Falling For Pine Hollow

Rate this book
When Brianna Hart, the devoted baker of Pine Hollow, learns her beloved shop may be forced to close just days before Christmas, her world begins to wobble like a collapsed soufflé. The bakery isn’t just her livelihood. It’s her sanctuary, her routine, and the heart of the mountain village she’s always called home.

Then Oliver Grant a meticulous London solicitor tasked with handling the estate his late grandfather left behind, including several Pine Hollow properties, one of which happens to be Brianna’s bakery. Determined to honour his grandfather’s wishes and see the estate settled quickly, Oliver doesn’t expect the snow-charmed village or its warm, nosy residents, to impact him in the slightest.

Pine Hollow, however, has a way of surprising people.

After the town’s knitting club catches Brianna and Oliver talking at the Christmas Winter Wonderland, gossip spreads faster than a storm over the mountains. Suddenly, the entire village is convinced they’re secretly courting. Brianna tries to deny it, Oliver awkwardly dodges it, but Pine Hollow has never met a rumour it couldn’t nurture.

Yet as the two continue to cross paths, sharing quiet moments, unexpected laughter, and soft confessions beneath twinkling lights. Neither can ignore the growing connection simmering between them. Just as Brianna attempts to save her bakery, Oliver finds himself questioning the life he left behind in London… and discovering pieces of himself he never knew were missing.

With Christmas approaching and the future of both the bakery and their hearts on the line, Brianna and Oliver must decide whether the whispers around town are nothing more than holiday gossip… or the beginning of something real, and worth holding onto.

“She loved taking pictures. Said they made time feel less slippery.”

I absolutely loved this book. It was cosy, romantic and full of twists and turns. I loved Brianna’s positive, bubbly personality. Meticulous solicitor Oliver couldn’t be less out of place in Pine Hollow if he tried. The small town camaraderie is evident throughout. It was the perfect winter read.

↣But as I watched her laugh with her townsfolk, cheeks glowing, shoulders unstiffened, her entire presence softened in a way I hadn’t seen before, one thing settled in my chest with quiet certainty: Leaving Pine Hollow wasn’t going to be simple. And leaving her might not be possible at all.

↣And God help me… I wanted her in ways I hadn’t let myself want anything in years.

↣And for a moment, with the snow falling softly outside and the warmth of her flat wrapping around us like a blanket, i realized i didn't want to be anywhere else

Thank you to the author for the advanced copy. All thoughts are my own.

Falling for Pine Hollow is a cozy, winter-filled romance that feels like stepping into a snow-globe small town—warm, charming, and perfect for curling up with on a cold night.

The sunshine baker FMC is easy to root for, and pairing her with a grumpy, stoic Londoner was such a fun contrast. The grumpy-in-the-city-but-soft-in-the-snow MMC absolutely stole my heart, especially with the he falls first, but she falls harder dynamic. Their slow-burn tension was well-paced, filled with meaningful glances, emotional growth, and moments that quietly deepen their connection rather than rushing it.

Pine Hollow itself is a standout—festive lights, a cozy bakery, forced proximity thanks to a blizzard, and that magical small-town atmosphere that makes everything feel a little more romantic. I especially loved how the story emphasized worth, choice, and learning to let someone in, rather than just leaning into surface-level romance.

While I really enjoyed the story, some elements were a bit predictable, and I found myself wanting slightly more emotional intensity in a few key moments. Still, the overall experience was comforting, heartfelt, and satisfying.

If you love cozy winter romances, grumpy/sunshine pairings, slow-burn tension, and small-town charm, Falling for Pine Hollow is absolutely one to add to your TBR this season. ❄️✨

Falling for Pine Hollow was such a sweet and cozy Christmas romance novel. I absolutely loved the setting of Pine Hollow, this small town in the Scottish highlands made for the perfect cozy Christmas atmosphere. The found family between the main character Brianna and the town folk was so sweet, the people of Pine Hollow clearly care a lot about Brianna and it shows! I loved the addition of the towns knitting club, those three grandmas and their gossiping went nicely with the story, their teasing came off as playful and lighthearted but I still felt that they genuinely cared about Brianna and her potential love story.

The romance here was so sweet and heartwarming, the role in which the knitting club played was perfect. They smelt a match and simply added some kindling to get the flame going. Brianna and Oliver made for an excellent pair, the slow burn was written so beautifully. They had nice soft banter and plenty of heart to heart moments that I felt lead to a nice solid romance. They have so many cute scenes together and such a positive & sweet connection. Falling for Pine Hollow and Brianna and Oliver made for an excellent cozy Christmas romance, I had felt the connection between these two from an early start and I’m very pleased with the direction that the book had gone in them with. Mel is one of my favourite authors that can encapsulate you directly into the story as her imagery and story telling plays out in front of your very eyes and this is no exception in Falling for Pine Hollow.

This is a slow burn Christmas romance that brings two strangers together - Oliver the solicitor who is the executer of his grandfathers will and Brianna the sweet bakery owner who finds out her bakery and home are being sold on. These two meet when in reality their paths wouldn't have crossed the sweet baker and city slicker but one things shows is that these two have a connection. Their story is a sweet hallmark feel, and their connection grows as these two get to know each other and Oliver lets his defences down to embrace this town in it’s entirety.

