Mate abandoned by Alpha: A Rejected Fated Mate Secret Pregnancy Paranormal Romance

Rate this book
I showed up at my mate’s private villa to tell him I was pregnant…
only to catch him shirtless, holding a woman wrapped in his blanket—calling her “my Luna.”
And when she turned around, I froze.
It was Liv.

The woman the entire pack thinks I pushed off a cliff.
The woman my mate mourned for six months.
The woman he now swears he “always loved.”

Elias didn’t deny it.
Didn’t explain.
Didn’t even look surprised.
He just tightened his arm around her and said the words that shattered
“Let’s divorce. Liv is the one I should’ve chosen.”

Fine.
If the Alpha wants freedom so badly, I’ll give it to him.
I walked away with nothing…
Except the secret he’ll never forgive me for
I’m carrying the future Alpha—the miracle heir a Lycan bloodline can produce only once in a generation.

I swore I’d disappear forever.
I swore he’d never touch my child.
But when Liv’s “return from the dead” triggers a new wave of hunter attacks…
and Elias discovers the real traitor has been beside him all along—
he comes searching for me.

This time not as my mate…
but as the Alpha whose entire pack will die
unless he gets back the woman he threw away.

*sigh* 😔
I have some issues with this book. (Possible spoilers ahead)
This is going to be a long rant/spoiler that jumps all over the place because the book did too.

First off, this H was NOT redeemable. What he puts this h through- there was no coming back from that. 😩
Also, I’m not a fan of h giving up their kid.

So, years ago, when H was a child, H was kidnapped by vampires and was locked in a cage. Some mysterious little girl saved him and helped him escape. She disappeared afterwards. (H has always thought it was Liv (OW) who saved him)

The book starts where H and h are already FATED mates and “married.”
H treats her like absolute garbage because he thinks 6 months prior, she threw Liv (OW) off a cliff. All the evidence leads to h. The whole pack treats h like shite. She’s basically kept prisoner in the mansion. H is with women every night, and their pictures are always in the news (even though we know from H’s POV he hasn’t actually slept with any of them) h is led to believe he is. Women even come to h telling them they are pregnant with H’s baby.
h lives in a small, cold room. Barely has any clothes. She’s supposed to be LUNA, but everybody, especially her husband, treats her worse than a servant.

*backstory on OW, Liv*
H dated and loves Liv, but she wasn’t his fated mate. That didn’t matter because he planned to marry her anyway….until h showed up. h was his fated mate. OW, naturally, was extremely jealous, and she is insane. H and h started to develop real feelings for each other as they got to know each other. h is basically his doormat. Total Stepford’s Wife.
There was a traitor in the pack, and the night OW was “killed,” h was blamed.

Some of H’s thoughts/quotes about OW:
——————-
“Before Serenity appeared, I had planned to take Liv as my mate. It was what Liv wanted, and whatever she wanted, I was willing to give.”

"I love you, Elias."
“…I love you too, Liv”

"She led me to you, but the one who truly belongs to me is Liv. Now that she's back, I'm going to correct that mistake."

"I'll mark her and make her my Luna. Even if it takes a year or two to conceive, or ten, or eight, it'll happen eventually.”

———————
So, back to the present time- h just finds out she’s pregnant. At the same time, H finds a woman in distress…….dun dun dun- it’s OW. 😱 She’s back from the dead! For ONE WEEK, H stays with OW, nursing her back to health. She has amnesia 😂 and the only thing she remembers is saving a werewolf boy years ago who was kidnapped by vampires. H is soooooo happy to finally find the girl who saved him all those years ago. (I was snort laughing at this point) H is in love.

Poor dumdum h spends a week trying to reach him to tell him about the pregnancy. She finally tracks him down and sees him with OW. *heartbreaking* The things H says to h are just….ugh. He doesn’t love her, he loves OW. He wants a divorce and plans on making Liv his LUNA. He tells h that the moon goddess made a mistake making h his fated mate. h gets out of there before H can reject her (she’s worried about a rejection hurting the baby)

h goes to H’s dad and tells him about the baby. She agrees that if he helps her leave, when she has the baby, she will give the baby to them and leave forever. He helps her leave.

H is a little mad she left (he still doesn’t know about the baby) but he decides he’ll be a decent man and still give her money on her account. Liv is now his PA, and she offers to help him. 😂😂 ofc, Liv has all h’s money cut off. She’s a total cartoon villain. Nobody with two brain cells would ever believe this woman.

