If you want to find love in this crazy, mixed-up world, sometimes you've got to do whatever it takes.Piper Daniels has had about enough. She's just plain tired, of her small town life, her job at a greasy diner, and most of all, her boyfriend. It wasn't long ago that her best friend Amanda headed west in search of love. Maybe the time has come for Piper to join her. Maybe love is waiting for Piper out in Los Angeles, too. All she knows for sure is, there's only one way to find out. This novel is part of Kenneth Rosenberg's "Hollywood Romance Series" following the lives and loves of the residents of the Hollywood Sunset Apartments. The books in this series can be read in any order and "The A Hollywood Romance""Bachelor Number Five""Bachelor Number Nine""The Art of Love"
Kenneth Rosenberg is a California writer whose work has appeared in the Los Angeles Times, Surfer Magazine and other publications. Kenneth attended UCLA where he received a Bachelor of Arts degree in English Literature. When he is not writing, he spends his time surfing, snowboarding and traveling the world on a shoestring.
Piper is a feisty country girl from Ohio who breaks up with her deadbeat boyfriend Donny and hops on a bus to explore what life will give her in Low Angeles. She had been corresponding with Bachelor Number #9 from a TV show but has misled him with a photo of a tall blonde and given her name as Mindy. He lives in LA. Piper is staying with a friend, Amanda, who sings in a bar and came out 6 months before her.
Piper meets up with Damon (Bachelor Number #9) and claims to be Mindy's friend. Piper is like no one he has met. She is very loud, opinionated, stubborn, and takes no crap from anyone. After being intimidated by the city at first, Piper begins to realize that she loves the graffiti art and vibes of the city. Her artistic spirit comes out and she has some adventures as well as some dates with Damon and some huge fights and embarrassing moments. This was a cute and fun read.
Nice continuation of the story line. Glad to see that you could actually read this as a stand alone though. I wish Piper's confidence was real. She is just all over the place. Strong characters need to have confidence and not jump around all over the place. Hoping for more from the next book in the series. Still glad I read it and hopeful for a confident and secure female in Samantha in the next book.
Fun book. Not what I expected. Boy, Piper sure is a moody, kind of negative person and it took forever to never to like her. But that is what made it into a different book. Even mouthy, kind of self centered girls can have their happily ever after too.
Another great book by Kenneth. Piper moves to LA with Amanda after another fight with her boyfriend, Donny. She never thought about moving from small town Ohio,so is pretty much lost in a big city. She's really outspoken and something of a B****, so it's really uncertain if she can make it in LA, or back in Quincy like Donny predicted. Loved it.
So loving this series! After The Extra and Bachelor Number Five, I didn't know what to expect in Bachelor Number Nine. Piper and Damon's story is very entertaining.
