Call Me Valentino - Fall in love this Valentine's Day as USA Today and Amazon Best Selling authors come together to bring you one sexy hero written in five different genres. Call Me Valentino uses the same hero type set in five different worlds. Your new book boyfriend is a cowboy, an FBI agent, A Highland Laird, a real estate developer and even a vampire. Which Valentino will be your favorite?
The Matron by Kirsten Osbourne Since being widowed, Cassie Morgan had devoted her life to the orphans in the orphanage she'd managed. When a new church took over the orphanage and decided to turn it into a boys' home, she was both frightened and unsure about how she would make things work for the girls. Being told she had to take fifteen young ladies all the way to Texas from New York didn't make her feel better.
Valentino Hayes had spend his entire adult life searching for the younger brother he vaguely remembered. Just after finding a lead that would send him to Fort Worth, he was offered the job of driving a bus full of orphans to Texas. He jumped at the chance, knowing he needed to not only find his brother, but work while he was searching. He didn't plan on Mrs. Morgan's love for the children to turn his head. Could he convince her to travel with him? And how was he going to provide for a wife while he was still searching for his brother?
Undercovers by Jamie Lee Scott When FBI agent Valentino "Vin" Jackson's undercover sting operation goes bad, he teams up with Special Agent Ellis Boyd of the DEA, who has some special talents of her own, to take down a drug ring working for the Mexican cartels.
The Brute and the Blogger by Olivia Gaines Tino Boehner was up to his ears with Ebony Miller’s pot shots at him on her blog. Just as he was trying to figure out how to turn the tables, fate dumped her in his lap. Seizing the opportunity, he made her an offer she couldn’t refuse; come work by his side for a month.
A month can be a lifetime, or just enough time to make a man want to change his brutish ways.
Highlander, The Archer by Hildie McQueen Valent made an oath to protect the McLeod clan after they rescued him as a foundling. However, after years of mistreatments at the Lairds hands, he questions his obligation to uphold his promise.
When a rival clan attacks and kills her brothers, Ariana McLeod's world is turned upside down. That she's fallen in love with the handsome archer, Valent, is a complication and a blessing at once. Amidst battles, revelations and treachery, is it possible to expect their love to triumph?
A Vampire's Penance by Jordan K. Rose The chain of events set in motion when Rafe Valentino tries to stop his brother from making the stupidest decision of his life borders on deadly. Rafe goes from being one of the most terrifying creatures to walk the earth to requiring around the clock nursing care. As if being physically injured wasn’t enough, the senior member of The Vampire Guard has no choice but to reveal the heinous secret of his past in order to protect nurse Maddie Van Kool from throwing away her life on him.
I received this book as an arc for a honest review. A Vampire's Penance is another of Jordan K. Rose's Central City vampire series. This book featured Rafe and nurse Maddie. Rafe is injured by setting off his own security forces against himself and Maddie has to care for him. Maddie has had a crush on Rafe since she met him but he pushed her away. Find out why and if his secret pushes Maddie away or brings her closer?
I have read 'The Matron' by Kirsten Osbourne and 'Highlander - The Archer' by Hildie McQueen. My review is for these two books to date.
The Matron is a wonderful read about Cassie Morgan and Valentine Hayes. Cassie is the matron of an orphanage that has been taken over by the church. The boys are to stay, but the girls must go. The girls travel from Orlan, New York to Nowhere, Texas. Girls are scarce in the midwest and they will be snatched up quickly by eligible men. Valentine has been hired to drive the females across country. Cassie accompanies the girls to ensure their safety and continue to serve as the matron. What follows is an enjoyable read and ties into Ms. Osbourne's other series, the Suitors of Seattle. Edna Petunia, a strange lady that enchants us all, enters into the story and ties the two series together. It is a delightful story and kicks off what appears to be a new Kirsten Osbourne series that I will wait for with impatience.
