I was lucky enough to get an advance copy from the author (who I happen to work with!). Meticulously researched and cited, the book follows the history of LGBTQ+ people in the Greater Cincinnati area. We're treated to tales of movers and shakers, entertainers and politicians, nearly all forced to hide their true selves, as well as stories of everyday people trying to live their lives. As a resident of Northern Kentucky, I was happy to see us represented as well.
cincinnati as a center of drag and other sentences i can’t believe are true
great book that creates a thread of activism and audacity through the history of this city that doesn’t interact with its queer community or history in an outward way. would have loved to see more lesbians
