ok bro listen… five fucking stars for the SIMP LORD Mason Grant. FIVE ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ actually no give him more. give him ALL the stars in the universe because that man CARRIED this book on his broad, unhinged, morally questionable shoulders. he is the moment. he is the standard. he is my walking wet fucking dream. 🫠🫦💅🏼 I was absolutely FERAL for this man. like barking at the pages feral. someone sedate me immediately.

but also!!! Eva’s story?? was actually GOOD?? like genuinely good??? because Eva… oh my god Eva. she was STRUGGLING. and not in some cute quirky way but in a very real, messy, painful way and it hurt my heart so bad??? 😭💔 she felt so real and raw and human and watching Mason just SEE her??? truly see her??? understand her??? stand there like the most unhinged, obsessed rock of a man??? yeah no my heart actually fucking ached. he was so gone for her it wasn’t even funny anymore.

I don’t even know if I can say much more because I was honestly completely blindsided by the plot. not because it was bad but because I was too busy drooling over Mason half the time. 🫠 but as far as mafia romance goes this was GOOD. like genuinely entertaining, messy, dramatic goodness.

This was so amazing. I enjoyed this mafia romance as much as I enjoy collecting crystals (if you know me, then you know!). The mystery (because of course she edged us until the last part of the book to know what was going on!), the tension, the obsession and the smut 🤌🏼🤌🏼🤌🏼🤌🏼🤌🏼🤌🏼

The bookpression I am currently in since finishing reading Mason and Eva’s story, is wanting me to reread it all over again. I miss Mason and his absolutely delulu personality (think hating an ex-boyfriend from way before he even knew you-delulu!)

Bestie hear me the hell out, I was absolutely taken by this whole story. Mia’s writing is so freaking good, I loved how natural it felt.
Both characters made such an impact on me, especially Eva. This is the dark romance book that I knew I needed.

Eva’s story was truly touching and so good. The author portrayed her trauma, behavioural responses and struggles flawlessly. I enjoyed that you got to see different parts of the FMC. She was explained in the beginning as pretty much being “caged”. I’m glad we got to see her fly, even if she did some questionable things to achieve that. Eva was a bratty, daring, strong and broken character.

Mason Grant is top tier Italian mafia book boyfriend material. Seriously couldn’t get enough of him. He’s so morally black but also worships the ground his queen walked on? Masons character definitely didn’t know boundaries, the guy had to have her and he’d rip the damn limbs off of anyone who’d touch her. He had experienced enough of his own suffering, but his walls came down because of her. The way he’d protect Eva, even if it was from herself. 🫠

Dark mafia romance? Rival families? Morally unhinged man? Say less.

Eva is grieving her parents and starting over at a new uni when she runs straight into Mason Grant, her father’s rival’s son… who should hate her, but instead becomes completely feral. We’re talking possessive, obsessive, slightly concerning behaviour (break-ins, stalking, the usual 🚩 romance checklist).

This started strong. The tension? Great. The setup? Hooked.

The middle? I drifted, pacing dipped and I lost interest a bit.

The ending? Pulled me back with a twist that was part predictable, part “okay wait 👀”

Mason is very much a “god-faced menace” type, if you like your MMCs unhinged and morally grey, you’ll eat this up.

Also 👀 the side characters (Hugo, James, Kane) have main character energy and I’m way more excited to see where the series goes with them.

Overall: messy, dramatic, a little chaotic, but I had a good time.

If you want a romance that has a lot of spice, a good plot and dark elements this is for you! I really enjoyed this book. It had be hooked since the beginning and the plot twist that I didn’t see coming’! Eva and Mason were just perfect for each other even if they were a bit toxic 😅 can’t wait to read about the next couple! 4 stars!

There are times when you don’t even know what you liked about a book and where you only happen to remember the fact that you liked it. This book happens to fall into that category.

While I was reading this, I was constantly thinking about how Mia Thorn could become a new auto-buy author for me. Granted, you won’t be finding the next philosophical epiphanies in there. However, sometimes one simple needs something to take their mind someplace else, which is often easier said than done.
Personally, this is my type of perfect distraction: action, mystery and a romance plot. Exactly what I need to escape reality for a limited period of time. :)

I didn’t know what to expect…I certainly never expected to fall so hard for these characters and the world that Mia has created!

