The morning after the night before, eighteen-year-old Charlie has a wicked hangover and no memory of the party. Or why there is not one, but two hot guys in bed with her. Deciding she's done her last walk of shame, college is exactly the fresh start Charlie needs. Reinventing herself as Charlotte – the good girl, she vows no more wild parties, no more one night stands, and absolutely no more bad boys.
Everything is going perfectly. That is, until she catches the eye of the lead guitarist of hottest band on campus, Dominic Hudson. With his bad boy good looks and magnetic charm he is everything Charlotte's trying hard to resist, but he's not about to take no for an answer. Instead, Dominic sets out to prove that some guys are worth the risk. But Charlie knows all about guys like Dominic, hell, she used to chew them up and spit them out, and giving into their undeniable attraction means revealing her past. A past that she's sure will send him running.
With Dominic refusing to let her walk away, Charlie fights hard not to give into temptation, unwilling to risk losing not only her new reputation, but her heart.
Jenny writes new adult romance. When she's not writing (or entertaining two little terrors)Jenny is glued to her Kindle, or plotting or daydreaming about hot tattooed heroes that will sweep a girl off her feet.
Eighteen year old Charlie promised her grandfather she would change her ways. She’s that girl, the one they all talk about because she likes to have a good time.
After her latest wicked hangover and no memory of what she did the night before, Charlie leaves for college and reinvents herself as Charlotte, the good girl. She vows: no more wild parties, no more one-night stands, and no more drinking.
Things go according to plan. She has a great roommate who quickly becomes her BFF, gets a job at the school library, and then catches the eye of the bad boy lead guitarist of the hottest band on campus, Dominic Hudson.
Charlotte tries to resist. She’s the good girl now; she’s no longer Charlie. But Dominic makes it difficult and Charlie lurks just underneath Charlotte’s surface.
I really liked the concept of this story and the interactions between Dominic and Charlotte. There was more to him than his reputation, just as there was more to her and her past.
For a debut novel, the author did a good job. It was a quick and easy read with a couple of surprises. I really enjoyed the interaction between Charlotte and her roommate, Iris, even though, at times, I wasn’t sure if I were reading a story about Charlotte or Iris.
I did feel the interaction with the band was missing. Dominic is the lead guitarist of a popular band, but we don’t know much about his band mates. I would have liked to seen this further developed.
Dominic was a lot more open than Charlotte was, which made a nice change from the usual taciturn male lead characters.
My main issue with this story and the reason this work does not rate higher is:
1) There were a few parts that were confusing because of the timeline. I had to go back and re-read some parts just to be clear on what was happening. 2) At times, the author repeated herself. I would have liked to see this space utilized to advance and progress the story, rather than returning to ground that had already been covered. 3) There were some plot holes and consistency issues, which didn’t get cleared up or addressed a lot later on in the story. 4) I struggled with some of the factual accuracies around location in this work. I know the area where this story is situated well. Some of the descriptions are inaccurate.
I’d like to finish off by saying, however, that this book has a lot of potential and if some of the above were altered, my rating would have been higher. It doesn’t end in a cliffhanger, but there is more to their story, which will be further explored in another soon to be released book.
I was lucky enough to read an ARC of this debut from Jenny Siegel, and what a debut.
Charlie refuses to give away her heart, but in the past, has been too quick to give away her body. But one night is about to change all that.
Waking up the morning after the night before, Charlie is mortified to realise she let things go too far...even for her. Good job she's off to college, far away from her reputation and past!
Reinventing her Charlotte - the good girl - she's determined to keep on the straight and narrow and get her education.
Enter bad boy lead guitarist, Dominic Hudson.
The chemistry between these two is off the charts and what starts is a game of cat and mouse, but Charlotte is certain she doesn't want to be caught.
Will she take a risk on love? Or close herself off to the possibility that someone might actually might want her for more than just her body?
