Trembles Beneath

During the long dark cold winters on the planet Adentta, the villagers move from their farming villages into the warm caverns under the sleeping volcanos for survival. But this winter, the Sea Cavern under South Guard Mountain, is not so sleepy. Too cold to leave the cavern, the villagers must live with the knowledge that each tremble they feel might be the one that makes the mountain erupt. Since Adentta was knocked out of its normal orbit of their sun and into an exaggerated very elliptical orbit with an extraordinarily long winter, the people came to rely on the planet’s caverns as their winter home.
After many long years, the primitive Adentta villagers have depended on the caverns for shelter with the streams of molten rock far beneath providing warmth. But at the beginning of this long winter in Sea Cavern, it wasn’t the normal peaceful life within the cavern. Nearly daily, the Trembles Beneath the cavern reminds them of their impending doom if the volcano awakens.
