America is peaceful and back at the top of the world seventy years after the Second Revolutionary War tore through the country and gave birth to the new Central government. For Lily Sandover the Second Revolution is just another war to learn about in school, until her political father gets promoted into the tiers of Central and she finds herself stuck in a dark world of politics and secrets.

Lily's family is invited into a branch of Central that is considered the most exclusive organization in the world called the Commission of the People. The Commission is so exclusive that once a family is brought into its ranks, they are in for life. Though happy for her father’s achievements, Lily is terrified that she will be forced into a political career herself.

But within the walls of the Commission of the People, the darkest secrets of America are held, and Lily cannot sit by and allow the horrific practices continue. She finds herself tangled in a dangerous game of wits with the leader of the Commission of the People as she tries to find a way to expose the Commission and dismantle the barbaric institution dabbling in weaponizing humans and genetic experimentation.
