London, 1886

Miss Sophia Shaw could see ghosts. It’d been a particular characteristic of hers since childhood and as she’d grown, she’d gotten used to the laughs and the stares. Trying to hide her oddities became as natural as hiding in a corner at a ball. But now, with her mother falling victim to a slow and grueling illness, and her mind tormented by the ghosts of people days before they’re murdered, she’s losing the stability she worked so hard to maintain.

With the help of the eccentric Earl of Houndswood, she embarks on a mission to find a killer and give those poor souls peace. But scheming her way through society proves nearly as difficult as solving a murder, and Sophie finds herself at the whims of both a criminal and her heart.

The shadowy alleys of London meet the glamour of the ballroom in this tale perfect for fans of Stalking Jack the Ripper and Bridgerton.

Morgan Fischer loves to read and write sweet, magical romances. She was the girl who grew up leaving the library with the maximum number of books you could check out, and has never stopped doing the exact same thing. The most likely place you can find her is curled up on the couch with a book, blanket, and glass of wine. Unfortunately, that too often gets derailed by her college classes at the University of Florida. But she manages to make it work.

Besides reading and writing, she loves dancing, painting, going on long walks, and listening to music. One of her constant goals is to combine as many of those interests as possible, causing a chaos of creativity 24/7.

The Twelve O’Clock Bookshop is her first novel, but she hopes to publish more very soon. Follow her on instagram, @morganlee_reads, to stay up to date with any new release information!

A Guide to Seeing Ghosts by Morgan Fischer is a thrilling murder mystery with spooky friends involved.

What would you do if from a very young age you could see things that others couldn't. Would someone believe you if you saw ghosts? Well, Sophia has always been deemed crazy because of this. But when the visions become something even spookier she had to go and find someone to help decipher them. There was banter, and there was a mystery lurking behind every corner.

Who was the murd3r3er? It was something that you really couldn't guess. I loved the interactions between the MMC and FMC, there was both a level of honesty they had to give each other in order to find out what was going on in the case. The author made me feel things throughout, I loved the candid conversations they had with each other.

If you want a murder mystery set in Regency with a touch of ghosts, this is the one for you.

Thank you Morgan Fischer for the free book.

Atmospheric. I felt transported back to Victorian London, set against a backdrop of fog, dangerous alleyways, social niceties, and intrigue, with a murderer on the loose.

A woman who sees ghosts, recently including the victims of said murderer. A man who despises the gentry he belongs to, who outranks most and yet chooses self-isolation and investigation.

An unlikely team, fueled by the need to find a murderer. I appreciated the banter, the journey from disdain to love, and the fact that I didn’t guess the killer.

Thank you to the author for this ARC!
