, the obsession, the way he moves with Violet instead of trying to shape her or calm her down it just works. Their connection is dark and twisted and absolutely not “normal,”(TABOOOOOOO) but it’s theirs. And somehow the more unhinged they get, the more it feels like they’re finally choosing each other fully. Their emotional bond hit me harder this time around because it felt like they were finally meeting as equals in the darkness instead of one dragging the other through it.

This sequel isn’t just violent or taboo, it’s emotional in a way that sneaks up on you. It’s not about shock value(there is one scene though that got me). It’s about everything Violet’s been carrying finally spilling over and her deciding she’s done being afraid. It’s about healing in the only language she was ever given. It’s about finding strength where there used to be nothing but hurt, and Hazel captured all of that so perfectly that I’m still thinking about it.

Getting to Alpha and ARC read this book was honestly such an honor. Experiencing Violet’s rise early made it feel personal, like I was watching her rebuild herself in real time. This is easily one of the strongest, most emotionally charged finales to a dark taboo romance duet I’ve read this year.

And now I’m counting down the days until Rafael gets what’s coming to him.

4.5 stars!

My feelings about the first book, To Have and to Hold, were mixed. It was good, but it left me with so many questions and a massive cliffhanger.

That's why I absolutely loved Book 2! All of my questions were finally answered, and I got so much more than I expected. It was incredibly satisfying to watch Violet's emergence from who she was in Book 1; I was rooting for her big time. I also enjoyed getting to know the MMC, Theo, on a deeper level.

As a reminder, this is a Taboo Romance, so please check the content warnings, this duet has just as many as the first. This duet is absolutely worth adding to your TBR!

Till Death We Part by Hazel Black – ARC Review

I was lucky enough to get an ARC of Till Death We Part, releasing on the 8th of December 2025, and wow… this book is easily one of the darkest, most taboo stories I’ve ever read. I rated it five stars, but before anything else:

🚨 CHECK THE TRIGGER WARNINGS 🚨

Seriously. This one goes to some incredibly heavy places, and making sure you’re in the right headspace is so important for your mental health and stability.

What really stood out to me was the way Hazel Black handled Violet’s trauma. It’s raw, disturbing, and never sugar-coated, but it also shows how she slowly draws strength from everything she’s endured. Watching her rebuild herself, not neatly, not perfectly, but powerfully was one of the strongest parts of the book.

The added element of the taboo between Violet and Theo was just 🥵🥵🥵

And the revenge? Absolutely satisfying. Every person who wronged her gets what’s coming, and Violet steps into that darkness with purpose. It’s cathartic, brutal, and gripping from start to finish.

A brilliantly crafted, pitch-black story that sticks with you long after you’re done.

There is no getting away from the fact that this book is pitch black and completely taboo. But if you go into it knowing that then you should be prepared. Violet went through the worst things a human can in book one and in book two she is finally able to take her power back and avenge her torment. While this book is dark and there really is no light the story is so well told. The way that violet heals through love and vengeance and time really shows how true healing is, sometimes it’s dark and messy, sometimes it’s quite sad but it all builds together to help her heal. There is a HEA but it is hard fought and the road is paved in blood and pain. I loved this book but please head the warnings and take care of your mental health. 4-4.5.

The second book of this duet was much better in my opinion. The taboo element was very present in this one.

The revenge was on point. And Theo’s love was much more present. I very much enjoyed Theo in this book. The first book I had beef with him. I will say the ending got me like Theo you a freak 😂🥵like dang.

The real cons I had with this one was we still didn’t get much info on “the church” and what it is. Or why? It’s vague. And I felt frustrated with that.

All in all though this duet was a wild ride.

Oh man. Talk about an ending to a duet. Honestly it had my on edge the entire time, the healing, the pain, the pull on raw emotions out and the intense scenes of Violet letting the rage loose. What a ride! I absolutely loved reading about Violet and Theo, becoming more than they should and doing nothing but wanting the other shine and be free and happy. Just beautiful in all its darkness.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ ARC Review — Til Death We Part by Hazel Black

Til Death We Part is the definition of pitch-black romance— disturbing, taboo, and utterly consuming. Hazel Black once again proves she’s fearless when it comes to exploring the darkest corners of obsession, trauma, and love.

This sequel not only lives up to To Have and To Hold— it does it justice in every possible way. Where book one broke me, this one buried me and still managed to make me feel. Hazel didn’t just continue the story; she completed it with purpose and precision.

Violet’s transformation is nothing short of feral. She’s no longer surviving; she’s taking back her power in the most unapologetic, haunting ways. And Theo… he’s the perfect storm of devotion, madness, and danger. Together, they redefine what it means to love someone in the dark to the point of destruction, to the point of no return.

This duet is not for the faint of heart. It’s for readers who crave taboo, morally ruined love stories that dare to be too much. Hazel Black doesn’t write comfort; she writes chaos, pain, and the kind of love that demands everything.

