Tropes: Second Chance at Love, Class Difference, Co-Parents, Golden Retriever Male Character, Business Relationship, Other Woman Won’t Let Go 😊
Peyton Banks has an entertaining array of books covering a variety of categories, from law enforcement to cowboys to sports to contemporary romances. Each book is executed with elegant prose and elan.
Her latest book, A Tiny Little Favor, is achingly sweet, featuring two characters in a respectful, if not romantic, relationship. Readers can sense their unspoken yearnings, but they are locked into the status quo, fearful that any deviation will derail the part of their lives that work!
Tachina Winston and Vic Maxwell met several years ago when Tachina was tapped to complete some decorations on one of his buildings. They discovered that they had a mutual attraction and decided to indulge in a one-night stand…..or two. Very maturely they parted ways only for Tachina to discover that their brief indulgence resulted in a pregnancy.
When our story opens, Vic and Tachina are fairly seamlessly working together to co-parent their son, Kian. Even though they don’t dwell or talk about it, they both know that there are undercurrents and unanswered questions and unreached potential. Will they ever be brave enough to discuss their hidden feelings? And now that Tachina wants another child with Vic, will co-parenting look and feel different this time around?
Conclusion:
This book was truly delightful; Vic, Tachina and Kian made the perfect little family unit. Outside forces tried to strip away their unity; however, Vic was adamant in his determination to both find peace in Tachina and to be HER peace. I found myself smiling and oohing throughout passion, humor and angst. Final words, Ms. Peyton gives her readers a fun read with gentle love and well-matched main characters. Their chemistry was intoxicating. I look forward to this author’s next book, perhaps Addison will tell her story!
Favorite Lines:
Liars were rarely safe around women who made it their business to be in other’s people’s business.
She and Vic had an arrangement that worked out well for the both of them.
“I’m sure.” Tachina couldn’t help but laugh at her. “I’m not looking to shop for sperm…at least not yet.” Addison had tears streaming down her face again. She wiped them away and snorted. “Spreadsheets.”
He always was when he was around her. Not in a bad way. For some strange reason, his body always got excited when he was in her company.
But it was just like Tachina. Once she knew what she wanted, she just went for it. No manipulation. Just truth with a straight face.
All of that was foreign to him. It had him feeling like he’d missed a big part of his son’s life.
“Even now? Are you hoping that baby number two will give you two a second chance, so to speak?”
“But you weren’t a burden. It took two of us to create that little boy,” he said quietly. “I wasn’t there for you enough like I should have been.”
Tachina wanted to die—or laugh. She wasn’t sure which. Maybe she’d do both.
Something stirred in his chest. He couldn’t name it, but he felt it.
This woman caused all sort of emotions in him that he didn’t understand.
If desperation was a perfume, Sydney wore it as a signature scent.
“Don’t forget, because my perfume smells like a rich person’s ghost,” Tachina added.
It was like stepping toward a place his body recognized before his mind could make out where they were. Home.
In just a few moments, the man had calmed her anger, comforted her, protected her, and provided for her.

A Tiny Little Favor is a fun and engaging romantic comedy that blends humor, emotional depth, and second chance romance in a refreshing way. The premise is both unique and relatable, exploring how one impulsive decision can shape lives in unexpected and meaningful ways.
What stood out most to me was the dynamic between Tachina and Vic. Their relationship feels natural and layered, especially as it evolves from a casual arrangement into something more emotionally complex. The co-parenting aspect adds an interesting dimension, showing a different kind of connection that goes beyond traditional romance.
The story does a great job balancing lighthearted moments with deeper emotional themes. It explores trust, timing, and the possibility of love re-emerging when least expected. The chemistry between the characters keeps the story moving, while the complications that arise make it feel realistic and engaging.
I also appreciated how the narrative leans into the idea of second chances not just in love, but in life choices and personal growth. It adds a sense of maturity to the story while still keeping the tone enjoyable and easy to read.
Overall, this is a charming and entertaining read for fans of contemporary romance. If you enjoy stories with strong character dynamics, a bit of humor, and emotional development, this book is definitely worth checking out.

I feel like this little favor would win every round of “Never Have I Ever.”

