This type of urban romance love story is Ladii’s bag. I believe these characters are her best work. They are always multilayered and flawed. Even if the imperfections are annoying to read, they demonstrate how raw the characters are because nothing about life is perfect. I'm not unhappy about the cliffhanger; I just hope book 2 is as long as this one. I need the same buildup and momentum that this book had to carry over into the next because there are too many snakes coming for Tyler and Logic. I wanna see their relationship grow and I just wanna see how everything will unfold.

It's so refreshing to read a story by a seasoned author who has mastered the craft. I enjoyed every single page. This story flowed and kept me engaged from page one. There was so much to unpack but I loved how Nesha balanced serious moments with funny moments. It was perfect. I fell in love with Logic and Tyler's characters. And I am not mad at it ending on a cliff hanger. This was definitely a slow burn but there was so much happening that it wasn't as noticeable. I loved the themes of family and I loved how well-rounded her characters are. I can tell she takes time to craft amazing realistic characters and that's a skill. I'm excited to learn more about these two characters. I fell in love with Logic a little more. I loved his devotion and nurturing personality. Dexter was a great villain, along with Carla and Bobbi but they were so slow lol They really thought they could pull the wool over Tyler's eyes forever? The twins Shugg and Spice were hilarious. I really liked their characters too. I almost want a spin off with the siblings. I loved how characters from her other books were featured in it too. Rah and Czar etc. This was perfect I have nothing bad to say. I just have to wait patiently for Volume 2 to be released. Hopefully we don't have to wait for too long.🤞🏾

To keep it short and simple, if you know me you know ima eat EVRYTHING up that Ms. Ladii Nesha releases. She literally never misses, and this was no different; the banter never fails to get cackles out of me. One thing my girl gone do is write some bickering ass characters and ima always be here for it!
I never needed to read this 600+ page book in 2 days, but I did, and I'm only a little be ashamed of it! Lol. I wish I could read it for the first time.

Tyler pissed me off at times but that damn Aunt, Bobbi, and Dex TOOK. THE. CAKE.. I cannot stand those mfers! *deepest eye roll*

Can't wait for part II!

Great Read!!!

This book owes me nothing. It gave me everything. I cried, laughed, sang along, felt stressed, got angry, I even almost unalived my Kindle. I have read Ladii Nesha’s entire catalog, and this book easily sits at the top as one of my favorites. The inclusion of familiar characters from her music industry universe was a nice touch, as it added an extra layer of excitement to the story. The song selections throughout the story were top tier, and the lyric choices for the main characters were incredibly well done. I have not read many books where the lyrics felt this authentic and well written.

As a music baby and a book lover, music industry tropes are some of my favorite stories to read, and this is easily one of the best I have come across. The book captures so many real world situations within the music industry, personal relationships, family life, and trauma. It also, highlights the double standards and stereotypes placed on women versus men within the industry. It shows how people can get caught up in a lifestyle they never envisioned for themselves, along with industry politics and social media beefs. It highlights how social media and societal influence can play a major role in both your rise to fame and your downfall. Beyond calling out the industry, the story exposes the conditional support of people who only appear when it benefits them, while celebrating the real ones who stand ten toes down, push you forward, and hold you down.

Ladii Nesha! Ma’am this one was one for the books. Every single character was something else and the way Dex just kept getting beat up just tickled my soul lol

This style of urban industry romance is definitely one of my favorites. It was a nice plus seeing Czar again. And Shugg and Spice! I love them so much.

I live for a good cliffhanger so I can’t wait for the next book.

Need Volume 2 ASAP!

Now Ladii Nesha you know you wrong for leaving a cliff hanger like that! The character development in this book was awesome and I devoured this book. Tyler went through a lot in her life starting at a very young age which helped to shaped her problematic life but having negative people around you everyday that are just using you for what you have doesn’t help either. This is a story that will definitely stay on your mind and stick with you. It is a story of substance and I felt like I was watching a movie.

I paused my current reads to prioritize this one and I’m glad I did! Ladii Nesha did not disappoint, per usual! I really enjoy the way she writes her characters and develops them. I will say, the DV was pissing me off the first 40ish%! I wanted to jump in the story and shake some sense into her sooner. She wrote Dexter TOO GOOD because I can’t stand him!

