RICHTIG GEMOCHT!!!!
✨ Thank you to LM Fox and Hambright PR for the eARC in exchange for an honest review. All opinions are my own. ✨
This book surprised me in the best way possible. I went in expecting a cozy holiday romance and instead found a romantic suspense with mystery-filled, wintery vibes. Char and Dave share an instant connection, yet neither believes love is in their future. Char’s flashback scenes add depth to her character and help readers understand the fear and trauma that shape her approach to relationships. Will Char and Dave allow themselves to connect—and dare to dream of their happily ever after?
Read this if you enjoy romantic suspense with a touch of tension, slow-burn romance, and a small-town setting.
Char and Dave meet at their best friend’s wedding. They hit it off pretty fast, joking, flirting, and sharing looks. They have one amazing night, that was the deal. But sometimes deals are broken, and he can’t stop thinking about her; she can’t stop either.
They both have past baggage that is difficult to overcome. She is running from it, he is dealing with the aftermath. Might be part of what keeps them apart.
Layla outdid herself with this book. It’s such an extraordinary story, just the right amount of suspense and romance. Such an interesting storyline. I really didn’t want to put this book down, it was just super entertaining to read. Such a heartfelt story, that had me tearing up and biting my nails at the same time.
This book completely pulled me in and honestly surprised me in the best way. I went in expecting a cozy winter romance and ended up getting something so much deeper and more emotional.
Char’s story broke my heart. She’s been surviving for years, carrying fear and trauma quietly, and I loved how strong yet gentle she still is. Her anxiety felt real and handled with so much care. And Dave? Absolute gold. A steady, protective firefighter who notices everything and shows up without pressure. The way he becomes her safe place without trying to rush her made me love him instantly.
The romance is a true slow burn with just the right amount of tension and spice, paired perfectly with the suspense woven throughout. The winter setting and small-town vibes made everything feel even more intimate and cozy.
This was tender, protective, emotional, and so satisfying. I finished it feeling full in the best way.
Thank you so much to the author and @hambright_pr for the gifted ARC 🤍 Available now on KU and Amazon.
Huge thank you to Hambirght PR and L.M. Fox for this ARC in exchange for my honest review!
This books honestly surprised me!! I went into this relatively blind and I was expecting this to be a novel set completely in the winter and I really enjoyed that the fact that this spanned over a longer period of time! I really loved the storyline. It felt like a unique take on romantic suspense and I loved how the story came together. That plot twist at the end literally took me completely by surprise.
This was a quick and easy read! It hooked my attention early on and it never wavered!
Char and Dave share an indescribable connection right off the bat and L.M. Fox does an amazing job writing their introduction. Literally my favorite part of the book was them meeting at the wedding. Like the joking, chemistry and banter was just knocked out of the park. Their chemistry was magnetic and so fun to read... especially since neither of them thought love was in their futures.
There were a few small things that bothered me in this book but the pros outweighed the cons. Here’s my brief pros and cons list.
Pros: Quick and easy Cute storyline Lovable characters Kept my attention Plot twist was top notch
Cons: Timeline felt really off at times? Important things seemed to be like mentioned but never finished The characters actively saying “haha” while talking Some things were kind of cringe??
Would I suggest this to a friend? Yes! Would I reread? Probably yeah! Would I like a trophy? Yes!
I got to read a copy from hambright PR thank you! I loved the idea of a “one night stand” that turns into many! I Also really enjoyed the dual pov I am such a sucker for that, I love reading both of their sides of the story! Super cute fast read!
Thank you, Hambright PR, for providing me with an ARC in exchange for an honest review!
This was a cute and light read ahead of the holidays! The writing in the beginning wasn’t the best, the dialogue was plain and cringy and extremely unrealistic!
But as the story progressed it became smoother to read, they were still a cheesy couple (and overall story) but I could see how someone could love them!
The use of current popular songs bothered me a bit, but that’s just personal preference! And there’s also a mention of a problematic country artist which I feel like could’ve been left out
It’s a simple story that could bring some holiday cheer to the readers!
Snowed in, still broken hearts, and a firefighter with a golden soul. Snowed In With You by L.M. Fox completely drew me in! This story has everything I adore in a small town winter romance: a survivor FMC, a protective cinnamon roll hero, romantic suspense, found family, and all the holiday vibes! crave this time of year! * Char has spent years just surviving, carrying the weight of betrayal and fear. But this story lets her finally breathe. Watching her heal, trust, and open her heart again was so emotional and empowering. And Dave? The sweetest, most steady firefighter who sees her scars, calls her brave, and becomes her safe place without ever rushing her. I also loved how this story reminds you that family isn't always blood, it's the people who help you rebuild when life breaks you down! We always need people like that in our lives. If you love stories that blend healing, hope, suspense, and heart. Then this cozy holiday romance is one to curl up with by the fire. It's tender, emotional, and full of moments that remind you that you deserve to be loved gently # Tropes: • Snowed in Romance • Cinnamon Roll Firefighter Hero • Survivor Heroine • Found Family • Romantic Suspense • Trauma + Comfort • Protective MMC • Slow Burn to Full Melt • Holiday Vibes
This book had no riaht to pull me in the wav it did. I opened it expecting cute holiday vibes, a little small town charm, mavbe a firefighter with a iawline that could slice through gingerbread... but NO. Instead, I got feelings. Plot twists. Suspense. AND the longest wedding day in history turning into a meet-cute disaster of fate. Our poor, traumatized, "marriage? absolutely not" main character is just trying to survive an event that should've ended 18 hours ago...and then she appears. Instant connection. Immediate danger. Zero sense of self-preservation. We respect that. One night. No names. No complications. (Literally the most suspicious sentence in the romance universe.) And then she vanishes like a festive cryptid with perfect hair leaving behind emotional shrapnel and a craving for someone you were supposed to forget. When they meet again? She's different Guarded. Shadowed. Suspense creeping in like, "Hey bestie, mind if I ruin your life real quick?" The small town vibes? Immaculate The firefighter energy? Strong enough to extinguish my will to function. The tension? Seasonal, spiced, and dangerous.
