I don’t think this book was meant to be easy.
I think it was meant to be felt.
Bleeding Wings is not a traditional romance. It’s a heavy, emotionally charged story about control, survival, and what it costs to take your power back.
From the very beginning, the pacing leans more character-driven than plot-heavy, and instead of rushing events, it sits in the tension. You’re not just reading what happens, you’re experiencing the slow shift in Athena as she moves from certainty, to doubt, to survival.
What stood out to me most was how subtle the control was at first. It wasn’t loud or obvious, it was in the language, the withdrawal, the small moments that slowly reshape her behavior. And watching her begin to justify what felt wrong was unsettling in a way that made it hard to look away.
Colton as a character is one of the most disturbing antagonists I’ve read, not because he’s chaotic, but because he’s controlled. Everything about him feels calculated, and that made his presence feel constant, even in moments when he wasn’t physically there.
And then there’s the shift.
The moment where the story moves from survival… to resistance.
The pacing doesn’t necessarily speed up but the stakes do. The tension builds in a way that makes you feel like you’re holding your breath, waiting for everything to collapse.
Athena’s transformation was one of the strongest parts of the book for me. Her compliance becoming camouflage, her learning how to survive within the system before finally breaking it. It never felt like weakness. It felt like adaptation.
And the ending…
This is not a story that gives you a clean or comfortable resolution.
It takes things from you.
It makes you sit with grief, with anger, with choices you wouldn’t normally agree with but somehow understand anyway. I found myself rooting for actions I normally wouldn’t, and that says a lot about how deeply this story pulls you into her perspective.
Dominic’s presence and even his absence added another layer of emotional weight, and the way the author handled that at the end left me with something that felt both devastating and quietly meaningful.
This is not a soft story.
It’s not meant to be.
But it is powerful, and it lingers.

This is the kind of story that makes you feel everything. It’s deeply emotional and unsettling, especially in how it portrays domestic violence - not just the obvious moments, but the slow, almost invisible loss of freedom over time.
It shows how control builds quietly… how excuses are made… how it all happens before you even realize it.
The FMC is emotionally strong and resilient, making her journey hit even harder.

Bleeding Wings is a dark romantic tragedy and man, did it deliver on that. The way Lilith Night told Athena’s story was so raw and real and heartbreakingly honest. This didn’t feel like reading a fictional story, i guess because it is the reality for so many women, everything just felt REAL. It made it so hard to swallow, but you owe it to Athena to listen to her story.
This was so incredibly well written; check your triggers and know that there is no HEA guaranteed.

This book was just what it claimed to be, a romantic tragedy. This book is for all of the survivors out there, and the ones going through it now. It was heavy and dark. There were notes of second chance romance but most importantly is people reading the trigger warnings.
Anyone who has experienced abuse or emotional manipulation is going to resonate with the FMC Athena. Anyone who hasn't? They are going to be enthralled and horrified with the reality that exists for so many women. It is absolutely horrifying and realistic. The way this scenario is portrayed is so accurate for so many.
Please prepare yourself for a ride you are not even able to step off of once you begin. The author is showing her talent in her debut novel. She is going places and I am going to be going alone with her all the way.

Bleeding Wings was such an emotional and heavy read. This is definitely a dark romance that leans deeply into pain, trauma, healing, and heartbreak. Getting to follow an abused survivor navigating life, trust, and complicated emotions while becoming involved with the motorcycle club MMC made the story feel intense from beginning to end.
The atmosphere was dark, emotional, and tragic in a way that keeps you invested even when it hurts. I appreciated that the story didn’t shy away from the emotional damage and struggles the FMC carries. The romance itself felt messy, raw, and fitting for the world these characters were in.
This book won’t be for everyone because of the darker themes and emotional weight, but if you enjoy tragic dark romances with damaged characters, emotional intensity, and MC elements, this one is worth checking out. Thank you to the author for the ARC copy.

Please check your TW before diving into this book! It is dark.
Your mental health is important and You matter.
This book had me sobbing from the beginning. It was like looking in the mirror and watching my past self all over again. Granted my story wasn't as brutal as Athena's but this book did make me feel seen in a way that really gut me.
I felt every flinch, I felt every time her words got caught in her throat, trying to swallowit down, I felt it all.
Without spoiling much, I will say, you will absolutely hate the MMC. You'll love the side characters and most of all you'll absolutely love Dominic.
This is truly, a beautifully written tragic story. Thank you Lilith for the opportunity to read this before its release.

Hands down one of the best books this month for me!
Bleeding Wings is a heartbreaking but empowering book. A non hea, which usually is not my type of book but let me tell you I devoured it. Despite it being a non hea I think the ending was perfect and couldn’t imagine it as anything else.
The story was written perfectly, and to great depth, and with much care.
You all need to give this book a go.

