As a prosecutor in Dallas, she deals in evidence, logic, and truth. Not magic. Not myths.
Not dragons.
But when her best friend dies in her arms and a symbol from her sister’s unsolved death reappears, everything she thought she knew begins to unravel.
The pendant her sister left behind is no longer just a memory.
It is waking up.
Something ancient is moving beneath the city. A pattern of ritual killings is forming. And every answer Allie uncovers pulls her closer to a truth she does not want to face.
She is not just caught in the middle of it.
She is the key to it.
Now, with time running out and forces she does not understand closing in, Allie must decide whether to keep running from the past…
or become something she never believed was real.
Fire & Light is Book 1 of the Dragonfire Saga. Perfect for fans of urban fantasy, mystery, and slow-burn supernatural awakenings.
Lovelight writes immersive urban fantasy rooted in ancient myth and modern consequence. Her debut novel, Fire and Light, introduces a world where dragons walk in human skin, old curses still demand payment, and magic reveals as much about grief as it does about power.
Drawn to stories that examine inheritance, identity, and the cost of survival, Lovelight’s work blends mythic tragedy with contemporary settings, layered mystery, and emotionally complex characters. Her narratives often center on women navigating forces far older than themselves—discovering that becoming powerful is rarely the same as becoming free.
Based in Texas, Lovelight balances writing with real-world work, finding inspiration in music, folklore, and the quiet moments where stories surface uninvited. When she is not writing, she can usually be found collecting notebooks, listening for storms, and planning the next chapter long before it is ready to be written.
This is such a great fantasy book. Dragons are alive, they can just shapeshift due to a curse laid upon them. And the person who laid the curse, wants them all dead and gone.
Our main female character finds out the truth about herself - and then it is a battle between those that want dragons dead and trying to save and stopping them. A great story that kept me engaged, and good character development! I cannot recommend it more.
Dragons and witches. As a first novel I thought it was good. I think there was some confusion on the bond for me. Fated mates usually have at least an attraction to each other. I didn't like that Allie was bonded without her consent or a kiss or anything. I'm looking forward to reading the next story just to see if this gets cleared up
There’s definitely a story there. I feel as though the plot was rushed, and I sometimes had a hard time understanding what was going on and why. The premise, however, is very interesting. The story telling has jagged edges, but I’m invested in seeing how it gets refined in the next book. As a debut, this is pretty solid.
