I was so pumped for the first book and it delivered. Unfortunately this second one just didn’t hit the same way.

I felt as though the story twisted in a weird new direction which felt out of place from the first. And I felt as though we didn’t get much context or information for the secret 🤫

And this one lost some of the taboo magic the first had. I still love the MC and Kush though.

hehe. everyone’s names are actually making me lol. “keif” “mary jane” “haze”. like i’m actually liking the story even though there’s a lot of straight sex… hmm 🤨 FINALLY MARY JANE IS DEAD!! f that b fr! man, she was soooo annoying. and for indi to be the one to kill her, let’s goooo!! lol and then she goes “well i’m not a killer” yeah ok girl. also hello random older brother that wasn’t mentioned at all in the previous book.

Ahhh I love Haze & Indi and Baked is one of my favourite taboo erotic horrors. For me, Burnt didn't have the same magic. I felt that the taboo aspect was abit lost & I didn't feel like there was much happening plotwise... other than laying backstory & introducing cross over characters.
I still enjoyed catching up with the characters again.

Apparently I hate myself bc I read this book even though the first one was a piece of shit. I thought maybe it would get better but NOPE. I don't know why this was 140 pages, it could've been 30 tbh.


I thought haze was the most annoying but I was wrong, don't get me wrong he still sucks but INDI? SHES SO EXHUASTING in this and Mary jane was...there. The author couldn't even keep up with the relationship between any of them. One moment, Mary j and Indi HATE each other and never really liked each other, yet they literally live together then the next its 'WE WERE FRIENDS HOW DARE YOU.' Indi was SO jealous of Mary jane and so bitter when she got the same EXACT treatment as her and Mary j was so jealous of Indi. Two girls fighting over a dude that literally uses them as a pump and dump.


I mean seriously Indi goes on and on about how she is special but multiple times throughout the book she complains about how about how haze only comes around to fuck her which is true, they don't do anything without fucking. After he breaks her back? HE DIPS.


She gets upset and demands that she wants to be taken OUT and want to act like a normal couple and he does but... YUP you guessed it, he only takes her out because he needed her to join some corny ass group. AND YES they were sexual. I mean like I said before don't try and make this something it's not. It's not romance, hell its not even interesting. It's just fucking. they're just best friends who fuck each other. Indi is such a dumb ass bc every time he leaves her, he just needs to drop his pants and magically everything is okay.

NO SHADE BUT WILLOW MCQUERRY WOULD NEVER. WHICH IS INSANE BC WILLOW'S CHARACTER POPS UP IN THIS AND IT HURT MY SOUL AS THEY SHOULDNT BE INVOLVED IN THIS DUMPSTER FIRE. maybe I'm being too harsh but oh well. I'm just being honest and that's all I can be.



This series IS NOT for me but good for you if you like it but I prefer that my FMCs aren't pump and dumps.

After Haze left, Indi had to move in with her sister and their relationship is tenuous at the least. Haze is keeping an eye on Indi and does try to visit her occasionally, trouble is she wants more and that could lead to danger, as she relies on w33d and alcohol in a vain attempt to thwart away the loneliness. Of course, Haze ensures that she is safe until something happens that could bring her, Haze and Felix to a turning point in their lives.

im finally get around to reading Bunrt because the slump has been real!! i absolutely loved baked and was happy we were getting more of Indi & Haze. so i definitely enjoyed this one!

Burnt was so good. it’s just something about taboo books that i just eat up everytime. Haze is 😍

This has been slow and painful to try to finish this book. I absolutely devoured the first book, but I cannot get past 55% of this book. For whatever reason this book just cannot keep my interest. It’s still a good book and a great plot. I just can’t get past my ADHD in this book I guess. I really don’t know what it is about this book. I just can’t get into it.

I want to preface this with a warning, please don’t go into this story expecting a heavy, intricate plot. Let’s be real, this is primarily a super dark, horror-filled, taboo erotica featuring twins in a romantic relationship, with just a small amount of plot woven in to keep things moving. It’s there… but it’s not the focus. And I loved it.

We continue with the food-related scenes that make things wild, chaotic, and oddly entertaining. This time though, we also get elements of secret societies and rival organizations, which adds a bit more intrigue to the mix and expands the world slightly beyond just the shock factor.

There are also multiple cameos from Aiden, if you’ve read Willow McQuerry’s "Little Sisters" series, you’ll recognize him. And if you haven’t and are curious… well, his story comes next chronologically, so you can absolutely continue down that rabbit hole.

And if you’re like me and enjoyed the Osvaldo twins, there’s a good chance we might see more of them. Based on that ending, I wouldn’t be surprised if a third book happens, though I couldn’t find anything officially confirmed yet. That said, they will be reappearing in "Feast" (Dark Star Series, Book 4) coming Fall 2026 as part of a shared author series, whether that’s a continuation or more of a side story remains to be seen.

I’m sure it will come as no surprise to anyone that I absolutely loved this book, it was 100% worth the wait.

