A doctor who may be hiding more than he cares to let on.

The hospital appears to be in a state of chaos.
With patients being treated in horrible conditions.

How is the hospital still in operation?

Soon it becomes clear that the town, from the mayor to the nurses, is flush with corruption.

The timing of this book is unreal. You would think reading about 62 million views of a website where men share how to sedate and rape women would be the fictional book and not real life. The only difference is in the fictional book everyone involved is identified and prosecuted or killed.

This book tore me up, made me sick to my stomach and had me crying. 😭 There’s nothing I wouldn’t do for my daughter!

All men until this shit stops!

What a well-put-together book. This was crafted with a strong, intricate storyline that drew me in (as I'm sure it will others), keeping one informed with enough information to keep you involved in trying to figure out all the connections. The characters are solid, and they interact well as both FBI partners and life partners.
I do plan on reading the rest of this series.

Had me guessing at every turn.Olivia Knight & Brock Tanner, partners on the job with 5he FBI but, also partners in everyday was. They live upstairs from the diner they love and are looking for a house to live in. They are called into a case where a patient , Violet in a Psychiatric hospital has disappeared, her mother, Linda, has disappeared, her girlfriend , June, has disappeared. After a few days in W. VA. They realize something is wrong with the hospital. Speaking with both the head doctor and head nurse many discrepancies unfold. They all drive upscale cars, BMW’s, Audi’s, Teslas but the hospital is filthy and the patients move around like zombie so filled with drugs. Morgan, the missing girl’s roommate ,is comatose and Olivia has her sent to the nearest hospital. The doctor calls Olivia and said the drugs in Morgan’s system were normally used in operating rooms not psychiatric hospitals.
And so begins the tale, twists and turns, some surprises and some not so.
Terrific ending. Good read!

Entertaining

I read all of Elle Gray's series and truly enjoy them. She'll probably never win a Pulitzer but her writing does what it should, entertains, and that's what's important. I'll point out one faux pas in the book. The maximum sentence for voluntary manslaughter in West Virginia is 15 years with a minimum of 3 years served before being eligible for parole. 15 years is also the maximum under federal guidelines. In the book Linda Sawyer was sentenced to 20 years to life for that crime. A simple Google search would have avoided that error.

Excellent topic

I think it is great that the book shined a light onto mental health and she also tied it to the right to control what's done to your body even as a mental health patient.

She also shed light on how power, depravity, lack of respect for women and greed can corrupt a system designed to help the weakest among us.

The men all said they were helping the women and therefore justified their actions.

An intense read with some great twists.

I could not put this book down. I read until I fell asleep with it open. I awakened, poured myself a huge cup of coffee, and didn't put it down until I finished it.

Brock and Olivia are always going above and beyond, but this non-stop triple blockbuster is better than all before it.

The Missing Patient

This is one of the most exciting books I've read in a while.. From the beginning you are, super involved in what's going on with characters. The story is so sad and shocking, that you will be hoping that Brock and Olivia solve it quickly.

Best read ever

This book had everything! There was suspense, murder and mayhem. I loved it. It kept my attention throughout. How very sad that things like this are, and have probably continued to happen. It was very well written.

I could not put this book down!
This was my first book by this author and it did not disappoint! I absolutely love the characters. I relate to Brock so much (his sense of humor and whit). Towards the end though, I did predict who the killer was but the story itself was a great buildup.

Another Great Olivia & Brock Case

This book continued the Agent's lives and work. What a disturbing and complicated story. So well-written and I stayed up for hours reading it. I look forward to their next case and their continued life & love!

The overall story was good but I felt like I was just reading a report. There was the mystery portion of the book but no suspense to keep interest up & keep reading. I usually like her books but not so much this one.

Great story but…

I didn’t fall in love with Olivia and Brock. Could it have been their names? (yes, I can be shallow).

The book was good, entertaining & full of surprises, but I just felt nothing for the main characters.