I know I’m not supposed to be mad about the cliffhanger, so I won’t say I’m mad. . . But I am anxious!
I need an update on all the things, Tyler and Lo, Tyler’s career, Sage, Lo’s career, the cliffhanger!!!(don’t wanna spoil it). . . and unfortunately Carla and her triflin’ daughter.

Okay, I can’t say anything else without spoiling it!

Go read it, now!

4.5⭐️

Although a long read, it’s the kind of long that feels very intentional. FYI -It does end on a cliff hanger. 🤣🤣 whyyyyyyyyyyaaaaaaaa

Tyler a successful R&B singer with a traumatic past and a temper, is trapped in an abusive relationship, mentally, emotionally, physically and surrounded by people who benefit from her while keeping her dependent. I wanted to square up with so many ppl!

Logic, an aspiring rapper with his own story but never allowing the cards he’s been dealt to dictate how he carries himself. With the weight of the responsibility of caring for his siblings, he is trying to build a future that feels almost out of reach. His grind, loyalty, and confidence despite his conflicts made him 🤤🤤🤤.

The relationship between the Tyler and Logic is a slow burn where you enjoy the ride with the drama, banter with the side characters. He’s been aware of her long before they meet, watching her journey , while she’s drawn to his demeanor and presence as he steps on the scene. Their connection builds naturally through jokes, witty comebacks, tension, and timing that just never quite lines up… until it does.

What really stood out to me was how much space Ladii Nesha gives each character to exist outside of the romance. When they come together, though? The chemistry is effortless. It’s that feel-good, you know something is coming energy, even when you also know the timing isn’t right just yet.

The side characters were another highlight. Her friend group , Aria and Shane felt authentic in a way that mirrors real-life friendships, and even Logic’s friend group and sibling relationship was relatable and enjoyable to read. The dialogue throughout the book felt like conversations I’ve actually heard.

I also loved seeing familiar characters from Ladii Nesha’s shared universe pop up, it was so nostalgic.

The Problem THEY Could Handle!

Ladii Nesha did it again! With confidence, grace, and passion she penned another 5-Star masterpiece! She takes the reader on a complicated ride that moves from the past to the present, ensuring the emotional depth of every scene is felt.
Tyler and Logic's journey is an intense exploration of aging with grace, enduring hurt while seeking healing, and the real-life expensive price of lessons that come with stardom. Nesha brilliantly showcases the hard work, sweat, tears, and fear that paved their way. While the world may only see their current success, Ladii Nesha forces us to confront the grit and what it really took to finally see 'favor' on their side.
We are masterfully taken through their lives to truly understand and appreciate how they got here. If you're a fan of her work, like me you'll be hyped about your favorite folk that connect her world of stories. Those details gave this unfolding story the perfect balance it needed! Logic’s undeniable bad boy energy kept me fully engaged, and Tyler’s sassy, sexy vibes kept the momentum pumping throughout.
This is a highly recommended read!💜💛💚 Thank you for trusting us with baby! #LDARCTeam

This book had me hooked. Tyler’s story is heartbreaking and raw. After her mom was no longer able to care for her, everyone who should’ve protected her instead used her. The trauma she carried, the demons she’s fighting, and the way she’s just trying to survive made me root for her so hard. My heart truly ached for her but I know my girl’s comeback is coming, and I can’t wait for the next book to see her finally win.

Logic? Whew. He was everything when it came to his siblings. The way he stepped up, protected them, and loved them was genuinely heartwarming. Despite having a mother who failed all of her kids, Logic still became the stability they needed. And when it came to Tyler, he was sure, intentional, and knew exactly what he wanted no hesitation.

This book is heavy, real, and beautifully written. Ladii Nesha did not shy away from showing how trauma shapes people, but also how love and determination can still exist in the mess. Emotional, powerful, and absolutely worth the read. 📚✨

Now, Ladii Nesha come ALL THE WAY to the front!!! You need to take a bow! How does one write a 600-page slow burner that ends on a huge cliffhanger? 🧐Huh??? And, where is the publishing date for the next book?! 🧐 Ma’am, don’t do us this way! 😩🤭
Ladii Nesha navigates the storyline with such emotional depth, carefully balancing the plot's pace with character development in a way that feels incredibly realistic, particularly within the urban romance category. She brings her love of Detroit and the city’s music scene full circle, as she includes characters from her previous books, which was an absolute delight. And, in true African American fashion, the grief, violence and pain is accompanied by humor and a level of unseriousness and pettiness that we all love!
I am completely in love with her novels and can’t wait for volume two!!!! 🫶🏾 Go read this today, friends!!!