I was intrigued from the start with Eva and fell head first for Mason! Then these two together…I was hooked!!

Eva really does develop a lot through this story and the emotions that are threaded throughout the story bring her to life even more. She is a strong female character and is more than capable of holding her own with Mason! I love that she had a bite to her character, she wasn’t weak and even turned out surprising as her mind opened up allowing the events to surface.

The man himself Mason…he’s going to send all the sexy shivers down your spine for sure. Mason really does meet his match with Eva, she is the only girl who doesn’t drape over begging him for attention. Showing a flicker of fire in her sad eyes that he can’t help but feed into her flames. Mason is loyal to his family and friends that you fear as much as him.

Eva & Mason…<3 This couple will keep you up at night…and gripping your bedsheets tighter…

I loved this couple soo much! The banter they have is second-to-none, spicy, smoking hot and throwing in a “good girl” .

Before I start this review, I want to say that this is one of the best I've read this month and year so far. If you are looking for a dark romance book that will have you hooked, wanting to cancel plans and spice that will have you sweating from the heat, this is the book for you. Faithless Heir is book 1 in the Heirmarked series by Mia Thorn and is her debut novel. Firstly, I would like to thank both Mia Thorn and Lovenotes Pr for this ARC. Importantly, before you read this book, I highly recommend you check the trigger/ content warnings before reading.

I was completely hooked from the start and could not put this book down. There were many things I loved. The mystery was woven seamlessly into the storyline, keeping me guessing. Each character was developed in a way that made their actions surprising until more information about them was revealed. The story and its tropes blended together well, making everything feel cohesive. Every character served a purpose and contributed to the main narrative. I also enjoyed the subtle hints about the next two characters’ story; I may have guessed what happens, and I’m very excited for it. I really loved the plot, romance, and all the characters in this story.

The romance between Eva and Mason was so beautiful. I loved everything about these characters and how they came together and watched their relationship bloom. I do have to say this was a true forbidden romance with slight rival families. I really loved Eva and how she would stand up or fight back with Mason, but I do have to say he was down bad for Eva and would do anything she asked. There were so many scenes of them together that I loved, especially how no matter what, these two would fight to be together, even if it meant sneaking around and other things. Mason is such a true hot-headed anti-hero who would do anything to protect her, even if it means having to fight Eva's overprotective brother. Eva is a Good girl, but once you get to know her, she 100% has black cat energy and knows that she can fight back with her sass. There are so many other things that I could mention, but you will have to read it on release day, 30/03/2026. Happy reading.

First of all, I was blown away by this being Mia's debut. It is a bit lighter in terms of dark romance but, it is still a really great dark romance. Mason is morally grey, obsessive, posessive. He does some stalking and he's an overall alphahole. Eva is meant to be his family's biggest enemy and yet he can't seem to leave her alone. Eva is a broken black cat who is still head strong despite her trauma and she pushes back against Mason, determined to not let him stomp all over her yet they end up entangled anyways.

The writing is incredibly immersive. It genuinely felt like I was standing right beside the characters, experiencing everything with them. There was one reveal in particular that completely shocked me. I actually had to pause for a moment to process it because I never saw it coming. Mason has officially earned a place on my all-time favorites list. His intense, all-consuming nature was everything. Eva, on the other hand, hides her pain behind a convincing front but the cracks are there. Mason is the one person who truly sees through it.

I was immediately sucked in to the story and so excited to start this when I got it. I LOVED Mason this man is amazing, Slightly unhinged? Maybe but that’s why we love him and I love how he is towards Eva this man is really just a teddy bear in disguise. And Eva she’s so just a girl but I love that we got to see how strong she really was towards the end of the book. And I won’t mention specifically what moment but that moment towards the end you’ll know what I’m talking about once you’ve read absolutely gutted me!

The banter between Mason and Eva is electric from the start, full of tension and sharp wit, but it quickly deepens into something far more consuming something Mason can’t walk away from. His obsession with Eva takes over completely. He watches her every move and can’t tolerate anyone else getting close to her. Eva knows Mason is exactly the kind of man she should avoid, yet she finds herself drawn to him in a way she can’t resist. Despite the danger, he becomes the one person who helps her confront the trauma and nightmares left by her parents’ death.

