An expansion of The Blue Eyes Trilogy

After he inherited the power of the late sidhe king, Devin thought the battle to protect Nessa and proceed with her coronation was over. Everyone feared him, and he had the power to do anything in the sidhe world. He was wrong. As problem after problem arises, Nessa and Devin discover that the path to the throne isn’t as simple as they thought. Formalities must be adhered to, preparations must be made, and between all of that, Devin and Nessa must decide what to do with an obviously pregnant Fiona, who won’t name the father of her child. To make matters worse, the elite sidhe are still assassinating each other. No one in the palace is safe. Who is behind the latest deaths, and can the coronation actually occur with all of the drama going on? Devin and Nessa’s road to power might be cut short if they can’t find the answers.

after the sadness I felt near the end of the book I was beyond ecstatic as the book ending started turning into a happy ending......but of course....as I've come to learn, nothing is ever as it seems and in reality....there's an unreleased 3rd book that I need to get my hands on about 5 minutes ago.

I am so shocked at how this book turned out! it was an awesome sequel but of course the actual story was almost too sad and mysterious to bear.

Nessa seemed a little less able to care for herself in this book....or maybe that was Devin and his crazy overprotective manner...he literally keeps her in a magic bubble for most of the book...silly Devin. it's okay. She came to understand and even if she hadn't I still love you. you are after all, my newest book boyfriend. Jeez I have a lot of them.

I am really excited to see how this trilogy ends. .....her website says possibly spring of 2015.....so I'm hoping it's released soon.......but since it isn't on goodreads I guess I can only hope.....

totally recommend. This trilogy is one of my newest loves of 2015.

My Thoughts - 5 out of 5 unicorns - I loved it!

The cover is another work of art, and I get Devin and the swords on the cover. But I have not figured out what’s with the two girls and what it is supposed to represent.

This is the 2nd book in the spin-off trilogy The Day Human Trilogy. I bought this book this week because I had to read it :) Even though you do not have to read them in order, I would recommend it because you would miss out on character dynamics if you have not, and I especially recommend starting with the first trilogy The Blue Eyes because some of the characters from that trilogy join us in this book :)

Okay I loved this book except Chapter 1. Chapter 1 just didn’t seem like it was part of the book, but I can’t quite figure out why and that’s all I’m going to say about it :)

Devin and his protective side show a mile wide in this book, but this is not surprising to me because he has always been this way. Nessa really is clueless when it comes to her people and knowledge of them. I think Devin learns more about how they think and work faster than Nessa, but maybe that’s what it takes an outsider’s view point. They get to know each other better and what each other’s motivations are. Turner comes back to entertain us with his word play with Devin. I really love the two of them together because you can see they are best friends. Mori also helps out Devin with his skills.

BK’s writing came alive in my imagination while I read which helped me to love this story. Of course, I wasn’t happy at the end and wanted to slap Nessa, but I have to wait for the next book to see what happens next. BK write fast ;)

I highly recommend both series to YA paranormal fans who like action, drama, and treachery with a great story. I love this unique Night Human world that BK has created and hope it will continue even further after this trilogy :) My classroom bookshelf is calling for this book too ;)

The Day Human King (The Day Human Trilogy #2) by B. Kristin McMichael
Kristin McMichael composed another incredible book in the Day Human Trilogy. The Day Human King had me on the edge of my seat. Day human, Devin Alexander, was gifted with the power of the late sidhe king.  He thought his troubles were over when it came to protecting Nessa, the future Queen.  He was wrong; they continually faced issue.

I love this series!  Not only is B. Kristin McMichael a talented writer, she is incredibly creative.  I love Devin; he is such a great character.  He is loyal, brave, fair, and strong.  The plot was amazing.  It was mysterious and kept you guessing.  It was full of action and excitement.  Oh and the ending…I cannot wait for the next book.  If you haven’t picked up the series yet, I highly suggest it, but start from book one.

That felt like the shortest book EVER! What a fantastic addition to this series. I have never been shy about expressing my LOVE for Devin and yes, despite the other amazing characters that McMichael presents to her readers, Devin remains my all time favorite. So by default, I love Nessa as well!

