My recent run of very good books came to a grinding stop with “Sold To The Dragons” Looking back, I should have stopped when: • It was disclosed that “feminine release” strengthens internal muscles, which increases the chances of getting pregnant, so the more “releases” she gets, the better chances the “seed” have. • The words “brave” and “bravery” was repeated 14 times in 3 pages of the text, 4 times in a 7-line paragraph alone. • When I waddled through pages and pages of yawn-inducing dialogue which led nowhere. • He started “grinding his rod against her femininity” • It was revealed that bullets don’t work well on piercing dragon’s tough hide but arrows shut with speed and accuracy from a longbow will do the trick. • A 3-day mission to rescue a hostage was equipped with Royal tent (and that is a Royal tent was itinerated at every opportunity). The above-mentioned tent featured electric lights from a portable generator, indoor plumbing, huge four-posture bed with thick mattress plus two other beds, tapestries for the walls, gilded fireplace (what, no grand piano? This is really roughing it up!) • After deciding that she is not brave (here is that word again) enough therefore unworthy to birth royal babies, our heroine withdraws “physical intimacy” from dragon princes. So they decide to test her resolve by torturing her in a form of cooking dinner while tempting her with a striptease. (They we right – these were the most torturous chapters I have read in a long time)
What finally made me stop? A vegetable. You see, in Kira’s own words: “I never had a zucchini pointed at me before and I couldn’t help but realize that it was just about the same thickness and length as Blake and Steven’s rods when fully erect” I rest my case.
In a dystopian future, Curvy Kira Southerly is one of the few remaining fertile women left on the planet and she has resigned herself to the fate of being sold to a wealthy man who wants heirs. She's doing it to feed her starving brothers, whom she cares for very much.
Imagine her surprise when she discovers she's been purchased by one of the dragon clans that coexist with humanity. Dragons have, after all, been stealing fertile women for generations. Her new mission in life: Get pregnant ASAP. But there is a twist; sexy dragon shifters Stephen and Blake will have no choice but to share the curvy beauty among themselves. Whoever gets her pregnant, will become her mate. In the meantime, Kira will get to fulfill her every sexual fantasy....
These dragons might just as well have been regular men, because the world building was practically non-existent, except these guys were the "good guys", of course...
A few things that irked me: 1. Kira supposedly loves her brothers very much, yet she makes no attempt to contact them to let them know how she is, or even think of them. No homesickness because the sex is so good? Oh, please!
2. These dragons have a state-of- the-art medical facility, so why the heck haven't they, or the rest of this dystopian world, heard of egg donation? There's no need to buy a woman when you can just buy her eggs and undergo invitro fertilization? It's already being done today.
No, this book had a poorly executed plot meant to stimulate female readers, that's all. A while back I read a review by a man who summed up the book in question quite succinctly: This book was meant to give bored housewives something to masturbate to while they were reading. The same is true for this story, but I for one, wasn't even close to achieving the big (or even small) O.
I was given a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
First of all, I totally agreed to review this book on a whim. I didn't even know what menage was until I sent a message to Bob, after I found out I was accepted for the review... and she replied with a lot of laughing. It also turns out there is a sticker on facebook with three dragons on it. She sent that a lot as well.
So, I start the book. It's pretty interesting. The girl's family is starving so she agrees to sell herself at the auction as a way to help out her younger brothers. I get captivated it by it fairly quickly.
She gets sold, finds out the person is a dragon shifter and by "person" I mean two of them.
There's fighting over her and whatnot, while there's also drama going about in the shifter realm. Until she's finally, "C'mon guys. You should both come at me together. BFFS, man." Okay, that quote isn't in there at all. But it's basically what happens.
Anyway, there's two dragon shifters trying to get her preggers. Lots of "fun times to be had."
The plot of the story is pretty interesting. The narrator did a pretty good job as well. My issue was with the repetition. "Slick folds" and "steel rod" was used pretty much every time something to do with sex occurred. Actually most of the story is pretty repetitious. A sentence will be said, and then said again ALMOST IMMEDIATELY.
Without the narration, I'd give this story 2/5 platypires - but since this is an audible review and I actually enjoyed Meghan Kelly's narration... 3/5 platypires
The plot was good in theory, but unfortunately, the book was so repetitive and the dialogue so ridiculous, it was borderline unreadable. It was part of a three book set and, needless to say, I will not be going on to read Sold to the Bears or the third... I found myself skimming. A Lot. Kira was obsessed with proving her bravery and voiced this ad nauseam. I trudged through, thinking perhaps the hot menage scenes would be the saving grace. I think I gave up hope during the men's kitchen strip tease when one pointed a zucchini at her, and she couldn't help but notice the similarities to his manhood. Pages upon pages of repeated text and descriptions didn't help (yes, I know how fancy the royal tent is now. Thanks.) This came very close to being a DNF for me...
