I used to compost back in 2005 with an old job, using wood chippers and massive quantities of food, cardboard and garden waste etc.

I'm now doing it in the garden in a smaller scale and using the worm castings or 'Black gold' to grow fruit and vegetables, which have been coming on great.

This book has been great for expanding my knowledge and if anyone is interested in such things, this is a valuable book to read beforehand.

It's basic and straight to the point.
I liked it! 🐛

Concise guide to vermicomposting

An informative guide to setting up a worm composter. Both commercially and homemade composters are discussed with their pros and cons covered. The different kinds of worms are described, although pictures of each species would have been helpful. Instructions on how to set up your worm bin are self-explanatory. Along with a useful list of which foods to feed the worms from the kitchen and garden. Uses of the resulting vermicompost are also covered.

An interesting chapter on the wider use of worms, such as a food source, was eye-opening. The Q&A chapter tackles possible problems that can occur and advice on how to solve them.

This book has inspired me to give vermiculture a go. A continuous flow setup is on the way!
