Knotty Fairytales #4

Hunted & Knotted By The Minotaur King

Rate this book
I entered the labyrinth as this season’s tribute. I’m leaving as the Minotaur King’s mate…

Every rut, a virgin omega is offered to King Aster. They’ve always returned unclaimed… until me.

The moment I step into his maze, his scent hits me like a wildfire. My body betrays me; my first heat crashes through me, making me desperate for things I’ve never even thought about.

Our beastly alpha King hunts me through his maze, and when he catches me, he teaches me how to surrender in the most wicked ways. And soon I’m the one begging…

Read now for a fun, unapologetically OTT, filthy hot, completely unhinged retelling of the myth of the Minotaur.

If you’re not in the mood for an alpha beast who’s obsessed with hunting, knotting, and breeding his curvy omega (as much as she’s obsessed with milking him…), PLEASE PASS!

But if that’s your vibe? Welcome to a dripping wet, knotty, fast-burn read.

She entered the maze as tribute. She left as his queen.

Ariana is meant to survive the labyrinth, wait out the Minotaur King’s rut, and return home like every omega before her. But the moment Aster’s scent reaches her, her body answers with a heat she’s never known, turning fear into hunger and the maze into something far more dangerous than stone.

Aster has spent years taking tributes who never feel like his. None quiet the beast in him, and none carry the scent his blood has waited for. Then Ariana enters his maze, trembling and drawn toward him, and the hunt becomes more than tradition. It becomes recognition.

When he catches her, surrender isn’t simple. It’s raw, overwhelming, and built on trust. Ariana has to face what her body wants, what her instincts know, and what it means to be claimed by a king who sees her not as sacrifice, but as his mate.

Their bond is fast, primal, and possessive, but beneath the heat is a darker thread: two people recognizing home before they’re ready to name it. The maze starts as ritual control, then becomes where fear, desire, devotion, and power collide.

Ariana moves from tribute to awakened mate and queen, shaped by instinct, trust, and being wanted without being erased. Aster moves from rut-driven isolation to possessive devotion, as Ariana gives his beast a center and turns hunger into protection. Together, they become a bond of erotic trust, dominance, and shared belonging.

Raw, steamy, intense minotaur omegaverse erotica with a virgin tribute, labyrinth ritual, primal chase, heat and rut, knotting, breeding, praise, and feral devotion. It’s about surrendering to desire without losing agency, being chosen in a way that turns fear into belonging, and finding power, identity, and home inside a bond built on instinct, trust, possession, and mutual need.

The Elevator Pitch: When an inexperienced omega is sent into the Minotaur King’s labyrinth, the ritual meant to consume her awakens a bond neither of them can deny. What begins as a hunt becomes a collision of instinct, power, and dangerous devotion as the beast inside the king recognizes the queen he’s been waiting for. In the dark heart of the maze, surrender becomes transformation, and being claimed means stepping into a throne built from desire, trust, and fate.

Heat Level: 🖤🔥 Erotica / Kink-Forward

ARC Review
This short story contains a lot of my favourite monster romance tropes so I was excited to read it, I mean it's got a maiden sacrificed to the minotaur in his labyrinth, public stuff, milking and it's essentially all smut and almost no plot.

The writing unfortunately threw me off right away. She's supposed to be a sheltered, shy virgin and she's swearing like a sailor from the first page, the femininity and helplessness I expected was just eradicated. And then she hears him roaring in the distance of the maze and uh..she gets more leaky than any heroine I've ever read, she's supposedly actually squelching as she runs and leaving a stream on the ground behind her, it wasn't hot, it was somewhere between comedic and gross. Words like "weeping" and "sloshing" didn't help.

So our minotaur arrives and while he swears, he's not as bad as her. But he's supposed to be a king and he's not human and yet he uses childish slang almost constantly which completely compromised his character's integrity, intelligence and royalty. "I'm gonna breed you." "I wanna fill you up." I was expecting grand romantic sort of stuff mixed with primal.

The other issue, which isn't the author's fault, but rather a trap of short erotica, is that we don't really have any grasp of the characters' personalities which makes them both seem flat.

However, the second half of the story is Vastly superior, they begin to know each other and become more tender and loving, especially the girl, she quits cussing and becomes very gentle and begs for his attention, the way she should have been at the start. He becomes more romantic and chivalrous. The last half saved this from being 1 star.