I do want to preface by saying Mia has become a dear friend of mine and I am now her PA but, with that being said I beta read Faithless Heir BEFORE those things happened. I do content creation and she messaged me because of another author friend of hers I did work for and requested a graphic made and then asked me to beta read for her. It was a while after I finished that we became friends so I do not think my opinion is biased since I fell in love with her writing and the story before hand. Still, I'll leave this disclaimer. 🖤

Due to health issues I don't read much anymore, I used to read about one book a day/night and now I read one maybe every few months as it irritates my head. However, something told me I was going to enjoy this book so I agreed to beta it and I devoured it in one sitting like usual. I pushed through my headache because I needed to finish. 😅

I adored Eva's character, she was raw, real and despite being broken and suffering trauma, she was fiery and strong. And who doesn't love an mmc who would burn the world down for his woman? Who doesn't believe in love, has never kissed before because it's too 'intimate' but ultimately meets his match in the fmc and breaks every rule he set because of her?

I typically catch the big reveal/twist in books easily and early on yet I remember messaging Mia after finishing and being like "girl wtf?!" because I didn't see it coming. I was thrown way off balance by the twists and those stories always live in my brain forever since they're not common for me.

[Slight spoiler - if you enjoyed the ladel scene, you're welcome. I remember telling her I was angry because in the beta read it was cut short before anything good happened and I told her that was some BS and she said "well I did originally write it, I just cut it out cause it seemed like too much sex" and I made her put it back. *bow at my feet in thanks.* 🤭]

Anyways, the pacing, the characters, the story and twists - all so perfectly done. I was constantly giggling over Mason's antics and the banter between him and Eva. Mia has a way of drawing you in quickly and keeping you hooked and wanting more. I know she has so much potential and I cannot recommend enough giving F.H a shot and supporting a baby debut author. 🫶 You won't be disappointed. And she'll probably send Mason for me if she ever finds out I left this. Heh he.

Mason Grant and Eva Etheridge could not be more different. Their families are enemies, but once they lay eyes on each other they consume each others every thought and soul. Eva knows the kind of man Mason is, but she can't seem to stay away. Mason becomes obsessed and possessive over Eva and even resorts to light stalking/breaking and entering. The banter and chemistry between Eva and Mason was off the charts. This was a fast paced dark romance with a morally gray/black MMC you can't help but love. And let's not forget Eva. Her family is keeping things from her, she is described as being "caged", but she manages to find her backbone when it matters most.

Wow… this story completely consumed me. From the very first chapter I was hooked, and I ended up devouring the entire book in one sitting because there was absolutely no way I could stop.

Every chapter brought a new wave of emotion, surprise, or tension. I felt like I was constantly bracing myself for what might happen next—and I loved every second of it.

The writing is incredibly immersive. It genuinely felt like I was standing right beside the characters, experiencing everything with them. There was one reveal in particular that completely shocked me. I actually had to pause for a moment to process it because I never saw it coming.

Mason has officially earned a place on my all-time favorites list. His intense, all-consuming nature was everything, and honestly, now I’m slightly disappointed that someone like him doesn’t exist in real life. Eva, on the other hand, hides her pain behind a convincing front—but the cracks are there. Mason is the one person who truly sees through it.

Their connection feels natural because they reflect each other’s wounds, finding comfort and healing in that shared brokenness.

The chemistry between them is undeniable—full of heat, tension, and that addictive push-and-pull dynamic. I especially loved that Eva never made things easy for him and constantly kept him on his toes.

Mia… what should I say about her? She stunned me and left me speechless with her debut book. She easily became one of my top favorite authors. She’s an amazing writer and an incredible human being. I truly love being part of her team.

I’m so grateful I got the chance to experience this story early, and I’m already counting down the days until the next one.