We need volume 2 😳

I knew Ms G son was Tyler dad. No I don’t feel sympathy for Tyler’s mom bc actions have consequences. I just wish the wife went to jail.
Dexter, Bobbi, & that auntie is having the life they deserve. Jealousy & hatred will destroy you!

Tyler irritated me & pulled at my heart strings. Yes everyone failed her! At the same time Tyler was 25 not 18, it’s up to us to want better in life. I don’t mean materialistic things, I’m talking mentally & emotionally. Love Shane & Aria down!
Logic is a good man! He deserves the world for all he does. The twins, Pearl, & Ali had me in stitches 😂

Problematic

Laddii Nesha once again dropping gems. I promise I have never read such a toxic story while giggling the whole way through. Not to make light of the issues people have to deal with on a daily. This story was so relateable you seen yourself or someone you're familiar with going through this.
I loved Lo and Tyler. They both got alot going on and probably need to be on somebody couch.
Highly recommend this

Ladii Nesha writes the hell out of a book. Most of the characters I hate but that’s how you know an author is great! I felt every single person and there’s no perfection in these people just like there’s not in real life. This book is amazing and kept me turning the page….

But this cliffhanger was too much!

Problematic by Ladii Nesha delivered every ounce of drama, loyalty, and chaos I was hoping for. From the very first chapter, the mess was messing — in the best way — and I couldn’t turn the pages fast enough. Tyler instantly became my girl. She’s ready for whatever, standing ten toes down, and her best friends? Top tier. Their bond, their energy, their ride-or-die mentality kept me locked in.

The story never let up. Every twist had me reacting out loud, and just when I thought I knew where things were headed, Ladii Nesha hit me with that cliffhanger. WOW doesn’t even begin to cover it.

This was a five‑star read without question, and now I’m counting down the days until Volume 2. If the next installment brings even half the heat this one did, we’re in for another unforgettable ride.

it was ok

Imma read the next book but Nesha know she be having these FMCs lookin a hot mess with this lipstick and buzz cuts. 🤣 Tyler gets on my last nerve with the hard to get shit. And I also feel like Shane and Aria are apart of the whole “ enabling “ thing cause why would they give her more drugs and liq if they know she already fucked up?

3.5 stars. I deducted 1.5 stars for the Diddy mentions - yes, plural.

I’m not going to lie, this was a difficult read for the first 250 pages or so. All the characters, minus Shane, were annoying as hell. Like please stand up. Dexter, the MMC, had way too many similarities as Taylor’s ex-boyfriend from Finally Famous. But overall not a bad read. I’m looking forward to part 2.

Whew. This book hit like a blunt and a heartbreak at the same time.

Problematic delivers everything I crave in an urban romance — pain, humor, sabotage, redemption, and two main characters you can’t help but root for even when they’re spiraling.

Tyler is Detroit royalty — a chart-topping singer with the voice of an angel and the emotional stability of a glass table on cracked pavement. Her backstory alone explains so much: a father living a double life, parents whose reckless choices forced her into the bitter, jealous home of Aunt Carla and cousin Bobbi (two villains I still haven’t forgiven), and an industry that never loved her — it just loved the money she brought in.

Add a toxic, talentless boyfriend named Dexter who feeds off her insecurity while pretending to be her protector? Yeah… throat-punch worthy from page one.

What makes Tyler so real is that her downfall isn’t just industry sabotage — it’s internal too. The substance abuse creeping through her success felt raw and painful, not glamorized. You literally watch her self-destruct while her so-called family and label quietly help push the button. The vendetta Aunt Carla holds against her niece is evil on a generational level. Every scene with her made my blood boil.

But enter Logic.

