Snowed in with Darcy: A Steamy Pride and Prejudice Variation

Rate this book
A very merry—and very improper—Christmas at Pemberley.

Elizabeth Bennet's first Christmas at Pemberley as Mr. Darcy's betrothed should be perfectly proper.

It isn't.

When a historic snowstorm traps the Bennet family at Pemberley for the holidays, Elizabeth and Darcy find themselves unable to resist the temptation of stolen moments, dark alcoves, and locked bedchamber doors. What begins with passionate kisses soon escalates into improper encounters that would scandalize all of Meryton—and delight anyone who has ever wondered what Our Dear Couple might do if propriety weren't watching quite so closely.

This is not your grandmother's Pride and Prejudice. This holiday-themed variation is filled with Christmas magic, family warmth, and enough steam to melt all the snow in Derbyshire.

Bring your smelling salts—this steamy Pride and Prejudice variation is definitely outside the bounds of what Jane Austen would have approved.

I tried.. I made it to page 36 from 86 but unfortunately it's not for me.
Nothing is happening, it feels like useless page filing with 7 courses meal, showing every guest their room, explaining the room etc.. but not much of ODC alone like written in the blurb.

I loath to point this out because English is not my native language, nor my second language so to say however I am pretty sure the book needs serious editing. I took notes on my Kindle.

1. We are arrived. (Maybe better with We have arrived or we are there.)
That's just one of many..
2. The author is also confusing 'to host' with 'hostess' throughout those 36 pages.
3. Elizabeth also thought back to when she toured Pemberley in Summer with the Gardiners, and at first it's a footmen who showed them the house, after few pages it's suddenly a young maid who showed them the house.. what about Mrs Reynolds? No mention of her though..

As this was the first work by Isabella Davenport that I've read, I can't say how her other works are but I'll check them out anyway. :-)