An unforgettable finale to one of the most unhinged and beautifully written dark romances I’ve ever read. Hazel, you did them justice.

Thank you for trusting me with this ARC. I’m still reeling.
And I cannot wait for the interconnected book… because Rafael’s suffering? It’s far from over. 🔥

After the really intense and rough time Violet had in the first book, I had seriously high expectations for her revenge and recovery arc. THANK THE LORD, this book gave that and so much more!! After book one finished, we immediately see the aftermath. Violet realises the only way for her to move forward is to take out everyone who was involved in tormenting her. (Girl I wish I could)

Theo was a supportive big brother (iykyk) and helps her on this mission while also lending a hand with her.. intimate recovery if you will. We got a bit of background into Violet's life before she was married off, which I really enjoyed. I did doubt whether Violet was going to pull off the revenge she was owed lol. Hazel Black you owe me and Violet therapy for all the sh*t you put us through.

You should definitely read ALL of the triggers, warnings and disclaimers. I read them and still was shocked. (Be warned there is gore and a lot of violence). Thank you Hazel for the opportunity to arc and share my honest opinion.

Violet got her revenge alright, it was hard fought but she got it, and it was so good! She found a fire no one could dowse, and she used it to burn them all to the ground. She might have been meek sometimes in the first book, in need of saving but in Till Death We Part, she saved herself. She did it bloody, violent and messy, and the rage she immitted was captivating. With Theo by her side, it was also hot as fudge. These taboo siblings really cross that line so far, it’s not even visible anymore and I loved it.

Some family dynamics, I would have loved to have seen played out on the page as well but I guess we’ll never know what would have come of that. But all in all this was a great duet to read. Characters with great dynamics and overall growth, captivating storyline and epic spice and gory scenes. What more could you want?

I read this as an ARC and it’s the prefect ending to Violet and Theo’s story! There were so many ups and downs along the way but Violet gets the revenge she deserves. The spice in this was perfect and the way it was used as healing made me love the MC’s even more. This book is full of love, hate, revenge, betrayal, and hope. The whole book you’ll be cheering for Violet to get her HEA and look past all of the gore she produces along the way (because it’s well deserved).

ARC review - I had the pleasure of reading Til Death We Part by Hazel Black. I must start off by saying this book is pitch black, taboo, and I loved every page! As with all Hazel’s books, be sure to check your trigger warnings.

I devoured this book in 24 hours. Watching Violet throughout her journey and transformation was amazing. This was the perfect follow up for To Have and To Hold. Theo was unhinged, protective and obsessed. His unyielding support of Violet was beautiful. I absolutely loved the taboo relationship.

This book proves again why Hazel Black is the queen 👑 of pitch black romance!

I loved this conclusion to Violet and Theo’s story. Violet is out for revenge and let me tell you with Theo’s help revenge she gets! All those who hurt Violet suffer in the best ways imaginable. There is so much blood, death and destruction to all those who deserve it. Theo is so understanding of Violet’s needs and only wants to see her happy and does everything in his power to see to that. With all the horrors behind them they find happiness and healing in each other’s arms. The bonus epilogue is a prelude to a story that I can’t wait for!!

ARC Review — Til Death We Part by Hazel Black 🖤
Hazel Black has officially claimed her throne as the queen of pitch-black, extreme taboo romance. No one—and I mean no one—dives into darkness like she does.
This book? It’s raw, feral, and absolutely consuming.
Where To Have and To Hold wrecked me. Til Death We Part said, You’re not done suffering yet.
Violet’s transformation left me speechless. The girl who once broke on that train platform is gone. What rises from her ashes is rage, revenge, and a terrifying kind of freedom. And Theo… he’s chaos wrapped in devotion—dangerous, unhinged, but somehow exactly what she needs.
Hazel brings the carnage the pain and obsession, that demands blood as payment and rewards you with the best kind of taboo love.
This duet isn’t just dark; it’s pitch-black. And I devoured every page like it was sin itself.
If you survived book one’s triggers, this one will hit easier but burn deeper.
Expect vengeance. Twists. And moments that make you question your sanity and your morals.
An unforgettable, brutal, and beautiful finale. Hazel, you did Violet justice—and Rafael’s story? Oh, I can’t wait to watch that man suffer.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Disturbing. Addictive. Perfectly unhinged.

