SHEE follows the luckless life of a young woman, her pains and prejudices, her agonies and ecstasies. Sheetal, the eponymous protagonist of the tale, keeps at arm's length the one who holds her close to his heart, quite oblivious of the grim irony. Mahesh, her friend, guardian, and the punchbag for her anger against the universe, on the other hand, demonstrates the human potential to seek the other without aiming to control them, to have power over them. Hesh fully appreciates that in all human relations, the other is forever near the I, and yet far, far away. One should not reduce the other to a version of the I. His attachment to Sheetal is like a dharma that mediates his relationship with her, and modulates his behaviour towards her.