Faithless Heir by Mia Thorn was phenomenal! From what I know, this is Mia's debut novel. I honestly wasn't sure what to expect. Sometimes people are just hit or miss, and I totally went in blind with this author and this book. I did a random sign-up for an ARC through a Facebook group. The first time I've done something like that. Let me tell you, I was NOT disappointed. I have found a new author and series that I am seriously thrilled about... I immediately applied for the permanent ARC team and the Street team, because I want to be part of the journey. I'm really hoping I can be a part of both, but if not, I will gladly sign up through Mia's PR people. Congratulations on your upcoming release, Mia. You did amazing!

Mason and Eva will now forever be part of my brain, heart, and soul... I fell in love with them almost immediately, and their relationship felt so good and so right. I love a good dark romance, but sometimes things can go a little too far. You never know what to expect. However, this book was the perfect dark romance. Every action made perfect sense to me, and I fully supported all of them. I'm really excited for the upcoming books in the series. Three words... Kane and Thea! Yes, please. I'm already in love with Kane, and that is a slight problem, seeing as I don't have his book in my hands yet. I'm actually quite offended. I'll have to be patient, but truthfully, patience is NOT my strong suit. Not even close. I seriously can't wait for the continuation of this series. I'm freaking thrilled!

This is a college dark romance set around powerful families and dangerous secrets. Finally after a long time I read such an unhinged MMC and I loved every chaotic second of it. Mason is the kind of man who is completely unhinged, possessive & obsessed in the most dark romance way possible. His energy on every page was intense and addictive.
The story had so many secrets, tension and dark vibes that I could not stop reading. I loved the dangerous family dynamics and the mystery around Eva’s past. The relationship was messy, obsessive and emotional which made it even more addictive.
Mason being protective & completely gone for Eva was everything. The intensity, the dark atmosphere and the constant twists made this such a fun read for me. I really enjoyed the mix of romance, danger and secrets.
Definitely a great start to the series and I am excited to see what happens next.

ABSOLUTE PERFECTION! I was immediately sucked in and so excited to start this when I got it. And I LOVED Mason this man amazing chefs kiss. Slightly unhinged? Maybe but that’s why we love him and I love how he is towards Eva this man is really just a teddy bear in disguise. And Eva she’s so just a girl but I love that we got to see how strong she really was towards the end of the book. And I won’t mention specifically what moment but that moment towards the end you’ll know what I’m talking about once you’ve read absolutely gutted me! I literally broke down into tears and was like somebody help because this is too much. You know it’s a good book when you’ve cried.

I love their relationship it’s so cutest I’m telling you I was screaming giggling and talking to myself the whole time I was reading this.

I love all of the characters so much and I can’t wait to get more of them and I knew Thea and Kane were going to be next and I’m so excited! I also see Grace and Dan happening in the future maybe…. Hopefully… And Alessia I love her too she’s just such a sweet mom and I think her relationship with Eva is so cutest even though we didn’t get much of them and you can tell she’s the mom to Hugo and Kane too.

This had plot and spice and there are so many that have not enough plot not enough spice but this was perfect. And way this is one of the longest reviews I’ve written but I had so much and to and there no way I could not RECOMMEND this, this is a big yes from me overall 5 stars 💖

This has got to of been one of the quickest and easiest books for me to rate in the top tier!!! From the very beginning, I was just enthralled with it all. Its so perfectly written that you really don't even realise how quickly you are going through it until you reach the end and are wanting more!! Because bloody hell, I really wanted more after this one!!

If you want a new book boyfriend or husband look no further than this books MMC!! Mason Fucking Grant!! Ladies and gentlemen 👏👏 When I say I'm obsessed with this MMC, I mean it!! For he really is a king in my books!! This MMC is just a perfect mixture of obessive, possessive and psychotic and I just love him!! I need more of him.

I am not okay after this book 😭🔥 this was so good. The tension, the obsession, the mystery that had me guessing until the very end?? I was completely hooked from start to finish.
Mason Grant… yeah, I’m done for. This man is unhinged in the best way — obsessive, possessive, a little delusional, and completely gone for Eva before he even realizes it. The way he claims her, the way he spirals over her??? I ate that UP.
And Eva?? I loved her. Watching her slowly fall, knowing she probably shouldn’t, but not being able to stop… it was giving full “I know this is a bad idea but I’m doing it anyway” energy and I was right there with her.
The chemistry between them is insane. The tension builds and builds, and when it finally snaps??? Yeah… you’re not ready. This book is DARK, intense, and addictive.
Also the mystery element??? Mia Thorn really made us WORK for answers and I loved every second of it. I was fully invested trying to piece everything together.

