Maksim, the head of the Bratva family was murdered and his brother, Anton is determined to find out who it was with a vendetta. Even as Anton takes on the Pakhan role, he struggles to get a grip on who is responsible. He meets the daughter of the Petrov family, and can’t believe how much she has grown into a beautiful woman. Natalya, has had a secret crush on Anton since she first saw him when she was a young girl. She finally gets a chance to show him that she’s not that same little girl anymore. She suddenly realizes that she has been sheltered from all of the family business and the violence attached to it. Her father, if you call him that has never been loving, so it is not a surprise that he uses her as a pawn. Can she survive this battle of the families? Will she ever be able to fully express her feelings for Anton, and how will he react?
Great storyline with a bit of a twist. The description of the characters are very well written and very believable. I read this book in a weekend as it was suspenseful and engaging. Hope you enjoy it as much as I did.

Lydia really knows how to write a story that grabs you attention from the start and won't let you go.
A fathers love should still be there for a daughter even giving birth to her his wife died.
This never happened with Natalya his hate for her showed no bounds, kicking her out penniless and the names he called her should never be said.
Getting used to be Pakhan after his mentor was murdered still doesn't know who killed him but he will find out in matter how long it takes.
Two people each with problems of there own and getting together will bring even more problems and danger.
A truly great story with twists i wasn't ready for but it only made this story a compelling read.

The characters drove the storyline and they were very intense and complicated and perfectly steamy together. Plot was intriguing and exciting and well paced. World building was excellent and solidly drawn. Enjoyed immensely and highly recommend.

love love this!
I loved this story! I was lucky enough to finish it in one sitting! I very much disliked the father and I am so pleased with the ending. It was both spicy and sweet with the right amount of plot to spicy. Can’t wait for the next one!

Anton may be 24 years older than Natalya but this hardened man, a bratva Pakhan, needs her. A dark steamy yet sweet read with secrets too. Another great read from Ms Hall.

As far as romance is concerned it was great. I was not wild about the rough sex. He was not abusive though. Her father was sick.
