This book offers a refreshing blend of personal insight and practical advice, The Age Rebellion is an inspiring, action-oriented approach to breaking free from outdated narratives about growing older. Lyndsey invites the reader to challenge outdated myths about what it means to retire - the retirement rainbow, as she calls it - and question society's expectations of us as we reach this pivotal point in our lives.
By teaching us how to plan for a future that we're excited about, rather than fearful of, readers will feel confident in boldly stepping into a new, empowered chapter of their lives. The author tackles ageism head-on, dispelling the myth that a fulfilling second act is only reserved for the young. Drawing on personal experience, as well as current research, The Age Rebellion offers a more fulfilling alternative to traditional a life of continued growth, productivity, and impact, no matter your age. This book will empower you to reclaim control, make a new plan, and rewrite the rules of what's possible.
Tone deaf in these hard economic times. Written from a very privileged position. Self aggrandising and really only for those of a similar ilk….those for whom networking is part of their lives, who are in positions of power and get headhunted and those that actually have access to ‘choice’, unlike the majority of the adults heading into retirement in the REAL world. Was massively disappointed. I expected more and I gained nothing from this book.
I’ve read many books on Retirement. This book is the first that I’ve read that so clearly inspires one to “never retire” but to realign one’s work life in a way that reflects the things that they now value. The most helpful call-to-action that I have read on this topic.
Raw, funny, insightful and inspirational, I sought this book out after reading a Forbes article on empowering over 50 people and it more than lived up to the hype. She has a wonderful, no-nonsense way with words backed up by years of research. Packed full of gems you can immediately act on or put in place gradually, this book could also help younger people tackle loneliness as well.
