If you’re in heat, you’re prey. And in New Cascadia, prey gets claimed.
Rhea escaped the Velvet Room three years ago and has survived by staying invisible. Runaway Dolls don’t get second chances—they get dragged back, wiped, and resold. She’s stayed ahead of Asset Recovery…until her heat erupts out of season and blows her cover wide open.
That’s when three alphas find her.
Jace is big, commanding, dangerously tender—an alpha who steps into her danger like he was built to take her side…and her body.Theo is gentle and careful…until instinct snaps and he’s pressing Rhea into the wall, mouth on her throat, like claiming her is the only thing keeping him alive. And Ryder, trained to hunt her kind, becomes the most dangerous one of all—because the more he touches her, the less he remembers which side he’s on.When Briggs—the city’s most ruthless retrieval officer—marks Rhea for recapture, she has to keep running until she breaks…or trust the alphas who would burn New Cascadia to the ground before letting anyone take her again.
Their desire is instant. Their instincts are undeniable. And every breath they share puts bigger targets on all their backs.
NEON HEAT is a filthy, high-stakes whychoose Omegaverse romance full of off-cycle heats, scent-drunk alphas, forbidden instinct, and a runaway omega who was never meant to be free—but might finally be loved.
This was an action packed, emotional rollercoaster of a thriller, and a great opener to this new series. I haven't read any of London Lennox's books before and I was impressed.
Neon Heat was fast paced with phenomenal world building. It was so gritty and visceral. Set in the future where Seattle, due to a tri-fault line shift, is gone as we know it and half underwater. What's left is now known as New Cascadia. It was to where I could perfectly imagine Rainmarket; this dark, neon sign lit slum, where it constantly rained and you could smell the rot and the salt in the air. And let's not forget the serial killer that's been lurking in the shadows for years.
Now in this setting we meet Rhea, a synth. An omega, synthetically made in a lab. Human in all ways that matter except society says they're property, not really people. And when a synth doesn't behave right, they get confiscated and "liquidated" by the company that made them. In Rhea's case, Fray Synthetics.
Rhea and her four sisters are on the run but hiding in plain sight. They keep their heads down and keep to themselves. Everything is going well, until their pasts catch up with them and an investigator from Fray comes sniffing around. That's when it all goes to hell.
I don't want to say much more, because I don't want to give anything away. With that being said, I loved this. The story kept me on the edge of my seat. It was fast paced, high heat...very spicy, raging inferno heat. Again, top notch world building but also the characters had such presence. Every one of them were so descriptively laid out I could easily picture them and understand their personalities. Including the psychotic serial killer that was much scarier for how calmly they could torture and kill.
It seems like the series will continue with stories for the other sisters. I can't wait. There's so much potential in this new city. And when the opening salvo is a thriller with a serial killer, the rest are bound to good.
Even though this is an ARC review, I will always shoot you straight.

Dnf. Started off well but the FMC has no backbone and when she started having sex with the guy who has been hunting her and started this whole mess, I was done.
4.25 stars. This story is quadruple POV, well written and edited, and a dark, gritty, action filled, fast-paced, sci fi, omegaverse reverse harem romance between Rhea, the genetically engineered female omega lead hiding from her manufacturer, Theo, the male alpha lead who helped her and her sisters when they were freshly escaped and has loved her for years, Jace, the male alpha bouncer lead who has been intrigued by her since he started meeting her for noodles at the end of her work day and the start of his, and Ryder, the male alpha “retrieval expert” hunting her for the company that made her. I enjoyed the accidental nature of the pack formation, and that Rhea’s desires were central to their choices. I enjoyed Rhea’s resilience, and the way she had built a free life for herself with her sisters. I enjoyed Theo’s gentle patience and devotion. I enjoyed Jace’s uncomplicated commitment to Rhea and her needs. I enjoyed Ryder’s personal struggle and development to deal with the reality of his work and its immorality. I enjoyed the spicy intimate scenes. I enjoyed the secondary characters and their support. I adored Rhea’s combat sister and hope she (and the others) get stories of their own.
I received a complimentary copy from the author and this is my voluntary honest review.
Rhea is a synth, made not born. She's on the run with her sisters from a dark past. When a synth hunter tracks her down and starts asking questions about her whereabouts to the cute alpha she sees at the local ramen place. He warns her. And then her heat hits...
OMG, I started this book and read it in a day...I only put it down to sleep, eat, and do some chores 🫠
This book was great! The instalove is anchored biologically (omegaverse for the win) so I'm able to fall into the fantasy. The synth twist makes the story feel fresh.
This was definitely heated 🥵
Lower in angst, but the tension was absolutely amazing. I loved being immersed in the mystery and action. Rhea and her sisters running from hunters, fighting to survive, all while she's forming her pack in the middle of chaos. It's messy in the best way.
The dystopian darkness was very well written. This book lays the groundwork for a whole omegaverse world, and I sincerely hope there will more.
This book is for you if you like plenty of spice, Omegaverse, tension, and action.

This book is a new genre that I tried or, dystopia but omegaverse, I've read the author so I legs that the story love would be well done.
Book 1 started off with a sizzle that's for sure, with hidden "synth" omega or as i took it like cloned omegas that were on the run. The FMC Rhea, escaped with 4 others to try to nest be ordinary people but wete being hunted for what they ran from.
3 alpha circle Rhea, 2 who want to protect her one hinges her and baby decide if he wants to keep or turn her in and all the whole Rhea fights to just be who she is and live a day to gay life.
This story is epic, spicy and unique and has a bit of everything rolled into one that can lead the reader on a journey of angst and longing as you can only fall in love with theses characters.
This is a fast burn, futuristic take on MMFM omegaverse, told from all POV. I don’t often read futuristic stuff but this was a unique take on omegas. It was fast paced with little world building…I’m still not sure what a synth is. Each alpha was interesting and the storyline was dramatic. I would definitely read more in this series.
Rhea is hiding in plain sight, trying to survive and fate intervenes. I like the contrast in her mates, their backgrounds and beliefs. This book is full of angst, strife, love and spice. It makes for great reading.
This is definitely an interesting take on the omega alpha dynamics. Good story. Good characters. But I almost wish they would’ve gotten into more of the girls backgrounds with how.