This is an amazing book. Waking up the morning after the night before Charlie has no recollection of what happened and is ashamed of what she see's when she wakes up, she's sick and tired of her bad reputation so decides to re-invent herself as Charlotte just as she leaves for college. She wants a fresh start and what's a better time than college, no one knows her or the reputation she made for herself in high school, but that all starts to change when she catches the eye of Dominic Hudson the lead guitarist in Supercharged a band known all over the campus, will she be able to stick with being the good girl or will her old ways resurface. There is only one way to find out and that is to pick up a copy. I wish I could give it more than 5stars it really deserves it, I can't wait to read more from this author.
This was a amazing book! Tired of her bad girl reputation around school and town, Charlie decides to reinvent herself at a college far away by changing her ways and going by Charlotte. When she meets the lead guitarist with Supercharged a band known all around campus, Dominic Hudson, will she be able to remain a good girl ways or will Charlie make an appearance? I love to read college romance and rock star romance. And this book put both of those together, that is what makes this book AMAZING!!
An amazing read, I loved it! Charlie has been wild all through high school and it takes waking up in bed with a wicked hangover and two guys whose name she can’t remember before she decides to make a change. She’s going away to college – a perfect place to become a “new her.” She changes her name to Charlotte, begins dressing more conservatively and vows not to drink or have anymore one night stands. This works great for her for a bit – until she meets Dominic. Dominic Hudson is lead guitarist for the band Supercharged and he has his eye on Charlotte. The chemistry between these two is intense from their very first meeting but Charlotte is doing her best to resist.
I really enjoyed the mix of “college romance” and “rockstar romance” I enjoy reading both and putting the two together really turned out fantastic. I love that this story also isn’t all about Charlie, we also get a bit of her roommates story and I hope we get to read more about her in the future! This is a fantastic read and I highly recommend it!
What a great debut novel! I love it when I find a new author especially when it's a book you just can't put down. This is a typical NA romance but there's a slight change up with the heroine. Instead of Charlier being the innocent college girl she's got a past that's filled with a slew of lovers that she's not too proud of. She still falls for the "playboy" though......
The writing is great and the story is even more interesting, it's hot, angsty, steamy, and the characters are believable and likable. I was drawn in from the first pages and couldn't put this book down. I recommend you read it.......It's a perfect debut novel and I look forward to more from this author, and maybe this series and these characters.
~~I received an ARC copy from the author for an honest review.~~
It's a fun and enjoyable story but Charlie thinks to much about the past and being I tiny bit annoying by calling herself a slut almost every single chapter
I was sold at the synopsis but still the story grabbed me and didn't let go. What's not to love for YA fans when your good girl isn't really a good girl and your bad boy is trying to be good. Meet Charlie and Dominic, two people who literally were made for each other.
With a mother who loves her but no role model to speak of, Charlie has been wrongly judged to be a slut so decides to live up to everyone's expectations of her in high school. When her grandfather dies however she promises to reform her loose ways and becomes Charlotte the good girl. Starting college is her ideal opportunity for a new start so Charlie changes her image and decides that her partying days are over. Charlotte is determined to focus on her studies but when she meets Dominic, all bets are off, or are they? Dominic senses something in Charlotte that doesn't add up and being drawn to her, he sets his sights on finding out exactly who Charlotte is.
Becoming firm friends, who are so attracted to each other it hurts, Charlotte and Dominic enjoy each other's company, that is until their "innocent" flirting starts to become series. Despite their obvious chemistry, Charlotte is worried that Dominic won't accept her for who she really is and Dominic is also worried that his one night stands and his "love em and leave em" attitude will be their downfall. Will they be able to find a way to be honest with each other without ruining their friendship?
I really enjoyed this book and I read it practically non-stop. It was a sweet and relatively uncomplicated story but one which was romantic and heartwarming as these two lovable characters try to find a way to accept their feelings for each other. I can't wait to read the next instalment in this serial. Whilst it didn't end on a cliffhanger, it did leave questions unanswered so book 2 can't come fast enough for me.
Copy provided by the author in return for an honest review.
This was an awesome read!! This is the story of Charlie, a high school graduate with a bad reputation. She realizes just how bad it is one morning when she wakes up in bed with not one, but two guys she neither knows or remembers. Heading off to college, she decides to re-invent herself as Charlotte and become the good girl, concentrate on her classes and behave, a promise she gave her late grandfather.