I loved Indi and Haze in Baked, but I love them even more in Burnt, especially now that Felix is around! Haze would literally do anything for his sister…is it wrong that I’m jealous of the apartment, the random appearances when Indi needs protecting (or even when she doesn’t), actually…I think I just need my own Haze 😂

What a little bitch Mary-Jane is, I’m so glad she got what was coming to her. But that ending?? Can I have the next book now please??

This book, get ready for all the smut you can read! So this one is based up what happened in the last book. Realistically I feel bad for Indi, because she got the short stick of everything for the first couple of chapters in this book. And most of the POV is from her point of view. You do get Haze once in awhile but not as much as before. But I liked it because you actually get to see her thought process and everything that she's thinking of and everything that she wants to do. Realistically I'm so happy with what happened to Mary Jane in this book. Because she deserved it and I'm so glad she got it. Like what happens at the end for her. Perfect. Everything that was deserved, because she's just plain rude and mean to Indi and Kush. You don't be mean to Kush!!!! But this book shows you Felix who you don't get to know until later in the book. But I was surprised when I read about him. And realistically at the end of this book I really need to know what happens. Because what do you mean, what do you mean that happens, what do you mean all this. I'm not going to say what it is because it is a short read so I rather you guys have the suspense of everything that happens. But get ready for all of it.

this was absolutely amazing! I binged it in 4 hours. I could r stop reading and I couldn’t get enough. these two packed a big punch and I couldn’t get enough of them. I absolutely loved the laugh little sister mention. I loved seeing aiden in this book. I actually am officially obsessed with this world and I cannot wait to see what this author has up her sleeve next. I’m super excited for more in this world and I’m on my knees waiting like a good girl for ab cynthe’s next book. I will wait years if that’s what it really took. I loved this and I can’t wait for more.

The Osvaldo twins are back spicing it up and making taboo look tempting and man does it freaking work! Burnt is all frenetic energy, hands that are absolutely not kept to themselves, an intro to more Osvaldo family, the discovery of a covert dark web operation, with the messiest Thanksgiving feast ever, sooo much weed, a little touch her and die, and an ending that leaves you with a severe case of the munchies that can only be satisfied by whatever Ab. Cynthe is cooking up next and I devoured it.
Haze and Indi are a blast and I love that Ab. Cynthe has made you completely understand that taboo or not these two work. In Baked it was obvious Haze would kill for her but Burnt makes it clear that not only will he kill for as often as necessary but he’s so into her that he will also be her swoony boyfriend, her forever protector, and her best friend. There’s a sweetness to it, the energy and the rush every time these two are together is bomb, it’s got baking lessons and roommate drama, adding in Felix is intriguing and creates a whole new Osvaldo family dynamic, and I cannot wait for more of it all.

I thought I was ready- I was not. Haze and Indi are back for more highs, more spice, and more inappropriate consumption of food.
As usual, AB Cynthe packs a big punch in a short book. Plot twists, new players, revenge, an underground secret society… I was on the edge of my seat! I so wish I had recorded my reactions to the special Thanksgiving dinner, because I know I was making some stellar faces in shock. Perhaps the cooking should be left to Haze from now on (IYKYK).
Personally, I will not be partaking in Indi’s version of special brownies- thank you.

Burnt jumps right back in where Baked left off, and I really liked how seamless it felt. The consequences start hitting hard, and honestly, some characters had it coming. Given the situations and choices that led up to those moments, everything felt handled the way it should have been, which made it satisfying rather than frustrating.
What I enjoyed most was how much the world opens up in this book. It doesn’t just continue the story—it expands it. Felix, the twins’ brother, gets brought up a lot more, and getting a look into his world added a whole new layer to the story that I wasn’t expecting but really appreciated.
Even though these stories are short, they’re packed with so much. There’s emotion, tension, and depth in every chapter, and nothing feels rushed or unnecessary. A.B. Cynthe does an amazing job of telling a lot of story in a small space, and Burnt definitely left an impression on me. I’m excited to see where things go next.

Ok let me say this, I love me some Haze! Idc idc lmao something might be wrong with me fr. And ooooo Felix is another one 💕🥰. Now this took me longer to read when it shouldn’t have. Reason why is because I get irritated quick. Now I was constantly waiting for them to get rid of Mary-Jane because I couldn’t stand her which is why I was sooooo pissed with Indi in the first book. Now Indi annoyed me even more in this book especially because she blamed everyone except herself. Like yes we know Haze killed Carter but come on Indi, you seriously picked saving Mary-Jane over your brother and got yourself in the situation. Indi was so immature in a lot of things so that made me slowly read the book. Don’t get me wrong it’s a good book just I was over the females. And ummmm I need more of Felix and Aiden because 🥰💕💕💕 why not. I recommend this book if you want a quick read.

f you thought Baked had you in a chokehold, Burnt comes in and does it tighter. this series just keeps delivering and I am not okay about it.

the Special Brownies world is truly one of a kind. the atmosphere, the chaos, the morally unhinged characters that you have absolutely no business rooting for and yet. AND YET. here we are, fully invested, zero regrets.

