It's good to have such pieces sometimes. Not at all it's like some other nonsense vulgar novels. The elaboration of intimate scene was neither vulgar nor void. It's as much as it has to be to get the things in places. Story is quite good to get it going the way it should be. Few things about only want a women can feel are very well written. Enjoyed it with PLEASURE..
This was freaking H-O-T!! I loved it! And I am sure as hell going to read all other Lucia Jordan books available for free on Amazon! And probably pay for the complete series, because... why not?! Her characters are to my liking, the male characters are alpha, but without all of the annoying features, and her female characters are quite strong and independent. They just need some lovin' in their lives!
Kelly Sharp was appointed CEO after her father retired but he doesn’t trust her to do the job properly. And in the first few months of her running the place, there is a fire. She only survives because a handsome fireman pulls her out. Levi is the fireman. She more than notices him but she’s so tightly bound, she can’t even thank him for saving her life. *** Ugh… Kelly is a horrible person. And she doesn’t get any better. You don’t perform CPR on conscious people who are breathing and thinking on their own… wtf? I can’t work out what her company is supposed to do. One minute she’s talking about shares, the next she’s organising a charity day for the fire station. Levi is another one of these bad doms. He pushes her into having sex outside, up against the fire truck in the middle of a family function. And when she freaks out he does the ‘I know you really want it’ thing… ugh. And if I read the phrase ‘lose control’ one more time… control is used 32 times in 38 pages. I swear these are getting worse… 1 star
Short story but quite interesting ... Kelly is the CEO of her fathers company when a fire happens and she runs into the building trying to save things .. only she is found on the floor by a fireman ... not liking to release control Kelly is rude to Levi but things change after awhile
Beyond upset when I realize this story is a serial and this is only the first installment....82 pages. 82 pages of the juicy drama and chemistry. Don't allow the cover to fool you....this installment is the buildup to whatever is coming!
I am surprisingly pleased with the characters. Kelly is a wealthy CEO and Levi is a fireman....yep as a result of reading outside my comfort zone, I found this gem!
I didn't go in with any expectations and I ended still disliking it. I know there is a demographic for novels or novellas like these and I definitely recognize that it ain't me. It's short so it gets a pass on certain things but really not everything. The writing was insufferable. "He impaled himself inside her." That sounds monstrous. In such a short piece, the amount of repetition was ridiculous. It's like every time she used a new word or phrase I'd see it again in the sentence right after and the paragraph right after that. Like girl, use your synonyms. "He dipped his fingers inside of her." What is she a jam jar? And she said the goddamn thing again would you believe it?
The bad writing just also made the characters one dimensional. You've seen them before. I often wonder sometimes when authors write dominating men if they know that he can compliment a woman's appearance and body without being condescending or sexist or just a complete and utter asshole. Shocking I know. Or when they write an 'independent' woman she doesn't have to be sex deprived or have a stick up her ass or so independent she's stupid and she most certainly doesn't have to lose all sense of maturity and logic the second some hot dude starts talking to her. Overall it was a no from me.
Kelly is a control freak. Her office catches on fire and she runs into a burning building. WHAT? Yeah, only to be saved by Levi. They keep running into each other. Levi wants to help Kelly lose control, but is she ready or even willing?
I couldn't get past how rude Kelly was to Levi after he saved her life. I wouldn't chase after that. Not matter how much I wanted to take control away from her. Let her have it!
I really hate getting into a book to have it then say...continued in book 2, 3, 4 and 5. Why? Oh of course I know why but be aware a lot of readers find this practice so exasperating that we just delete the book and go off trying to find a full book. It's taking your fans on a ride and many can't afford it. Also there are more than thousands and thousands of book so similar in storyline one complete book is preferable. I'm sure this us a great book. Sadly, I won't ever know.
The story line was interesting but I felt the words were a bit stilted, almost as if you were predictably witnessing a “play”.... The sexual scenes were quite descriptive and definitely riveting, but the overall writing was just okay. .... still a tantalizing read!!
I actually really liked this but I hate that it ended so fast & the way that it ended. I give the author props for actually giving the book a plot & it not just being sex every other page but damn did it have to end like that?!? I'm debating on buying book two because I'm not sure if it's worth it for another snippet like I just got in book one.
The way Kelly treated Levi after saving her from a burning building, was an automatic turn off. I couldn't find the story believable and the chemistry didn't feel natural. It also didn't help that there was no chapter break up. Just one short story. I like having little stopping points even with a novella.
Everyone loves a story about a sexy fireman and wants to get a little crazy with one, don't they?? This one wasn't as intense as some others I've read by this author but still was very good!
The author, whoever it may be, it says it is a woman but they write like a man desperate to be in control, and they appear to believe that a strong independent woman needs to be smacked around more than a little bit to be controlled - there is no pleasure in this horrible garbage.
I enjoyed the fast paced story. The chemistry between the characters seemed to be very evident and not forced. Look forward to seeing where their relationship takes them.
I have always loved a man in uniform. Especially since I wear one myself. There’s no hotter sex in the world when you have a LEO or Fire/Rescue person!! ❤️❤️❤️