Enter Dominic Hudson, the hot, sexy, tattoo'd lead guitarist for the popular band Supercharged and a fellow student. Of course, he has women falling all over him, and Charlotte knows he is a player. But they immediately have an attraction to each other when they first meet. Charlotte wants nothing to do with a relationship because of her past. So they become friends.
"I told you. If you need me, just call. Even if you don't need me, but you want me, then you should definitely call."
I loved Dominic! The two of them are perfect together! He is persistent in trying to get her to see that they each feel something more than friendship.
"Babe you're staring." He laughs at me because I am actually staring. "Dream on, Hudson," I lie, trying to sound indignant. "You are totally checking me out and you think I don't notice because you have your sunglasses on, but I do. I can tell by the way your mouth is hanging open slightly." He leans closer and I breathe in his masculine smell, a combination of body spray and his shampoo. Whatever it is has me all kinds of crazy.
Despite Charlotte's refusal to sleep with Dominic, this book was steamy hot! And when the sex finally came, whoa!!
And while I was frustrated with Charlotte, I felt bad for her.
"Please don't do this Charlotte. Don't push me away," he pleads. "I have to." Do I sound as miserable as he looks? "No you don't. You want this too. I know you do." "Maybe I do but I also know that when you break my heart I won't survive."
And just when you think things are moving in the right direction for them, her past comes back to haunt her again.
I am so thrilled to see their story continue in a second book which I cannot wait to read!! I highly recommend this 5 star read!
I received this copy in exchange for my honest review.
I was very kindly gifted a copy of this book by a friend of the author. We meet Charlie, Who I believe she was a good girl from the beginning even with her bad reputation for sleeping around and making bad decisions. Charlie wakes up on the morning of her move to college sandwiched between two hot men she cant even remember the names of, the shock leads to her making some drastic changes in the name and clothing department. I couldn't decide if I liked Charlies mum or not...but, I LOVED Iris! (Charlies roommate) I would love to read more about her in her own story. Enter Dominic Hudson...Oh swoony swoon swoon! Lead guitarist in a band, he is the male version of all that Charlie is trying to leave behind and has his sights firmly set on her. This is a steamy little book too - which I wasn't expecting... *Fans self* Will she give a real relationship a chance with Dominic? Will her past come back to haunt her? Can someone with a past like Charlies really change? I thoroughly enjoyed Jenny's debut novel, it was very well put together and I would recommend this book to a friend.
I was immediately drawn to the blurb of this one and when it showed on my Ereader I could not wait to start. I was drawn into the Jenny's writing and the characters. It was sifferent for me to read about a so called "bad girl" and was a good change for me.
Charlie, soon to be Charlotte, did not have the best reputation all through high school and after one event and a lromise to her grandpa decides to make a total change and have a freah atart in college. Little did she know that soon meeting Dominic might blow her whole plan away.
Dominic is the typical band guy, sleeps around and does not want to settle. That is til he meets Charlotte and their friendship begins to blossom! But can Charlotte really go back or have the things that have happenend in the past ruin something amazing?
Wow the chemistry between Charlotte and Dominic was hot!!! I loved their easy banter back and forth, it all seemed so easy for them. The secondary characters added a breath of fresh air, especially Iris!
I would definitley recommend this book to everyone and I am looking forwad to the next book!!
I bought this book because of the title and the blurb and I wasn’t disappointed.
Charlie is a girl who’s not had much direction in her life and because of a promise to her grandfather, she decides to turn her life around once she hits college. She does well until she runs into the hunk-of-all temptations, Dominic, who tempts her resolve to be “a good girl”.
I loved that Charlie, in her effort to be “good”, did in fact become a good girl. She wasn’t stuck up, but learned a lot about herself. She learned that, despite her previous experiences, it was okay to be caring, honest, have friends, and be responsible.
Dominic! Boy did I LOVE him. He was charming and responsible – not your typical college boy. But perhaps, the reason why I loved him so much was because he never gave up on Charlie. That alone says volumes about his character
Normally, I’d have a favorite of the H&H, but in this book, I didn’t have any. The supporting characters were also great as well.
Even though this is a debut effort, it was well written and kept my interest throughout.
