Farren Walters didn’t know whose presence she entered when she met her soon to be husband. She was unaware of his lifestyle. A man of his caliber was way out of her reach, yet he chose her anyway. Christian Knight was a man that people only dreamed about in their sleep. Petty hustlers admired him off the strength of stories they heard in the hood. You could walk past Christian Knight in the mall and not know that he was “The Connect." Real men moved in silence. Wealth is quiet, rich is flashy. Christian Knight was more than a man that supplied the streets with the work. He was a mogul, a self-made billionaire who found comfort, peace and joy in the arms of Farren, a woman almost ten years younger than he was. Many people never expected him to settle down or to be so open with his affection. Despite what he heard about her, he chose her to wear his last name and to become, “The Connect’s Wife."

i started reading this book bc its one of my fav authors fav books but i can already tell its finna be a longggg ride with 7 books in the series.
this book started off in present day then we traveled back in time for 80% of the book. at 90% we get back to present day! basically.. the whole book is setting the foundation of who christian & farren are. im hoping books 2-7 are better.

First let me say, I absolutely loved the beginning of the book. I liked the development of the relationship between Farren and Christian. I liked that Farren was not just some "big booty pretty airhead chic" I appreciate that she worked, struggled and attended school and that Christian allowed it also to a certain extent. Too many times in these types of books the chic is a "bad bish" but yet has no determination or aspirations simply content with only being wifey never wife. Then the book takes a disappointing turn when mentioning Fallens skin tone and hair as the reason why the mother and sister didn't like her. If you've read the book or have been reading the other comments then you know the book has issues. Too many unanswered questions. Ish happening randomly with no explanation. The problem is that too many want to write series, but when you mess up the first one no one returns for the rest.
I started this book and couldn't put it down. I loved the relationship they had from the beginning. It was pure bliss from them Yvette moment they meet. The way he cared for her is just amazing. I can't wait to see what happens in part 2. This book came to me on a recommendation and it was so good. If you read this book you will understand what I mean. 5 star Banger for sure.
I loved this book. Farren was a very smart woman. She didn't play no games with Christian at any age. Farren read him his rights about Asia. I will be reading part 2. I loved the back story of the couple and how it eased back into present time.
I believe this book was what I consider a foundational book. It sets the tone for other books. There is a plot but it isn’t much development there. You will feel like you know some of not the all of the story. Farren is an attorney who is being pressured by the “Feds” about some illegal dealings that her husband Christian Knight has been involved in allegedly. The Connect’s Wife takes us on the journey to see how Farren became the Connect’s Wife. To find out, what exactly the illegal issue that has brung the heat, I imagine one would have to read the Connect’s Wife 2. So that is my plan.
I had to let it go at 78%. I just can’t force myself to finish. It started off really good and I do have grace because it was written years ago! The start of story sucks you in but 1+1 wasn’t equaling 2 for me after a while.
I began reading this book at the suggestion of a fellow avid reader. I did enjoy this read and will continue with the series however I give “The Connect” a 3 star rating. The love story that unfolds between Farren and Christian begins well. It almost reminded me of an urban Shades of Gray in the sense that Christian is an older wealthy man who seemed to get his way often. The sex scenes were a very hot and steamy, although there wasn’t any BDSM .We are introduced to Farren, a law student, who works two jobs to pay for school and all of her other bills. Her description is a delightful one as she doesn’t fit the typical leading lady descriptive of the usual urban tale. Somewhere along the way the story shifted and it was as if the author lost the initial characters. It was almost as if it I began reading part II of the story. The way the story fast forwards, rewinds, and skips years out of their lives could be confusing for some readers. All in all, the story line has potential and did keep my interest for the majority of the book. As previously mentioned, I will be moving on to the next installment to see what unfolds.
Errors were in this book and at times it was moving a little slow to me. Farren was the type of chick that was very ambitious and sought out to have a better life than the one she grew up having. It was crazy how her mom and sister treated her and felt like she had to provide certain things for them. At times Farren blew things out of proportion and went too far. Christian truly was a good guy that wanted to do whatever he had to because of the potential he saw in Farren. He seemed to have everything one could need but found himself getting his hands dirty when certain situations started arising. Courtney was crazy and I couldn't understand why she thought Greg would change for her. One meeting changed everything. Wow I didn't think Christian would do anything to hurt his marriage. It's crazy how things started to deteriorate all of a sudden. Hopefully part 2 will go in more details concerning who's trying so hard to cause trouble with Christian and Farren.