Ugh!!!! I was so excited about this thinking it would be a fun menage. It did have much of that, however I do not like menages that do not stay that way. If you have a menage book , please note it not okay to have a trio end in a duo. There were feelings there until the author decided to make it just the two. I was not happy and seriously annoyed I read until the end.
I am so annoyed I cannot properly review the story. I can say it dragged and had many odd moments. I felt the same here as I did with the other book I read by this author. It is stilted and formal at times. Very odd storytelling. I don’t think this is an author for me.
It is a smexy read all from Kira’s POV. She is not a character that I enjoyed. She was inconsistent at best.
I listened to the audiobook narrated by Meghan Kelly, who is always delightful. She has a wonderful read that made me keep listening well after I had lost interest. I love her tone and energy throughout the read. Her voice is a perfect tone for both male and female voices. She keeps things consistent and does her best to pick up the pace of the story.
There are many fans of this author, I just do not appear to be one of them. I wanted to love it because the blurb sounded great. The concept is solid the execution is not. I am sure there are many who will love this, it might be your style, just wasn't my cup of tea.
Disclosure – I received this audiobook in exchange for an honest review. All thoughts opinions and ratings are my own. I was under no obligation to post a review or give positive feedback.
*** I hope this review was useful to you and helped your decision to read or not read this book. I love reading and sharing my opinions with other readers. I listen at double speed; all my impressions of the narration are from that setting. Thanks for taking the time to read my review! It was very much a "meh" book. Writing was alright, lead female character was a bit annoying and sometimes unlikeable. I liked the idea of the dwindling fertility thing and women being sold as breeding factories so I'll read some more - different characters, hopefully not as tedious as in this one.
For me the book started at promising and had my attention. Towards the middle it started losing some excitement for me and I started skipping pages to get to the end. I did like the happy ending, but was left wondering what happened to the brother Steven.

* NOTE: This audiobook is NOT suitable for listeners under the age of 18 due to graphic sexual content.
This book is set a few hundred years after "The Freeze" which decimated the world's population. There were other negative effects on the world caused by "The Freeze" one of which was that dragons, once thought to be mythical, became to roam the earth.
Fertile women are in short supply. So much so that their families are offered huge sums of money to allow these women to be auctioned off once a year.
Kira's family is so poor that her two younger brothers are in danger of starvation. In order to assure her brother's continued survival, Kira agrees to be sold at auction.
Kira is purchased for a huge sum which is enough money to feed the family she is leaving behind for the rest of their lives.
Kira discovers that she has been purchased by a family of royal dragon shifters. These are men who have the ability to shift between human and dragon form at will.
At this point in the story I was definitely intrigued. I was looking forward to learning more about this dystopian post-apocalyptic world. The introduction of dragon-shifters was an interesting twist.
Kira discovers that she has been bought in order to become the mother of a child with one of two royal brothers. The plan is to have sex with both brothers. Once she becomes pregnant the royal doctors say they can determine which brother is the father with a simple drop of Kira's blood.
* SPOILER ALERT*
This is where the book starts to get ridiculous. The author obviously intended that the story take a sexy and erotic turn and has multiple sex scenes. The words "slick" and "rear" are used repeatedly. In fact, they are over-used.
Kira is supposedly stunningly gorgeous. She is unaware of her beauty which makes her even more appealing to men. At the beginning of the book she is like-able, but as the book goes on she starts to come across as a narcissistic bimbo with serious self-control issues.
When the boy's father is kidnapped she offers to give herself up in exchange for his return. This sounds noble, but in fact her offer has nothing to do with wanting to save their father, it has to do with wanting people to think she is brave and wanting to have stories told to her children about how wonderful she is.
After this her behavior only gets worse. She starts fantasizing about having sex with both brothers at the same time. She repeats this fantasy over and over in her mind so often that when it finally does occur the reader is thankful that they will not have to listen to her fantasize about it anymore.
This book has great potential and I would have enjoyed it more if there were more story and less whiny scenes.
I am not sure if it is the way the narrator voices the character or just the way the character was written, but Kira is just plain whiny and there were numerous scenes where I wished I could smack her.
