Will and Camille want to share their hearts as well as the full moons. But promises from the past are set to destroy them. Allison B. Hanson whips up a spicy new romance in Pledged, Book 1 of her new paranormal series, Pack of Lies.

Camille Anthony was abandoned at an orphanage when she was only a year old. She knows nothing of the parents who left her with strangers, and has spent her whole life struggling to fit in, without success. But on the night of the full moon, she undergoes a change she’s never felt before—she becomes a wolf. She hopes the changes will finally give her a place to belong, as well as answering questions she never knew she had.

Will Holbrook knows he can’t have anything long-term with Camille. After all, he is a wolf, and he was raised knowing wolves only marry other wolves. When she reveals to him that she is changing in the same way he does every full moon, he thinks things will finally work out for him. Until a new fear arises. Wolves are usually pledged at birth, and Camille has no memory of anything that might have happened before she was left at the orphanage. Could she have a mate already? What will he do if one shows up?

Pledged was an outstanding new adult paranormal romance told in Hanson's fresh voice.

The story begins with a young woman, Camille Anthony, not knowing who she is or where she came from. A product of the foster system, Camille has only had herself to rely on. She has received a sports scholarship to attend college but she works to provide her living expenses. Camille has become best friends with her roommate Gia, who at first appears to be a bit flaky for a friend. However, as the story progresses Gia's behavior and disappearing acts becomes clear. But first, Camille discovers something shocking about herself. She can turn into a wolf. Not knowing how to handle her new found wolfy-ism, Camille decides to hide it. However, hiding it isn't some easy when signs of her impending shift come out at the most inopportune moments -- like when she is on a date with Gia's handsome brother Will.

Will is sweet, kind, and considerate but also very reserved. He wants Camille but he makes it very clear to her that he isn't looking for serious. Oh yeah... he has a secret, too. He is also a wolf, as is his sister and their entire family. Will finds a completion with Camille that he's never felt with anyone else. He falls more deeply for her the more time they spend together. But Will is still reserved around Camille and she knows he's holding something back. Oh and this secret is a BIG one. And trust me... the drama really begins with that revelation and slams Camille on a roller coaster ride that she can't get off of.

Camille's loyalty and love are tested when her past catches up with her, and she is torn between two men. This is not a typical love triangle deal so don't let that deter you. The connections between the characters is apparent and there is never any infighting between the men. They actually handle "the situation" very amicably. Camille is forced to make a choice that leaves one man broken and another man at the mercy of a vile evil.

There is so much going on in the story that it's hard to do it any justice in a condensed review -- especially since I don't want to ruin the story for you. My best advice is to read it. You will enjoy it and be captivated by the depth of the story.

Wow, I really enjoyed this book. It is great how Hanson weaves a life like romance story around a paranormal story. It was fast paced with plenty of ups and downs. It left me wanting more. Great job Allison I am looking forward to your next book!