Baby, Logic is the definition of “good man burdened by life.” Forced into adulthood at sixteen to raise Sage and twins Shugg and Spice, he sacrificed his rap dreams to become father, provider, and protector. His loyalty to his siblings? Beautiful. His exhaustion? Heartbreaking. His circle — best friend Al and Ms. G — grounded him in ways Tyler desperately needed.

When Tyler and Logic literally collide, the story shifts from chaos to something unexpectedly tender and hilarious. Their banter is GOLD. Watching this broken superstar and overworked caregiver find comfort, humor, and understanding in each other was everything. They weren’t trying to fix each other — they were just surviving together, and that’s what made their connection so powerful.

The villains in this book? Top tier hateful.
Aunt Carla. Bobbi. The record label. Dexter.
Every single one had me screaming at the pages.

But the beauty of this story is resilience. Tyler learning who truly loves her. Logic finally daring to want something for himself. Their love felt earned, messy, protective, and healing without being cheesy.

This book will make you:
✔ Laugh out loud
✔ Cry for both of them
✔ Cheer when they fight back
✔ And absolutely want to fight the villains in the street

Urban romance with depth, heart, humor, and REAL stakes.

I didn’t just read this book.
I felt it.

⚠️ SLIGHT SPOILERS AHEAD ⚠️

This story takes place in the same universe as Finally Famous and Losin’ Control. You don’t have to read them to understand however but if you want more insight on Rahlo/Taylor or Czar/Marley I highly recommend it.

Tyler was fighting demons and a monkey on her back. The people who were supposed to love her and be her fiercest protectors were the ones who failed her the most and took everything from her; it started with her parents, then her aunt and cousin all the way down to that dirty dick ass nigga Dexter. She was too focused on trying to be the person everybody else wanted her to be vs the person she wanted to be and that led her down a very dark road.

Logic was THAT NIGGA. Not only was he extremely talented, he didn’t stand for any bullshit nor did he allow anyone to dim his light. He knew who he was before he even became anyone and those few times he forgot who was, Al and his siblings were right there to remind him. He knew what he wanted and he always went after it; that included Tyler.

I knew Bobbi was triflin from the moment she was introduced but I had no idea the lengths she would go to. She wanted Tyler’s whole life. From her talent, to her man, even down to her clothes, shoes, and wigs chile. Mind you she was the BIG cousin 💀

Logic’s mama was a real piece of work. Not only did she abandon her children for SIX YEARS, she had the nerve to come back and be mad that they weren’t struggling. As if she didn’t tell her then 16 year old son that he would have to “figure it out”.

Dexter was one of those niggas you just gotta kill. There was no rehabilitating him or teaching him a lesson because he was psychotic. He was petty, vindictive, abusive, manipulative, a pill head, and a sexual deviant. Not to mention the mf couldn’t rap and he couldn’t fight (unless he was beating a woman).

Man if this isn’t Problematic idk what is 😂

PART 2 me now please por favor author Nesha because boyyyyyy was this so problematic. The title alone fits this entire story and characters. Starting off with the life of my girl Tyler aka Ty she had it bad and continues to fight demons and face enemies left and right sis can’t catch a break ! Then you got my responsible lover boy Logic aka Lolo aka Lionel 🤣. He is such a goooood man when I say good man that’s a good man Savannah lol. This man provides for his family by any means necessary and when he loves hard he loves haaard 👏. Logic himself was dealt with bad cards. Two people so used to being disappointed by the people that were supposed to do right by them from jump it’s only right that they come together and become the people they needed. Ty needed a man like Logic to wake her up and smell the real roses because she was behind colored glasses for years and lead down the wrong path by enemies who wish her so much ill will just because of the light she carries. So much has happened that I don’t wanna spoil but this book was so funny as well and heartbreaking at the same time. Author Nesha always gets me laughing and my spirits high even in these hard times of life and if the book itself is harsh. I love the supporting characters they just make the book so well rounded even more. Cherry on top this book is 600+ pages aghhh I was so happy about that and I couldn’t put it down nor did I want to. I’m sad I reached the end but I can’t wait till part 2 drops because I need my people to win and get it together. As always any book by Ladii Nesha is a top tier read for me can’t wait to see what’s in store for this couple next 🙌❤️.