I give this book a 3 out of 5 star rating because of it's potential. I would have rated it higher if it had more story and less gratuitous sex scenes.
I read / listened to this story in audio format via audible.com. I always choose the audio books first as the narrators tend to breath life into the stories like giving them a heart beat! With many different voices and accents, audio books give us constant entertainment while allowing us to be hands free as we read to drive, work, walk and/or even do chores!
Wow, this book is way better than I thought it would be. Sold to the Dragons is a sexy erotic paranormal story. It has a good plot and suspense too, along with hot steamy sex, romance, action, adventure & danger.
Kira Southerly lives in a very poor village and her family is starving. She agrees with her father to sell her at an auction for breeding purposes. The money they make will feed her family forever. At the auction block, Kira almost runs away until she sees her little brother drooling over a guards plate of food. Read along as Kira get purchased by a royal family of dragon shifters and 2 brothers compete for her hand in marriage.
I enjoyed reading this book and even found it to be a fun read. Lots of adventure in it too and an actual story to follow along with. The author, Amira Rain did a fantastic job writing this story. The narrator, Meghan Kelly fully entertained me with all her voices and accents. This book is a perfect example as to how a narrator makes a book even better to read / listen to! If I could have 1 wish, I would love to be able to ride on the back of a dragon as it soars through the sky! Good job ladies!
This was my first book by this author and found myself very impressed with her writing skills. The story line was well written and the characters even had their flaws which I found I liked knowing. There was chemistry between the characters which at times got hot. Lol You will laugh and cry along with these characters. No spoilers but I did find my heart breaking for one of the characters and had myself a good cry. With that being said I would recommend this book to all my friends. Beautifully written Amira. I look forward to reading more or your books.
I came across this and decided to give it a shot. The story itself had promise. I enjoyed it but it honestly could have been much better. It started off so great I loved the guys and I loved that she found love. Then all in the span of two pages she decides she only loves one of them?? There really needed to be a way for them to all be happy together. I needed more from this story.
Well written short story about again infertility and women being a commodity. The dragons are intriguing and well constructed. The woman of course gets to sleep with both brothers until she becomes pregnant. She end up with the one she falls in love with which gives it the happy ending.
I liked this book A LOT, until I got to the end of the book, I thought it was supposed to be HEA for the trio, too bad it wasn't. I would have much preferred if it had been, would have given 4 Stars instead of 2 :(
This wasn't too bad of a tale. I thoroughly enjoyed that fact that the heroine did make mistakes and took steps to improve her own mindset and ideals. The male characters, however, were creatively neglected and in the end when the female chose one brother over the other, it felt like she did so more because that male let her do something the other said no to attempting.
Granted there were a few issues glossed over or only briefly addressed and solved which made the reading seem a bit cliched but overall I'd recommend this story for a weekend book fling.
This was a really good book however, comma I was really upset with the ending because Stephen left. That made me upset. Granted we never find out if he gets his happy ever after. I love the setting and the explanation of what happened to the population. It's kind of scary that it could become a reality (not sure about the shifter part but the population part).

Well done, though I think she shouldn't have had to choose. I've always believed that you can love more than one person at a time. Reasons I enjoyed this story: Action-packed, Easy-to-read, Entertaining, Funny, Great world building, Happily Ever After, Page-turner, Steamy, Wonderful characters.
This book has a lot of action. Good characters with likeable personalities. I was a little bit surprised as to where the storyline went but it does leave it open for more books. Excellent performance from Meghan.
Ok, I didn’t really read all of it. I couldn’t when she was told that which ever son got her pregnant will be her husband. I hate the why choose? I’m all about having both. So I didn’t read it.
