Super smart Porter Ross has made a dumb mistake. He’s fallen totally in love with Toni Corbett. He wants her in his bed and in his life. But when he makes his move, Toni says, “No.” Resoundingly.

He blames it on her crazy math. Toni’s counted the years between them and decided he’s too young for her and definitely too young to be a dad to her five year old son.

Porter sets out to prove her wrong and turn her no into a yes. If that means he has to make some personal changes, physically, financially, and emotionally, he’s all in. He’ll prove he’s man enough for Toni—even if it hurts.

I live on Vancouver Island in the moody, green, and rain-washed Pacific Northwest. So when I'm seriously story challenged (too often!) I often walk the beach and commune with the stunning and multi-talented Mother Nature. (Make that beg for inspiration!) If that doesn’t work, a few minutes thinking about the quirks and foibles of human nature usually does the trick.

I dislike cooking.
I dislike nosy people.
I dislike too many rainy days in a row.
I dislike snakes.

And the only word I hate is hate.

I love reading, writing, my sons, my sister, my twin granddaughters, my Rhodesian Ridgeback, Boon--and most of all my first and last husband, Tim.

You can follow me on Twitter, if that's something you tend to do. @EC_Sheedy I also mess around on Tumblr. That's here: http://ecsheedy.tumblr.com/

Should I let the walls down

Toni is a single mother that has been hurt once and refuses to be hurt again especially by a younger man named porter. She tries to find every excuse to say it wouldnt work but porter is not giving up he determined to show her how grown up he is. In the end determining if he is good enough for everyone is a tricky situation.

Note: I was given a free copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

This book is a sweet, quick read. And I mean this is a good way. The book is only 100 pages but the story is complete and a great book for a quick read. If you are looking for steamy hot sex scenes, you won't get it in this book but Porter is still a hot book boyfriend, even sans all the steamy details!

The book is about Toni, a responsible single mother in her early 30's and Porter, a carefree, fun-loving man in his mid 20's. Their lives are completely different but they have a connection. Porter wants her but she doesn't want to be anything more than friends claiming that the age difference is too much. Of course that is only 1 of her reason. Porter decides to give her some space but takes that time to work on becoming the man that she needs. Porter wants to be "Man Enough" for her and get advice from others to help her be that person. When he returns to see her she can tell that he has changed but some obstacles are thrown their way. It wouldn't be a good romance is the guy found the girl and no drama ensued right?!?
This book was a perfect combination of sweet and hot. I loved having the older mature woman (although I HATE having to write "older" when she is only 32!) and the younger playboy. So many books are about an older man meeting a young naïve woman. This is definitely not that scenario. I also loved that although Porter is young , he was man enough to realize that if he wants Toni, he needs to put forth some effort and he made some big changes for her.
I must say that I wish there was more to the story from when they first met and got to know each other. The book largely skips over that part and begins when Toni rejects Porter. Although there are some flashbacks, I think that would have given us more of a connection with the characters and their relationship had more of that early part of their relationship been written in.

I have not read the first 3 books in this series, and although I loved this book so much that I will be reading those soon, it did not take away from this book. There were some appearances from characters from the other 3 books which makes me want to go back and read their stories, but you can read this book first and not be disappointed.

Great Job EC Sheedy! I can't wait to read more of your books!

I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

Let me start off, that I absolutely enjoy this book. A coming of age story for Porter Ross as he realizes that he is in love with a much older woman, named Toni Corbett. After the humiliation he suffered after kissing Toni unexpectedly, he made it his mission to change the way he is perceived to her.

Toni didn't feel it was right to get involved with a man who is 7 years her junior. She didn't feel that he was ready to become a father to her wonderful five year son, Dennis. What she didn't anticipate was how much she really missed him after leaving Salt Springs?

Unbeknownst to her, Porter wanted to prove to Toni that he was man enough for her and that age is just a number and has nothing to do with the way a man and woman should feel. He decided to change his appearance and purchase a van to show her that he wanted to let her know that he was ready to become the man that she needed him to be.

Toni didn't know what to expect when Porter came back to Salt Springs when a new man has moved into town. Not wanting anything more than friendship with Sam, that she was seeing how young Porter really was around his sister. Would he change his ways if things were different? Would she risk her heart and take a risk at him being a father to Dennis? After seeing him with Sam's sister, her jealousy came into play as she didn't want anyone to have Porter but her.

When Toni finally gave into Porter, it was more than she had imagined it would be. The love he had for her was overwhelming and he made sure that she knows time and time again, how much he loves her. He put his feelings on the line and in hopes, she will love him back the way he does her.

After Dennis got hurt, when Porter went to pick him up at Toni's mom's place, he felt responsible for him being injured. Did Toni want him to be with her after what had happened to Toni? He was so sure anymore. All he knew was, to run away.

Toni tracked him down after not hearing from him for several days. Porter was so lost and the only thing Toni could do was to let him know that she wants him back. Be a father to Dennis and be the man, enough for Toni to be happy.

Thank you for a wonderful read. I will absolutely read this book again. Full a full review, please go to my blog which will be posted in the next couple of days.

**I was given a free copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. **
I've never read anything by this author and with that said, I wish I'd read the previous book to see how these characters were introduced in the story. But that's just me and my anal retentive need to read a series in order. I did enjoy the plot as well as the character development. The slightly older woman storyline was one that probably isn't addressed as often as the older man plot. Toni's need to protect her heart and her son's compelled her to treat Porter as a much younger friend when in reality the age difference was only 7 years. Porter's willingness to make the necessary changes to his lifestyle to win his woman over endeared him to me. They both suffered from insecurities regarding their age difference and their appeal to one another. The only thing I had a problem with was the quick resolution near the end. I look forward to reading the rest of the series (in order).

A Sweet Romance

I received a copy of this book for free in exchange for an honest review.
This was my first book by EC Sheedy and I enjoyed very much. If you want to read a short, sweet romance with very likable main characters, this is the book for you. I do wish it was a full length novel, it would have been nice to spend some more time with Porter and Toni.

short but sweet

I received this book free in agreement to give a honest review. Great story but I wish it would have been longer. I feel it could have been and wouldn't have been long and drawn out or boring. Thanks so much for sharing your story.