We get H’s POV during this time, and he’s conflicted about his feelings. We start to see that little things OW is doing is annoying him.

H’s dad has h committed to a mental ward until the baby comes. When she has the baby by cesarean, they take the baby and leave her bleeding. h finds a phone and tries to call H, but OW answers 🙃🙃.H suddenly feels his “mental link” with h surge like something major is wrong with h. Ultimately, he ignores it and has a dance with OW. Then the terrible pain hits him when the bond snaps.
H’s dad shows on a big screen that H’s son was born. Surprise. H is shocked. He even questioned if it’s his son. He makes his dad tell him where h is. H makes it there and finds blood everywhere, but h is gone. The blood trail ends at a cliff. h died????

*sidenote* I’m going to admit that I started skimming at this point. I read a plot very similar a few weeks ago.

So yeah, h does give her baby up to H for her freedom.

Now, 4 years later. 😬😬🤨
We find out h was with a human family who helped her. They have a son (OM) who is a deadbeat. The family helped her learn the bakery business, and now she’s running a bakery. The human family died and left the company to her. OM is sniffing around her.

A 4-year-old boy walks into her bakery. It’s her son. 😱 He came to find his mama. A 4-year-old hitchhiked? 😂😂 come on! That’s so ridiculous
We also find out H is a terrible dad. He ignores his kid.
Then H comes to get him, and he’s reunited with h. Kidnaps her and forces her into his car- which she tries to wreck with the kid inside. lol

H now knows OW is not good. He has discovered some of the things she’s done. She is the traitor. Finally, after years and years, he starts investigating OW.
H wants h back. He loves her. h wants to leave. He decides to do the right thing and lets her go back.

OM is a bad human. He was engaged to h and the day of the wedding, he sold her out to the hunters. He was mad his parents gave her his inheritance…..and he hates werewolves. H comes to save her and gets shot with silver bullets.

Finally, we end with H discovering h was actually the one who saved him when he was a kid- and that OW was the traitor all along. H self reflected and realizes he was a tool and treated his wife like shite. He groveled by giving her a divorce and custody of their kid. Then he worked in her coffee shop for months. Months later, they decided to “date” and then later they married. The whole pack now worships her and feels so awful that they treated her badly. 🙄🙄🙄

I probably would have rated this a little higher if the H was at least redeemable. There’s no coming back from the things he thought, said, or did to h.

This is the most meandering, OTT, soap opera thing I have ever read. But I guess it was entertaining.

The Alpha, Elias, was kidnapped as a child. A girl (Liv) helped him escape. He promised himself he would repay her by making her his Luna.

Elias met his true mate (Serenity) and had to break up with Liv. (What did he expect would happen?)

There are a few problems:

1. They hate omegas, and Serenity is an omega.
2. Someone in the pack helped their enemies attack them. They suspect it was Serenity, but can't prove it. Elias put her on house arrest.
3. While on house arrest, Serenity secretly met with Liv by the seashore and pushed Liv off a cliff. The body was never found, but Elias saw it happen.

Serenity says Liv set up the meeting to frame Serenity for murder, but Elias doesn't believe Serenity, because he already thought S was the traitor.

Elias and Serenity have sex a couple of times, but that's it. S discovers she's pregnant, about six months after Liv died. Liv shows back up, claiming to have amnesia. The only thing she remembers is saving Elias from the kidnappers years ago.

Serenity is afraid of Liv. She also knows that if Elias breaks their mate bond to bond with Liv, it will probably cause a miscarriage. She makes a deal with Elias's father, Elder Alfred: Let her go, and the pack can keep the alpha heir. Alfred agrees.

Elias's assistant hears them talking, and tells Elias that Serenity claimed to be pregnant when she left. Elias thinks she must have lied. So now that S is gone, Elias moves Liv in. His wolf is sad to lose his true mate, but Elias is convinced, he wants Liv and doesn't want S.

Elias wants to put money into S's bank account every month, because they are still officially mates, but he puts Liv in charge of setting it up. It takes almost 9 months for him to figure out Liv froze the account and S had no money. He starts investigating Liv. One night, he gives Liv his phone to see if she will try to access his files. There's a call; Liv tells him is a telemarketer.

They are at a gala with the whole pack. Elias feels something is wrong with S through the bond, then he feels the bond break. He looks through his phone and only sees the call from the telemarketer. This idiot never verifies who called him, even though he is suspicious of Liv now. It was S calling, but he will never know that. Because he's a goddamn idiot.

Then Alfred announces to the pack that S just gave birth to the heir. That's how Elias finds out about his son. It was so dumb.