This is once again an audiobook listen/read for me. The narrator for this audiobook is Meghan Kelly and while her voice was pleasant enough to listen to, her pacing is terrible. She was reading so fast that I felt I was racing through the book rather than listening to it. Imagine someone talking really, really fast to you because they were in a hurry to get what they had to say out as fast as possible. It's like that. Her male voices were decent when she deepened her voice but for some reason, she made the two heroes sound like muscle-bound, smirky Neanderthals. This is my third audiobook and I've yet to find a narrator that I really like. Amira Rain has created a world with an interesting premise and a lot of potential. Unfortunately, it all falls short. The world itself, post apocalyptic, women becoming increasingly infertile so fertile women were sold at auction to the highest bidder to help families survive is very intriguing. Then she gets lazy and makes the town of where Kira's taken to exactly like any large modern day city with all it's amenities and technologies. It's also too bad her characters are dull and one dimensional. Let's start with Kira. Someone save me from stupid heroines. Someone save me even more from stupid, slutty, nympho heroines who feel like they have something to prove. Kira goes from "Oh, I don't think I could have sex with just anyone who buys me" to all she can think of is sex. When she's not thinking about sex, she's talking about having sex, then she's having sex, and thinking about having more sex. After that, she wants even more sex and she wants sex with both the brothers she has been bought for together, repeatedly and when she doesn't get the sex for one night, she gets frustrated and sulks. Then something goes wrong and she decides to withhold sex from her partners because, hello! she has something to prove and no sex until she proves herself, although that little stunt doesn't last very long. Since we're on the topic of sex, let's talk about the sex itself. It's clinical and unsexy. Insert tab A into slot B. Repeat. Furniture assmebly instructions are more arousing than Ms Rain's attempts at writing sex. I get this is an erotic romance, so there will be lots of sex but for goodness sakes, at least make your sex worth reading. The brothers Blake and Stephen had so much potential and let's face it, I was predisposed to like this books because ... dragon shifters! But no. It was not to happen. The brothers are walking clichés. One dark and broody, the other smiley and jokey. Sadly, the narrator didn't help either, so they just came across sounding clichéd and spouting things out of their mouth that made me think, no man in their right mind would say that shite. That sounds like something a woman would want to hear a man say, rather than something a man would say. Yes, I get that I'm reading romance and a lot of it is fantasy, but at least make your dialogue believable, Ms Rain! I also wonder if Ms Rain realises how ridiculous Kira actually is when she and her maid decide that they want an adventure and try to convince the men to take them along for a hostage rescue mission so that they could have a little excitement in their lives. Seriously? Ever seen any Navy SEALs take their girlfriends on a mission? Again, spare me from idiotic heroines. Yes, I know it makes me sound like a heroine hater, and I promise you, I'm not, but the Too Stupid To Live heroine is very passé. At least give me a heroine worth reading and liking instead of one I want to strangle. Yes, I made it through the whole darned book. It's an audiobook and I've said it before, when it comes to an audiobook, I'm a captive audience. I will get to the end of it and just grumble in frustration through most of the way, but it's moderately entertaining and occupies my mind while I'm on the cross trainer and while I'm driving. Would I recommend this book? No, and it saddens me to say no especially because ... you know ... dragon shifters. I do have another audiobook of another one of Ms Rain's books. I will get through that as well, I expect, since it's an audiobook and I drive. I'm not holding out high hopes though. It will be something else to laugh and grumble about.
Ok, I was excited to read this and when I started I kinda liked it. Then about halfway through I got really annoyed with the heroine. Her constant "desire" to be brave for instance. Ok...on some level I understand what she wants and means but she was too obsessive about it. She reminded me of a child who got her toy taken away. The thing is the author just didnt describe it well and she kept repeating things over and over. I swear I read the word brave and bravery like 20 times in little time. She is definitely repetitive in regards to the story. I hated the ending. It made no sense. I mean she dropped Steven like hot coal! Wha? She loves him and was willing to just end it like that because she loved Blake better and he understood her better? What the hell? Why couldn't she keep both? Steven was more laid back and funny and dominant and fun to be with. She had an easier rapport with him. Blake understood her better and was a great guy so this could have worked her being with both. I mean Tom told her in the beginning that once she was pregnant she could have whatever arrangement they agreed on. I just think things should have been ended better with Steven instead of Kira never saying a word to him. I didnt like how Steven was tossed out like yesterdays garbage. I sincerely hope that Steven gets a story because it ended with him leaving the clan period which I dont blame him because he loved Kira with everything he had and it made me so sad how he was just left like that. I think I would have reacted better if there was an indication that he would get his own HEA. I dont understand why this writer had Kira form this bond with both men...throwing love and everything into it. Intimacy if she was only going to be able to choose one? I understand the sex with both and getting to know but because she put unconditional love within all 3 I think thats where she went wrong. I thought it would have worked out that both Steven and Blake worked it out to both be with her. Usually how some of the other books like this work and this just ended way different. Its a good idea for a story but it didn't achieve the desired effect I dont think. Things should have been better explained and more detailed. I mean we dont even know how Steven felt other than he left. I've read this author before and have liked her stuff but this just irked me. LOL.