Snowed In With You was a sweet and emotional small-town holiday romance with a touch of suspense that kept me hooked from the start. I loved the instant spark between Char and Dave, their connection felt natural, warm, and full of chemistry. Char’s past and the secrets she carries added depth to the story, and it made me root for her healing and happiness. Dave was the perfect cinnamon roll hero: protective, patient, and ready to show her what real love looks like. The small town charm, cozy holiday setting, and cameos from familiar characters made the world feel comforting and connected. I also enjoyed the suspenseful moments, they added tension without taking away from the romance. The forced proximity and emotional vulnerability between Char and Dave made their relationship feel genuine and earned. Overall, this was a heartwarming read filled with love, second chances, and a little Christmas magic. Very grateful to the author and @hambright_pr for my arc , opinions are my own
Book 3 in the Sycamore Mountain series: Dave and Char. This is a small town, found family, strong survivor FMC, golden retriever protective MMC, secrets and on the run, one night stand, MCs in their 30s, he falls first and hard, trauma and comfort, forced proximity, firefighter x salon owner, romantic suspense. This was such a sweet book that hooked me from the start. Char has a past she is trying to hide from and Dave is scared of any possibility of a future with a woman. Neither believe that love is in the cards for them and want to stay clear of it. When Char braces leaving the safety of her town to go to her best friends wedding, she meets Dave who is the brides husbands highlighter buddy. Instant connection that they are both surprised and scared of. This was such a great read, I enjoyed it from start to finish and was sucked in from the first page. I would totally recommend this book!
I have fallen in love with everything Layla writes and this book didn’t disappoint. The suspense is strong, a true page turner to find out what was going to happen next! It be prepared for one truly heartbreaking emotional rollercoaster. Char travels from FL to NC for her friends wedding, which was by far the longest wedding day with 4 firefighter weddings from the fire station in 1 day. That’s where she meets Dave, a charming firefighter. So their night together was hot even though it was one night, no last names and she was gone the next morning. But when Char gets back to FL her anxiety kicks in. Her past is heartbreaking and truly lives in fear even being in witness protection. And Dave’s is just as sad with his past after what his parents went through. So when these two end up meeting again, the journey, feeling, trauma and tension intensifies. The banter was great, spice even better. Such a great read!!
This book was an arc read , it was an emotional , cozy , spicy read . It followed Dave and Char’s story from meeting at Char’s best friend’s wedding to a night neither of them can forget. The chemistry was instant, but what really stood out was the depth. Char has lived through significant trauma and struggles to open up, making her connection with Dave both intense and fragile. I appreciated how the author handled heavier subjects with care while still delivering a spicy romance story David’s protective nature and the way he made Char feel safe stole my heart he would truly do anything for her. As Char falls for Dave, staying away becomes impossible, and I was fully invested in the story.
This was such a cozy yet suspenseful read—perfect for winter and holiday vibes. Once I really got into the story, I genuinely couldn’t put it down. The pacing kept me hooked, and the chemistry between the characters was wonderfully done.
I especially appreciated the strong, layered characters and the sensitive, accurate portrayal of mental health and trauma. It added real depth to the story and made the characters feel authentic and relatable. The small-town romance elements were charming and comforting, balancing the suspense beautifully.
P.S. I absolutely loved Dave! He's definitely going up there in the top book boyfriends list!
This is probably more 3.5 stars for me. I really liked the suspense and mystery built into this small town romance. I liked the allusion to Char’s past and the build up to the reveal. I appreciated Smoke (I just prefer his nickname instead of Dave) and his strength and stability.
I did find some of the other relationship development a bit hard to buy into - like Betty just garnered a trusted position a bit too fast for me. I found the ending a bit rushed. It just seemed that there was so much lead up and then it felt to easily cleaned up. However, that didn’t take away from my enjoyment of the overall story.
A swoony, winter romance with a hint of suspense ❄️
🚒 Small Town Firefighter Romance 🕵️ Romantic Suspense 🎄 Holiday Vibes 🏃♀️ Strong Heroine on the Run 🍯 One Hot Cinnamon Roll Hero 👥 Cameos from Other Couples in the Series
This story sucked me in, and had me hooked the entire time! A one night hook up, turned reluctant feelings but with a FMC who has a tough past.
You’ll get swoon, spice, emotional, small town- all the things we love, but in a winter back drop!
Even with the flu I powered through to read this book(it’s that good). Char and Dave were so good together and Dave was such a golden retriever of a fire fighter. The back story for both characters were so sad and char needed to just get out of her own way to be happy. If you love firefighters, small towns, and great secondary characters this one is for you.
Honestly, the writing in this book was truly amazing!
I struggled reading through it, but I think that’s just because of all the transitions I’m currently facing with life and I do want to give it a fair shot. Another read around even with that being said this book is easily a four star read for me and I think it’s perfect for anyone who’s missing the holiday season
