Holiday Brothers #1-3

A Holiday fivérek

Rate this book

A csókunkat „elfelejtettem”.

Sometimes you just need to revisit some old comforts to help make the holiday season that much better!!

1st up The Naughty, The Nice and The Nanny

This was the perfect book to start my Christmas journey with! I saw this last year a little too late, so I couldn’t get to it. Now, that we are heading into the holiday season I knew this trilogy was going to be my first stop on my Christmas book journey of 2022.

"I was patient in many ways, but when it came to gifts and orgasms, I preferred instant gratification."

Natalie was funny in an understated kind of way which I love. I hate when a character is over the top funny because it kind of overshadows the rest of the story. Not only was Natalie funny she was so genuine with Violet. The way their pasts kind of lined up was just the icing on top of a really good story. She was able to help her in a way that only someone in that position could have.

And Maddox Holiday was a sheer sexy delight wrapped in a beautiful Christmas bow. He was almost everything to everyone but most of all his relationship with Violet seriously made me swoon all the swoons.

We got enough of the other two Holiday brothers in this book that I can't wait to get to their stories!!

2nd is Three Bells, Two Bows and One Brother's Best Friend

While I love Willa Nash (Devney Perry) this was not my favorite. It gave me all the feels her books are known for, but I felt like Stella's brother took things too far...

The brother's best friend trope is always a tough one for me because I want to love the bit of forbidden aspect added to it but it at the same time the inevitable blow up is always too much. Be upset that it was hidden from you or that you weren't told but don't be upset that your best friend is dating your sister. They are both adults. Get over it.

If you take away that factor, I really did love the way Stella and Heath fell in love. Stella has had a crush on Heath since she was a kid and while Heath was a little slow catching on to that attraction he did.

Not to mention all the mishaps Stella was always having around Heath really had me in a fit of giggles.

This trilogy is in the Audible Plus Catalog right now, so I decided to listen to this one rather than read it and I am glad I did. Aiden Snow will forever make me melt with his deep voice and Ava Lucas does swoony woman in love so well.

Three Bells, Two Bows and One Brother's Best Friend is just one of this Christmas stories that makes you feel good, and I can't wait to get to the last brother because I have been looking forward to his since book one ended.

Lastly A Partridge and a Pregnancy

Okay, not gonna lie I didn't love this one...

The whole "miscommunication trope" I have been seeing so much of lately is ridiculous! I get it, people are going to have disagreements, misunderstandings and even miscommunications in a relationship but when the entirety of a book revolves around both parties not wanting to speak their truth it really irks me.

You were hurt in the past and you don't want to be hurt again, okay cool. Tell her that. Okay, he didn't ask you to stay all those years ago then tell him you would stay if he wanted you too. Bam, problem solved. The worst that is going to happen is you are going to be rejected but then at least you will know.

I love a messy relationship in a book but not when it is as simple as saying a few words. Totally a me thing. Don't mistake me, I didn't hate this book and it is Willa Nash so there was still so much about it I enjoyed from their adorable banter to the way they were together when they weren't heartbroken over words that weren't said.

Emma Wilder and Teddy Hamilton killed the narration as usual. Those are two go to narrators for me because I know I am going to enjoy it. And Teddy when he gets demanding it just does something for me.

The Holiday Brothers was an enjoyable trilogy full of all the Christmas vibes you love mixed with that same Willa Nash charm you know.

Imádom az ilyen rövidebb történetekből összeálló történeteket!
Devney Perry-ben pedig most sem kellett csalódnom!😻

Book 1 ... 3.5 stars. The text was included in KindleUnlimited, the audio in AudiblePlus. This was a quick little read/listen (I went primarily with the audio). A little beyond Hallmark (proFanity x 24 and some steaminess). Not overly Christmas, the season just played a small part (it could have been set at another time of hear without losing much). Pretty much insta-love, although it was a slight re-connection (they knew each other slightly in high school, she'd crushed on him). Things went pretty "easy" ... Natalie winning over Violet so quickly (32 failed in one year), the attraction between Natalie and Maddox, working things out. Really wrapped up in the epilogue (one year later).

12 chapters plus an epilogue ... the POV switched between the two MCs, Natalie and Maddox. In audio, the POV was listed in the Table of Contents (I appreciate that ... I don't know why they didn't include it in the Kindle copy).

