Emma has always had her eyes on Conrad Blunt. The enigmatic and out-of-reach steamy older brother of her best friend and Emma finds herself playing a role she never would have imagined in her wildest dreams.
Visiting Denver, and recently broken up with his ex, Conrad asks his secretary to organize an escort to accompany him to a charity ball…but, unbeknownst to him, his over-protective sister Violet is dead-set against the idea. There’s no way she’ll let her brother date an escort…so she sets him up with her friend instead but Conrad doesn’t remember the gorgeous and transformed woman from the girl he once knew.
What Conrad sees in Emma is potential—an underlying strength coupled with the desire to surrender to his command. And Emma finds Conrad impossible to resist…
But Emma has sworn to Violet that she won’t touch Conrad—that the escort role is just that—a role. But now she’s in way over her head. The question is, will she be able to find her way out…and does she even want to?

(Part 1) I wanted to complete this review as soon as I finished the book, instead of waiting a few days (or weeks...or months even) to collect my thoughts. I really wanted to enjoy this book, and though there were aspects that I did enjoy, there was just too much WRONG with this book.
First, no editor is perfect. Every now and then, an error may slip through the cracks, and that is okay. I usually chuckle and continue on. But there were a few times I found myself re-reading a sentence over again to make sure I read it correctly. I have a hard time accepting or liking a book in which grammatical errors get in the way of enjoying the story.
Second, the story was just okay. This entire series is going to be based on nothing but lies and sex. The tiny glimpse of the sex scene wasn't bad. There was a slow build up of heat between Emma and Conrad. I felt bad for Conrad and the trick his sister, Violet, and Emma were playing on him.
For the purpose that this review is over a short part of this book, the last point I will mention is that there was a lot of inner dialogue that was unnecessary and didn't really add any benefits to the overall story. I found myself getting lost, re-reading or just skimming through. Skimming through some paragraphs didn't take away from the overall story, which goes to show, since it neither added nor took away from the story, it wasn't needed.
I woke up way too early this morning but not early enough to start the second book in the series I'm reading, so I needed a filler and this looked perfect at only 37 pages. I've seen books by this author around but this is a first time read for me, now it's my fault for not checking but I was under the impression this was a standalone which it's not, so, so much for my quick read. Conrad is every woman's dream, you know the drill, handsome, rich, confident etc he's recently broken up with his ex and needs a date for a charity ball so he asks his secretary to organise an escort, his sister takes exception to this and sets him up with a friend of hers, it's best to just go with it and not question too deeply. While it's a quick read there's absolutely nothing here which would convince me to continue on with the series, it all goes as you'd expect with a....to be continued at the end.
Let's be clear - this is not so much a book as it is "chapter 1" of a series. It's not what I expecting and frankly I feel cheated. To top it off, I was not impressed with the writing and the choice of words for the sex scenes was comical in places. I don't think I'll be bothering with Nailed #2, #3, or #4. Or any of this author's other series, because from the look of it, all her books are this way.
This wasn’t very good. It just went on and on about the same old thing. The characters weren’t written well at all for my opinion. They weren’t original at all, nor was I able to connect with either of them. Just wasn’t written well. It was funny to actually see the author try to write forplay in there, but that didn’t work out at all. Truly a real fail. Even the erotic scene was not written well.
It had its good moments, but there was nothing captivating enough to make me read non-stop. The only reason I did was because it was so short. By the cover and description, you would expect it was a lot more erotic. The only erotica to take place happened in the last few pages, and the rest was filler. Very disappointing and I'm not going to read the rest in the series.
I actually really enjoyed what I've read in this series so far. I like the drama and Conrad is described as a sex God! I'm not big on lying in romantic reads but I didn't mind this one. Sometimes I wanted to shout at Emma! But then I'm like hmmm, what's going to happen now? I still have to read the other books in the series, but so far, I'm liking where the story is going. The pace was nice and I like the descriptions. And the story got hot and steamy;)
Overall, the story is pretty good. I believe that a lot of mistakes and missed words made this book seem a bit unprofessional. The theme of the book seemed to be wrapped around friendship loyalty, but not to worry - you will never forget. The constant reminder of Violet’s expectations and internal dialogue was a little overboard, in my opinion. It seemed almost like it was a filler to lengthen the book. Overall, however, not a bad read.
I have loved everything that I have ever read by Lucia Jordan. She has never disappointed me with a boring story. I love that she always has a good story line that keeps you reading and wanting more. I would definitely recommend this author and anything she writes to someone that wants a very hot, erotic quickie!
You think someone would pay attention to the old proverb fool me once etc but apparently I take a while to learn ( and there is one more of this trash coming up as well) - but the reality is this is unmitigated trash, it is horrendous and it sets back the rights of women by a generation. Horrible stuff.
Not so much a book as the first few chapters of a book. Girl tricks a bloke that she fancies (who happens to be her best friend's brother) into thinking she is a hired escort and obviously things get taken further than either of them planned. The writing drags a bit - their is way too much inner dialogue.
Quite glad I didn't pay for it and don't think I will bother with the rest in the series.
I can't stand the suspense. The characters are well rounded and I am already getting attached to them. I hope things turn out well for Emma, that she gets the guy but her friend/ his sister doesn't actually kill her.
Amazingly well written. This incredible story will keep you hooked on every word. Realistic characters and the erotic build up of the intimacy between the main characters will have you breathless with anticipation of the next scene.
The story was great from beginning to end. A cliff hanger worth pursuing. The pace of the story was good and the characters sizzling hot. Kudos to the author for excellence. Recommend this highly.😊
Hardly a book. More like 30 minutes of mental pornography, stimulating enough gloss over the grammatical errors and twisted vocabulary used to describe sex in a way you would expect from an explicit erotica.
Everyone has that one thing they want with everything they are know they can't do after. I love seeing someone throw caution to the wind and just follow their hearts. Hopefully there will be a happy ending. Can't wait for the rest of the series!!!