I loved A Good Girl. Charlie has a bad reputation and is a bad girl. She's had enough and is ready to reinvent herself. She's off to college and is going to be a good girl. She even changes her name to Charlotte. She pulls off being the girl good who doesn't drink or party. Dominic is the male version of who she was as Charlie. He's a player with a bad reputation. They are attracted to each other. Charlotte doesn't want to be the next notch on his bed post. They fall into a friendship which quickly turns into more. Dominic has an ex that resurfaces and Charlotte has her past. Charlotte's past comes back to cause problems. The ending had me wondering if there would be a second book, and I only had to turn the page to find out there will be a second book (there's a sneak peek at the end of this one). I can't wait to read the next one because there are some unanswered questions in this one.
Charlie is a girl tired of her bad ways and reputation. Now ready for a fresh start she heads to college as a new person after another regretful night. When she catches the eye of the campus "player" and bad boy Dominic. There is an instant attraction between the two of them and she finds it hard time fight it. This was a good story and it kept my attention. The story flows well and has much emotion in it. The characters were well developed and you were able to relate to each character. I enjoyed this story and watching the relationship between Charlie and Dominic develop. I look forward to reading the next chapter in Charlie and Dominic's story.
I enjoyed this book, "bad" girl Charlie wakes up between two guys with no memory of the night before, and sets about changing herself, moving away to college provides the perfect time to change... Of course she didn't factor in the rather beautiful Dominic and she's going to have to come to some happy medium of who she was, and who she is now.... :)
This is a great debut novel. I was hooked from the start of the book and never lost interest. Dominic was hot, adorable, and persistent (in a good way). Charlie grew a lot throughout the book as she was able to find herself. I look forward to seeing what is still to come for them.
* I was given an ARC of this book in exchange for my honest review.
I’ve never had a problem attracting guys, but maybe that isn’t such a good thing. It's all fake anyway; they only want me because of how I look. My long brown hair is enhanced with extensions, my long eyelashes are false, and I wear more make-up than I need. In fact, the only part that isn't fake is my tits. And my clothes? The shorter and tighter, the better...-It used to be fun, but this isn’t fun anymore. This is taking it too far. It's the wake-up call I desperately need. Last night has really shaken me up. What in the hell was I thinking? Two guys, for fuck’s sake, just because I liked their attention. A good chance I didn’t use protection, which is just stupid, not to mention the fact that I have absolutely no memory of any of it. In high school, I gained a reputation for sleeping around. All the attention flattered me, even if it was just for one night. Now that I’m going to college, I can't have the same reputation. That is why I’m going away to school, even though staying local would be the easier option. I need a new place with new people to make a fresh start. No more drinking or sleeping around.-I vowed then that I wouldn't let any man treat me like that, which is why I have only ever had one-night stands. I am not interested in getting my heart broken again and again. No way am I about to make the same mistakes as my mom by thinking that guys stick around.-The time has come for me to take control of my life. It’s not enough just to avoid parties and stop drinking. Starting now, I need to make some drastic changes and learn to keep a promise, starting with the one I made my granddad.- It feels different with Dominic, not just because we haven’t had sex, but because I like it when he holds me. I feel safe with him, and I don’t want him to let me go.-“No, I’m not interested in those girls past one night,” he dismisses them out of hand and I can’t help but wonder if those poor girls realize that they are so dispensable once they've slept with him. “You don’t strike me as the relationship type.” I pull my straw from my glass and suck the last of my chocolate milk off the end. Dominic’s eyes focus on my lips as he watches me suck on the straw. I didn’t mean for it to be suggestive, but apparently, it is by the way his eyes flash. “If I met the right girl I would be.” He slowly brings his eyes up to meet mine, and they flicker with an unknown emotion that is gone in a flash. I need to look away, to stop losing myself in his eyes, but I’m a glutton for punishment. Why do his words cause my heart to flutter? Hope blossoms in my chest, but it shouldn’t matter to me. So what if he’d be interested in a relationship with the right girl; I’m not likely to be that girl, am I? Especially not if he knew about my past. I like hanging out with Dominic, but I can’t let it be any more than that. Yes, he’s hot, and how he affects my body hasn’t gone unnoticed. But that doesn’t mean I have to do anything about it. If I do, I’ll get my heart broken just like all the other girls he’s discarded.