I am grinning and screaming and every emotion in between is so raw! That's how thrilling, scorching hot and brilliant this second opus was. Ms. Huss went back to writing erotica, and this was so good! The first book of the series was excellent, but this one was exceptionally intriguing and magical, both thanks to an palpable atmosphere, and thanks to relatable characters. This is a world I didn't want to leave, but we are lucky, my friends, the last book releases in a couple of days!

Unreliable Trigger Warning list
Again. Blurb says Mmc does not share- except he REALLY does share..more than once.
The same 3 guys from bk 1 go even further with the FMC during bath time as the MMC watches behind a screen & jerks off & later punishes the FMC for getting off. We are talking fingers pentrating.
Later on he gets FMC to agree to do a giant maze he designed using an idea from 1 of her books. Again, the plan is to utilize those 3 male attendants to dress up & chase her.
And again the goal was (had it gone according to plan) those males would do things to her to make her orgasm, so Mmc could & would punish her....
This is also on top of the fact that the 3 males stand & watch the MMC while he uses a cane, restraints & vibrators to bring FMC to orgasm again & again etc.
Also has real men watching thru cameras & comment on the fmc's naked body for over an hour this is voyeurism.
Mmc's thought process here.....
"I am not interested in sharing Scarletta with anyone. Not even for watching. Not even with men who are paying obscene amounts of money for the privilege. But the attendants are different.".......
What exactly is this shit the author is trying to sell here? This IS exactly the same thing, 3 guys are rubbing up your girl for hours & get her off. That's sharing.
Fine, lady it's your book. But don't outright lie to your reader's face while writing it. Also include that shit in your tw's! Exhibitionism, sharing AND voyeurism (from other men that are NOT the MMC) are NOT mentioned at all
I've put up alot with this book because 1. The writing is very good, especially the psychology of things.
2. The mmc does seem devoted to the fmc and all that kissing was awesome.
So yeah. I might finish this series because I want to see how it ends. But I can't trust any author that lists barely there tw's in every book and flat out lies to her intended audience.
Last thing.
"The men who attend my auctions are sick fucks, certainly. But so am I"..
Mmc allows sadistic, horrible men to utilize his auctions, islands & clubs to do what they will...essentially he allows other rich creeps to auction on other females they are stalking or secretly want.
I'm assuming these men are very much like the MMC, using manipulation, financial manipulation as well to steer their intended victims to the auction, so they can "bid" except there's not really any bidding since its all a set up.....so creepy stalkers get a "safe" space with their victims for some time & a lot of money..
This is inferred more than once in the MMC'S inner monologue. Though he does say that the other men have to follow the rules or he'll step in.
Maybe I missed something - it's possible. But it sounded to me that he's allowing cruel sadistic men (men worse than the mmc) full access to their victim or whoever they "bid" on? Uh what? Also I guess he's trusting that they behave or it's implied he'll kill them..
by then the damage wouldve already been done.
This is a Billionaire MMC btw - that has a full time job torturing & killing rapists & child pedophiles... WHY IS HE CATERING TO SICKOS THEN??

Such a filthy little read! It’s fast-paced, hot, and completely attention-grabbing, with an underlying plotline that keeps you turning pages.
From the very first chapter, it pulls you into a dynamic that feels raw and just a little bit dangerous. The tension is sharp, but beneath it all there’s a thread of vulnerability that slowly begins to unravel in the best way.
I loved getting to know more about Scarletta — her layers, her motivations, and the quiet strength beneath the surface. And especially Caleb. That small glimpse into his past added so much depth to his character and made his intensity feel grounded in something real.
For all the edge Caleb has (and oh boy, does he have it), the care he shows Scarletta shines through in subtle but meaningful ways. By the end, I was genuinely giddy watching their walls begin to crack and something real start to take shape between them.
And that turn in the story? I love, love, loved it. Just when I thought I knew where things were heading, everything shifted in a way that added emotional weight and raised the stakes. What started as a steamy ride became something more — a story about trust, protection, and the quiet, powerful ways someone can show they care.
I cannot wait to see where these two end up next.

The book ends on a slight cliffhanger but JA Huss never leaves us waiting long. It will be just a few short weeks until the next book is released. No worries. I can't wait for more Caleb and Scarletta.

Dark for Sure ❤️🏝️⛓️💥⚖️💙
This is one of those books where I couldn’t decide if he was a good man or evil. Maybe a bit of both. Caleb feels it is his lot in life to tip the scales. He’s violent and caring all at once. And a bit crazy.
Scarletta has spent a lot of time trying to come to terms with her hidden dark desires. I’m sure many can relate to her on some level. She owns it.
The book can be disturbing, but I powered through. The parts I didn’t like were him allowing other men to touch her. I always dislike that in a romance, no matter the characters or situation.
That being said, I do intend to finish the series. Gotta see how this ends.

I am in love with the covers of this book and book one. So good. This book was just as good as the first one....but better! The jungle! Enough said. And then of course the little surprise thrown in there. If you've read JA before, you know how she loves to throw something that you don't see coming in there. If you haven't read JA before, you are in for a treat and should for sure check out some of her other books. This surprise series has been just what I needed to start the year!

Wow, Shocking
I wasn't even sure I would finish this book as I read the first two chapters...but I was intrigued, curious, and I had to know where JA Huss was going. And, Wow!
It was definitely dark. I did start to feel for the characters. I did start to like them, or at least parts of them. They were out on the fringe. I hope Caleb gets to explain things to Scarlett...
I guess, using one of the themes of the book, I trusted JA Huss. Thanks, Julie, for bringing us interesting people in your books.

This books continues the story of our FMC, Scarletta, whom we first met in Triple Xmas. The MMC, Caleb, is a billionaire "vigilante" (though the author never labels him that way) seeking to permanently rid the world of predators who prey on children and women. He stumbles upon Scarletta's erotic stories which actually depict her darkest fantasies. After her Christmas experience, he invites her to his private island for Valentine's day to re-live another one of adventures. When things don't go according to plan, Scarletta knows she must make some hard choices to re-right her life's ship. This one ends on a happily for now.

Wow…… is there a bigger small word ever? I read book 1, took a break (J A Huss’s works of art are always emotionally draining) and just finished book 2. I can’t take a break this time I NEED to see where this story goes. This woman is my all time favourite author, and given that I’m cruising through my 9th year of retirement reading a book every day, that’s no small feat.

OFF the RAILS in the Best of Ways
Once again JA Huss has offered up a daring WOW of a book. A book where Scarletta's story fodder comes to life and challenges her and amazes her, and then scares the sh*t out of her. While I might have seen the twist coming, I can't wait for book #3 to see how Caleb manages the fallout!

This 2nd book in the series was less difficult for me to listen to as i kind of had an idea what was going on. I began to understand the motivation behind the characters needs. I could barely wait for the last book!
