A 500-year-old Incubus who has been waiting for her. That’s dedication. Now he doesn’t know it’s her he’s waiting for. He’s dreaming of her, she’s dreaming of him. They’re fated mates. Now, I may not know what an Incubus or an Omega is. But what I do know is Imani Jay’s latest Valentine’s novella has it all. Who knew an Incubus had such a dirty mouth? The spice scenes are hot. He does show himself in many ways—his demon physical self. And she’s accepting of him—tail and all. I liked it a lot!

Didn’t feel as short as it was!

This was a cute, quick little read that had just enough to feel like a full story, which is a feat in itself. To me, the pacing was perfect. Their meeting and time together were cute; nothing overly complicated was going on, which is what I was hoping for.

The only thing that irked me…well maybe two things, were that I wasn’t fully sure what Rahel looked like aside from being hulking, tatted with amber eyes. I think maybe his hair was dark, but that’s about the extent of it. Hell, I knew more about how Dom the vampire looked, and he only had like 8 pages of screen time.

The other irksome thing was that Destiny and Rahel sounded like the same person when it was smexy time (which was often). Des would go from saying freaking all the time to straight f-bombs every other word, which is how Shadow Daddy spoke all the time.

Other than that, though, this was a perfect first book for this Valentine’s Day season.

Rahel, an ancient incubus, and Destiny both have steamy dreams about each other, except neither one knows the other exists. Even though he is starving, he refuses to enter others' dreams to feed off their desires, and no one compares to his omega. One day, they realize they both exist, and an intense, overwhelming desire to be together is present.

The spice is super hot and descriptive, and their chemistry is high. Even though this is a novella, it still has a fun plot, and I felt the connection between the two.

This is a cute, steamy and quick novella that is just in time for Valentine's Day!!

This story delivers everything I want from a paranormal omegaverse romance—fated mates, irresistible tension, and a hero who is utterly undone by his omega. Destiny and Rahel’s connection is intense, emotional, and deliciously inevitable. The dream-connection trope is used beautifully, making their bond feel deep and destined long before they ever meet in the flesh.

Rahel is peak grumpy alpha energy—ancient, dangerous, and starving not just for sustenance, but for her. Watching him struggle with restraint while being completely devoted to Destiny was incredibly satisfying. Destiny, meanwhile, is warm, sensual, and relatable, a sunshine heroine who doesn’t shy away from claiming what fate has offered her.

The vibes are cozy-spicy with a dark paranormal edge: biker alpha, incubus lore, dreamy longing, and a Valentine’s-night collision that changes everything. The chemistry is off the charts, the mating pull is undeniable, and the romance is deeply comforting despite the heat.

If you love fated mates, alpha devotion, omega softness, and fantasy-meets-reality romance with a possessive hero who knows exactly what he wants—this one is absolutely worth the read. 💘🐍.

3.5 Stars for me

Let me start by saying: Imani Jay warned us. Right at the beginning, we’re told not to expect plot, realism, or anything deep — just pure fun and escapism. And honestly? He absolutely delivered.
This was 88 pages of lust, attraction, and very well-written spicy scenes, and I’m not even mad about the complete lack of plot. Does it matter? Not at all. The book knows exactly what it is and never pretends to be anything else. I went into this expecting a fun, half-hour read, and that’s exactly what I got.
The writing of the intimate scenes was genuinely good — smooth, confident, and engaging enough that you just keep turning pages without questioning anything. It’s one of those reads where you just turn your brain off and enjoy the ride.
Also, can we talk about Destiny for a second? The fact that she’s not even remotely fazed by the whole monster/demon situation? Chef’s kiss. Loved that energy. No unnecessary fear, no dragged-out internal monologues — just vibes and confidence.
Is it deep? No.
Is it realistic? Absolutely not.
Was it fun? Very much yes.
If you’re looking for a short, spicy, no-thoughts-just-enjoy kind of read, this does exactly what it says on the tin.

Hot

What a captivating and enjoyable exotic short story. The characters are compelling with a relationship that is entertaining and extremely passionate. I really enjoyed reading about fated mates and I can definitely say that this story is very interesting Destiny is a omega who owns a chocolate shop who is having dreams for months about a shadowed man, but her behavior is so uncommon to her but what she doesn't know is she is having her heat cycle. Rahel is a incubus alpha who has lived for five hundred years and he doesn't know the meaning of chocolate and brown sugar in his dreams, but he knows it's his mate and what she smells like and the taste of her along with how she feels but not who this omega is except that she's his mate that has been messing with his dreams for six months and that he needs to feed on her very soon,The suspense in this story is off the chart, and there's parts that you will may want a fan and glass of your favorite beverage because this story is sizzling hot with lots of emotions. I really enjoyed the secondary characters as they help to make this story to be fantastic.but there are quite a few things that makes this a interesting tale and it's absolutely joy to read for this fabulous valentine day.

Knotted by the Incubus is a fun, quick-burn read that knows exactly what it’s aiming to do — and does it well.