I SUPER ENJOYED THIS BOOK! I am completely obsessed with Mason and Eva. Their relationship starts with a bit of hesitation, but Mason is relentless. I loved how nothing could stop him from getting to her—not even when she was surrounded by her own security guards.

The level of obsession this man has is top-tier. When Mason wants something, he just goes and takes it without questioning himself or looking back. He is unapologetically obsessed and happily does whatever it takes to protect Eva, which I absolutely loved.

The plot was fantastic because the true mystery doesn't reveal itself until the very end. I honestly didn't see the twists coming! There is nothing better than a book that isn't predictable—I actually gasped out loud at the revelations. It kept me hooked until the final page.

Wait… a debut did THAT?? Yeah, I wasn’t ready.

Faithless Heir completely pulled me in from the start. It’s not the darkest dark romance out there, but it still has that addictive edge—obsession, tension, and characters you know are trouble but you can’t stop rooting for anyway.

Mason Grant?? I’m unwell. He’s possessive, morally grey, slightly unhinged (okay… more than slightly), and absolutely consumed by Eva. The way this man moves when it comes to her?? Sir… relax. Or don’t actually—because I loved every second of it.

And Eva? I really liked her. She’s dealing with so much, but she doesn’t just let Mason bulldoze her. She pushes back, she stands her ground, and watching those cracks in her slowly show made her feel so real.

Their chemistry was insane. The banter, the tension, the way it builds into something heavier… it had me hooked. And there’s a moment toward the end that genuinely hit me—I just sat there like “no way” trying to process everything.

It’s fast, immersive, a little chaotic in the best way, and so easy to binge. I flew through it and now I need more immediately because I’m not done with these characters yet.

If you’re into obsessive antiheroes, messy emotions, and a romance that feels a little dangerous… you’ll eat this up.

Five stars; loved the writing and the storyline. I immediately signed up for Mia's permanent arc team because I NEED MORE.

While the story could be categized as Mafia, it doesn't have many of the common themes you'd expect from that genre. In my opinion this story fits better into Enemies to Lovers or Bully Romance. Yes, we have family secrets, childhood trauma and wealth but the storyline is more Romeo and Juliet to me, in the best ways ever!

A bit of spice here nothing too crazy but our FMC in a virgin and our MMC is more than happy to make sure she knows what it's like to be owned in every way.

Loved the side characters and can't wait to see how the series progresses into each of their own storylines. I am usually all in on the leader of the pack but something about Kane calls to me... rumor is his story might be next, fingers crossed!

This one deserves a 6/5 ⭐️ because WOW—I devoured this in less than 24 hours.

If you love a dark, forbidden romance packed with triggers, tension, and all the 🚩… this is IT.

Mason & Eva had me completely hooked.

Mason? The ultimate bad boy—cold, ruthless, doesn’t give a f***… until it comes to her. And the second someone even thinks about touching Eva? Yeah… they’ll regret it.

Eva is the soft, sweet girl trying to heal from loss—but watching her step into her strength and realize maybe the “bad boy” is exactly what she needs? Obsessed. Even with her overprotective brother doing everything in his power to keep them apart.

And Mason’s devotion?? UNMATCHED.

This book was thrilling, intensely spicy, and everything I love in a dark romance. Oh my gosh when I say I want a whipped man.. I mean a WHIPPED man like Mason Grant, because he gives major touch her and die vibes and is so possessive he even gets jealous of his own dog, it’s adorable. I cannot stress how amazing this book truly was! I love an enemies to lovers and the tension in this was boiling hot. He’s been down bad from almost the second he meets her, then makes it his mission to terrorise her and claim her, all while she completely hates his guts. Their families have an age old rivalry which even adds a forbidden romance aspect to this, bringing tensions even higher. The plot was insane, most of it was him trying to get her, but there’s some secrets that can’t be hidden anymore, and the plot twists were absolutely insane. Totally did not see it coming, but it also broke my freaking heart, like some parts were so angsty I cried my heart out. I loved all the characters, Eva is such a sweetheart and I love how by the end, she kinda matches his freak. Now Mason is, without a doubt, an unhinged psycho stalker, but he loves her in his own messed up way. I adored all the characters and I can’t wait for what comes next. I give this a 5/5