Two twin brothers - and as this is the start of a series, I'm assuming the other books feature them. While I liked this, I don't know that I'll continue on with the series, as I have limited time (before both my KU and Audible expire, AND Christmas comes). We'll see ... the characters have been introduced, and they are included in KU/AudiblePlus.

AND ... I went ahead and finished the other two in the series. They were both, ahem, "spicier" than the first, past my comfort zone for enjoyment. I'm a little more of a closed door romance in books. The 2nd and 3rd books had stuff/words that I'd be embarrassed to even document in my review.

Book 2 ... the title (Three Bells, Two Bows and One Brother's Best Friend) was too long and over the top and not worth all the words. I actually really enjoyed Stella's unique phrases (tomato/potato, hit the straw, costing a hand and a foot, disagree to agree). We'd already seen one scene between Heath and Stella doing a little more than making out at the Christmas Eve party in Book1. I got frustrated with the "relationship" and them (or Heath) hiding it, even though there was some logic, but he came off badly (I once had to "hide" when a girl came to drop something off to my boyfriend, he didn't want her to feel bad ... ) I liked the closer look at the homebuilding business (my Hubs works in it as well).

Book 3 ... here, the title (A Partridge and a Pregnancy) was tied into the story. Again, we were already somewhat familiar with the situation (Tobias telling Maddox that Ava was pregnant and going to move away) as it had been said in Book1. Again, the Holiday brother doesn't come off that great, but still gets the girl in the end.

All three relationships/romances result in marriage and a baby.
The whole "Holiday" brothers was kindof a cute way to tie it into the season.
Just an easy/no-brainer book ... which is actually why I ended up continuing on. I'd started another book and was struggling a bit, needed to re-read to understand before finishing, so I switched back to this series as I had it on hand.

I love a Devney Perry book, but one specifically made for the Christmas season? LOVE. These three short novellas were short and sweet and I had a blast reading them. My only critique is that I wish each story was a full sized book because I would have loved to read all their stories for longer. I think my fave book was the first novella, The Naughty, The Nice and The Nanny.

This is a Holiday classic (teehee see what I did there?) starring the three Holiday brother and their individual quests for love…which eerily coincide the same Christmas?!

It has alllll the tropes: single father, brothers best friend, past love, unrequited love, childhood crush, high school sweethearts…can’t go wrong with these novellas 🎄

A Single Dad for Christmas:

A Secret Crush for Christmas:

A Second Chance for Christmas:

Super cute

Really cute short reads.

There are three separate couples in this novella. They all overlap time wise. Sorta instalove but without

Nanny / Single dad
- loved them so much. Definitely my favorite of the group. Low angst. High spice. Super cute fiesty little girl. I would have read a full length novel of them but I’m glad it was just a super quick novella cause I wanted to know their story.

Brothers best friend
- My second favorite couple. Siblings best friends make me frustrated when the sibling tells their best friend to stay away. Or makes them promise at 10 years old not to date them and then it’s 20 years later. The two of them have been in love with each other their whole lives but never acted on it because of this misplaced sense of duty. Luckily this was a novella so the angst and the non - being together was very short lived in regards to their relationship. The communication was so great. Their banter. The conflict was even well thought out. The fact that her best friend smoothed it over and made the brother come apologize to them was hilarious.

Surprise pregnancy/ second chance
- This was tough. It wasn’t the surprise pregnancy that made it hard to read but the fact that this woman who’s current job made her travel around the world every few months and work literally 24/7 for weeks at a time didn’t think her life was going to change. She just kept saying I’ll figure it out, we’ll figure it out. I couldn’t stand her. I loved Tobias (though I’m a Ravenhood girly with a sweet spots for Tobias’). However he had proposed to her back when they were in college and she said no because she wanted to explore the world. Ok cool. So now he doesn’t want to put himself out there again because he’s insecure. He wants her to choose him and the life they could have because she’s going to have to give up her current life. Yet she thinks it’ll just be ok to have the baby with a team of nannies and no family around to help her. I am all about super moms being able to tackle it all but your life changed drastically after you have a kid and you have to make adjustments for the little life who didn’t choose to be born. In the end, it works out. I was annoyed with her the entire time though.