- I’m not going to admit to her who I am interested in. If I admit it out loud then it becomes real.-“Oh yeah, so you were totally checking me out that first day in the union.” “You got me.” I shrug. There's no point in even denying it when he knows it's true. The surprised look on his face is priceless. I suppose he wasn't expecting me to admit it. His warm palms slide to the small of my back, and he pulls me against his body, like a rag doll, limp and compliant. Our faces are now inches apart. With some satisfaction, I feel his erection pressing into my thigh and my hands come to rest on his chest. “I was totally checking you out that day, too,” he whispers. The words dance over my hot cheeks. Flushed, not from embarrassment, but from him turning me on like a light switch.-The air is cooler and I’m glad of the change in temperature because my dress is sticking to me. Why does my body have to react in this way when I’m around him? It betrays me every time Im near him.-A warm palm runs up my side and the sensation drags me from the deep sleep I was enjoying. It tickles and I giggle, rolling over to look up at him, all disheveled from sleep. My fingers run through his hair and down his face, tracing each feature beneath my fingers, memorizing every bit of him. His hands slide down to cup my ass, watching to see how far he can push me. A challenging smile plays on his lips, daring me to stop him or maybe to let him continue. Should I call his bluff and let him go even further? The problem with that is I don’t think I’d be able to stop him, I wouldn’t want to. “Hudson, friends don’t do this,” I warn him. “Friends don't feel the way we do about each other. I want you, Charlotte.” His voice is thick with emotion. This is the second time he's admitted it, and I can't deny the feelings his words induce. He brushes his thumb over my trembling lower lip. “I’ll be like all the rest.” It comes out as a whisper. “You couldn't be.” In a swift movement that I don't see coming, he rolls me under him.
“I'm getting to you, aren't I?” Somehow he is managing to break down all my barriers.
Never in a million years did I think it would be so hard to resist him. I dip my head, but he catches it with his finger and lifts it up, making me look deep into his green eyes. “Charlotte.” It is impossible to break away from his gaze. It holds me, and my mouth moves of its own accord. “Yes,” I admit breathlessly, "you're getting to me." “When are you going to let me take you out?” “Not on a date,” I remind him my eyes grow wide with alarm. “Yes, on a date.” His voice rises with exasperation “I've told you that I want you, Charlotte. We're more than friends, and I'm going to prove it. You won't be like all the rest; you’re way too special.” He is being bold even for Dominic. Our attraction is too real, and I can't deny it anymore. The first brush of his lips is soft, hesitant, and when I don't object, he presses his warm lips against mine, his tongue dipping into my mouth and softly brushing against my eager one. I arch my back into him, and tighten my grip on his shoulders. A small moan slips out as electricity courses through me. Dominic breaks the kiss, looking down at me with dilated pupils.-“I can’t stand the thought of you with someone else. You are mine, even if you don’t realize it yet.”-“They all look so happy and couple-like, don’t they?” he asks wistfully. It's the first indication I get that we are thinking the same thing. Could we want the same thing? “Yeah, I guess they do.” The twinge of envy I experience when I look over at them surprises me. “Do you wish you had that?” He stares straight up at the sky, not looking at me. “I never used to but seeing them all together, yeah, I suppose I do. There must be something nice about knowing that there is someone there for you all the time. Someone who you can talk to and who loves you for you, regardless.” “Lately, I’ve been thinking that it might be quite nice to have someone like that.” Surprise registers on my face when I look at him; he is deadly serious. “I wouldn’t tell all your women fans that. They’ll be brokenhearted,” I joke, but he doesn’t crack a smile. “You know I’m not interested in any of them. I could imagine this with you, though.” He trains his eyes on me as he brushes his fingers softly down my cheek. My head fills with thoughts of Dominic and me, and whether we could work. I give my head a shake to clear it; I can’t go down that path. “What do you think would happen? We would sleep together and then we would be like your friends are? Or would you get bored, and I’d get fed up with all the female attention you get? The sex would be great but is that enough?” The words rush out before I can stop them. He seems surprised that I’ve given