This story broke my heart. The pain was real and raw. It stayed with me long after I finished. Monster, beast, villain… but when it comes to her, he’d burn the world... and still let her go if that’s what she wants. I know I started from the end, but that’s exactly how this book felt, like I was running the whole time, completely breathless. The rich, bored bad boy who’s never been intrigued by anything… until the one girl he shouldn’t want, the off-limits girl, walks in. Eva is carrying a tragedy that never really left her, her parents’ death and the secrets it holds, and all she has now is her brother and grandfather. Then comes Mason… like a storm. He wanted to scare her, push her away, but then she becomes his obsession, just one more taste… until she becomes everything. He’s like poison she craves… Their banter is sharp, addictive, and steamy hot, and he’s completely unhinged!!! His princess, his little dove. They break each other, push each other to the edge, and somehow still manage to put the pieces back together. The tension between them is so irresistible, it burns!!! A broken beauty and her beast, wrapped in secrets, betrayal, and a world full of dangerous people and complicated friendships. Everything about this story just worked.

For a first novel, this one is deliciously bold and exceptionally well done. Mason and Eva gave me strong Romeo and Juliet vibes, because absolutely everyone around them thought no way.

Mason, that charming criminal—an endlessly fascinating character with his unforgiving, boundary‑shattering possessiveness. In real life he’d be a giant walking red flag, but who cares about that when it’s fiction?

Eva, on the other hand, is a truly captivating black cat. I adored her, even though I usually avoid the “born-with-a-silver-spoon twats.” Eva was completely grounded. I laughed so hard at her horror over Mason using room service, and I was absolutely on Mason’s side.

This book keeps you hooked, because beyond the romance there are several side threads that don’t even get fully answered here, hinting that more is coming.

The chemistry between Eva and Mason was gripping, and their banter was a delight. Mason’s unapologetic arrogance was downright intoxicating.

Among the side characters, there were so many favorites that I’m expecting multiple sequels from Mia. A few of them already stole my heart completely.

This book definitely belongs on your reading list if you enjoy Romeo-and-Juliet energy—except this time, you actually get a happy ending.

Mason and Eva have some bad bl**d between them. And some secrets too. Eva’s life seems like it’s low key in shambles. And Mason isn’t making it much better. She loves testing this man’s patience. Honey these two bicker and banter like no other and I’m here for it. I got to figure out what the hostility between them. But they can keep it up because I love the interactions. We started off a bit slow setting some ground work but we are getting into now. I love his nickname her and the reason behind it. Their families don’t like each other. Baby it’s giving Romeo and Juliet but make Romeo a dark and possessive. I had a guess of what was going on a boy was I wrong. The ending of the book had my jaw on the floor. I was shooketh. This was a great story. It had plot twist I didn’t see coming. It had sad moments, spicy moments( he’s like the energizer bunny, our girl is tired), happy moments and jaw dropping moments too. Eva surprised me, I was not expecting her to be so gangsta adjacent. Mason was all the things we love: OTT, possessive, touch her and ☠️. But he had a bit extra of all of it. I need more from them and some side characters. The was a really good book, well done chefs kiss!

Mason Grant might be one of my new favourite MMCs, especially if you love the “touch her and die” trope. His intensity and protectiveness toward Eva really stood out to me from the beginning.

The story gives good context to the history between their rival families and how that tension started, but some parts of the romance felt a little rushed considering the depth of that rivalry. Even so, Eva and Mason deliver some great enemies to lovers energy, and it was fun to watch Eva slowly develop a soft spot for him despite all the tension between them.

One of my favourite parts of the story was seeing Mason help Eva confront pieces of her past. His obsession with her is clear from the beginning, and it made me excited to see how their story and the rest of the series will continue to unfold.

There is definitely some spice in this book. I would say it lands around a 3.75 out of 5 on the spice scale, and there is one particular scene involving a ladle that I can absolutely see blowing up on Booktok.
