Glorious, Even

Rate this book
Gloria Booth has owned Whitman Beach's diner for over thirty years. She knows almost everyone in town, and they know her — Glo from the diner, they call her. A constant, like the tides in the ocean or the town's annual bonfire. She's sensible and hardworking, and she's tired of it. She's deep in her "Bah, Humbug!" era, and not even the town's light festival — which promises a huge boost to her business — can get her in the spirit.

In the midst of it all lands Hank Burrows, a writer on assignment for a travel magazine. He's charming, handsome, and sees a Gloria no one else does. As they give in to their mutual attraction and stare down Hank's departure date, Glo begins to see a future filled with possibilities she'd long dismissed. The question does Hank see those things, too? Or is does the whole thing end with the holidays?