Elias gives Elder Alfred the Alpha Command to tell him what happened to S. Alfred admits he kept her locked up in a Sanatorium, and after she gave birth via C-section, there was no reason to keep her alive. Elias rushes to the sanitorium. He doesn't find a body, but he finds 8 pints of blood on the floor, so S must have died.

The story skips forward again 4 years after the baby's birth. Serenity was rescued by humans. She now lives as a human and owns a coffee shop. The family’s son (Frank) just recently moved to town and has been asking her to marry him, but she doesn’t want to marry a guy she just met.

One day, a little boy walks into the coffee shop alone. Serenity's wolf feels like this must be their son. His name is Arian. (Not Aryan!) He tells S that he's trying to find his Mommy.

We learn that in the past 4 years, Elias has taken power away from Elder Alfred, and now Alfred is the one locked up. But Elias has been ignoring Arian out of guilt. Liv doesn't live with him anymore, but Arian calls her Aunt Liv. The investigation of Liv hasn’t revealed where she was during the six months she was “dead.”

The day Arian ran away, it was because Aunt Liv had tried to get Arian to call her Mommy, and he got upset about that, and about the fact that Elias is never home and always "busy." So, he hitchhiked (if you want to believe a 4 year old would hitchhike), and coincidently made his way into Mommy's coffee shop.

At first, S tells Arian they can be friends if he keeps it secret from daddy, (that's not creepy at all), but Elias shows up looking for Arian. Serenity can't lie about her identity, because Elias knows it's her though their mate bond (even though the bond supposedly broke when she nearly died 4 years ago?). She says she won't go home with him, and tells him she has a fiancé, Frank. They aren’t engaged but Frank is all too happy to go along with it. (Do you really want to get this human mixed up in this werewolf shit, though, really?? This seems stupid to me.) So, Elias just kidnaps her.

She's returned to the Alpha mansion, in the same house arrest situation she was in before. But Elias acts completely differently and is very nice to her. She finds it very weird. She's terrified because of her situation, and she acts like a total bitch, but he won't stop trying to be nice to her.

Seeing that she gets triggered any time he's around, Elias eventually leaves her alone but leaves their child with her. If she tries to leave the mansion, the kid freaks the fuck out. So, the child is being used as a tactic to keep her imprisoned in the mansion.

One day, Liv shows up at the mansion and confronts Serenity. Elias bursts in and reveals he knew Liv was there because he has security cameras all over the house. Serenity realizes she's been surveilled the whole time without her knowledge.

She's had enough and tells Elias there was no reason to bring her back from exile, just let her go! He tells her he wants to start over with her as true mates. She's like, How? He thinks she's a traitor. She's given him chances, and he was never interested in her as a mate. And she has a whole new life and she's going to marry Frank (she's not, but Elias doesn't need to know that). She says if he doesn't let her go, she'll kill herself. (She probably would, because she doesn't want to be his prisoner for life.)

Elias lets her go. He spends his time investigating who could be the real traitor. There's a blurry video of a mystery woman who helped the hunters. Then he notices, the woman has platinum blonde hair, not like Serenity, but like Liv! There are no witness statements about Liv's whereabouts. He has Liv brought in to ask her about it.

He asks Liv if Serenity really pushed her off the cliff. She says Elias saw it himself, which shows that she doesn’t really have amnesia. She threatens to kill Serenity, shoots Elias with a hidden gun, and escapes. So, they need to capture Liv before she can kill Serenity.

Meanwhile, Serenity returns to the human town. Frank proposes. Serenity wasn’t going to accept, but she knows she must move on from Elias, so she accepts the proposal. Liv comes into the coffee shop (in wolf form) intent on killing Serenity, but Elias comes in and saves her. He wants Serenity to come back to his pack territory to protect her from the hunters, but S doesn’t want to go back with him. She’d rather die than go back into captivity with him.

Frank was a little freaked out when he saw her fighting a werewolf. But he offers again to marry her and she accepts. But on the wedding day, Frank drugs her and hands her over to the hunters. He had originally planned to marry her, because his parents left her the inheritance. But after he saw she was a werewolf, he was contacted by these hunters and turned her in.

The hunters send Elias an invitation to a church, but it’s not a regular wedding invitation, they threaten to kill S if Elias doesn’t attend. S doesn’t think Elias will show up for her, but of course he does.