This spinoff trilogy is just a joy to read. I love the sidhe culture, especially since we learned so MUCH more in this book about them. Devin's growth was heartwarming to read and a couple of times I caught myself doing not so subtle "Go Devin!" fist pump.

I loved that more old characters...Mori and TURNER! returned in this book, especially Turner, he was GREAT!

Ugh, that ending! No doubt, I am eagerly going to wait for The Day Human Way.

MUCH LOVE <3<3<3....5 favorite stars.

I can’t even deal. I don’t even know where to begin. I could tell you again how much I adore BKM, but I feel I’ll be a little repetitive and oh how I hate repetition! However, once again – I’m in awe of this author’s talent. The passion and love that goes into each novel is clearly visible to the readers. I’ve probably said this before, but BKM is probably one of the authors that I’ve been so eagerly awaiting to meet. Let me tell you, if this author has an event (that I can attend, of course) I’ll be the first in line! I just want to hug you B. Kristin, along with the amazing team behind you!!

The Day Human King is the 2nd installment in the Day Human series. For whatever reasons, I took forever to finally start to read the first novel, which I obviously devoured. By the time I got through the first book I was immediately able to delve into this novel, which made me extremely happy. Reading about the continuation of Devin’s story was just incredible. The Day Human series has to be one of THE best spinoff series I’ve ever read. Maybe I’m a little biased towards this since I absolutely loved the characters in The Blue Eyes trilogy.

When I first started to read this I had quite a few expectations. I know I should never go into a book with such high expectations, but BKM has never let me down as a reader before and still hasn’t. Every possible hope I had for this novel was superseded. Devin and Nessa’s story gives me hardcore feels. There were times in this novel that I felt SO much that I thought my heart would beat out of my chest. The anxiety I felt when the characters were put into situations that were life altering, the happiness I felt when things fell into place, and the sadness I felt when everything seemed to be falling apart.

I sincerely hope that you take the chance to read this series, because it’s incredibly worth it. I honestly can NOT wait until book 3 arrives so that I may know the fate of Devin and Nessa. The unexpected twist at the end of this book shocked me to my core, and left me asking so many questions that can’t be answered yet. I NEED the 3rd book NOW!! I’m so excited to read The Day Human Way.

I love love love Devin!! I fell in love with him in The Blue Eyes Trilogy! What more can I say? He is finding so many new things that he can do as he tries to unravel the mystery of the threat against Nessa. She isn't very happy with his method of protecting her but he always does what he thinks is best. He is thoughtful, intelligent and knows how to make good decisions (some of which are really amazing). This book had some interesting twists. I was happy to see Turner return to help Devin.

I was really looking forward to how I "expected" this book to end and then WHAM another twist!! OK now I have to wait for the next book, egads, way to make me crazy!!

I really enjoyed this book, it was just as great as the first of the series. The action and suspense kept me reading while Devin and Nessa's love story added the cute romance to the story. I highly recommend this book! I cannot wait for the third book to come out!

**********Contains Spoilers**********

I’ve read this book, and trilogy multiple times since purchased eight years ago but have never gotten around to positing a review, so her goes. I really enjoyed this book. Devin is coming into his powers that the old Sidhe King, and Nessa’s grandfather gifted him. He’s still a day human but is the most powerful Sidhe out there since the old Sidhe King had every power available. The old Sidhe King was put to sleep as he was too powerful, he allowed himself to be put to sleep to be able to make sure that Nessa could eventually meet Devin and bind herself to him. He thinks that Devin and Nessa are exactly the two people to change the Sidhe and make them people that they can be proud of. Devin made it against the law to use family ass*ssins and that only those trained by the Ass*ssins Guild are allowed, it was meant to be taken that its against the rules to k*ll anyone but someone doesn’t know how to listen. Nessa’s breakfast is poisoned and luckily Devin arrives back from his run in time and uses a power that he was gifted from the old Sidhe King to remove the poison safely, but the other elite families members were k*lled. It’s a race against time to try, keep the remaining heirs safe, find the ass*ssin and work out who and why they were k*lling all the younger generations.