it some thought or maybe that I’ve actually said that. “We've done okay not sleeping with each other so far. I wouldn’t get bored; I don’t want anyone but you. We’d be good together. We are good as friends, and for the record, the sex would be amazing.” He winks at me, and I can't help but laugh at his conviction. The arm around me tightens and a deep sigh escapes him as he nuzzles my hair. Wordlessly I hold him tighter not wanting to let go even a fraction. “Let me prove to you that we would be good together, Charlotte. I know we will be. I want you, and I’m pretty sure you want me, too, especially if this morning is any indication.” His low voice rumbles through me. He sways me—I do want him, and he knows it. I can feel myself being swept up in his certainty that we might work. Everything is changing between us, I have been trying to fight it, but it is stronger than I am. If I'm honest, I’m a little scared. I know I’m falling for him and I don’t want to let him go, but I’m scared what will happen if I don’t.-“Charlotte, you can’t go through life being scared of getting hurt. You only know it’s real if it hurts. It sounds terrible, but if he has the capacity to hurt you then that’s how you know you feel something for him.”-“This isn't over. We will happen, you know. I will prove I want only you. I. Am. Not. Interested. In. Anyone. Else, Charlotte,” he whispers in my ear emphasizing each word, before kissing my cheek and, leaving it burning from where his lips touch me.-
"I think I fell in love with you when you said you wouldn't sleep with me." Yep, he actually said that. I think I'm in love. (Insert sarcastic tone here.)
Should have DNF-ed at the beginning, but kept on reading. The plot was simple which I didn't mind but I hated how every single side character/friend was solely written to tell our MC how she's not like other girls, she's special, he's never like that with girls, you make him different, you guys are so good together...and on and on and on, we get it! You have no life but to cheer on your friend. They felt like minions. Annoying minions.
If you're looking for a quick fun read, you might enjoy? But don't read if you're looking for any character depth beyond a "bad girl" trying to good.

And here I thought this was going to be your typical book...boy was I wrong. This book is about hard lesson, regrets, being afraid of happiness and overcoming every obstacle in your way. I love these characters and love that I was so wrapped up in the book. I actually bought the second book before I was halfway done with this book. I highly recommend this series!
This book is so addictive. Read it! If you like sassy, independent females and sexy, alpha males. You will LOVE this. The chemistry from the first meeting to the very end is so captivating.
Good Girl and Almost Perfect were absolutely amazing! I loved the Jenny Siegel's writing and how she wasn't afraid to "go there". Women are always faced with double standards and this book reflects how that "Shame" can shape and alter one's reflection of oneself. While Charlie did need to grow up, she took it to the extreme (which is understandable given how she woke up one morning)..but it was limiting who she was and what she could be experiencing. Dominic...hot band member and playboy extraordinaire...sees her for her and he's not giving up until he gets her!
Stellar writing will capture you from beginning to end and ALL the characters were witty, charming, poignant and all around a riot...but it all made for one interesting read. A definite must read for those who enjoy a good romance with wit, sass, charm and of course love!

I love a story to start off with a Big Bang, and A GOOD GIRL, a debut novel by Jenny Siegel pretty much exploded into a magnificent blaze of bonfire night glory for me! That very first chapter of a book has to grip me. It has to draw me in, and it sure does have to live up to that initial wow factor for me to love it and to keep me hooked in. A GOOD GIRL did it all for me!
Charlie, aka Charlotte is the high school bad girl. The go-to party girl for the boys, and who has almost worked her way through the entire high school football team. After she wakes up from yet another party the night before, with not only an epic hangover but complete with two guys in bed beside her, Charlie suddenly has a moment of clarity... Vowing to change her wanton ways for good, curb the endless walks of shame, and finally become a good girl to be proud of... But, being the good girl isn't always as easy as it seems.
I loved Charlie from the very start of this book, especially her strong determination to re-invent herself after her grandfathers death. Despite her trampy ways, it's pretty clear from the onset that this wasn't who Charlie really and truly was. She was wrongly accused of sleeping around in high school, and because of those constant jibes and accusations, decided that she would live up to the label and become exactly who they accused her of being in the first place...a slut.
