A stand-alone billionaire Shifter romance set in the same world as the Witch Twins duet.
Hannah One night after work I stopped for a drink in a bar I’d never been to before. I sat in a dark booth, angry at my situation as a princess in a gilded cage, trapped by my father’s control over my money, my job. My life. My last escape attempt failed, but I wasn’t going to give up. It would be easier to run if I wasn’t the guardian of my four-year-old niece, but I’d cut off my own arm before I'd leave her behind. She wasn’t my daughter by blood, but she was my child in every way that mattered. The last thing I expected to happen in that bar was that I would meet a Shifter who made me feel alive for the first time in years. But we’d barely met before I had to take my child and run, without the Shifter who’d called me his mate.
Simon I’ve waited my whole life to meet my mate. And when my panther scented my little Mouse in a dive bar full of Humans First sympathisers I almost decided not to meet her. But her scent called to both parts of my soul. And then she fell into my arms. Literally. Nothing in my life had ever felt so right and when she left my protective embrace, I immediately wanted her back. It was clear that there was something wrong in her life. I was going to fix it. First though, I made sure she knew how I felt. I Declared My Intent and she agreed to let me court her. Then she and her cub escaped in the night. But there was nothing in the world more determined than an Alpha who’d scented his mate. My Mouse had run, but my panther and I would never give up. We were Hunting Hannah and we would catch her. And then she would be ours. Forever.
Suitable for 18+ only, due to violence, swearing and sex scenes.
I received this book as an ARC, however the opinions are all my own.
I thoroughly enjoyed Hunting Hannah, with an engaging, tension filled story, worldbuilding, and fantastic characters, all of the strengths of S.J Distel's writing are here in full force.
Hannah has both a strength and vulnerability that makes her P.O.V chapters funny, relatable, sexy and devastating. Her relationship with her niece is heartwarming and sweet, she exhibits a lot of bravery throughout the book that makes her character a delight to read!
Simon was a great male romantic lead, I absolutely love the idea of a panther shifter! His personality really shines through when interacting Hannah, and their relationship is written super well. Their personalities fit into and improve each other, and the way they protect, sacrifice and fight for each other is deeply endearing.
I also loved the ways other characters from the series make little cameos throughout the book, it's always exciting to hear them mentioned, and it made the world feel large and interconnected.
Overall this was an awesome read, and a high recommendation if you love the romance and shifter genre! S.J Distel's writing gets better and better with every book, and I can't wait for the next one!