Sorry for the long rant, but I just finished and I have a lot of thoughts! I’ll be honest I feel like giving it 3 stars was me being generous because I was angry through most of the book and a lot of it didn’t make sense to me. It’s staged like real world not entirely far-fetched like some dark romances, but I didn’t feel like anything made any sense. From the beginning, I was so angry with her for ignoring the 5 million red flags he threw in her face like confetti then that she was so shocked when he became abusive. I just found a lot of it very hard to believe like why Colton was so crazy and acted the way that he did yet he let the same staff be around instead of changing the staff closest to her like he did the rest of the house, even when he put in motion censored alarms on her bed he still let Elena have access to her? He let Dominic have access to her when he could’ve taken him out right from the beginning like someone with that much control and money would have. Then they finally get free of him and they stayed in that small town for way too long and after only a few days of being there, she decides to chance going out on her own? That’s so dangerous when someone is hunting you maybe after a few months when things settle down not when you’re on the run. Also wanting to have one last good day, that’s what got them caught in the first place. Yes in the real world I don’t think that domestic abuse is anyone’s fault but the abusers but I couldn’t help but feel like Athena just kept getting in her own way and I was as mad at her as anyone else throughout the entire story!

Bleeding Wings by Lilith Night was such a strong and emotional read that really pulled me in, even if it was not perfect all the way through.
What stood out right away was the atmosphere. It has this darker, almost haunting tone that runs through the entire story, and it creates a really immersive reading experience. You can feel the intensity in the writing, especially during the more emotional scenes, and it makes everything hit a little harder.
The characters are a big part of what makes this work. They are not always easy to love, but they feel real in a messy and complicated way. Their struggles, especially emotionally, are written in a way that feels raw rather than overdone. Watching their relationships develop, shift, and sometimes fall apart kept me really invested.
Besides Colton being a POS that I constantly wanted to murder in every scene, this book was amazing.
The romance definitely adds to the overall tone of the book. It is not always easy or light, but that is kind of the point. There is a push and pull that creates a lot of tension, and while it can be frustrating at times, it also makes the connection feel more meaningful.
That said, there are moments where the pacing feels a bit uneven towards the end, with Colton and Athena, A few scenes could have been tightened up to keep the momentum going. Still, the emotional payoff makes up for a lot of that.
Overall, it is a really solid four star read. It is intense, emotional, and memorable, with a darker edge that sets it apart, even if it drags slightly in places. It was a great non-HEA.

As a survivor of domestic violence, as a child who watched violence happen, and as a friend who has helped someone out, this book healed a part of my heart I didn’t even realize still needed healing.
Athena’s story hit close. There were moments that felt so familiar it hurt. It felt like watching that video where someone looks back at their past self and just screams “NO!” because you know what’s coming. My heart broke for her over and over again. I shed so many tears, so if you're looking for a book that will give you a good crying sesh, look no further.
The writing was incredible! Lilith's emotional, immersive, and completely gripping writing was captivating.
I won’t spoil anything (but if you're reading and want to talk to someone...), I will say this:
First and foremost, check the trigger warnings and take care of yourself first. You matter, your mental health matters. Secondly, read this book.

Bleeding Wings is so much more than a romance. It’s a heartbreaking story about surviving abuse, reclaiming your voice, and learning what safety, trust, and genuine love look like after they’ve been taken from you.
This book put me through every emotion imaginable. I cried, I got angry, I held my breath, and more than once I had to put it down just to process what I’d read. But despite how heavy the subject matter is, the story never loses sight of hope.
One of my favorite aspects was that healing wasn’t portrayed as something one person could magically fix. It took courage, friendship, sacrifice, and people willing to stand beside someone until they were ready to choose freedom for themselves. That made the emotional journey feel incredibly meaningful.
The romance is tender, patient, and built on respect, but for me, the heart of this book was watching a woman slowly reclaim the parts of herself that had been stolen.
This is a difficult read at times, so please take the trigger warnings seriously. But if you’re prepared for an emotional journey, you’ll find a story that’s ultimately about resilience, hope, and choosing to keep living after unimaginable pain.

My first Non-HEA which is something I don’t normally go for, but I’m glad I did because the way the ending played out was perfect for the book. This book extremely HEAVY , and not an easy ready.

This book was devastating, beautifully written, and raw. It does not pull punches, it does not hold your hand. I love that the author provided apt content warnings. This is not a light subject and I think that she is respectful without romanticizing abuse. Don’t be me and binge read it in one day. 10/10 will hurt your feelings.