Tons of smut, they do pretty much everything you can think of, some parts begin to feel a bit repetitive. I think the smut missed the mark for me just because of the dialogue not being my thing but I did enjoy her initial agony and later scenes. I wished that the public scene in the throne room was a bigger deal, it was very discreet and I was hoping for more of a humiliating ceremony. 😂

I loved the idea, I really enjoyed the second half and the characters finally settling into themselves, I think the beginning needed some editing to fit the quality of the end, it almost feels like different authors wrote it. It's a solid erotica read.

We're hitting up the labyrinth for this one. A virgin sacrifice to help the minotaur king through his rut and a king who's starting to feel like he may never meet his match. Aster's just sort of going through the motions when he catches Ariana's scent. Suddenly he's in full rut and his focus is 100% on the little omega trapped in his labyrinth.

Ariana isn't convinced she's anything special, but having the king hunt her through the labyrinth does things to her she wasn't expecting. Her heat hits and she's ALLLLL about that knot. Soon these two are generating heat of their own and they're both smitten in all the ways an omega and her alpha can be smitten.

honestly this wasn't great. there were a lot of grammatical and spelling issues and it's basically smut with no plot. the smut got really boring and repetitive and I got no sense of the characters at all. I honestly forgot he's supposed to be a minotaur at all and the heroine is just a needy, sex crazed hole for him with no feelings or personality aside from wanting to be fucked 24/7.

Some stories ease you in.
This one grabs you, drops you into the maze… and doesn’t let you catch your breath.

Hunted & Knotted By The Minotaur King by Sienna King is a bold, fast-paced, and unapologetically intense retelling that leans fully into its premise—and delivers exactly what it promises: heat, tension, and a primal, all-consuming connection.

From the moment she enters the labyrinth, everything changes.

What starts as a ritual sacrifice quickly turns into something far more personal, far more dangerous. The connection between the heroine and King Aster is immediate, instinctive, and impossible to ignore—driven by forces neither of them fully controls, but both quickly surrender to.

And Aster?

He’s exactly what you expect—and more.

Powerful. Dominant. Relentless in his pursuit. But beneath the intensity, there’s also a surprising thread of focus and intention in the way he claims what’s his. The dynamic between hunter and hunted fuels the story, creating a tension that carries through every page.

What stands out most is how quickly the story commits to its tone. There’s no long buildup or slow unraveling—this is a “drop you in the middle of it” kind of read, and it works. You immediately understand the stakes, the connection, and the characters’ roles within this world.

✨ What to expect:

Myth-inspired monster romance
Primal chase / hunter-and-prey dynamic
Fated, instinct-driven bond
Fast-burn intensity
High-heat, immersive atmosphere
Short, bingeable read

Despite its speed, there’s still a clear emotional undercurrent. The connection between the characters, while intense and immediate, carries a sense of inevitability that makes their bond feel more than just physical—it feels claimed, in every sense of the word.

This is not a slow, gentle romance—it’s bold, dramatic, and very much leaning into its darker, more primal energy. But for readers who enjoy that kind of storytelling, it delivers exactly what it promises.

If you’re in the mood for a quick, high-intensity, myth-inspired romance that skips the slow build and dives straight into the fire, Hunted & Knotted By The Minotaur King is a wild ride you won’t forget.

After reading Siena’s Knotted by the Beast, I went in to this one thinking I had a pretty solid idea of what awaited me. Turns out I was only half right. The monster smut? Oh, it absolutely delivers. In fact, it delivers so enthusiastically that plot barely gets a seat at the table. Normally, that’s not a dealbreaker for me, but with a fairytale retelling, I do like at least a skeleton of story beneath all the… extracurricular activity. We open with Ariana already trapped in the Minotaur’s labyrinth, and before you can blink, she’s less “damsel in distress” and more walking pheromone factory. Subtlety is not in the room. She’s practically leaving a breadcrumb trail of arousal behind her, making the Minotaur’s job laughably easy. Enter King Aster: eight feet of muscle, menace, and a tail that definitely isn’t just for balance. Oddly, beyond the basics, we don’t get much in the way of creature detail. What is made abundantly clear, however, is that he’s… generously proportioned. After years of Omega tributes, he’s finally found his mate, and from there the book shifts into a relentless cycle of claiming, filling, breeding—rinse and repeat for the next seventy pages or so. And here’s where it started to lose me. There’s only so many times you can read about knotting, bulging, and copious fluids before it stops being hot and starts feeling like overkill. By round five—or maybe sixteen—I was less “wow” and more “okay, I get it.” The sheer volume of, let’s say, their enthusiasm tipped things from decadent into excessive, and not always in a good way. I couldn’t help but wish for a bit more tension. Perhaps some fear, at least initially, or a proper sense of the chase to match the premise. The setup promises a hunt, but what we get is more like immediate surrender followed by an endurance test. That said, if you’re in the mood for unapologetically indulgent monster smut with zero restraint, this absolutely scratches that itch and then some. Just don’t expect much breathing room between… encounters.