This was a very good read. I loved Farren because no matter how much money Christian has, she made sure she had her own. The editing could've been better; in addition, time bounced back and forth. But despite that I'd definitely read part 2
This story was EVERYTHING and I cannot wait to read the sequel! The storyline is phenomenal and the writing is nothing short than genius! I know it is only February 12th, but this is the best story I have read this year!!!
Whew! Thanks to my fellow Goodreads reader ReadnliftwithShar, I decided to re-read this series—and let me just say, what a blessing that was. It’s been years since I picked up anything by Nako (back on my old Goodreads account, in fact), but diving back into The Connect’s Wife reminded me exactly why Nako is in my Top Five Favorite Authors of all time.
Y’all, I have been in a reading crisis lately—picking up books, putting them down, getting bored, and just feeling disconnected from the one thing I love most: READING. Anybody who knows me knows this is my joy, my passion, my escape. And baby, this book snatched me right out of that slump! From page one, I was hooked again.
Farren Walters’ story pulled me right back into the world of love, grit, and power. She’s layered, not just a pretty face or a “bad bish” stereotype—she’s strong, ambitious, and determined. And then there’s Christian Knight…whew chile, love him or hate him, you feel him in every scene. That’s the mark of good writing: when characters crawl under your skin and stay there.
Nako knows how to create a rollercoaster of emotions—I laughed, I yelled, I shook my head, and I even had to put the book down a few times just to breathe. That’s how you know an author is working pure magic on the page.
This re-read has reminded me of why Nako is truly one of the best to ever do it. I’ve already pulled the full list of her books from FantasticFiction.com and I plan to go through her entire catalog, series by series. No skips. No breaks. Just me and Nako’s pen, taking this ride together.
The Connect’s Wife is more than just the start of a series—it’s a reminder of why urban fiction has my whole heart and why certain authors stand the test of time.
Nako, welcome back into my life. I’ll be here, book after book, ready for whatever twist, heartbreak, and unforgettable character you throw my way.
If you’re wondering whether or not you should read… THE ANSWER IS YES‼️‼️

Book one in the connects wife series was such a rollercoaster ride! I was intrigued with Farren from the Underworld and I knew I immediately needed to know who this lady was.. I loved Farren’s background but when I say I despised Christian Knight, whew, couldn’t stand him!
The best break-out novel I've read in a long time.
The Connect's Wife is a stand-out, well written break out novel by the talented Nako. Farren is independent and fabulous in her own right. Christian Knight appears to be a regular, successful self-made business man but lives a double life. The two meet and fall in love in unlikely circumstance with Christian just coming out of a bad relationship and Farren not searching for one because she has her sights set on bigger things. Farren falls in love with the upstanding man Christian appears to be. However, each have secrets they do not initially warn the other about. Will Farren be able to accept Christian as he truly is and deal with the good, the bad and the ugly it brings alone? Will Christian be able to overcome Farren's past and prove to her that he is her future? I guess you will have to read to find out. Trust me, Nako does not disappoint!!!!
I enjoyed reading the characters develop and fall in love. Their story is pretty cute and fairly relatable. I was actually very into this book -- I gave it 4 stars because It was an okay page turner but a lot of things were dragged on which had me a bit bored, I appreciate the author setting up the rest of the series properly with this book.
It's the love story of Christian and Farren. I honestly love Farren's character she's strong and ambitious. Just because she met Christian and he had a lot of money, she didn't let that stop her from pursuing Law and ultimately making her own and I respect that. Christian's a good man he handles his businesses and takes care of her ...well what Farren allows. They fit together like a great Power couple. Onto book #2...

This wast first read by the author and it was really good. I loved all the characters as well as the storyline. Christian and Farren have both dealt with heartbreak in different ways, but an unexpected situation brings them together. The love that Christian has for Farren is great, but she doesn’t know how to take it. She isn’t use to a man being all about her. Christian isn’t use to a woman being as independent as Farren. I can’t wait to see how part 2 goes.
It’s was a good book but the dates made it hard to believe. 1986 when the author first went back, Farren was listening to Beyoncé and texting. Bey was born in 1982. Impossible, they were texting and using cell phones. No, just no. From 1986 to present would make them at least in their late forties. 2006 to present is way more believable. Things like Pink(vs) MySpace and other things just didn’t happen until the 2000’s I stopped in the middle because the dates were wrong.
This was a good read. I absolutely love Farren and strength. There was just one part I didn't understand about one of the characters but it didn't take away from storyline. Looking forward to hearing the next part.
So far this story has been great . Farren is such a good woman to Christian but he's just a bit to stupid and caught up to see it . Can't wait to dive into part two .
Wow What can I say, well actually I can say a whole lot more when I tell you that this book took me through the emotions it took me through it. I can say that there was time where Farren got on my nerves because it was to the point that she was willing to dumb herself down for Christian like what she didn't put up with Dice she made expectations for Christian which I didn't understand.