So anyway, there’s a big shootout where Serenity is alive, the hunters are shot, and it looks like Elias is going to die. Serenity runs with him through the woods to a rendezvous point where he can be rescued. It reminds him of the day he was saved from the kidnappers as a child. He realizes his savior was Serenity, not Liv. He asks her about it, and she just says, “I can’t really remember but I think something like that happened.” You think something like that happened?? WTH? And how could she not know Elias had been kidnapped? That was the whole reason he wanted Liv instead of his true mate, and she didn’t know?? And how did Liv know any of the details of the kidnapping to pose as the rescuer? She knew all the conversations he had with Serenity! (There’s an answer for that last question: S figures out that Liv was there that day, working with the kidnappers just like she is working with Hunters now.)

So anyway, Elias makes a dying declaration of love to S and asks for another chance. She doesn’t agree to take him back. She only agrees to give him a chance to try and win her back, if he survives being shot. Elias is like a kid in a candy store.

S goes back to her coffee shop. Elias survives and applies for a job as her barista, as part of his plan to win her back. Then the story skips forward to after the wedding. So, everything works out.

Gotta Love the Moon Godess

This was a great book. Engages you from beginning to end. Liked the main characters and even for all his flaws I liked the MMC.

Lots of angst, shifter shenanigans, OW and OM troubles. All leading to their HEA.

started strong

The book started strong but after the halfway point the book became more poorly written and the story half-assed. I was into the growing grovel potential, but it fizzled out.

Falsely accused as a traitor, she runs.
But cannot really run when others are trying to take her child and her place.
After giving birth and almost dying, she makes a new life for herself, just for her old life to find her again.
She's dragged back into the twisted games of those trying to take over until she becomes too strong for them to stand up to her.
By then her mate has finally realised she's not the bad person and is willing to spend his life making it up to her.
Vengeance does come around though.

This paranormal wolf shifter romance had an interesting premise, but unfortunately the execution didn’t quite work for me. The story is fairly confusing, especially at the beginning, and it takes a long time before the romance even starts to develop. Rumors of betrayal, fabricated or missing evidence, and unclear motivations make the plot feel chaotic rather than suspenseful.
The characters, particularly the male main character and to some extent the female main character, remain quite bland and stereotypical throughout the book. Because of that, it was difficult to emotionally connect with them or really invest in their relationship. The slow buildup doesn’t add depth, but instead adds to the overall feeling of confusion.
Overall, this is an okay read if you’re looking for a wolf shifter romance and don’t mind a muddled plot and fairly flat characters. For me personally, it wasn’t a book I particularly enjoyed, as the story never fully came together in a satisfying way.

I blame myself for being sucked in by an Instagram book ad, but this was, quite frankly, one of the worst books I have ever read. It’s poorly written, the plot is bizarrely convoluted despite the fact that almost nothing actually happens, and the villains are so obvious you’re basically screaming at everyone to open their eyes.

The main characters are beyond unlikeable. Elias is awful — disrespectful, frankly stupid, and with the emotional depth of a cucumber (his sudden realisation that he confused loyalty to a friend with romantic love was particularly painful). Serenity swings wildly from being a complete pushover to so stubborn she is willing to run off into obvious danger and abandon her child purely to spite her ex. Honestly, they behave like they are twelve.

The whole thing feels like one of those terrible low-budget movies you find on short dramas apps. My only explanation is that it was written by AI, as the characters, interactions, and dialogue feel so unnatural that it is hard to believe they were written by a real person.

Feels Half Finished

Serenity is the fated mate of alpha Elias but treated as a traitor. The entire pack believes she helped hunters attack the pack's stronghold -- and that she killed Elias's "savior" Liv. So while Serenity tries desperately to show her mate and husband she loves him and she's innocent, he condemns her to imprisonment in their mansion.

And things get stranger from there.

Liv returns from the dead somehow, Elias insists she is the one he loves, and Serenity finds out she's pregnant. All in the same week period. So. Serenity does what any woman with a backbone does: finds a way to leave.

The story feels unfinished and unpolished. It definitely needs some editing. The formatting is terrible in places. At least the guilty parties face some karma in the end. But the last 1/4 of the book feels like it has no depth, no heart. 3 stars.

