Finding love while on guard
Lennox is on a comeback tour after taking time to recover from his alcoholism. He has a stalker who once met him when he was in a boy band, she breaks into his room to leave him some gifts.
He gets a bodyguard through his record label, and Tom takes on his protection himself. They’re attracted to each other and talk about their experiences and struggles.
They spend a night together but realize Tom needs to focus on catching the stalker first. Soon after, a man comes to Lennox’s dressing room after a show and misleads him, leading to being kidnapped and held at gunpoint by Natasha.
Tom figures out it’s her ex husband who helped with the kidnapping and that Lennox is at a cottage she inherited. He and his teammate Levi arrive just after Lennox is shot and Natasha is arrested.
Tom stays with Lennox as he heals and they move in together and make a life, free of secrets and of fear.
I liked these two guys, Lennox is interesting as a singer, and Tom as a man who needs more in his life.

A quick read. Recovering alcoholic former boy band member Lennox returns to the stage after 15 years away and his stalker is all ready for his return. Enter former career military and now protection service owner Tom who, upon feeling an instant connection, decides to handle this one personally. As is usual in this trope they get involved, the bodyguard feels guilty, says the wrong thing…
This is a short book so things move quickly. Both characters are likeable and you want to root for their happiness. You can see the crisis point coming a mile away but it’s still a tense and fraught section of the book. The British paparazzi certainly don’t come off well here. The US has them also of course but there seems to be a particular viciousness from those in Britain.
The ending is sweet and it makes for a relatively low angst read other than the crisis moment. The shorter format doesn’t allow for a significant amount of depth but it works OK for this particular story.

SUPER FAN BLUES
SERENADE Book 2. Coming back on stage after a long time away was a big move for Lennox. Boy Band Fandom was an intense and secretive life. He wants to make a difference on his own, making the decisions and living his truth. Hiring Tom for Personal Security was a step he didn't want to take. One determined delusional fan from the past made it a priority. DREW DUNCAN has written a FANTASTIC Book about new love and past problems. This had me biting my nails. I really enjoyed this. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS BOOK AND THIS SERENADE COLLECTION!!!!!

This was really cute. Tom owns a private security company so when he gets a call from a former client he didn’t hesitate to take the job, last thing he was expecting was falling hard for Lennox Love. 🖤🔥🎤🔥🖤

A quick read. Interesting idea, a bit flat in execution.

This was a great story, but I felt like the pacing really sped up near the end of the book. It seemed like the chapters could've been longer, and I felt like I missed some stuff by the time it was over.
