This is the most perfect guide for any new quilter who wants to learn how to quilt their own quilts. Christa Watson takes you step by step through the process, with easy to follow instructions and encouragement. She hits all the important points that I've stressed to my own students and I found myself nodding in agreement while reading her tips and helpful hints. I will be recommending this book to everyone I meet who asks about learning to quilt on a home sewing machine. I love the layout of the book. Each pattern is introduced by first showing a close up, keeping the main focus on the actual quilting process.. Then you turn the page to see the full picture of the quilt. Christa has many quilt patterns in this book that I can't wait to make!

This is a delinquent review--I first read Christa's book last year, soon after it was published. It's a perfect book for beginning machine quilters, and a great book for those of us who are trying to get better.

I recently took out Machine Quilting with Style a few weeks ago when I was in the process of quilting a number of quilts and needed good ideas for good-looking, fairly straightforward quilting designs. I found exactly what I was looking for! I also needed a bit of a refresher course in certain quilting techniques and this book provided amply.

So thanks, Christa, for helping me in my time of quilting need! I highly recommend this book for beginning and advanced beginner machine quilters. Big plus: lots of cute quilt patterns!

I follow Christa Watson's blog, so I was looking forward to her book and was not disappointed. Half the book is devoted to quilting with a walking foot, and half to free-motion quilting. All of the quilting examples are accompanied by original quilt patterns to make and enjoy. She has also included a nice section on quilting basics, including a really good section on binding a quilt. Highly recommended.

Great book -- she describes machine quilting in easy, simple terms and gives the reader several very nice projects. I want to do two of the projects already! Best of all, she takes you through to binding your quilt, which many authors leave out.