Hazel Black has blown me away again. I did not know that she could continue to shock me but here again she did. I just adore her extreme taboo stories. This is your warning to go no further if this is not the kind of books you are into. She makes no apologies for the stuff she writes and I am here for it. If you decide to read this book you have agreed to the content in this story. Do not get mad at her for warning you in the beginning. Take her warnings LITERALLY! This was the conclusion to the duet. This book follows the aftermath and healing of Violet from the extreme abuse and trauma she endured at the hands of her husband. The only person who has ever loved her and made her feel safe is her brother Theo. They are both living in a world that is shrouded in family secrets, lies, abuse, manipulation, and down right hell. The only two people they can rely on is themselves. This leads to them developing a relationship that would be frowned on in the real world but as you read the books you will understand what led them both to chose this taboo relationship. Violet has been subjected to so many horrors it is a wonder she even survived in the first place. She is a survior through and through. Her brother Theo did everything in his power to get her back. Once he does, he is never letting her go. She is so traumatized that she has developed some dark tastes to cope with the trauma she had endured. Theo is more than willing to help her cope in whatever ways she needs to heal from the trauma. This book focuses on her healing and getting revenge on those that have wronged her. I cannot wait for the next book by this author. She does a fantastic job at not only writing taboo content but developing characters that you can not help but fall in love with. If you enjoy extreme taboo this book is for you. If not go ahead and skip to something more in line with your tastes.

Arc reader here! So excited to be selected to read it.

This book was such a satisfying ending to Theo and Vi's story. I love how we got to see deep into the characters' thoughts, growth, and changes that happened throughout the book. The balance of depravity and strength was great imo.
I love a completely vicious borderline frantic vigilante fmc, especially one with an equally violent yet doting man at her side.

I loved that each character was given their own ending and my questions were answered. (although I do wish I understood all the shit Connor was doing a lil better)

I enjoy when an author gives a reason for everything. I hate when random shit just happens and it feels like it was just thrown in to make the story work the way they need it to. This one didn't feel like that, her writing flows together well and her thoughts always seemed complete.

Tiny spoiler - I am so glad to see a book take into account death being an easy way out for these evil creatures we call people. I am kind of sick of seeing the villains get killed in the end and that's that for them. Maybe it's just me and I need therapy but these mfs deserve the absolute worst, they need to feel what they put these people through or I am not satisfied.

This duet was incredibly dark, yes, definitely check triggers if you have them, but I think it was done beautifully.

This is the second part of a duet that is extremely taboo and beyond dark.
After the cliff hanger in book one i was left on the edge of my seat needing to know what happens next and i finally got my answer. In book one Violet goes through the most unimaginable things anyone could go through. She was left broken, without any hope. In this we see her get that fire. We get to see her get her revenge. Oh and it’s so lovely. Theo was definitely the rock Violet needed to help heal and replace traumatic memories with things she wouldn’t be scared or ashamed of to look back at. Theo didn’t even blink before agreeing to help her get her revenge and to let this darker side of herself appear. These two got their well deserved ending and im so happy about it! Hazel Black is one of those authors who doesn’t shy away from any concept and she nails every single one! If you find yourself wanting to read something beyond dark and extremely taboo i recommend this duet. But reading the triggers and content warnings isn’t a suggestion, it’s a MUST! This is jam packed with the most crazy content and your mental health is important! This sub genre/trope of book isn’t for everyone but if it is for you, you wont be disappointed!
Thank you hazel black for not only letting me arc read book two but also book one!
Another five star to add to the list!

Revenge Has A New Name….Violet☠️

Victimized her whole life a simmering fuse is lit under Violet for revenge. She does a complete 360o from the innocent girl she was and becomes an unhinged feral monster created by her vile husband and all of his sick minions who abused her. Her tormentors are now her prey. With the help of brother Theo vengeance becomes a macabre of destruction. Theo is Violets antihero/savior who helps her manage her pain grief and suffering through her psychotic and physically deranged retribution. Very surprised by how she dealt with her nemesis her husband Rafael after all the trauma and abuse she endured by him. Somewhat poetic justice with the quiet before the storm. Extremely pitch black taboo story with intimate details that leave nothing to the imagination🥵 Theo and Violet’s family dynamics were skewed full of treachery, lies, betrayal and corruption. Gritty, violent, sadistic and gruesome wrapped up this tale of madness. A trigger warning⛔️ check is a must for anyone who wants to read this book. Definitely take heed🛑. The silver lining is that these two siblings actually do get their normal life after such a horrific beginning. This is book two of the Til Death duet for those readers who like to go beyond a dark romance read with taboo characters that add a much deeper theme. I can’t wait to read Rafael’s dark twisted story.

Revenge is best served BLOODY!!!

Hazel Black is back with the sequel to “to have and to hold” and wow what a sequel. This story has everything we have come to know, love and expect from the author. She doesn’t hold back on the hard, uncomfortable or taboo topics. This book grabbed me and dug its nails into me, my heart raced along with violets and Theo’s and ached when theirs ached. This story is extremely dark so please check your tigger warnings and if you are squeamish with reading about sexual abuse/trauma/ blood and murder then this may not be the book for you.

This was the absolute best ending to Violet's and Theo’s story. It picks up right where “to have and to hold” left off. The second half of their story is a journey of yes revenge but it is also a story of determination, healing, love and acceptance. Violet learns that her strength and healing are for her to take charge and ownership of and does she ever! Violet determination for revenge is powerful yet raw and at many times hauntingly feral but also honest and almost poetic. Her brother/lover Theo is there by her side providing love, support and also acceptance.

I received this story as an ARC and I am leaving my honest review.