TECHNICAL DETAILS Title: Sold to the Dragons Written by: Amira Rain Narrated by: Meghan Kelly Length: 5 hrs and 28 mins Unabridged Audiobook Release Date:03-04-15 Publisher: BMB Digital Ltd
Story –The story had a lot of potential, I liked the premise, it was just not executed very well. Some of the issues I have with the story; there is no explanation for how the dragon shifters came about, just the world had some extreme weather heat and cold, women have become less fertile and then wow, suddenly there are dragons, so world building could have been a bit better. When we first meet Kira she is very likeable but not so much further in, there were a few TSTL moments and then the whole “I’m not worthy to be a mother, to be with Steven or Blake, I have to prove myself” spiel had me rolling my eyes. The other issue that took away from the enjoyment of the story was the excessive use of so many clichés; “my most sensitive spot” “my femininity/parts/folds, lips” (used 30ish times), “stiff/steel rod” “erect/stiffened/stiffening manhood”. This is supposed to be erotica and be sexy and the use of all the cliché words just made me cringe and to me was not sexy at all. I was also disappointed with how it ended/wrapped up
Narration – I thought the narrator sounded familiar so went back to my audible library to see if I had listened to her before, she narrated a short story I listened to last year. I think her narration has improved from the issues I had previously and in this book I thought she did a good job. My complaint is mostly Steven’s voice, while Blake and the other male characters seemed to have a “normal” tenor to the voice, the one she gave Steven made him seem smarmy, …on occasion she slipped into that same tone when speaking as Blake,
So all in all the story was not as good as I wanted it to be so 1.5 stars, the narration was good and for me averages a 2.5/3 stars.
Audiobook provided by narrator for an honest review
To save her family from starvation, Kira is sold at auction for her fertility and beauty. She is bought for a large sum of money by an older man, and resigns herself to having his children. Then she learns she will actually be bedding his two devastatingly handsome sons Steven and Blake and whichever son gets her pregnant first will be her husband. Of course, it's not all fun and games – they are dragon shifters and fighting a dangerous rival clan.
You may enjoy this book if you can accept: 1. The ridiculous premise (fertile woman auctioned to dragon shifters to have their babies) 2. Dragon shifters named Steven and Blake (I'm sorry, but have you ever heard any less dragon-like names??) 3. Virgin Kira doesn't even say a full sentence to Blake before she jumps into bed with him 4. The brothers are unhappy with the arrangement of sharing Kira, but THIS IS THE WAY. (Why wouldn't the older brother just get a wife first? Because then there wouldn't be a menage storyline)
However, can you get past lines like this?: "The feminine folds between my thighs were incredibly slick." She uses this same exact description FOUR times in the book. How about: "He moved his hands to the fullness of my rear." Are you gagging yet? I am.
The sex scenes are incredibly repetitive, and frankly, boring. The same descriptions are used over and over. The word "slick" is used 11 times, "slickness" 6, and "slicker" 2. They do not orgasm, they "release" (word count: 20). And Kira's "most sensitive spot" is described 11 times.
Overall, a mildly entertaining premise with a post-apocalyptic future and a unique mythology, but very poorly executed. I thought I was going to give this two stars, until I got to the terrible ending. Everything is hastily and unsatisfyingly wrapped up. Do not recommend, unless you are prepared to cringe the entire book.
I have never read anything before by Amira Rain, I was pleasantly surprised. I loved the fact that its a decent length (almost 200 pages) and the fact that its a stand alone. I’ll have to keep Amira in mind when looking for books. The negative about this book... I realize its a dystopian setting, but the use of cell phones just Irked me a bit. (when most shifters will mind speak) I did have bouts where Kira annoyed me and I wanted to shake her til her teeth rattled. But I also adored her and her loyalty. Did this end with a HEA? That would depend on you and what you think when you come to the end. Both brothers sexy as gods but each distinct personalities. One grounded and balanced in the way he thinks, the other not so much, maybe more so a bit selfish. When the time has come that fertile females are rare the brothers has to share a female between them, until such time as a child is conceived. Coming from a poor city where most of the time her and her family went hungry, Kira is sold for a record breaking price at the auction. Sometimes I thought she forgot where she came from with her snippiness. Never lose sight of yourself but also balance that out with remembering where you came from. There are two fractions of dragons one good and one bad, of course. The bad.. As spotted Kira a beautiful and fertile woman and they set out to get her back. I liked the concept of the story and I liked the characters hence the reason I rated it 4 stars. It started out with more detail than I wanted but smoothed itself out to be a book I enjoyed. Good and bad dragons, a short little spanking, some pretty decent naughtiness and even some jealousy and child like behavior (lol) I still loved it. Recommend it and hope you enjoy... I did.