Re-inventing herself in collage quickly becomes the opportunity she desperately needs to escape her label. Stripping herself of everything which made her 'bad girl Charlie' leaving all those clothes, make up and those bad memories behind to start afresh as Charlotte. It quickly becomes clear that the more she hides, the more she is seen by the gorgeous 'player' and guitarist of a local band, Dominic.
This is an amazing story of breaking free of labels, of learning to love...and be loved in return, and of always trusting your heart. The heart want what the heart wants...you just have to learn to listen. A GOOD GIRL is an enjoyable gripping story which I would highly recommend to anyone who loves a sweet love story. Jenny Siegel most definitely is a hot new author to watch...I can't wait to read what she writes next! :)
I was provided with a copy of A Good Girl in exchange for an honest review. I really enjoyed reading it and was happy to provide a review! This story begins with a girl named Charlie who has a pretty stained reputation in high school. She goes to parties, gets drunk and unfortunately, she wakes up the next morning in bed with someone she doesn’t know and can’t remember how she ended up there. Doing the walk of shame for a while now, she decides that she wants to reinvent herself. With a fresh start, she decides to go off to college so that her reputation won’t follow her and she can become the person who she has promised her granddad that she would be. Along with finding an instant best friend, her roommate—she also attracts the attention of one very sexy guitarist. Will her new start be all for naught or can she learn to control her actions around him?
I will say that I really liked Charlie. She had a rough past, but a lot of people do. Even though high school is a really dramatic time of life, college is an experimental one. In high school, most teenagers are immature and ignorant to the world at large. They fall down, they get hurt and then the walk it off. When Charlie decides to take the plunge and begin a new life where no one knows who she used to be, she feels refreshed. Even though she has formed this illusion around herself of who she wants to be, Dominic and Iris still see straight through her and they still care for her. With the dark secrets that she keeps, she must learn to understand and love herself before she can let anyone truly in. I really enjoyed reading about her finding herself out of the loss and confusion.
In my opinion, I would rate this book with four stars. I do enjoy her writing style, but found a lot of errors within the content. The author does a wonderful job with the development of her characters, even though some of the content does seem a little overly dramatized at times. I thoroughly enjoyed the read and it captured my attention. The pace was fast, which I like and the story line is original. I would definitely recommend A Good Girl to anyone who enjoys reading young adult and romance. I look forward to reading the second book in the series called Almost Perfect.

I really liked this College NA book. Charlie feels like she was too slutty in high school so she reinvents herself when she leaves college as a “good girl”. She’s not going to drink anymore or wear tight, revealing clothing. She’s cut her long hair and wears only mascara and lip gloss. And NO boys. Dominic is the guitarist in a college band and he’s set his eyes on Charlotte/Charlie. Will she be able to resist the attentions of this player?
“’Be careful, Charlotte,’ she warns me. ‘You know what his reputation is like.’
I have to bite my lip to stop from smiling. Poor Iris would have a heart attack if she knew what my reputation back home was really like. I could give Dominic’s reputation a run for its money.
‘I’m not going to be another one of his one-night stands, if that’s what you’re worried about,’ I tell her with a straight face. ‘He’s fun to hang out with, that’s all.’
She gives me an odd look. ‘If you say so.’
Satisfied with my assurances, Iris leaves me to my studying. Which in reality consists of thinking wicked thoughts about a certain sexy guitar player that I have to resist.”
I adore College NA books and this is a really good one. I’m so excited that there’s another book after this one. This was a sweet love story about second chances and I am really rooting for these two. You can tell they have that chemistry and love connection that can last. There is a lot of angst which makes it a torture to read at times but that just adds some suspense. I can’t wait to read Almost Perfect and see what’s in store for these two and their friends.