This is a short, light novella where the story frames the spice, and for readers looking for Omegaverse tropes blended with a shadow-daddy incubus, it delivers. The smut is well written and confident, with a strong nod to classic Omegaverse elements, including breeding kink, that will absolutely appeal to the target audience.

Despite the length, the book still creates a solid connection between the characters, and I appreciated seeing moments from both perspectives as the dynamic unfolded. It kept things engaging and grounded while maintaining a fast, easy pace.

Overall, this was an enjoyable, well-executed read. While it didn’t quite hit “unforgettable” for me, it was sexy, trope-forward, and a lot of fun — an easy 4-star recommendation for fans of Omegaverse and paranormal romance.

This was a shorter read but nothing was missing! It was spicy, witty, very touch her & 💀! These two meet in their dreams night after night until one day he smells her scent & it's all over after that! Destiny can't believe it when her shadow daddy comes blowing down her door! Rahel knows the minute her gets a taste of her scent he found his mate & he won't let anything stop him. Rahel & Destiny get the answers they've been searching for in their dreams. Rahel is true to his mate even before they meet in person by putting his incubus needs second. But once these two finish what they started in their dreams; he'll never be short of desire to feed one! Great quick Valentines book, that had me kicking my feet at times!

I really enjoyed this fast paced read by Imani Jay. She continues to knock her short stories out of the park. This time we meet an Omega by the name of Destiny who owns a chocolate Shop with her friend Keke. It’s Valentine’s Day and they have orders to get ready, because you know… chocolate.. valentines… get it? Well the two are discussing relationships and how it is not finding a relationship that is worth their time. But Destiny has been having very arousing, and heated dreams about a mysterious man and tells her friend about him, she’s been dreaming of him for some time now., if only he was real! Somewhere someone else is dreaming of Destiny. His name is Rahel a five hundred year old Incubus.

So check this fast, funny enjoyable story out to see what happens next. Did I mention that it is a super HOT read?😀

This was short, super steamy and everything you would want from a “knotty” romance. Rahel being a winged, shadow daddy Incubus just made it that much hotter! There may have only been 1 of him, but his shadows made it seem like so many more. Wasn’t much of a plot, just dream world meetings which I thought was an adorable idea turned super steamy and then them meeting. Loved that he held off for her and was immediately OTT possessive and burn the world for her kind of feel. Destiny was sweet, sassy and just wanted to be loved and feel safe, which is exactly what he did for her. A few spelling errors, but nothing that took me out of the story too much. No cheating or OM/OW drama, fated mates, dual POV, HEA and an epilogue with the start of Keke’s story. Cannot wait to see her and Dom figure each other out!

Received an ARC for an honest.

Short and to the point.

I enjoyed the Valentines vibes, very steamy, very spicy.

Rahel, a 500 year old Incubus (hint, hint to the level of spice 😉) is overcome with the need for his dream woman, the woman that puts all other to shame, Destiny.

Destiny, seems to have been living a very dainty life, has a niche bakery in the town of Carmel. Things were normal for Destiny except for the dreams. These dreams have plagued here for momths om end and leaves her drained all day until she returns to her bed where she's feeling the most alive.

These two go at it like rabbits, or maybe like an Incubus would. 🤔

I enjoyed this short, and spicy read but would have enjoyed to get a little more indepth background or cutesy scenes between Rahel and Destiny.

This was such a fun and fast read. With high heat, low plot, it was a fun way to spend part of a lazy Sunday afternoon.

Destiny has been having these reoccurring, extremely spicy, dreams for a while, in which a faceless, shadowy man gives her intense pleasure. She always wakes up alone, but thankfully she has her bestie, Keisha, to confide in.

Then, on Valentine's day, while working in her chocolate shop after hours, the incubus, Rahel shows up, and Destiny's life (and the shop's door) will never be the same again!

If you enjoy Omegaverse monster romances, and want something quick and easy to read this Valentine's day, I can definitely recommend this one. It was a lot of fun ☺️

Imani Jay has the ability to weave a delicious story in a quick and dirty read, and she does not disappoint with Knotted by the Incubus! I love how Rahel came out of nowhere with his complete devotion, and the element of fated mates that appeared throughout each of their dreams.

Yes, absolutely this is smut, but there is plot and it's kind of good. I particularly enjoyed the closing of the loop with the dream-scape and magic through.

Reading this hot and dirty story makes you want to disregard the author's note about this being a fictional story and hope for the say of euphoric sleep to get put into the mattress the way Imani Jay wrote these two!.

Biker and fates mates? Yes, please. I love a man that takes control in the bedroom. Rahel just solidified that kink for me. Overall a really enjoyable read, I wish it was a tad longer so we could’ve seen the relationship between the two leads grow more. I’m definitely curious about some of the other characters that were featured. That epilogue was crazy and I definitely wanna see the dynamic of those 2 characters explored in the next book. One thing that kind of threw me off was how quickly it shifted from the characters POVs. I wish we would’ve spent more time instead of switching back and forth so frequently.