This book was so good ! You jump right into the story with all the drama, heart ache and lies. This book makes you cry, get mad and maybe even cry some more. I could not put it down. I maybe got 4 hours sleep last night becasue I could not stop!! You love the main female and wanna slap the male for being so stupid. The way the story flows is wonderful. You feel everything she feels. When her heart breaks so does yours. When he begs her to forgive him you are yelling her to not do it !! There is twists and turns and yes a HEA . A great shifter book since most everyone is a shifter. Again make sure you set time aside to read becasue you will not want to stop !!!.

oh Alpha

The book description really got my attention but the more I read the more I was disappointed. I really wanted to shelve this in my DNF when I hit 75% of the book. It was just dragging on like the plot was gone and poor child. He was rarely was in the story at all and they didn’t even pay attention to the poor kid. Horrible parents.

I get it when the FML was treated bad by her husband but when the side character Frank treated her bad she was willing to marry him. What happened to that spine of yours. You don’t want to be with people that mistreated you but you’re willing again to marry for the same reason. What gives 🤷🏻‍♀️.

I just skimmed the remaining 25% of the book since it was predictable and just to many plot holes.

Liv, Serenity and Elias - a messy triangle. The only likable character in this book was the poor heroine, Serenity. Elias bounces between Serenity and Liv, the other woman. It was whiplash watching him. It makes him a totally unlikable, weak and untrustworthy hero. Yes, he comes to his senses near the end of the book. Unfortunately it doesn’t wipe out what he did in the first two thirds of the book. Poor Serenity, she is put through the wringer and luckily survives it all but she is stuck with Elias so maybe she isn’t that lucky!.

it was ok

I’m not sure if this book was AI or simply an inexperienced author, but it was all over the place. H was supposed to be an alpha, but was easily duped by OW. Serenity was a doormat who threatened to unalive herself whenever she didn’t get her way. She also promised her son that she would see him after her conversation with H, then she took off back to her new life without giving him a second thought. Elias was ridiculous; hitchhiking and finding his mom at 4 years old, when H’s men had been searching for years? It started strong, but ended up jumping all over the place and I started skimming because it was so far-fetched that I couldn’t engage.

“Mate Abandoned by Alpha” by Gertty Redraw

This is a story of accusations, false stories and second chance love. I received a free copy and am voluntarily sharing my honest thoughts.

Falsely accused and cast out, Serenity Keller fights to survive while protecting her child and rebuilding her life. Her strength and growth are compelling, especially as she rises above betrayal and ruthless power plays.

Elias never redeemed himself for me, and despite the vengeance and resolution, I did not like her mate.

A unique storyline. Elias and Serenity are married. However, she is falsely accused of pushing Liv off a cliff and unaliving her. By some miracle, Liv is still alive, and Elias decides to divorce Serenity and marry Liv, his so-called true love. So, Serenity is cast out of the pack. But she has a secret -- and she is resilient, strong, and protective of her child. This story is about a second chance love -- but I'm not so sure that Elias redeems himself; however, that is not a decision I can make for you.

Great story

Elias is a hard read. He does things to protect his fated mate but often they seem cold and cruel. It's almost like he's socially stupid. But he is also just cold and cruel to her b/c she's not his chosen mate. Serenity is a sweet Luna who genuinely loves Elias. He doesn't deserve her. Betrayal, angst, redemption, grovel and redemption. So many upset and downs. I love this author and look forward to the next one in series.

It's hard to find a good grovel-worthy second-chance romance. Even more so when it's based in a shapeshifter book. Because there's a point where I want to throw it all away because it revolves around literally six personalities (the male & female MC, the interloper and their animal side). Factor in hormones, unschooled emotions and politics it becomes... too much.

But I kinda did like this one. Even with its over the top scenes

Good read

Lead MC was very mean to FC. He threw her away n shortly after regretted. She gave birth to his son under horrible conditions n left to die by his father. He didn't know that tho. The mistress was a fake n deceiver. The couple struggle thru vampire and hunter tragedy's. At the very end he redeems himself n they r a family again at very end. The book had some emotional moments that captivated me. If you like similar reads then this one is for you.

Everything about this book was awful. The lead male never investigated OW claims against his mate and he only reopened the case years after he finds his mate. Despite saying forever how things didn't add up. The female would rather die than be with him and even when she is with her own child (whom she was forced to give away and left on operating table to bleed out and die bc she had no other purpose left) she is detached. There is no HEA bc the male character is a weak male.

2.5 kind of ridiculous but...

Ridiculous was exactly what I was going for and this story achieved that well. Surface level so I couldn't connect even a little bit with any of the characters. The "Alpha" was an irredeemable moron IMHO.

Oh my goodness! A story filled with mistrust, deciet, lies, loss and sadness. Elias trusted the wrong person and lost Serenity. When the truth comes out his regret is unbearable. Through tragedy comes clarity and finally redemption.