Charlie, a.k.a. Charlotte at USF, was a good girl turned slut by the murmurings of the bitchy girls in High School. Her mother was always out with a different guy and never really paid much attention to Charlie and what she was doing. After making her grandfather a promise, when she goes off to USF, she becomes Charlotte. She meets Dominic, a guitarist in a local band at the Student Union. Well, doesn't really 'meet' him at that point, you'll have to read the book to see what happens. Iris is her roommate and a good girl, from an all girl's school that has never dated. One night they go to listen to a band, and she meets Bryan and he becomes her first boyfriend. Charlie isn't interested in being the girl she used to be an abstains from alcohol and dancing, and slutty clothes. She and Dominic dance around with their feelings, knowing that they like the other, but don't dare do anything about it. Especially on Charlie's end nothing is being done about the feelings. When Charlie and Dominic go back to visit her mother after her mother says she is engaged, what happens at the gas station? Does it affect their relationship at all? You have to read the book to find out everything that happens at those points and everything in between. Enjoy!
RECEIVED THIS BOOK AS A GIFT FOR A FAIR/HONEST REVIEW and REVIEWER FOR Bloggin' With M.Brennan.
The author provided me an arc of the book for an honest review, so here are my thoughts:
Bad girl gone good? Not the typical path a girl takes, but it’s the one Charlie has promised herself to stay on. Changing her name to Charlotte is just the beginning. No more drunken nights spent in a stranger‘s (or two) bed, no more ugly looks from girls at school, and no more trashy outfits. She’s changing her clothes, moving away to college, and starting over. At college, she’s paired up with the perfect roommate, Iris. She’s the ying to Charlotte’s yang; outgoing, popular, friendly. Much to Charlotte’s surprise, they become fast friends and soon she’s actually doing and becoming everything she promised herself she would. But then she meets Dominic. Hot, sexy, musician, and smart; the guy every girl wants, and the exact guy Charlotte promised herself to stay away from. But he wants her, and he’s not giving up easily. I don’t want to give away anything else, except that I truly enjoyed the story that unfolded. The author deals nicely with the Charlie/Charlotte balancing act, and the growth that leads to her becoming her true self. Just enough romance, steam and intrigue to keep you turning the pages. It’s a stand-alone, so no cliff-hanger to keep you guessing for the next few months.
Loved! Loved! Loved this book! The love story of Charlie and Dominic had me turning the pages from beginning to end. Siegel’s writing commands your attention, page after page after page. You cannot let go. It’s enticing. It’s sexy. It’s heart warming. It’s captivating.
Charlie has just graduated high school and moves away to college, not only to start a whole new life, but also to escape her past. She vows that she is going to become a “good girl” and is off to a great start....until she meets Dominic Hudson.
I’m just going to put this bluntly...HOLY. SH*T. When these two meet, I had butterflies in my tummy, right along with Charlie. The chemistry between these two characters was off the charts and I found myself constantly swooning. I fell in love with Dominic from his first appearance, and fell even harder as the story continued.
This romance had the perfect amount of drama, suspense and sexiness! I absolutely loved the sense of humor of the characters and found myself laughing constantly! This is one of those books that I never wanted to end! A Good Girl is one of my favorite love stories and I will never forget it! Will Charlie keep her promise to herself and remain a “good girl”? Or will hot rocker Dominic lead her astray? You will have to read this fun and sexy book to find out!
I am giving this review on behalf of Kats Book Promotions/ Katsindiebookblog. What happens when you are known as the “bad girl” in town? Well, Charlie knows and has the reputation following her around. After one drunken, stupor night she wakes up with 2 men in her bed and yet she can’t recall what their names were. It ended up hitting hard for her so she goes on a mission to try and reinvent herself in a town far away. Now Charlotte, as she wishes to be called now, sets off to college and gets a plain old library job to help in the changes. All seems to be going well for her till she runs into this hotty who is the lead guitarist for a band. Can Charlotte keep going full steam and continue what she has started, or will Charlie return and cancel all the progress she has made. Dominic, the handsome lead guitarist, has his own skeletons. Can he break the shell of Charlotte and get her to open up to him, even after he opens up to her? Even though they have a very high intensity between the two, it takes more than that to form any relationship. Can two broken people heal each other and work on a possible future together? This was a good, quick read. Granted some items seem to be amiss or scrambled in the story, it is still a lovely read. Some questions were still left unanswered, so hopefully they will become more noted in a next novel.