This is my first book by Siena Stone and will not be my last. The forward of the book told the readers - this is going to be a lot of spice and that will be mostly it and if you don't like that don't read it! And I LOVED that! Because then if I wanted a long story with a long plot, this wasn't the book for me. Luckily, I was in the mood for a quick, spicy read and I got it.

Ariana is the main FMC who has been chosen to go into the maze for the Minotaur King. She is woman of color with plentiful curves.

Aster is the Minotaur King who goes into heat and requires a woman sacrifice to help him not lose his mind during the heat. When Ariana enters the maze, she immediately goes into a heat and Aster smells her heat. Once he does, he realizes she is his mate and then he then he tracks her down. From that point going forward, it is on! There are MANY spicy scenes and varied scenes too. There are great tropes: size difference, knotting, primal play, fated mates, going into heat. Finally, there is a good epilogue that wraps up their story well.

Stars: 5 Stars (I would usually give this to a longer more in depth book, but this was the perfect quick spicy read)
Steam: 5/5 - Almost all steam and good/varied steam
POV: First person POV, duel POV

Who wouldn’t want a man (or Minotaur) to look at us and think: “She smells like everything I’ve been waiting for. Like she was f***ing made for me.” Ariana (the FMC) is a woman of color. As a woman of color myself, I love to read about my fellow sistas getting the man/monster of her dreams in the end. And Ariana snags the Minotaur King who absolutely worships her! The author is extremely descriptive that it is very hard not to put yourself in Ariana’s shoes in this spicy novella. Phew! As stated in the dedication, this is a definite read, “for all of us who read ‘virgin sacrificed to a monster’ and thought: but what if he’s hot though?”

Overall Rating: 5/5
Spice: 5/5
Genre: dark romance
Tropes: monster romance, primal play, omegaverse, knotting, size difference, “good girl”, power play/imbalance, tail play, breeding, fated mates, installment, exhibitionism, Hucow

Please heed the description of the book because it reads just how Siena wrote it: nasty, freaky, erotic. Don't look for that "feel-good, cookie cutter" moment when 2 people fall in love over time- not going to happen. It's gushy but not sappy. What you WILL get is a quick, to the point read. I like that the Minotaur King was not an unjust ruler and his Mate was treated well.

I deducted a star because the 'Hunted' part of the title is non-existent in the traditional sense of hunting or stalking.

Now, if you don't like a lot of sex then you should probably read something else. Again, the forewarning clearly states what the story is about. Don't buy, read, then complain about the lack of romance or how quickly the couple had sex.

Overall, this is a cute book to read without any drama.

This was such an intense and addictive read right from the start. The whole labyrinth setup and being hunted added so much tension, and it immediately pulled me in.

What stood out most to me was how fast-paced and immersive the story felt. There’s no waiting around—you’re thrown straight into the dynamic, and it keeps that momentum the entire time. The connection between the characters is immediate and powerful, which really fits the tone of the story.

I also liked how unapologetic the book is in what it’s trying to be. It leans fully into the darker, more primal elements of the trope, and that’s what makes it work so well.

5⭐ — intense, fast-paced, and completely addictive.

Dark. Unfiltered. Addictive.

Ever thought "I love this premise but I wish they skipped the boring beginning?" Well this is your book. Its straight to the point and simple but that doesn't mean it's bad. You still get a good idea of who these characters are and their romance actually feels really sweet.

Not a lot of stories go through the whole heat. Most just skip ahead but this story gives you every little detail. I almost wanted more outside of it but I got what I signed up for and then some. Like Ariana.

There's something for everyone! Primal chasing, tender loving, even a bit of voyeurism.

This was a good quick, verrrry spicy read I finished it in under an hour and a half.

Don't read this at work though. You'll be squirming 🥵.

So I heard you liked greek mythology but make it 🔥
Well you are in the right place here! This story is quick to the point, if you like your monsters big and eager, this one is for you.

Each season an omega tribute is sent to partake in the maze hunt for King Aster who secretly hopes he will find his queen, his mate.
Now it’s Ariana’s turn and nor did she or he expect this time to be different, awakening their deepest instincts.

If you like very 🌶🔥 steamy scenes with just enough plot, I think this book is for you. There is size difference, devotion, lots of playful chasing and many more fun microtropes 😏. It was a fast entertaining read.