The Holiday Brothers series was such a fun, quick, and festive read to get me into the holiday mood. They are three standalone, but interconnecting books. Each book follows one of the three Holiday brothers and revolves around one Christmas, although each book gives you a different glimpse of that timeframe.

The Naughty, The Nice and The Nanny:
Single dad....need I say more?!?! This was such a fun, sweet, and festive read to kick off my Christmas reading. When Natalie agrees to take a last minute nanny job, she gets a surprise...she's going to nanny for her high school crush!! The chemistry between Natalie and Maddox is perfect. I absolutely adore how Natalie is with Violet, and how she truly sees through this little girl's exterior. I loved this book and cannot wait to read the other two!

Three Bells, Two Bows and One Brother's Best Friend:
Holy Hotness!!!! This was such an amazing quick spicy story!!! I absolutely love Heath and Stella!!! Stella's quirkiness had me laughing out loud! Her twists on common expressions/sayings are literally the best! Heath is an absolute swoon worthy man!

A Partridge and a Pregnancy:
This was such a sweet, spicy, and emotional second chance/surprise pregnancy story and it might be my favorite out of the three books...although it's a tight call. I love that even though Tobias and Eva have been apart for years, they still have this amazing chemistry and connection where they still know one another on such a deep level. Watching these two get their HEA was so heartwarming and puts me in such a happy and jolly mood!

I absolutely love these Holiday brothers and highly recommend these quick and festive reads!

Overall rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

The Naughty, The Nice and The Nanny: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
A little too insta-love for me (particularly on Maddox’s part), but it is a holiday romance novella, so I can’t judge too harshly. I’m not normally big on the billionaire trope, but it wasn’t central to the plot and as a result, didn’t feel flashy or obnoxious.

Three Bells, Two Bows and One Brother’s Best Friend: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️.25
I adored Stella and Heath and would happily read a full length novel about these two. They shared some very sweet moments and Stella’s constant personalizations of common idioms made me chuckle. The only reasons I didn’t rate this novella higher were (1) Stella’s brother Guy was a bit too controlling for my liking and felt like it bordered on abuse rather than just being a protective brother and (2) The secret dating shame hit a little too close to home in terms of some of my own experiences I’d rather forget.

A Partridge and a Pregnancy: ⭐️⭐️⭐️.5
I don’t have any major qualms, this one just didn’t grip me like the others. Going in, I knew the plot was centred around an accidental pregnancy, so I’m not holding that against it even though it is perhaps my least favourite trope. In this case, the pregnancy gave me much less of an ick since these characters had a long history and it was their second chance moment. Things just seemed uneventful overall with the main characters’ stalemate on staying or going feeling repetitive. I will concede that the airport ending was cute though!

My last xmas books of the year and they didn’t disappoint 🫡

Read If You Like
⏳Quick and short reads
⛰️Montana setting
🎄Light Christmas vibes
😆Hottie and successful brothers
🧖‍♀️Light steam

These 3 books were light and bingeable and perfect for this time of year. If you didn’t know, Willa Nash is a pen name for Devney Perry! And if you couldn’t tell I’ve quickly become Devney/Willa’s biggest fan and I’ve loved every book I’ve read by her ❤️

What I Liked
-Short and quick…these are novellas so they’re pretty short but it didn’t feel like the stories were lacking. The plot, setting and characters were chefs kiss.
-Not instalove…don’t get me wrong I’m not anti-instalove but I think Devney did a great job at building a history between the characters and making it feel realistic
-Loved the family aspect…since these are brothers you get to see the family dynamic and the Mom was one of my fave characters. Devney can write a family that you wish you were a part of

What I Didn’t Like
-Light Christmas vibes…I wish the Christmas vibes would’ve been a little bit heavier. These books just take place around Christmas but other than that it was pretty light. BUT I think that works perfectly bc I think you can definitely read these at anytime in the year and enjoy

Looking forward to more books from Devney/Willa in 2023!

A SINGLE DAD FOR CHRISTMAS
oooooooch ich LIEBE Maddox! Single Dad vom Feinsten!

A SECRET CRUSH FOR CHRISTMAS

A SECOND CHANCE FOR CHRISTMAS

Definitely recommend adding these novellas to your holiday tbr this year - quick, sweet, fun reads!