Another fabulous story from Ms. Rain. This story drew me in right from the start, and kept me interested all the way through. The characters were well developed, without seeming "one-dimensional." The background of the story is one that has been used before, after the collapse of current governments, fertility in women has decreased dramatically. However, this time a wonderful explanation for why the collapse occurred has been offered. Given the concerns over global warming, the thought that the world grew unexpectedly heated for several years followed by several years of freezing temperatures is something that can be readily accepted. I have to admit that the eventual revealing of the suspected cause of the decreased fertility surprised me.
I was given an ARC copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. If you enjoy reading shifter stories or any dystopian story, this is definitely one you will enjoy. The reasons for the world situation are ones that your mind will easily accept. Thank you for yet another enjoyable read!
I loved it. What would you do for the ones you love?
My answer ANYTHING and that’s exactly what Kira Southerly did. I am a fan of Menage, and willing partners so this book fits the bill 10 fold. It has action and adventure.
Women who are fertile are a rarity, so they can fetch a high price. And Kira does she is sold to dragon shifters. Brother oh yeah Steven and Blake are a couple of hunky dunky bachelor’s wanting to find there mate.
Only one can be the mate so whoever gets her pregnant first get the girl so to speak. Loved the battle of dominance between these it’s no wonder Kira can’t get enough seriously! Among other things they are also in a battle with other dragons that are in need of fertile women as well and they don’t play nice. I kind of wished the story went on I was really enjoying it.
This is now the 3rd book by this narrator and I have to say its best of them all. I felt a part of the story as if I could close my eyes and see it play out like a movie and that doesn’t happen a lot especially with paranormal/shifter books.
I loved it! Another exceptional novel by Amira Rain. Exciting! Well Written! Imaginative! Captivating! Thrilling! Suspense! Romantic! Sensual! Steamy! Sexy! And oh so hot! The story and dialog were smart and thrilling. The characters were fascinating and sexy. In an imagined future, a catastrophic meteorological disaster has ravaged the earth. Many people died but the ones remaining struggled to live with little good and no medical care. There were very few fertile women left so each became rare and very valuable. These women were sold at auctions for great sums, bid upon by only the wealthy. Curvy Kira Southerly never considered herself beautiful but she was fertile so to help her father and brothers, she agreed to be sold at auction. Kira could never imagine that she would be sold to dragons. What? And that not one but two handsome sexy dragon shifters would compete for her affection! Oh my! Great read!
Honestly, this was essentially written porn with a story only strong enough to give the characters a reason to have sex. Don't get me wrong, it was really steamy, but the story is almost non-existent. Some readers will enjoy this, but I would have liked to have read more about the war between the shape shifters. The dialogue was awkward and the back story sounds like it could have been very interesting, but the exposition was delivered so completely all at once that there was little reason to discuss it later in the book.
I listened to the audio version of this book and the narrator didn't do too bad of a job. I imagine it must have been difficult to narrate so many sex scenes.
Not really about dragons, despite the title.
**I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.**
The style of this book is so similar to the previous one in an anthology that I think the two authors are one and the same. Bonnie Burrows and Amira Rain both use cringeworthy phrases such as 'feminine folds' and 'feminine bud' and only refer to male anatomy as 'rods' and 'members'. The two dragon stories are also very similar with a love triangle between a naive human woman and two dragon shifters in a post apocalyptic world. In this one, two brothers love the same girl at the same time. All are happy with the situation. For some daft reason girl insists she has to prove her bravery (by fighting) in order to be a mother. I really wonder about the age of the author....
Apart form the teenage dialogue and the whiny lead character, This one breaks the cardinal menage story rule, that a trio ends up in a group HEA. This one doesn't, and the reason given is stupid and I mean STOOOPID.
This was a very well written and precise story and considering I have not read any of the author’s books before I must say I enjoyed the storyline. Kira has a strong sense of self-will and even though she is auctioned into a family of dragon shifters, she wants to prove herself worthy of fighting their enemy, before bearing a royal baby. This in itself entails dangerous situations and conflicts of interest. The ménage aspect is tasteful written and the confrontations with the enemy well documented. Kira’s opportunity to exploit her own strengths brings its own rewards. If shape-shifters stories intrigue you, then this one is a must. I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