I finished this in about an hour, and from the first page to the last, it was pure smutty omegaverse chaos. But honestly, since the author clearly wasn’t trying to make it anything else, I thought it worked really well.

Sometimes spicy scenes can feel awkward or downright cringe, but I didn’t get that here at all. If you’re looking for something short, very smut-heavy, and built around an omegaverse backdrop, this one will probably be for you.

This is book 4 in the Knotty Fairytale Series. This was a short novella and it was pure smut from start to finish! So do not go into this book looking for a plot or a lot of character growth. The FMC Ariana is the most foul mouth sheltered virgin sacrifice ever lol. I get that her heat makes her react to Aster's scent in the most primal way but she went from 0 to 100. Once Aster caught her it was nothing but sex 24\7 and it got repetitive very fast. I almost forgot that Aster was a minotaur he seemed more human like, which is one of the reasons for just 3 stars.

This was another fun addition to the series and I have to say that the author brought all the heat, in this one. Like ALL of it ;P Ariana is an 'intact' sacrifice to the Minotaur king, Aster. He's all alpha and suffers his ruts with omega sacrifices hoping to find his queen. At the first scent of Ariana, he knows he's finally found her. After a chase, he lets loose on her and her omega heat hits her hard. Yeah, this is a plot-lite romance that's got a ton of spice as they work through her heat and he showers her in all levels of wealth before officially making her his queen in a rather explicit way... This is a page turner that's mostly spice but it's super fun ;D

This one is an Omegaverse twist with a King Minotaur lead and definite Beauty‑and‑the‑Beast undertones. It leans hard into the run‑hunt‑capture dynamic, the instant recognition of scent‑matched mates, and a nonstop, high‑heat pace from beginning to end. It’s a fast read designed to spike your pulse and break up your day, and it absolutely delivers an HEA.

That said, the chase and capture elements are dialed way up. It fits the feral, mythic tone of the story. If you love that relentless pursuit and capture energy, this book commits to it fully. If that's not your vibe? This may not be for you.

What do you get when the Alpha King Aster goes into rut and a virgin Omega Ariana enters his labyrinth?
Fated Mates and lots and lots of rutting, knotting, slick heat, breeding and begging for more.
So now the Beastly Minotaur King finally finds himself his Queen. Yay.
I really enjoyed this quick steamy read. Gotta love our Monsters. Yep
Siena thank you for this quick steamy slice of deliciousness.

I think that might be my fastest read to date and I didn't hate it. I quite opposite of hated it actually 😂😏 I read the blurb, I knew what to expect, and somehow I was still shocked and impressed at what was delivered. If it's 73 pages total then 72 of those pages are smutty and some of it is quiiiiite filthy. Love breeding, chasing, rutting, milking (both of them), claiming, and have an hour or so to kill? Well then, enjoy!

3.75 ⭐ ARC read

Simply all spice from start to finish, alpha and omega in rut and heat for 76 pages. The spice was good, but it did get a bit repetitive. There wasn't really any plot to the story, but that was how it was meant to be and I didn't feel like I was missing it. I enjoyed the inclusion of his tail while they were getting their freak on. And the scene where he claimed her as his queen in front of the room full of people was incredibly hot

I wish that there was more character development. I love a labyrinth retelling. Though we are given a sliver of information about our King we know next to nothing about our Omega. Because of the length of the story it would have benefited greatly if it traded a sex scene for a conversation between the two. I also would have enjoyed more world building.

Omg this was so spicy. The detail that was put into this was wonderful, especially the spicy scenes. I’m the type of girl that thinks the Beast is more attractive than when he turns into Prince Adam so I loved that this featured a beastly man. I enjoy when books have the dual POV. I loved this book and would definitely recommend it to anyone that loves a great beastly romance.

This book was truly captivating, drawing me in from the very first page. The author expertly weaves together mythology and romance, creating a world that is both familiar and refreshingly original. The characters are well-developed and their relationship is both believable and emotionally resonant. I found myself eagerly turning pages to discover what would happen next, and the ending left me wanting more.

🌶🌶

Honestly the most repetitive and boring book i've ever read... it's like the same thing happened in a different font for the entire book. There was potential for this to be decent, but instead of focusing on making the plot good as well the author decided to fill it with mediocre smut.

Big miss.

I would have liked this book more if there was an actual story to read…. Every page from almost start to finish was just non stop s*x. You didn’t get to read about them getting to know each other or how their lives were afterwards. It was just non stop and repetitive. Idk if I would recommend this book.
