I was rather annoyed for the first third of this book, which really brought the rating down. fortunately, the rest of the book was good, although, the pacing at the end felt rushed.

Best Cultivation Series there is.
This is my favorite series in the entire progression fantasy genre not just cultivation series. This series does everything right, in the right balance, with a relentless pace and epic payoffs for the audience.
Book 5 does not disappoint.

Book five of Path of the Berserker by Rick Scott is another wild ride that proves following Max’s adventures is basically a full-time job I happily signed up for. Watching him hack, scheme, and occasionally bull-charge his way through political turmoil feels less like reading and more like standing next to him while the empire hands him another stack of problems labeled “impossible.” The tension is thick—every backroom deal, every power play, every shadowy unknown pressing in from the edges makes you feel his frustration on a cellular level. And yet, what makes this installment hit so well is that Max doesn’t magically steamroll everything; his determination gets him far (sometimes by sheer stubbornness alone), but the story smartly reminds us he’s still got levels to grind, mentors to survive, and painful lessons to learn before reaching the next tier. It’s intense, gritty, politically tangled—and somehow still manages to make you smirk as Max barrels forward like a man who refuses to read the fine print on destiny.

A pretty good entry into the series
This is the first story that I've come across by this author barring any pen names that are unknown to me. Our main character needs to get strong fast and thus cue the time shenanigans. We've also got a desperate plan rolling into the ending. It is a pretty good ending so long as you don't read the epilogue. The epilogue puts a touch of a cliffhanger on this book. I'm wondering how many more books will show up in this series now that I'm at the End of This Book. I will admit there's a couple of things that the author chose to do that I definitely don't like. One is how he approached the princess. It's the strange blend of trying to make the audience understand why she is the way she is. There's some sympathy there and then the gentleman heaps a bunch of actions she takes to make you want to hater. The feeling I have though about the character is simply sadness. I'm not sure that's what he was going for.

Great story, not so bright MC.
Great storyline, excellent cast of characters except for the MC. Plenty of political machinations and backdoor deals. The only issue I find with this book is the MC, he’s not very bright and that’s talked about in the book itself. When are we celebrating stupidity in books now. I as a reader prefer a character who has his act together, yes, I want him to lean on his subordinate somewhat, but he should know what’s happening in all stages of the adventure. because the character is such a dunder head. I have taken one star away from this book. Don’t like stupid MC. Good book overall.

Fantastic Must-Read Series
Rick Scott writes fast-paced and gripping stories with meaningful plot developments in every book. IMO this series is a must-read for Lit RPG fans who love action and great plot lines. As an enjoyer of many Lit RPG series, I feel Rick differentiates himself on how well he handles the power scale of the MC and keeping the plot moving as the MC Max develops. Rick also writes and publishes quickly, which I love because I love reading his books. Rick take care of yourself and keep releasing epic books!

Incredible
A thrilling (but somewhat predictable) conclusion to this arc that has been steadily building since Chapter 1 of Book 1. If you've read the first four books this one is just as good, if not better, than any of the ones that have come before. Furthermore, it does a great job setting up the problems of what is to come in future books.
While not flawless, little grammatical/spelling errors is always a nice trend to see continued; especially in this genre. Great writing all around, I am looking forward to book 6!

Best one of the series
This book is spectacular. The action, the stakes, and the progression are all next level. I especially loved the way the action scenes play out, the time Max takes to actually learn and grow, and all the sect politics.
There’s a lot of sect politics in this one, but just as much action alongside it, and none of it ever feels boring. This reads exactly like a cultivation novel should, with all the familiar tropes, both good and bad, but somehow it all stays incredibly entertaining.
Definitely my favorite of the series so far. Highly recommended!

Arguably, the worst entry of the series.
- Everything in this book is a repetition of what we have seen in the previous ones.
- The main character never losses anything, always wins, it doesn't matter how long the odds might get.
- The other characters are completely useless and are basically just cheerleaders for the deeds of the protagonist.
- Drama is artificially created by the authors to create tension and progress the plot.

just keeps getting better and better
The story just keeps getting better and better so many authors start to fall flat after a couple of books. I find this story just keeps building. The fifth book was a fun Reed. Definitely the kind of book you almost have to read it in one go really enjoyed it.

I’m a fan and will keep reading
The 5th installment of Path of the Berserker was worth the wait. Max is funny and his story is very entertaining. I have also enjoyed following his growth and maturity throughout the series. Even though things always seem to work out for him and his companions, it’s not without struggle. I look forward to the next book.

My Favorite Series Ever!
I look forward to seeing what Max Chun gets himself into next. As soon as Path of the Berserker 5 comes out on Audible, I'll listen to it, too, at high volume, so the neighbors can hear it, too, like they did with all the previous books. Haven't had a complaint, yet, so maybe they like Max, too?

I didn’t know how I was gonna end but I have to say I can’t wait for book 6 because this is an awesome series. I’m a huge fan and Rick Scott. I hope you keep delivering hit after hit.

Genuinely one of the best books I’ve read. And I’ve read many books. Kept me captivated enough to finish it in days. Only bad thing is that I wanted to read it so bad I decided to forgo doing other things I was supposed to do.

extremely satisfying
So much happens in this book. Plot lines come to a close. The ending is huge, and amazingly satisfying.
Yet Max has seemingly played right into the hands of the demon god, though he doesn’t know it. Waiting for book 6 now!

Really good. I like that the story mainly focused on Max and less on the side characters this time around. The plot moves at a good pace. Personally I would have liked a bit more story with his training. Things moved too quickly for me there and he became a lot stronger all of a sudden. I am really looking forward to what happens next.