Thank you Mel for making me cry, again.

When local baker Brianna learns her bakery is under threat of closure, her world begins to slowly fall apart. Enter Oliver a London solicitor who has been tasked with handling his late grandfathers estates.

I loved this book, it was such a quick and cosy read from start to finish. The writing made me feel like I was experiencing everything Bri and Oliver were, the hurt, the grief, the love, those stolen moments. Love crops up in the most unexpected ways

Another 5 star book from Mel, I’ll never get tired of these stories and writing style.

This was such a lovely story, I loved the small village setting and all those busybodies who love to gossip, but have your best interests at heart! Brianna was such a strong character, running the bakery her mother and grandmother had run, while coping with the tragedies in her past. And Oliver, he needed the change of scenery more than he realised as he was on the edge of burn-out, but getting snowed in at Pine Hollow was the best thing to ever happen to him!
Also loved that he connected with his past, while he was there, and learnt new things about his grandparents.

Falling For Pine Hollow is the cutest, cozy holiday romance read. The story follows the MCs Brianna and Oliver & was a heartfelt read which is perfect for maintaining the seasonal vibes. The town and it's gossip is a whole character in and of itself. I luved Brianna and Olivers' characters. They had a palpable chemistry that makes your heart melt as the story goes along. The story was fast paced but packs a strong emotional pull for such a short read. This was a quick read which will leave you too full with feels to be hollow. I certainly fell for Pine Hollow.

Really sweet story with all the yearning. How can someone yearn so much in less than 200 pages? Well, Melanie Davies makes it possible, but it isn’t a bad thing. I truly enjoyed the story, the characters and Melanie’s descriptive writing.

🎄✨ 5 STAR REVIEW ✨🎄
Falling for Pine Hollow by Melanie Davies

WOW. I adored every single second of this heart-warming, festive love story 🥹🤍
Falling for Pine Hollow is the definition of cosy Christmas magic, the kind that wraps you up like a blanket, smells of cinnamon, and leaves your heart feeling full.

Set in the snow-dusted mountain village of Pine Hollow, this story follows Brianna, a devoted baker whose world is turned upside down when her beloved bakery, the heart of the town and her safe haven is suddenly at risk just days before Christmas. Enter Oliver: a meticulous London solicitor, back in Pine Hollow to settle his late grandfather’s estate… including the very bakery Brianna is fighting to save.

From the moment these two meet, the slow-burn tension is chef’s kiss. Add in a village full of wonderfully nosy townsfolk —especially the utterly iconic knitting club — and you’ve got gossip, forced proximity, and rumours flying faster than the winter snow 🤣

What I loved most was how soft this story felt. The quiet moments. The shared laughter. The gentle, simmering connection that grows beneath twinkling lights and festive chaos. Watching Oliver slowly unravel from his London life while Pine Hollow works its magic on him was such a joy, and Brianna’s love for her bakery and her home made everything feel deeply heartfelt and real.

And that ending… 🥹🎄
The letter moment (no spoilers 😏) had me completely in my feelings. It was tender, emotional, and so beautifully earned the kind of ending that makes you pause, smile, and hug the book to your chest.

This was pure Christmas magic, cosy, romantic, emotional, and utterly enchanting. If you love small-town romances, slow burns, festive vibes, and stories that feel like home… this one is an absolute must-read 🎅🏻✨

✨ Favourite Quotes ✨
‘She looked warm. She looked soft. She looked like she belonged here, like she was a part of this place in ways I could only observe from the outside.’

‘And for a moment, with the snow falling softly outside and the warmth of her flat wrapping around us like a blanket, I realised I didn’t want to be anywhere else.’

‘Oliver kissed me like he’d been holding his breath for days.’

‘Outside, snow floated past the window. Inside, the bakery smelled of cinnamon and home. And somehow, despite everything, the world felt whole again. Oliver held me a little tighter. I didn’t let go.’ 🤍

Falling For Pine Hollow is a warm, heartfelt story that feels like wrapping yourself in a cosy blanket and settling into a small town where everyone knows your name. Melanie Davies delivers a charming romance filled with gentle emotion, comforting vibes, and characters that are easy to root for.

The setting is one of the book’s biggest strengths — Pine Hollow feels alive, welcoming, and full of small-town charm. It’s the kind of place you wish you could escape to, especially when paired with a romance that unfolds at a soft, steady pace. The love story is sweet and sincere, built on connection, healing, and those quiet moments that make relationships feel real.

I really enjoyed the character development, particularly how personal growth and emotional vulnerability were woven into the romance. The story focuses on trust, second chances, and opening your heart again, which gave it a lovely emotional depth without ever feeling heavy.

While parts of the plot felt familiar, that predictability added to the comfort rather than taking away from the enjoyment. Overall, Falling For Pine Hollow is a delightful, feel-good read that leaves you smiling by the end.

A solid four stars ⭐⭐⭐⭐ — perfect for readers who love cosy romances, small-town settings, and gentle love stories 🌲📖

Oh how I love small town romances! Immaculate snowy christmas vibes, the perfect level of meddling community and a beautiful setting. I loved how the MMC grew to love the highlands over his trip, and connected with it. Our FMC tended towards negative, but that was expected because of the uncertainty she was facing. The ending was so sweet, this is a perfect read to curl up with a hot drink.
