Stop Bullshifting Me

Rate this book
I was supposed to observe him. Not… absorb him.

Rafe Calderon is six feet of pure rage, broken mirrors, and bullshifter DNA. The Brotherhood calls him Toro. I call him a walking HR violation with cheekbones.

He growls, I analyze. He threatens, I document. Then he shifts mid-therapy and pins a man to the wall with his horns.

Now I’m bleeding light. Glowing in places that should not glow. And waking up to a tattooed monster guarding my bed like I’m the last piece of peace he’s ever seen.

Apparently I’m a latent witch. He’s a cursed killer. And together we’re the spark that could burn the Pact to the ground.

We are not bonding. We are not soulmating.

We are surviving. Skin to skin. Pulse to pulse.

Some women journal through trauma. I tend to ride it out. Literally.

Read on for bull shifters, bodyguard-level feral obsession, sealed fate magic, and a heroine who glows in all the wrong places. HEA Guaranteed!

Intense! Rafe and Kaleigh are deep. Kaleigh is Rafe's therapist, until she's not. Their lives are entwined and purposeful. They are embroiled in lies, conflicts, secrets and intrigue. They are challenged and must stand together to be stronger. This is a story about intrigue, control real and imagined, deception and choices. You are drawn in from the beginning. The characters Rafe and Kaleigh are smart, beguiling, complicated, brave and amazing. Oh my stars, this is a good story! Nicely done. I received an ARC and am voluntarily leaving a review.

disappointed

I rarely leave negative reviews. In the first chapter I was intrigued by the detailed writing style. Action moved slow, but I figured it was because of scene building. Except as the book progressed it seemed to be overly descriptive to make up for the lack of plot or character development. I ended up just scanning the last half of the book, hoping I would be pulled back in. Each chapter didn’t flow well from one to the next. I would swipe back a couple pages thinking I missed something.

The author has given us a heart pounding story that pulls us into the lives of Rafe and Kaleigh. The heartwarming story keeps us turning the pages with connection, secrets, curses, magic, danger and steam.
