What would you do to protect the one you love?

Fourteen years ago, I watched from the shadows while Ana Castellano danced, longing for something I could never have. It was enough... until the night I discovered the devastating secret chasing the light from her eyes. As I peeled back the layers of betrayal surrounding my obsession I learned that, for her, the answer is anything.

Now, for the first time since that summer, Ana has temporarily returned to where it all began.

She’s everything she was back then – fierce, beautiful, talented – and still elusive. This time I’ll find a way to break down her walls, despite the poisonous secrets we’re both guarding. Every second counts because the clock is ticking and I’m not the only one who wants Ana for their own.

As demons from the past threaten Ana’s sanity and safety, I have to wonder if the second chance we're fighting for will end in our own version of forever, or will she slip through my fingers again... this time for good?

Dark Encore is a second chance romance with strong themes of trauma, survival, and suspense. It features stalker elements and hurt/comfort tropes. M/F, medium burn, dual POV, ND + gray aro FMC. BIPOC characters and author. No cliffhanger, standalone, with a HEA guaranteed. Extensive CW listed up front. Recommended for readers 18+.

Looking for a good HEA with fun, heart, smarts and snark? Look no further. Carefully written with warnings, you follow two powerhouse individuals with strong different backgrounds learn about one another and form a very strong bond! A heroine needing no saving and a hero worth having your back. Fall in love with the little slice of the world that Misty shares with you and stay for the spicy scenes!

Disclaimer: I was an alpha reader for this novel and read an advance copy.

Hot DAMN.

It's a dark romance, it's a thriller, and it fills me with joy just how *feisty* and capable the FMC is. No damsel in distress here; Ana is more than ready to take matters into her own hands - but she doesn't have to.

Why not? Because our hunky, brooding MMC is just the way I like them: a grey knight who's willing to go to some ...questionable lengths to protect the ones he loves. If s*it goes down, I don't need a chivalrous white knight, I want one who gets the job DONE. Just...don't ask too much about how it got done.

And while a MMC who's ready to kick some a** is hot AF on his own, this book also delivers on the 🌶️🌶️ department. It's open-door, if you require that in your romance (as a grey ace myself I'm not picky and am content with closed door books, so if you're an extreme spice seeker, my perception of what is spicy is likely different from yours! I'm told this is a middle of the road spice level - ymmv).

I would say this book would also cater to thriller readers. It's a true mix of thriller and romance, with twists and turns and a dark, sinister sense of foreboding as the danger circles closer and closer to our heroine.

Be careful, Ana. He's watching you.

I absolutely devoured this book! It was the perfect blend of romance, thriller, and humor all rolled into one unputdownable novel. The spice was *chef’s kiss* perfection and the characters were so so well written. Highly recommend this for fans of Lights Out! You won’t want this one to end!

This was a great debut book for a new author. This author is a close friend of a coworker so OF COURSE I had to read it. I liked the strong FMC. She took no shit. I loved the flower meanings and felt that was a great twist.

My only negative take away is that it was too long. I feel like 30% of the book was repetitive about their feelings towards one another.

But the spice be spicin’!
