Shattered Are the Fallen is the third book in the Fractured Realm. The series follows an unhinged heroine and her found family through territory politics, witty banter, betrayals, fade-to-black romance, questionable realities, monsters, and revenge.
Ciar is an award winning author of dark fantasy worlds, who decided dyslexia wasn’t going to stand in the way of her storytelling. She’s an avid reader, nature enthusiast, and full-time day dreamer. She has been writing and rewriting stories for longer than she can remember. Currently, she lives with her two children and pupper in New England. When Ciar isn’t writing, having fun with her children, going to the gym, playing video games or board games, she works in the local school system.
Unrelated to that, she graduated from college with a degree in history, specifically ancient history. It was such a love for history and mythology that gave her the desire to bring her stories to life, that and whenever a book or show ended wrong. Whenever that happened, she wrote her own fanfiction. Eventually that evolved into building worlds of her own to share with you all.
“As much as memories continued to fall in place, he felt like he knew less with each passing moment.”

"She wanted death. To feel it, absorb it, and, eventually, have it herself.”
Somehow I ended this book with more questions than I started with! I loved the trip down memory lane, seeing some of the characters' pasts and the revelations given in this one were also huge, but opened up so much more that I'm curious about. Eagerly awaiting the next book!
This is the third book in the Fractured series, following the journey of Caet and her loved ones in an Earth-adjacent world full of magic, monsters, and never-ending secrets.
The first two books were mainly from Caet's perspective, so in this book, I was delighted to be able to read from Sar's POV as she juggled the fallout of Caet’s devastating actions, including the horrendous monsters that have emerged, and the unending darkness in the sky, all while battling her own growing feelings for Ma'lic.
I love Sar. She is responsible, protective of her family, and cares deeply for everyone.
I enjoyed everyone's story arcs as well, including the character development for Grey and Wraith (especially Grey), and the deep world building.
The ending was beautiful, though it left me with so many questions. What an amazing story. I can't wait to read the next book!
Also, my favourite quote from the entire book is "Grey is a butt."
So happy to receive the ARC for a voluntarily honest review.
This is the 3rd in the series and it did not disappoint. There are many twists and had a satisfying ending. Wait, what, a surprise, there are more books coming in the series with more depth into the Chaos.
The book went into more backgrounds of the characters as well as the continuation of the present storyline.
Despite their dire situation, I am so happy to be back with the Mansion Mi’Cra crew. I’ve watched them grow and develop so much since Fractured and Broken, that I truly feel like they’re family now(albeit a bit of a messed up one lol). I was super anxious to get this next installment after the cliff hanger book 2 left us off at, and it definitely paid off! I am happy to have my questions answered, and to have more questions brought up. I can’t wait for the next installment!
