La Prescelta dell'Alieno: Romanzo di Dating Agency Alien Sci-Fi (Connessioni Cosmiche: Storie d'Amore dell'Agenzia di Incontri Aliena Vol. 2)

Rate this book

Look. I'm not ashamed to admit I have a big ole soft spot for emotionally constipated alien men who are very good at their jobs and kinda iffy at being vulnerable. Torek ticked all those boxes. The guy is dealing with some hardcore emotional damage from his childhood and he's not the most cuddly male Zara's ever met. In fact, he's kind of uptight.

That's okay, though. Zara has done her research and she's ready and willing to show him she's in it for the long haul. She's determined, dedicated, and she doesn't walk away once she's given her word. Proving to Torek she's not going to walk away like he expects is a commitment she's 100% willing to dedicate herself to. Because she knows what it feels like to have people walk away from her and she likes the big guy way to much to put him in that position.

There's the crux of it really. She likes Torek. A lot. They might have thirty days to decide if they're a good fit and Zara might be trying to convince herself not to fall just in case Torek can't commit, but she's already emotionally invested. She likes him and she wants him to like her back. Fortunately, Torek's unruly tail is giving her enough hope of that front to keep her focused. Yup, the big guy's tail knows what it wants and it shows it. Often.

Tails, man. You gotta love 'em!

Overall, it was a decent book. I am going to give the author another try, and I'm sure as she writes, her talent will grow.

The good:
-I liked the storyline and idea.
-Zara and Torek have a history of some sort of relationship trauma they have to overcome, which they are able to overcome together. That made their relationship more real to me.

The bad:
-It felt rushed.
-It almost seemed like the author forgot which POV and personality belonged to the character by midway.
-I also struggled with how fast the "connection" was. Zara is very analytical, so it was difficult to believe she fell in love so fast, and first. That being said, Torek is very emotional, so I was able to see his POV and believe his feelings. The downside is, I felt like the author wanted him to be analytical as well, but his character went in the opposite direction.
-They didn't really have chemistry. I think because the story was so rushed, the opportunity to add that depth was lost. I see the potential there and that if the author had just added a little more details or back story, it would be more obvious.

I love Zara’s character ..she’s like a lawyer goddess 😎

The way the author wrote Zara is pure genius—she steals every scene with her tablet, meticulous notes, and obsessive organising, tackling everything like she’s arguing a court case. Both Zara and Torek carry emotional trauma, but it’s how Zara handles hers that truly captivates the reader and defines her personality. From the start, she feels a connection to Torek and has 30 days to prove just how invested she is in him. Torek isn’t fully invested in the match because of a traumatic past he blames for his father’s death, and while he may be emotionally stunted, his tail is basically a lie detector, betraying his feelings long before he’s ready to admit them. Awesome short read filled with lawyer sass, some tail play and bonding chemistry..definitely recommend this book

Slightly higher than 4 rating. This was cute and funny. I enjoyed the strong-willed lawyer FMC, Zara. And alien MMC, Torek, had a sensitive side. I liked how Zara's lawyer speech rubbed off on Torek. The tail behaving like it had its own personality was a good touch.

I would have been equally satisfied if the story had ended earlier when the couple formed their intimate bond. I did wish there was a little more kinky tail play...heh. I could tell Torek was really fascinated by Zara, but I wanted clearer reasons why Zara fell for Torek. But their individual backstories were sufficient for me even with the short length of the book. The book wasn't perfect, but I was left in a good mood in the end.

I will add book 2 to my reading list.

Interesting story. I liked the banter and the thing with the tail was pretty funny. I did wonder about Zara, though- was she leaving her job as a lawyer? Nothing was mentioned about finding work on the alien planet to be a lawyer there. It seemed strange that she was up and leaving her career and everything.

Also, it didn't sound like Earth was that hard to get to. Couldn't she visit her family every so often? And couldn't he come with her?

I loved reading about two people trying to make the arrangement work.

Though the blurb is written in first person pov, the book is in third person limited. But I noticed some head hopping at times.

Overall, I enjoyed the story and am interested in reading the next book.

It was a cute, quick read. Not especially deep but I don't think it was meant to be. This made for a good between books palette cleanser. I do have an inkling that AI was involved in the writing of it but I don't have any evidence to support that. There were no prompts accidentally left in or anything like that. I hope my suspicion is incorrect. If it's correct, that makes me kind of sad.

I do not know if it's AI or so.

The plot was ok. Have a lot of potential but need major editing.
The writing style changes a lot during the book so that make me think or is a compilation of different files or AI.

Also, what happened to the cat?????

loved the premise, the characters, and the witty inner dialog, and the emotional development of the characters. the pacing and sparse world building is what made it a 3 star for me. i still really enjoyed reading it, I just had to suspend disbelief a lot and not think about things too much.

This was cute, but I have to ask: why would Zara not just sign up for a matchmaking service on Earth? I could fall into the rabbit hole of Watsonian vs. Doylist reasons, but in the end, nothing grabbed me enough to keep reading past page 40.