Ab. Cynthe has such a specific writing style that just pulls you in and doesn’t let go. short, sharp, and packed with so much tension you’ll be burning through pages without even realizing it. the title is fitting because this book genuinely left me scorched.

please check your trigger warnings before going in, this series is not for the faint of heart. but if dark romance with horror elements and characters who are deeply unwell (affectionately) is your thing you already know what to do.

Baked to Burnt, the pipeline is real and I have no desire to recover. onto Sour I go. 💨🍃🔥

This series is definitely not going to be for everyone because it is dark and very, very taboo but personally? I’m here for it.

I think what I’m enjoying most is that these aren’t just taboo for the sake of being taboo. There’s actually a story underneath all of the spice and forbidden chaos, which makes them so much more fun to read.

And speaking of the spice. There is plenty.

These books are also so quick and easy to fly through. I’ve officially read the first two in the same day and I’m already moving on to book three, so clearly AB Cynthe has me hooked.

I don’t want to say much about the actual story because going into these without knowing exactly what kind of taboo you’re getting is part of the fun.

Novella that picks up right where the first one ended, there was a lot of things I didn't like about the first book, but somehow I wanted to read this one, basically just to see a little bit of Aiden, who is a side character, and is getting his own book soon, in another series by another author.

But this one surprised me, I did enjoyed it, it was a wild, crazy book, and the connection that Indi and Haze have is obviously forbidden and taboo, but I like how things went in this book, and I like the introduction to the other brother, I hope he gets a book of his own, he is definitely an interesting character.

A lot of spice, pot, and a little bit of an interesting secret society plot. It was fun, and if a new book comes, I will read it.

I've been needing more of Indi & Haze, and AB Cynthe absolutely delivers. Burnt is a spicy, messy, taboo holiday with my favorite twins, and I devoured every page.

Indi & Haze continue to live rent-free in my head. They're messy, obsessive, completely unhinged, and somehow still make you root for them. AB Cynthe has a talent for blending horror, taboo, and dark romance in a way that keeps me glued to the pages while never losing sight of the twisted connection between these two.

This series is one wild ride, and it's one you don't want to miss. Start with Baked, then buckle up and dive into this beautifully unhinged world. And, as always with AB Cynthe, don't skip the trigger warnings.

A continuation with some resolution

This is a similar review to book 1, Baked, but instead of being primarily spice and horror driven, a subplot is added in. Haze is on the run and a whole other sibling comes into the picture to maybe make the finances and police evasion more believable? Also... where did Aiden come from and who is he? Yes... suspend your belief again as a whole new crew accepts the brother sister lovers dynamic... even their own brother...without even batting an eye! However, the spice is still spicing with the ultimate level of taboo and Indi works to resolve so of her past mistakes. Brownies squared because this one levels up the debauchery. A good duology in an interconnected universe.

I missed Haze so much! When I read Baked and heard Burnt was coming out a month later I STALKED Cynthes IG to see when it was coming out to read it. Honestly happy with what happened to Mary. I understand that the plot is moving but I didn’t expect a underground network for a taboo romance to include our lovely pot heads NO OFFENSE LOL. I feel like the Taboo aspect was there OBVIOUSLY but it didn't have the same feeling as book one. I think this book is just setting up for a story with other characters to have their own books in the future. It was nice for a cross over for Aiden though. Might change my rating when I let this marinate in my head a bit more.

I love Haze, Indy and Kush(can't forget this little pothead). This book was so amazing! I love taboo, and these two make it so much spicier, especially with all the food being involved! 😂 And Felix? OMG. I can not wait for his book, and if you haven't read Sour, there is a sneak peek of his FMC in there.👀 I'm really interested in more about this secret organization, the glimpse get in Burnt just wasnt enough! Also eff Mary-Jane she finally got what she deserves!!

We're back baby and better than ever baby! This book was so unbelievably romantic and I felt the yearning. There was sooo much longing between these two. Haze is literally perfection. He takes care of Indi on a whole other level and you know what? Because theyre twins, she matches his devotion. She is just as romantic. I was swooning for these and rooting for their HEA because you know what? They deserve it! The plot here also plotted and I'm super excited for whats to come!! The ending had my jaw on the floor!!

Tbh… Indi and I were not exactly besties in this one. I found myself getting frustrated with her more than I expected, and some of her choices had me seriously questioning her.

BUT if THIS is what family holidays look like in this world… somebody pass me the invite because WHAT?!

The drama, the tension, the chaos, the questionable decisions—this family really knows how to make a holiday memorable.

Still taboo AF and had a lot more shmexy sessions. I really wanted to rate the stories higher but book two solidified it for me—I really hate Indie's character. She's a weak brat. She makes demands, doesn't listen, and then is surprised by things she's already been told. And to be surprised by Mary-Jane's betrayal kinda makes want to have hear head meet a baseball bat so I can knock whatever is clogging the way to her last few brain cells.

I absolutely loved Baked and was excited to read Burnt, but this missed the mark. The book needs lots of editing, as there are many grammatical errors and repetitive words. I was analyzing the grammar errors more than I was reading it.

I love Kush, Indi, and Haze, but the story felt very cringey. The story didn’t flow well and I wish Haze had a little more of a backstory, instead of just popping up right away in the prologue.