And what I also didn't like about Farren was that she would take her private moments that she would have to her sister to go right back and tell Christian, When Christian didn't tell her his family drama, he kept that between him and his family like I just don't know why Farren couldn't fall in line with her family. Now on to Mr. Christian Knight there was times where I couldn't stand him and then there was time where I adore Christian.
But what really gotten on my nerves was his jealous ways over dice I just didn't understand on why Farren didn't take notice that at times where Christian was showing his jealousy over dice. But the way that Christian and Courtney have each other back rather they agree with what they are doing is right or wrong is a beautiful thing because having trust like that make you have a greater relationship with your sibling. But Farren didn't know that Christian was living a double life in so many because she was blinded by love.
It was okay. I was expecting more. The story is good. Christian came off as snobbish and thrifty to be The connect. Why make your girl struggle so much when you have the means to make life easier for her. Ferran was trying to go to school while working several jobs. She shouldn't have been worried about bills. Having got out a relationship with a cheating gold digger, Christian should have shown more appreciation. It seemed like Ferran was doing more for him. Why was she struggling with bills but splurging on his birthday and Christmas? Wasn't she supposed to be broke? I wasn't feeling how he was treating her. Men will be men but a stripper? Why make it rain when you should be spending money on your wife and kids? What happened to upgrading? He told his wife, he didn't want to make it too easy for her because she wouldn't appreciate what she gets. Lol. Now Ferran should've left her past in the past. Why she keep on about the dead pedophile (her ex)? At least he was helping her financially. She's good because why marry someone whose not helping you achieve your goals? Shopping sprees are not important. That's the one thing I found agreeable with this book it's when Ferran said that time , thoughtfulness and little things th are important. But I'm just saying, if you're a kingpin, spend it while you can. Also, knowing Ferran is trying to accomplish things why get her pregnant? There were several errors and kept going back and forth but I still found it okay. It has potential and I already got part 2 In the hopes that it gets better.
Looks like Ms Farren playing hard to get has landed her her real prince charming im sooooo happy for Farren. She has what most people dream about, a man that is into her and only her for her so rare these days. You know what they say everything that glitters aint gold and that phrase matches all tooo well for Mr. Knight when he second guess himself in trustin farren as his wife. I couldn't believe the 360 he did after getting Farren pregnant than insinuating she would do the ultimate betrayal to him. But in the end love brought these two back together in marital bliss lets just see how long these lovebirds can keep it that way. I think this will be one of my favorite series to read just like King Pin Wifeys....A good read/love story
I just don’t like how Farren glorified Christian in the beginning but I’m glad the truth came out about Kim and Mario’s sister. She tried to act like Christian only messed up at the end of their marriage when I feel like he was playing her all along. Also Farren and Kool being in love was weird. She only hung around him like 3 times before she shot him so I didn’t understand the development of their relationship. Chanel is so cringe. Like girl you are DUMB. I honestly can’t believe James and Farren actually made her the face but that’s just her somewhat being used and being dumb again.
Farren is a workaholic be at she wants better for her life, with a jealous mother and sister she tries to be nice. Christian getting over his ex,can't seem to forget farren after meeting her. Farren no stranger to dating a drug dealer but being with Christian he shows her that she doesn't have to do it alone & that he the connects. Farren a little naive but once the feds come snooping around she will do anything to keep her family together.
Very well written Nako. This is a book club "must have" addition. The storyline was clear and the characters are definitely relatable. I thoroughly enjoyed reading about Christian, his family members, and his sister Courtney's dysfunctional a$$. While Farren has her hands full dealing with her mom and that ungrateful lil' sister. Keep up the good work and proofreading skills.
I want that Christian and Farren type of love. They are my dream couple. I loved this book from beginning to end. I thought Farren was stuck up at first, but I ended up loving her character. Although Christian seems to be legit there is more that meets the eye. When neither was searching, they found each other. I believe that is what made their love special. This book keeps your focus and is good to the last page.
I give the connect’s wife 5 stars. It was well written and each scene was well laid out. The back story was told all the way to the present and I loved every minute of it. I got a chance to see each main character grow. There’s a lot of action in this book along with some hot sex scenes and some real family drama. Well I’m off to read the Connect’s Wife II. Get your copy today.
This series has been on my Kindle for a long time, I decided it was time and boy am I enjoying it! Christian is infatuated with all things Farren and he is determined to have her at all costs. Their beginning is so beautiful but this ending is really blowing me! Why work so hard to be a hoe! Only time will tell if they make it! I love it so far and I love Nako!
