When a desperate secretary seeking to discover herself encounters a man willing to bring her fantasies to life, she never expects to fall into a whirlwind of Unholy Obsession.
Hannah Tsegaye is recovering from a horrible breakup and starting a new tiring job with a boss she has never met. In a desperate attempt to push it all down, she finds herself striking a naughty contract with him, but what she doesn't know is that he's no stranger to spilling blood for the people he's obsessed with. Vincent Black has his eyes set on his new secretary. Control, manipulation and illicit desires are his favorite tools, but when he has himself ensnared in her hold, the lines between casual sex and love begin to blur.
Will he succumb to this forbidden feeling or let his darkness consume him?
After Hannah’s 4 year relationship ends she is kinda on a downward spiral, but her best friend Ashley decides she needs to pick herself back up and suggest attending a masquerade party - and you know what I completely agree as the anonymity of a mask certainly does help bring a person out of their shell. It is at this party that Hannah catches the eye of a stranger to saw both parties were enthralled would be understatement and of course one thing let to another if you catch my drift👀
Hannah returns to her normal life expecting nothing from that night, I mean she and the stranger kept their masks on so they would have no idea who the would be if they saw each other in broad daylight right? Well wrong, because the stranger turns out to be her new boss Vincent Black and he is completely aware of who Hannah is and he has a proposition for her in which he promises to bring her fantasies to life🤭
This book is a dark and intense read, the prologue is evident of that- Vincent is OTT possessive and has proven he will go to extreme extents for our FMC. Hannah definitely comes out of her shell and becomes the person she wants to be throughout this book. It was great to see her development from start to finish.
Thank you to the author who provided and e-arc for this book for my honest thoughts 💭
This book completely consumed me in the best way. From the first page till the end, the writing pulls you in with an intense and dark atmosphere that never lets up.
The characters are incredibly compelling, flawed, complex and written w so much depth that they feel disturbingly real. The chemistry is crazy & the tension is constant. I love how the story balances dark romance with psychological intensity, which makes it basically impossible to predict where things go next.
The pacing is strong, the dialogue is sharp and the emotional pull is relentless. This is one of the books where u tell yourself „just one more chapter & then i‘ll go to bed“ and suddenly hours have passed.
If you enjoy dark romance w morally pitch black characters, obsessive dynamics & a haunting edge, this book is absolutely worth it!! Its intense and unforgettable. This book truly stays in your head long after you’ve turned the final page.
This book was absolutely amazing, from the very first page. This is the kind of book you just don't want to put down because every part is so interesting and keeps you consumed in the book you look track of time.
The way the characters progress throughout the book was so well done, they are written with so much depth and detail that you can so easily imagine them throughout. Each character has such different personalities and they are portrayed amazingly, from them being funny all the way to the obsessive side. Even seeing the way the FMC grows throughout the book from being shy and insecure to being this strong, independent woman is amazing to see.
If you enjoy dark romance with a morally grey characters a hint of humour throughout then this is an absolute must read. This book truly will live in your head way past the end of the book and you can't even get mad at it because its just so good!
Unholy Obsession is a dark romance that hooked me fast and never let go. The MMC is blunt, dominant, and morally gray—sometimes frustrating, sometimes swoon-worthy, but always compelling. The FMC is sassy, shy in places, and strong when it counts.
I loved their power dynamic, the protective obsession, and the psychological tension throughout. It’s dark, intense, and unafraid of uncomfortable moments—which is exactly why it’s so good. If you enjoy dark romance with strong, flawed characters, this one is a must-read.
Thank you so much for the ARC opportunity, @VictorHastings 🖤 Unholy Obsession had me hooked from the start and quickly became one of my favorite reads this year. I truly appreciate the chance to read and leave an honest review!
The book starts at a fast pace, you'll need to be totally prepared. It follows a young woman fresh from heartbreak who unexpectedly meets a powerful, sexually possessive man(Vincent )who "kills" for her.
Vincent is a strong character, eccentric, and highly decisive in every area of his life except love. Beyond all that intensity, the beauty of this novel lies in the character development between the protagonists(at least for me).
If you enjoy witty, spice and intense storytelling, you're definitely in the right place.
Victor's writing style is definitely up there, it pulls you in and keeps you glued to the pages. You might want to check out his other books as well.❤️
this book is one of the best dark romance books I've read this year that's 2025 like I just enjoy the amount of intelligence that was putting to the craft. the turning or a new leaf situation was one of the best how he sold his crocodile and his mother being a leading player in that transformation as for I don't want to get to the names of the characters but as for my favorite Nigerian guy I just loved his presence
sincerely of course this is not for that has a lot of very dark themes like sexual assault and others but still a very good read and they are trigger warnings

Like is understatement for this book. I fucking love it. the inclusivity of this book is top tier. As a grown ass woman with belly and is not as lean as the society wants typically. I had confidence reading this book.
minor issues are just typo, tho this not change my emotional impression in this book.
Definitely will recommend this to whomever will listen to me.
5 stars because this had my eyes balling with tears on Chapter 55. Has a solid plot, unpredictable and a new and unique story telling and writing.
this book was one of the best books I have ever read honestly, I loved it a lot, the plot was plotting and the characters were so good, I was attached to this book the second I started reading it, I didn't even put it down until someone called me. I absolutely loved it, the plot the everything, but my favorite part was when Vincent said "Well, it wasn't inappropriate when you were coming all over my fingers last night, Hannah." when I read this part I was like "ahhh!"
The plot and foreshadowing were on point, I loved how he chased after her for a year and got better character development. (I didn't like the part where he abandoned the crocodile. :C) It was all good n' perfect. I definitely recommend rereading it. :D
This was beautifully written. Morally grey men written with emotional nuance, depth and sensitivity often attributed to a woman's gaze will always be top tier. I loved this book and loved that it was written by a man. Look forward to reading more of his works