A Tiny Little Favor, by Peyton Banks, was such a delightfully easy read. Tachina knows exactly what she wants, and she has the perfect person in mind to make it happen: her newly single baby daddy, and multi-millionaire Vic. The favor itself is not unheard of, but it is definitely not traditional, which made it even more entertaining to see how everything unfolded.

Watching Vic and Tachina navigate their situation while co-parenting their adorable son Kian and dealing with a messy ex kept things interesting without ever feeling too heavy. I found myself rooting for them more than I expected.

This is a smooth read with a cozy vibe and just enough drama to keep you locked in. There is some spice, and on a scale from 1 to 5, I would give it a 3.5. There's definitely the tension of physical attraction with a good bit of action.

If you like romance with a unique setup, a bit of tension, and strong co-parenting dynamics, this one is worth picking up.

Thank you, NetGalley, for providing an ARC of this book.

Tachina and Vic may be one of my all time favorite couples. Their story was relatable and loving, their passion for their respective careers were admirable, but their chemistry? Off the charts! They tried so much to deny what they had for each other (for good reasons initially) and once that burn finally came to a head, they were explosive together.

This story was unique in that it’s not the same tropes (even though I’m a sucker for most of any trope). What I liked the most about the story, was that it didn’t feel like I was reading a story, I felt I was really reading about my friends who are trying to navigate their love for each other while trying not to ruin a good thing.

A Tiny Little Favor was a great read with its spice, the chemistry between the main characters and the overall storyline. I’m a sucker for a pregnancy story, especially when it had a good start to it and not automatically something tragic(which again, I love those too). This book was refreshing and would love a sequel possibly with her bestie? *hint hint, wink wink*

Title: A Tiny Little Favor
Author: Peyton Banks

Format: NetGalley ebook
Genre: Contemporary, romance
Overall score:⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Spice level:🌶️🌶️🌶️
POV’s: Tachina (FMC) & Vic (MMC)

What to expect:
*Second chance romance
*Co-parenting for the win
*Accidental family

Safety:
No OM drama, a lot of OW drama but absolutely no cheating. No third act breakup.

Review:
I first found this author through her Special Weapons & Tactics series, so I was very excited to get an advanced copy of her newest title!

This second chance romance is written so well and full of feel good romantic moments between the main characters. I loved that they were able to talk about their feelings of expanding their family and were not ashamed to express their insecurities about how it would work between them and their son.

There was some OW drama from the MMC’s ex girlfriend but the MMC shuts her down.

Thank you to NetGalley, the author, and Xpresso Book Tours / RNB Publishing for the opportunity to read and review this title!

I really enjoyed this book. It felt quiet and grounded in the telling. Relatable because the unexpected often happens to change life plans.

Tachina and Vic were likable and decent characters. Two mature, realistic and levelheaded people. Both trustworthy and reliable with each other and their son. They complemented each other well. Genuinely knowing and respectful each other.

I also appreciated their coparenting. They didn't make it a dramatic thing; which took intention. Always with little Kian at the center of that intention. And what a wonderful little character he was. Sweet and funny.

The unfolding of their journey of love together was measured and thoughtful. Some drama on Vic's end, which only proved his honest commitment to Tachina and Kian.

Just a lovely story to read with a wonderful ending for all.

I absolutely flew through *A Tiny Little Favor*- this was such a fun, engaging read from start to finish.

Tachina and Vic’s story hooked me right away. Their banter felt natural and entertaining, and the chemistry between them made it really easy to stay invested. I also really appreciated that this is a romance centered around *grown adults*- it added a layer of maturity to both the relationship dynamics and the surrounding family drama.

The pacing kept things moving, and the mix of humor, tension, and just the right amount of spice made this one hard to put down. It’s the kind of book that has you smiling (and occasionally kicking your feet) while reading.

If you’re looking for a fun, slightly messy, feel-good spicy romance, this is definitely one to pick up.

Huge thanks to Peyton Banks and NetGalley for the ARC- I had a great time with this one!

Immaculate romance! 10/10. No notes. As I’ve said before – Black women being loved out loud is always going to be my vibe. The FMC and MMC are both grown, accomplished, and devoted parents. They communicate beautifully throughout the story. Kian, their son, is adorable. His presence adds so much joy and wholesomeness to the story but there was still plenty of time spent on flirting and spice. Best thing of all – how the Vic stands up for Tachina. No theatrics. No hesitation. Just direct and clear support of her, while shutting down whatever negative comments have been made. He don’t play about her or their son. I love it! Once I started, I couldn’t put it down and finished it in a few hours.