For months, they’ve been haunting each other’s dreams—intimate, intense, and unforgettable—yet neither knows the other actually exists. Unable to move on or touch anyone else, they’re trapped in longing for a dream lover they can’t forget. Then, on Valentine’s Eve, fate snaps tight. He catches her scent in the real world, follows it straight to her shop, and everything they’ve been denying collides. By the end of the night, she’s claimed, knotted, and marked as his—and what follows is a fast-burn descent into primal bonding, obsession, and relentless heat. Expect instant claiming, fated mates, and smut stacked on smut.

This book was a very quick read and unapologetically spicy. Out of the entire story, maybe twenty pages don't include spice-which honestly tracks for a fated-mate romance involving an incubus. If you're coming in for plot, there really isn't much to speak of, but with the book clocking in at only 87 pages, that wasn't a surprise. This is very much a "vibes and spice" novella rather than a fully developed story. If you're looking for something fast, steamy, and low-commitment, it delivers exactly what it promises. Just don't expect deep world-building or complex character arcs-this one knows what it is and leans all the way into it.

Imani Jay is one of my hit or miss authors but she writes so much of all the thing I love that I’m always willing to take the gamble. This was a quick and easy read. I’d call it low-medium spice mostly because it’s pretty vanilla even with the monster smex. I haven’t read many non-human OV books but not I’m intrigued. Overall this was a decent read, a little repetitive at times and a little bit of a plot hole with the whole is she/he real and the soulmate angle. But for a OV erotic short it’ll do.

If you’re looking for some quick spicy Valentine’s stories this February, I recommend you add this one to your list. It’s not got a ton of plot (which the author fully admits), but that doesn’t mean there’s no romance. This incubus has been waiting millennia for his scent match and once he finds her, there’s no way he’s letting her slip away. It’s a good thing she has no intention of going anywhere. While there isn’t a lot of depth because of the shortness, there is still a really cute love story here that spans the test of time. Would be an excellent spicy cleanse!

This was such a fun and spicy series opener! I really enjoyed how incubus Rahel and human gal Destiny were dreaming of each other, both thinking the other wasn't real. Ha! Rahel was willing to die to avoid anyone but his dream Destiny....and then he found out she was real. Look out ;P These two were fire together and I have to say the spice was super nova hot! You've been warned. Lol! I loved the connection between them and if this is any indication of the rest of the series, I'm all in ;D

This book is a fun, steamy paranormal romance about fate and finding your perfect mate. Destiny thinks her intense dream lover isn’t real—until she meets Rahel, an ancient incubus who has been dreaming of her too. When they finally find each other, the connection is instant, powerful, and impossible to escape.

It’s an easy, fast read filled with alpha energy, fated mates, and lots of heat, but it also has sweetness and heart. If you enjoy omegaverse stories with possessive heroes, destiny-driven love, and spicy romance, this one is a great pick.

"I’d do it again, mate. Wait another five hundred years. As long as it ended with you.”

She is his Destiny and he is the man of her dreams.
Rahel waited hundreds of years for his mate and once he has her wrapped up in his shadows he will never let her go.

If you are looking for a scorching hot quick burn romance with explosive chemistry and instalove on both sides, this is the one!
If I could convince you to read this book which I highly recommend in three words they would be Alpha, Obsessed and Sizzling🥵🔥.

If you need a short, spicy, no drama, but all smutty read then look no further! This is a perfect quick Valentine’s read that will put you in the mood. I throughly loved Destiny- curvy, cute, smells like brown sugar, and makes chocolate! Rahel had found his mate and they dove right in… perfect grumpy/ sunshine, omegaverse. After reading, I think Incubus should be in more books…Dark, shadowy, tall, tatted, powerful, and has horns! This book does what it’s written to do- Can’t wait to read the next one.

Literally he is the man of her dreams.

Absolutely hilarious! This is the best monster smut I’ve read in a long, long time! She has dreamed of him forever it seems. Keke her BFF calls him Shadow Daddy. The dreams are hot and steamy. She is trying to keep her business going. Working late one Valentine night Destiny feels like something is coming? But what she doesn’t know. Her Bakery door blows up and in walks...You’re going to have to read it to find out what walks through that door. This book was a joy to read!

This was a very engaging short insta-love story that's about Rahel our Incubus who's been starving himself because only his omega of his dreams would fulfill him and Destiny his dream woman, omega that he just discovered is real. What occurs is a steamy, engrossing, dramatic, engaging story that captivated me. Loved our characters and their chemistry sizzled. The storyline was well written and it's a wonderful paranormal Valentines Day story to read. I'd volunteer to read and review this story I'd received.

Sometimes I just need to read a short novella where a 6’6 grumpy incubus alpha biker is absolutely head over heels for his sassy curvy omega. A novella where the plot IS their lust and instant devotion that goes both ways because MATES ARE REAL, OKAY, and have I mentioned that our pleasure demon MMC is a shadow daddy, too? And he was starving waiting for her, because it was her, or no one?

This was just perfect, a short, steamy and cute omegaverse read, I loved it.