Highlander - The Archer is a great story about Valent McLeod, an archer, who was left in the McLeod clan lands when he was but 3 years old. He has been raised by the McLeod's and owes them his allegience. This is his story and what a story it is! I was left begging for more at the end of the story and had to go off and read book two in this series. I am eagerly awaiting book three with great excitement because I am completely caught - hook, line and sinker! Read it - it is worth devouring!
Since book three of the Highlander series is not published, I will work on continuing with the other three books in this set and if they do not distract me into continuing stories, I will come back and review those three at a later time.
Jordan K. Rose asked me if I would be interested in doing a Spotlight for the release of Call me Valentino by several great authors. She sent me an ARC of A Vampire’s Penance. While I have ordered the collection, it does not come out until today, so I have not read the other books in this boxed set, but I plan to. This is the first book by Jordan K. Rose I have read, and it was excellent. I found it highly entertaining and will definitely be looking for the upcoming books in this new series.
Raffaele Valentino is attracted to Nurse Maddie Van Kool, but because of his dark past, he will not consider a relationship with her, even though she has been casting out lures for him for years. When he is injured and needs around the clock nursing, he is faced with spending a great deal of time alone with Maddie.
When he realizes Maddie is not going to get over her attraction to him, he reveals his sordid past to protect her from the monster he believes he is. Will Maddie turn away in horror when he tells her his secrets, or will she embrace him in her love?
I thoroughly enjoyed this light-hearted read. The story is fast-paced and kept me turning the pages on my Kindle as quick as possible. I must say that for such a short story, the characters are well-developed and the romance between Rafe and Maddie is very believable. I was rooting for Maddie from the first for her to get past Rafe’s shield. I always enjoy a good Vampire romance and this one just hit the spot. Happy reading!
I was asked to read this book which is one of five in a set using the same hero in different worlds. This one is A Vampire's Penance and is set in the Central City Series. A world where Vampires are. Jordan K. Rose wrote this version. I enjoyed Rafe and Maddie's story and Rafe's need to be honest before he can move on but at what cost? Maddie who has a crush on him but he constantly rejects her now has to save him. I love Jordan's vampire books and can't wait to read more. The other four books I am sure are written well. I am looking forward to reading them. Thanks Jordan for letting me read this. Thanks Hildie, Olivia, Jamie, and Kirsten for putting Call me Valentino together.
I have also read Highlander The Archer By Hildie McQueen. I love Hildie's Highlander books. This one has my interest. It's two Highlander brothers against each other. While Valent isn't sure what clan he belongs to, he has pledged his allegiance to the MCleod clan since he was found when was a child. The McKenzie clan is their enemy, which is also where his brother has ties. There is romance, treachery, and more to this book. Thank you Hildie.
This book was great. There are five stories in the book written by different authors. The kicker is that they are all the same male lead character Valentino. You travel throughout the book into different times, from Scotland in medieval time to turn of the century Texas. Then to our time and you get, Urban Fantasy to Crime fighting. This book has it all. There is even comedy thrown into the mix. I cried a few time and laugh more than I can count. I hope that they do this again because this was fun to see Valentino get his happy ever after (most of the time)over and over. btw I bought my book on Amazon.
A wonderful grouping of book. With a wide range of stories that will satisfy everyone. With a common thread running through each book, The Heroes name. You will travel to Texas with our Valentino, and then find yourself falling for a Highlander, and it doesn't stop there. I thoroughly enjoyed all of them.
What a great set of stories. I have gotten the chance to read new authors & appreciate their work. I have read the start of a new series from an author I love. I am very excited to read more from each of these talented women. What a great idea this book was. I highly recommend this book to fellow readers.
5 different stories about 5 different men and not one of them is even remotely close. Each story is a unique opportunity to get to know the author and enjoy her own brand of writing. Enjoy yourself with each story.
I love theses story's the last couple weren't my normal reads but were very good! I thoroughly enjoyed this set and can't wait to read more of the series!