My first book with this premise and I enjoyed it. A very low angst easy read that I finished in one day. Vic is a dream book boyfriend and it was really nice to spend time with some mature and reasonable adults in a romance book. Tachina and Vic made a lovely couple and the only thing missing for me in this book is a little more clarity on why they had never considered being together during or after her first pregnancy. The other woman drama is this book was just right. Enough to cause some trouble and make the main characters think, but not too much and not too dragged out to really cause me to question the future of their relationship.

Overall this was a fun, engaging, and delightful read.

Spending the Block done right, with a side of cake. lol

I absolutely love this story. Kian was a breath of fresh air. He is such a wonderful 5 year old. Maxwell stood ten toes DOWN for T. She not a baby mama. She is the mother of his children, girlfriend and now fiancé. He don’t Play about her. I love reading how he showed up for her in so many ways. He made her feel safe. Also, the waitress with the cuzzo side hustle at the fertility bank was a hoot. To funny. Making sure ladies get rich baby daddies 😂😂😂 Bravo!

This was a great book to read and an easy story to get into. Vic and Tachina had so much chemistry. The fact that they started kind of unconventionally, as they were already working together with Kian who was just too adorable, made their journey kind of funny. They had the exes, the meddling family and friends, along with their own denial of the truth to contend with and it all made this fun romance with some serious steaminess. This is a book I would read again.

A great story to read with some mimosas.

I love the strength that Tachina represented, and the craziness she also showed. Vic sounded like a really great man, love reading about them. I am curious about Logan is he going to take a crazy ride, and will it be with Addison. I would really like to see the way that story goes. I know I would purchase it.
Will be reading this fabulous story over

This is my first book by the author and I loved it.

Tachina is an architectural designer. Vic is the CEO of his family’s real estate development firm. They met 5 years ago when she was designing the lobby in their building. One night of drinks turned into days and a son named Kian. They coparent and get along very well, but decided they would no longer be intimate after the pregnancy .

Tachina, now 36, is having baby fever and wants to have another baby. She wants Vic to be the father.

Their chemistry was amazing, it was sweet and Vic and Tachina were a great match. The only thing that irked me a bit was Tachina letting Vic’s ex get to her and had her doubting him, but I know there had to be some tension.

If you are looking for a sweet and romantic love story, with minimal drama and some good spice, I highly recommend this one.

Thanks to Xpresso Book Tours and NetGalley for the ARC in return for my review.

Sweet- the chemistry was very natural and authentic.

Low Drama- minimal drama that's resolved easily when the MMC clears puts everything back right asap.

Unique Premise - second chance romance with her coparent! I haven't read anything like that before so very refreshing

Spicy - Scenes were very open door but relevant to the story and read smoothly.

This was a sweet romance for me. I liked Vic and Tachina, though they took their sweet time getting their act together. So much time wasted. I also liked how Vic put Sydney in her place and did not let her shenanigans ruin his relationship. I would have liked to know the gender of the new bundle of joy. Overall, it was a sweet read, and I enjoyed it!

Tachina and Vic are incredibly engaging characters. Their dynamic feels natural and mature, especially as they navigate parenting, lingering attraction, and unresolved feelings. The “favor with benefits” setup adds a fun twist, but it’s the emotional evolution—those lingering looks, late-night conversations, and blurred boundaries—that truly makes their relationship shine.

I enjoyed reading Tachina and Vic story. Tachina was having baby fever and wanted another child. Who better to have a baby with than Vic, your first baby daddy. They already have a great co-parenting relationship what could go wrong, Tachina and Vic start getting feelings for each other and his ex wants him back. You will love finding out what will happen next, I know I did.

GREAT STORY⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

This was such a fun story. I really loved the concept, and the way the author built the MCs relationship was so natural. Once the FMC got out of her own way, and the MMC finally got the people in his life in check they finally found the happiness they wanted with each other. ❤️‍🔥❤️‍🔥❤️‍🔥❤️‍🔥

Tachina wants a second child, by the father of her first. Simple. Easy. Just ask. Vic agrees because deep down he wants more from Tachina than she realises. And Tachina wants the same. But exes have away of popping up when they are really not wanted. Nice easy read.