The Naughty, The Nice, and The Nanny (4 ⭐️)

This one was precious and I was rooting for Natalie, Maddox, and Violet from the beginning. All the little moments between Natalie and Violet hit me right in the heart and the way Maddox always put Violet first SWOON - always a sucker for that single dad trope.

Three Bells, Two Bows and One Brother’s Bestfriend (4 ⭐️)

Ugh this one was a cutie!! I love a good brother’s best friend romance. I loved Stella’s quirkiness and Heath was soo swoony! I wasn’t a big fan of the third act conflict, but everything else was so so good!

A Partridge and a Pregnancy (3.5 ⭐️)

And finally a surprise pregnancy + second chance to round out the Holiday Brothers novellas. Even though this one was my least favorite of the three - it was still cute and sweet!

Read if you like:

This delightful little collection from the queen of small town romance herself will round out my 2023 holiday reads.

For 3 novellas about 3 brothers home for Christmas, I was happily surprised when I found myself ready to read every single one in one sitting. You get a little bit of everything mashed into an unrushed, fully fleshed out story for each brother - billionaire, single-dad x nanny with high school crushes thrown in; twin brothers who work for the family business, one with a best friend's little sister crush that's hung around for years and another with a lost-love/one night stand/second chance and surprise pregnancy story.. literally, all the things paced perfectly and with HEAs for all!

If you like:
- small town romance that harkens back to high school without making you feel like you're reliving glory days of your characters
- slightly possessive and protective MMCs and the FMCs who keep them in check
- feel-good holiday stories with a little heat and a lot of emotion packed into a nice novella..
.. give these a go. A perfect set of stories to close out the holiday reading bonanza of 2023!

This was an absolutely adorable trilogy of brothers finding love at Christmastime. The best tropes: single dad x nanny, brother's best friend, second chance romance. chef's kiss!
my biggest complaint was the pairing in the third story, it really felt forced for them to come back together due to the baby. while everything worked out in the end, (you know me, I'm a sucker for a HEA) it just kind of rubbed me the wrong way. second chances aren't always my favorite and this one was a good example why: the conversations that should have been had to keep from repeating the mistake of previous attempts at the relationship either don't happen or aren't seen. until like the last page of the last chapter before the epilogue, the main issue wasn't resolved and it felt kind of rushed, and the epilogue was a year later. I just would have liked to see them really hash out their problems and enjoy being expecting parents before the epilogue with their baby in their arms.
overall, really adorable and the first book was easily my favorite. 3 stars because the last book really irked me.

Second Chance came this time around!
The Holiday Brothers have all been working and hustling all their lives. And it has paid out, but the one thing all of these do not have yet is the strong women beside them. But this Christmas season might be the perfect year to commit. This is a collection of three novellas, so each of the brothers gets their own story, but they intertwine as well.
This was a great book to start the year and a read I could finish in one sitting. I do love that I got all the novellas in one because, in each book, I got a glimpse of the other brothers, so I did not need to wait, I could just smoothly continue. All the couples move fast when it comes to the relationship, but honestly, for a novella, that is what I like. Short, sexy, and to the point. Devney Perry’s writing always gets me, and I love the small-town aspect of her books. It makes them even more cozy. In the first book, we have Violet, and let me tell you, she is a feisty daughter of one of the brothers, and I love it! She might just be my favorite!

Emellett megkaptuk a kisvárosi romantikusok könnyedségét, érzelmességét.

Nanny- 4 🌟
Brother's Best Friend- 2.5 🌟
Partridge- 2 🌟

The nanny one was super cute- I really liked Nat's character (I full on giggled at the early vase scene when she squares off with Violet) and Maddox's character development navigating how to be an attentive single dad who's trying to do right by his child. They were my favorite couple out of this collection of "Holiday" brothers.

Brother's Best Friend was just okay. I have a hard time getting past the whole "secret" thing and feel like it was kinda let go a little too easily.

Lastly, the Partridge one started out strong and then fell so flat towards the end in my opinion. The miscommunication trope also leaves a bad taste in my mouth and drives me up a wall, because commeeee onnnnn.

Overall, this is a decent collection of novellas for those looking for quick, Christmas reads with HEAs.