Devin stumbles into the Sidhe Village and meets a lovely old man, and some of the other commoner residents. He also found the castoff village, those Sidhe that have broken the law according to the elites and they have basically nothing unless they have good magic that the elite can use, but they’re only compensated less than nothing. I enjoyed getting more of Turner, and seeing how close him and Devin’s friendship is. Devin trusts Turner. I love how Devin wants to help the commoners, and believes that they’re kind and caring unlike the elite Sidhe. Nessa is still pretty naive where the Sidhe is concerned. I love how protective Devin is of Nessa, but he’s still open and honest about how he feels unlike how he was with Arianna. He knows that Nessa can protect herself from a physical threat as she’s a trained warrior, but not where poison is concerned. Also in order for him to be able to track the ass*ssin he needs to know that she’s safe behind the magical barrier. It just goes to show how much stronger his feelings are for Nessa. Wow, what an ending I can’t wait to see what happens. I’m really really looking forward to reading the final book and seeing what happens, and whether Devin and Nessa get their happily ever after. I’d definitely recommend this book, series, universe and author to everyone.

Still getting better and better!

Since I am a broken record at this in point, I will say that this book effectively builds on the last and is excellent on its own! As with all of the other books, this one had everything together and told beautiful! Devin, the main character, is definitely my most favorite character from this series! What else can I say that I did not say before? Such a fantastic book and series! As always, on to the next one!

A really good follow up to the first book. Here we see the power dynamics shifting but also the danger. Now it isn’t just Nessa they wish to kill but Devin. Why Devin? Well he now has all the power from the king, the king of old Nessa’ s grandfather. So the shift is there.

Devin though feels out of place. Nessa isn’t really acting herself. He doesn’t feel he belongs many places anymore but in the village he gets to feel himself. Not feared and not like a doormat. He is just one of them. He sees the difference in classes and love to help others. He also sees the drift that is happening slowly between him and Nessa. It is their beliefs that is different and affecting them. She truly is one that understands the ways of the elite and not the ways of her people. The people outside the castle.

I love how we see Devin here. He begins to show a human side. We see more emotion and love from him. He clearly loves Nessa and her people. The class shift is obvious as well. Devin is feared by elite but the village take him as their own just a working class person who they feel sad for because he is human. Devin’s strength and character help him and Nessa through this book and storm that surrounds them leading up to her coronation.

Nessa acts bratty and petulant at times but this is Nessa. She is scared and alone. Or she feels alone. Devin tries to fill the void but sometimes Nessa is her own island. The characters surrounding them are a hoot. Even her cousins are awesome. I don’t like how Nessa truly doesn’t try to understand how Devin is feeling. She loves him but doesn’t get him. She is a caring woman but she is also stuck in her stubborn ways at times. It allows for a interesting dynamic for these two for she is truly of elite society and he is not. They fit together though. She fears more than she realizes and leans on Devin more that she thinks. He is her knight and one she loves with all her heart.

Devin’s time in the outcast area helps him find himself again and see what is needed. What hurts him is Nessa’s feelings on the outcast people. I think though like him she doesn’t really know what their world is like. She doesn’t know outside the castle walls.

Devin’s friends who help are awesome. You see a true kinship and love between them.

It is fun to watch Devin start to accept his powers and begin to learn what they are. He is a true gem in this book.

The one who sets out to harm the elite and her was a surprise. The twist there is sad and you get to see how truly separate the societal roles are. The action and mystery up to than grabs you. And the punishment is so sad but you see where it is what those who are punished are okay with. They get to start again.

A great follow up with plenty of adventure, fun and a twisty ending.

No middle book syndrome here. The second book is just as interesting as the first. It takes place right after the first book. Now Devin is a human sidhe. A day human with the powers of a night human. In this book things aren't turning out as simple as Devin and Nessa thought it would. I like all of the intrigue. Who is trying to kill who. Fast read.

I like thr story. Like the first is entretaining and fun. The charcters grew from one book to the other one. It could use another proofediting. For example: The narrator's voice keeps changing in the same paragraph.