I had big feelings about this book, so I had to sit on it for a day to gather my thoughts and bearings.
First and foremost, it’s on sight with Colton Masters every day of the week that ends in “y”.
Maaaaaaan, this book gutted me. I’m talking about, I really felt my heart seize every time I thought things were either going to get much better or dreadfully worse. I could not put this book down and I have to send my friend my crying voice notes.
This book delivers on its promise to be so emotionally damaging and heavy. It’s a reminder of the atrocities victims of DV endure. It’s validating and comforting. If you have escaped DV, I love you and I am proud of you.
If I could give this book more stars, I would. I NEEDED this tragedy. It’s medicine to a sorrowful soul.

This book was heavy, it was real. And it was meant to be. Check trigger warnings, and remember your mental health matters. You matter. A romantic tragedy, that you can really feel. As someone who was in an abusive relationship, but not to this extent thankfully, it was heavy. I could feel myself in her, ignoring the red flags, making excuses because you want to see the good in people. This book not only dives into emotional depth with trauma, domestic violence, and isolation, but into survival and how hard it can be to leave.

Start by saying regretfully I could relate to the main female character. Slow burn. Started the relationship from their first meeting. As their relationship grew I grew to dislike Colton and his controlling ways. Hatred really grew in chapter 11 w the engagement how pressured he made her feel in public restaurant. The statement "You trust me", I will never see that question in the same light. Heart dropped when she said "I haven't chosen this, I just stopped resisting it" and that's how I personally felt for 18 years of my life. 50% in a new character arrived and you're filled w hope. But w anything good, eventually that other shoe dropped. At the very end healing and positivity happens. Story made me feel and will stay with me for a long time.

This book was emotionally damaging in the best way. I knew going into this it wasn’t going to be an HEA but it still destroyed me all the same. You wouldn’t know that this was a debut novel with how great the writing in this book was! This book was emotional, heavy, and unsettling. The development of Athena’s character shows the slow shift in her as she desperately tries to survive. The way the author showed us Athena’s thinking and mindset throughout the book made this even more emotional and real to read. There were so many times I wanted to throw this book across the room with the emotional roller coaster I was going through. This book is dark and do check your trigger warnings before you dive in.

How do begin to review a book that not only broke me but helped heal me too.
This book is a journey of so many things. I felt seen, visceral hatred, deep love, sorrow and happiness.
The story line is deep and dark and one you’ll never be prepared for, but will be so happy you took. I still think about this book and it will probably forever be that way. The writing is excellent. You really can feel the emotion and connection.
I highly recommend you read this, but check the triggers. You will feel feelings and deeply.

Bleeding Wings is heavy, emotional and not for the faint of heart. There are trigger warnings please take them seriously. This novel was so well written I felt Athena's fear, discomfort and anxiety so many times. If you are familiar with the Consequences series imagine if Anthony never found his heart, that's Colton. This book does not have a HEA but that doesn't mean it doesn't have a lot of heart. It will definitely not be everyone's cup of tea, there will be people who DNF not because the writing is bad but because it's intense. All that said, if you can handle super dark and intense I highly recommend this novel.

Please check the TWs before reading this book took me on a crazy rollercoaster my emotions were all over the place Athena was courageous, brave, and determined she fought against all the odds and Dominic 😭 my broke when he died he loved Athena with all his heart did what he had to do to keep her away from Colton but in the end he lost his life 😔 I was happy when Athena gave Colton what he deserved she was finally free but her being free did cost a lot but she had a piece of Dominic with her through her daughter and Dominic's word's that he spoke beyond the grave was so powerful this book is really amazing

The writing was great, it pulls you into the story. But, the beginning felt slow and repetitive. I loved the FMCs character development throughout the book. The side characters were all lovable. The MMCs calm & cool nature throughout the book was very annoying, which added to the feel of the story.
The ending was rough, but satisfying, sweet and sad. Overall it was a great story that makes you feel grief, anger, and sadness.

Check your trigger warnings before diving into this one. It is dark, heavy, and not for everyone. It pulled me in from the beginning and didn’t let go. At times it felt almost too real. The way it captures trauma, especially the slow, quiet loss of control was deeply unsettling and powerful. You don’t just read it, you feel every word and every moment that builds before you even realize what’s happening.
The FMC is incredibly strong and resilient, making her journey hit even harder. I loved the side characters and the small moments of light they brought. This is a beautifully written, tragic story that completely wrecks you.

This book did what it was written to do…. It broke my soul. This book is not going to be for everyone. Check your trigger warnings! But if you make it past the triggers, you will absolutely never regret reading this.

This book had me sobbing, heart rate spiking and on edge. I had a close friend go through something similar and she nearly didn’t make it out. My heart goes out to anyone going through something like this. Overall I think it was beautifully written and I believe it portrays everything very well, shedding necessary light on an otherwise not talked about enough topic.

WOW. What a powerful story. Please read trigger warnings before diving into this book, as it deals with an abusive relationship and is very deep, emotional, and dark - realistic. I won’t say too much, because I don’t want to give to much away, but this book will gut you in every way. So well written.
